Great teacher! So sweet. Takes attendance. Grade is based mainly off of position papers and follows rubric strictly when grading but papers are pretty easy. Allowed us to redo midterms for extra credit.

Extremely nice teacher, she knows her lectures are long and boring but there is a lot of information to get through so she tries her best. Tough on grading especially with grammar. Also test are very difficult so there needs to be a lot of studying on your part. Only three papers but she expected a lot.

Very sweet woman that wants her students to pass. She is one of those people you cannot dislike, even after you've stayed up all night working on her paper. Have to study hard for exams, but later topics have a lot of common sense. Listen to her advice when she gives it! It's good stuff! Overall sleepy topic, but she works to make it fun.

Professor Margolis is awesome! She is the sweetest, most genuine professor I have ever had. She's really passionate about the subject, and makes the lectures interesting by adding videosstarting group discussions. Study from the book for exams!! Definitely take her for FMST classes and you won't regret it!

This was my second time taking this professor, first time in person. Both classes I have had with her have been tough, but clear expectations and awesome input makes it worth while. Professor Margolis is an amazing teacher, and has met with me to review my resume and help me with things outside of class material. Best CCLS prof at Towson!!

She was so adorable!!! I thought this class was super easy, a nice break during the day. I hardly had to put any effort into it and I still learned a lot of info that i will use later in life. BEWARE: the final is cumulative. She told us it would be mostly new material but over half the test was old info.

she is one of the most sweetest professors you will ever come across. however, there is so much information in lectures so you have to spend hours studying to only be tested on maybe 20% of the content. no extra credit so mess up on one test and your grade is screwed. take an easier class if this is for a core. my worst grade was in this class

She is an amazing teacher but it is not what I would expect out of a core class. There were a lot of assignments, some of which were lengthy. Attendance and participation really matter. She can be a tough grader but she let's you know where you can improve. As long as you pay attention in class, you will pass.

This professor made my transfer for community college great. We did have a lot of work in this class, but her feedback made it worth it. She is very helpful and always willing to help. I hope to have her again in the future.

It's neither easy nor hard if you study for the tests and meet the criteria for papers. She gives 3 or 4 tests, and 2 papers. There is no homework aside from the papers. Lectures are based almost completely off of powerpoints. She gives great feedback is really friendly and fun. Attendance is mandatory.

Such a great professor! Definitely willing to help if you need it. She teaches through powerpoints that can be long, but she pauses for discussion a lot and it's a pretty cool teaching style. Very eye-opening class, she makes it fun and interesting. 3 exams, a book assignment, Mapping assignment, and 2 critical thinking essays. Worth a lot

Professor Margolis is a great professor and a very nice person overall. If you ask for help you will get it. 4 position papers but they were only 3 papers long. 1 midterm and a final.

Margolis is such a sweet lady! She genuinely cares about all of her students and respects everyones opinions. She loves when people participate and share their point of view on the topic in class. Two papers, mapping assignment, book analysis paper, two exams and a final. No homework but you can only miss two classes. Her tests are pretty hard

She's a great professor, I loved her and she helped me with any questions I had. Participate in class and she will be willing to help you with pretty much anything. Her power points are great but you should read the book for additional clarification because she doesnt go back on slides or waste time in class.

Professor Margolis is a gem. Her lectures are interesting and informative, albeit mostly common sense stuff. She's always looking for class participation so RAISE YOUR HAND! If I were in the family studies dept, she'd be a favorite. I may have taken this class for a core, but I'm glad I did. She has a passion for family studies and it's obvious!!

I took her for FMST Ethics. There are 3 papers, 2 test, and few in-class activities. She grades a little hard on the position papers but allows you to make up some points. If you go to class she gives you a clear study guide for the midterm and final that tells you exactly what to study. She's a great professor.

3 assignments, 3 tests. As long as you show up and take notes you will do fine. The only thing I used the book for was the assignments, so it is mandatory. The tests aren't too bad if you actually study. Overall decent class.

I had professor Margolis for family studies, so I decided to take her again for ethics in human services. She provides excellent feedback and provides power points with half-notes meaning you fill in the rest when you show up to class. She does grade hard on the papers, but she gives you opportunities to earn a better grade on your paper.

Professor Margolis is great! She shared a lot of personal stories about the Human Services field. She is honest that being a Human Services professional is not always easy, but it is rewarding. She covered every area of concern young professionals should be educated on.

Ethics students, shes your lady! The position papers are doable and get you to really consider issues that social workers face. She loves watching you succeed and you can ask or tell her ANYTHING and shell be glad to help out. I feel lucky to have her and so will you if you take her!! Go Margolis go!!

Margolis is AMAZING. she is the sweetest and most caring teacher. There are 3 position papers which she thoroughly goes over and gives time to ask questions. 2 online quizzes (10 questions) and all answers are on PowerPoints that she puts on blackboard. She felt bad for having class before thanksgiving so gave everyone 100 on last quiz. A saint.

Prof. Margolis is very intune with her students. She knows what she is talking about and is passionate about her work. She doesnt force her opinion on you and encourages you to think for yourself. Very understanding and very helpful out of the class as well.

There was only one exam for the entire semester and it was the final so there was no way of knowing what to study for and how she gives tests which sucked. But there was a lot of opportunity to keep your grade high with papers, blackboard quizzes, and little assignments here and there. She's funny and she is really invested in what she teaches!

only come in every few weeks but have almost weekly discussion posts to update everyone on internship. she is so sweet and funny and wants you to come to her and share your experiences. will help you with supervisor if you run into any problem, wants you to succeed. you get knocked down a letter grade if you miss any scheduled in-class times.

She is very sweet and understanding. I took this class for core 14. She expects a lot but, it isn't hard. The hardest thing was sitting in lecture they aren't mandatory but you should come.

She's so sweet, probably one of the nicest professors I've had. But her lectures are so boring most of the time, and she assigns a lot of papers. Meet all the requirements on the rubric and you will do fine, and her tests are not hard!

She always tried to engage the class and tried to make the material as interesting/relatable as possible (even if we just took it as a core) She was super accommodating as well, and you could really tell she wanted to you get something out of the class. This is the second class I've taken with Margolis and she truly cares about the well-being of her students. Her lectures are super interesting and having her online was the best choice ever. Absolutely loved prof Margolis, she is the sweetest lady. Always relates lecture back to real life examples. She made sure her class was structured so we knew what to expect which was nice. Heavy on discussion boards and you must read the textbook every week to do them. Then there were about 5 quizzes. Easy class if you do the work. Loves her job.

Professor Margolis is really sweet and relatable. I was dreading being online this semester, but she made it enjoyable. Attendance wasn't required and neither was participation, but the atmosphere was so relaxed you could jump in at any time. As for assignments, it was a discussion board each week and 4 ten question quizzes.

Im still pretty new to Towson Univeristy. I had Professor Margolis my first semester and I can tell you shes one of the best professors in all of the undergrad. An Angel on earth. Very sweet and funny lady. The lectures could be boring, but all the quizzes were online so as long as you take notes it should be easy. She was also extremely understanding with me, if anything comes up don't be afraid to reach out or go to her office hours to discuss it with her. Definitely recommend her.

Professor Margolis is by far my favorite professor and I rarely like my professors. She is knowledgeable without coming off arrogant, cares about your success and your health, and is very professional and just a kind person overall. The class is fairly easy as there are only a few assignments and you do not need to read to pass, but take notes.

Took this class over the summer (10wk). Prof is very knowledgeable + passionate about the subject. Easy workload and the content is pretty interesting. Discussion posts are very opinionated and basically graded on completion. Short quizzes every week, answers come right from the book. No exams, one 5 page paper on a book of our choice. Great class!

I've had her for 325 and 387. She is always amazing. A super sweet individual who truly takes her students concerns to heart. Just keep an open line of communication with her and she will make any changes you need. She has moved classes online for us, extended due dates, even changed assignments completely. Any class you take with her is worth it.

Professor Margolis is a sweet heart and made this less stressful and really flexible. It consist of one paper, no exams, one page reflections, and weekly attendance for service learning sites. She would always ask what worked for us in completing assignments and made it so we could have extended time doing them. I recommend taking her she's great.

I took her TSEM course and she is the most caring professor I've had all semester. Our writing fellow was also very helpful and provided feedback throughout the semester on how to write a paper. The only assignments to note are the final paper which she rarely acknowledges. She sometimes provides extensions on other assignments, though!

Took this class during a minimester (Three week course), super easy. Class was asynch so there was no stress with having to meet at certain times. We had discussion boards every week that were due at a reasonable time. Chapter quizzes were easy. Textbook was mandatory to do well in this class. Overall a good class for FMST, I recommend this course!

A student said something that made everyone very uncomfortable, which made her emotional, so she ended class early. shes super caring abt our wellbeing. had 4 DBs, 2 papers, midterm, final, and partner debate (easy A dont panic), assignments didnt feel overwhelming. only thing is she waits til the last min to give study guides

She is an amazing teacher, and cares about your progress in overall school,l over just understanding her content. She provides notes where you fill in during class. If attendance is over 90%, you don't have to take the final. She also only gave us discussion boards and quizzes, which are easy.

I adore her! She's so sweet and wants her students to pass. Easy A as long as you do the discussion boards and few online quizzes (literally the only assignments we had). She takes attendance and if you attend 90% of her classes then you don't have to take the final. If you ever miss a quiz or DB reach out to her, she is accommodating which I love!

TAKE HER IF U WANT AN EASY A!! The sweetest prof ever and cares about students. Attendance is recorded but if u have a 90% attendance rate u can skip the final so show up! Easy discussion boards each week and open book quizzes like once or twice a month. No papers and no exams. If u miss a quiz or db, go to her office hours and she will help u :)
