She is the sweetest lady I have ever met. She goes out of her way to make sure students understand the material. Classes have a very laid-back atmosphere.

Hands down the best professor I have ever had! Easiest A I've ever gotten. She is the nicest woman and will go to no end to make sure you pass the class (tons of extra credit). Tests are super easy, just do all of your homework. If you don't take her you are crazy!

Not only will she guarantee that you will get a "C" or better, but she delivers. You learn quite a bit, albeit somewhat boring (depending on your mood, I guess). She uses power point slides and allows you to make a copy of them. Her quizzes were easy, midterm & final are greatly curved, and she is an absolute sweetheart. An easy "A" for science!

i took her for 1003. it was the most boring class i have taken at bcc. she knows her stuff, but is a hard subject to teach. do ALL HW and extra credit and youll be fine. i wanted to shoot myself in the face. i ended up geting an A.

Very nice lady who LOVES science. BORING class.Alot harder than I thought it would be. Very fair on grading though. Not alot of interaction between the students and teacher during lectures, which would have made it more interesting. Plenty of HW cramped together at the end. Had to spend extra money to get CPS and register online.

Ugh I wanted to take this class because I liked the stars, and now I hate them! The class is really boring. There is a lot of Algebra involved. She gives a ton of H.W. and the tests are never on anything she covered. If you have time to always go to her office for help then take this class. If you work FT, don't take this class.

She is Xtremely SWEET and will help u in your homeworks and projects. The test are straight from the net site from the book, homeworks are for Xtra credit N' if u come to the labs at night u get Xtra points too. She will help u with the final project if u need any help.

Professor Howard is the sweetest teacher I have ever come across. She is willing to help all of her students and will not give you under a C if you show up and atleast try. If you hate science like me, take her. Quizzes come directly from the online site and homework is fairly easy. Show up and pay attention and the class will be a breeze.

What a sweetheart! If anyone has a passion towards what they teach it's her. Extremely intelligent and helpful. She believes no one should fail and gives out plenty of extra credit. Gives mini pop quizez but informs you ahead of time. Midterm and Final are a little challenging but the lowest grade you can receive is a C.

After having Mrs. Howard teach me astronomy lab this semmester, i can say i've come away from the class with a positive feeling about her and her teaching style. Although she may not be the easiest to understand the first time, she has no problem explaining it again. She wants you to pass, and if you make an effort she will not let it go unnoticed.

I took her for PSC 1121 Lab. She is very sweet, and passionate about teaching. That was a easiest lab I had ever because the way she helps and explains things. Also, no quizzes or tests in this lab! Just do the labs and you're set! Also, having to miss a class isn't an auto-fail, like some lab teachers do.

I took her online class and lab, the lab was so easy there is no hmw or quizzes but attendance is extremely important! online class is really bad there is hmw, poerpoint presentation, math problems and quizzes every week!! the midterm was extremely hard! if you just want to take a science class dont take it

I had her for Astronomy and the lab, and she's a great lady. She looves her subject and is extremely smart. She's not all that easy to understand at times (I think she gets nervous speaking in front of people), but she will difinitely explain it again if you're confused. This semester she was a bit disorganized, having just had her first baby.

I took her online class for astronomy. The class requires a moderate amount of work, but she is the best teacher. She is very lenient in grading and you she curves the midterm and final so you can't get under a C. Trust me, I'm horrible with science and I got an A in this class.

Took the online class. Super easy Class, Great Professor. Definitely has a passion for astronomy. Mostly group PowerPoints, and tests, but the work isnt overwhelming.

DO NOT take this class ON-LINE unless you love astronomy and physics! There is a nearly impossible math assignment, a powerpoint group project for all 6 units, and many discussions..very time consuming! The only good thing about this class is she gives lots of extra credit! She says the lowest grade you can get is a C..she curves! Hated class..

I took her lab for Physical Science and it was really easy. I expected the class to be boring but it wasn't. If you show up every class and turn in all your labs, it's impossible not to get a good grade. She's also really nice and helpful.

Do NOT take online class! Syllabus is confusing, 4 chapters every other week with powerpoints, discussions, math and extra assignments. Lots of stress and quite boring really. She does curve though, which is helpful because I don't think anyone can pass. Nice in person, AVOID ONLINE CLASS!

She is an amazing teacher and truly dedicated to astronomy! Honestly, I hate science and wanted nothing to do with the class. She made it truly enjoyable. I took her for HONORS, and got an A. For honors you have a 15 pg paper, but its not that bad at all. I also had her astronomy lab which is super EASY!

I don't understand why so many people seemed to have found Professor Howard?s online class so difficult. Yes, there is a lot of work to complete and some of it, like the math, is rather difficult but Prof. Howard is more than fair, giving hundreds of points in extra credit and she curves your grade. Don't take the online class. There is absolutely so much work that it is overwhelming. Take her in person. She is really one of the nicest, friendliest, and entertaining teachers I have ever had. Take her in person to complete the physical science requirement. Her grading scale is 100-90 A. 89-80 B. And everything else C. Believe me, everything else is a C.

This is a tricky teacher to rate. I took her honors course, and she is an easy grader. She curves grades more than dark energy curves light. Thats not the issue. While it is easy to get an A in her class, it is taxing. She gives A LOT of work; 16pg paper, and a 45min presentation. I did well in this class, but at the expense of my other classes.

I found this class/lab very interesting and non stressful. If you follow the instructions in the lab manual and do the work, you will be fine. Prof Howard is very nice, helpful, and smart! Put in the work, attend class and you will come out successful! Good Luck:)

Super easy you just show up, get in groups and do your work in class no hw, nor textbook use!

I took her for the online class and the lab. Aside from the lab, I never cracked open the book once. Do the EC quizzes on Astroportal. I did enough of them that I completely ignored the essay final and still got an A+. In class, she's nice, but not very clear. You need to pay VERY close attention to get the concepts. Dr Who party at end was fun :)

This class requires for you to put forth effort. There are numerous assignments, projects, discussions, and quizzes that you MUST do. I am by no means a science wiz but just do all that is asked and I guarantee you'll pass. I was surprised when I ended up with an A. Put forth some effort and try your best and you'll receive the same.

Took online and the lab on campus. Test answers are online. Curves grade. Study for midterm and final i didn't and got an A in both classes. I missed 3 assignments and still passed with an A. Ask questions and she will respond. Easy grader. She curves grades also. Just make an effort. I am lazy and still passed. All work can be done within 2 hours.

She's a tough one to rate but I must say she's a very fair grader. For labs you have to be very punctual and attentive, there's a lot of writing and implementing. With that being said just show up and do each and every lab with your lab group. My lab group was fun I had a blast in that class. There's no reason you shouldn't get an A or a B.

Professor Howard was great, I really loved her class. Try to get with a good group when she assigns them because you're stuck with them for life. You can either work slowly, and make sure you do the lab correctly (like me) or work quickly to leave early (the labs can get quite long and late at night.) Either way, it's not difficult to get an A.

Overall, if you try on the assignments and participate in discussions then you should have no problem passing.

Prof. Howard is great! Very knowledgeable & passionate about astronomy. You must come to EVERY lab for credit and do the work. Don't be afraid to work as a team to get assignments done. Very nice professor, can be hard to understand what she is saying, like.. really hard. But she is very sweet and is a very lenient grader. Easy A, I did not learn anything in this class because I googled everything but there is a lot of assignments. She replies to emails fairly quickly and will let you take your exams early if you ask.

Professor Howard was amazing. I learned more on her lab than on the regular Astronomy class with another professor. Each class we completed a lab and the HW was to take notes on a journal of what we did. She gave us the right expectations from day one and was clear on what she wanted us do. Take her. To get started, you have to watch a video and take a quiz(not counted towards final grade) before each module so all the information for that module will be accessible. Once you do that, it's easy to follow but definitely a lot to read. You get two weeks in between each module to complete the work. Group PowerPoint projects are fun and easy.

Professor Howard is an extraordinary teacher and person. She is a cancer survivor and she have some limitations to talk However, if you are patient and pay attention you can follow all her instructions. She always posted everything in D2l all homework. I you wanna learn about Astronomy, I recommend take her class.

There are a lot of discussions and assignments in this class. If that's not your thing, then rethink this professor. However, she is very nice and understanding if you miss an assignment, and gives you a chance to turn things in late. She gives a lot of chances to get a good grade, so while you have to work for it, it's not hard to get there.

These reviews are misleading but this class was truly the best! Took the fall 2020 classes online. webcam not required. Ast1022 we had one research essay, one exam and few discusions due. Ast1022L we only had our labs due. Time was not an issue as we had till the very LAST DAY to submit everything! EASY GRADER! If you failed you really didnt try.

This professor was super sweet. I was a hesitant at first to take her class due to the reviews but I do not regret taking her. This is the second course I have taken with Professor Howard. The first was incredibly easy, completed the PowerPoints and received an A. In this Lab, we met online from 7pm-9pm. Amazing teacher, got sick for most o the whole semester, had substitute teacher and still was amazing, we watched videos on how physics works and how they use. Overall great class.

So Professor Howard seems to be getting negative reviews but to be honest, I disagree. Everything gets graded at the end of the semester, but she is not tough at all. Just do everything on time and plan a, the reading is insanely complex. The textbook was free, use it to your advantage when doing labs. Show maximum effort of what she asks, auto A+.

Professor Howard is a gem. She was very very clear with her expectations in syllabus, and the pacing of the class made it incredibly manageable. The quizzes and work were defined for a very comfortable class experience. I would recommend anyone to take her class.

Professor Howard's class is easy. Yes there's a lot of work but it's straightforward. You can finish it all in about 2 hours. For the final, she gives you a Kahoot, which really helps. You will get an A in the class if you do all the work. She will also send out reminders the day before to remind you that everything is due the next day which helps.

All assignments are open from first day, so you can complete this class quickly. Easy and interesting HWs, tests were based on the readings and powerpoints in D2L. Make sure to finish them on time, and follow the rules on how to write your summaries. Pretty easy, I missed a few assignments so that's why I got a B. Book is free in D2L.

Answers emails within 24 hours, even weekends! I think D2L rings on her cellphone. Entirely wise in this course, any question you have she's ready to give you a full understandable answer. She is there when you need her through emails!!!! Take advantage of it. The book is in D2L, no extra course material. This course is worth every penny.

Her husband comes to class in her place and does lectures which are engaging and fun to listen to, professor Howard post things online which you do and are pretty easy just a little time consuming. Overall, have two teachers for one course is not confusing. If you email her she replies pretty quickly.
