Very helpful, very nice and very understanding. She's a great english teacher. But you have to like reading alot about hispanic cultures(very easy readings)and she gives about 5 essays for the semester. I loved her class!

For me, the class seemed to overwhelming. There was too much too do online. Reading long posts,and having to respond to them was tedious. The books were interesting, I must say. And the assignments, were alot. It did not seem structured online. Gives good feedback. Warned me of my status to not get an F, but instead a "W" (personal reasons).

Very nice teacher. Quizes are online and straight out of the book. She goes over the final exam with the class....don't miss that day!

This professor is really great, I took her online this summer and let me tell you she may give "work" (3 books to read) but they are easy fun to read novels. Her quizzes are cake and there is no midterm or final. She is super cool, understanding if you have any problems. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

As an online course, she provided all the information but periodically opened the modules throughout the course, instead of opening all modules available to complete at your leisure. She will accept late assignments but at times is difficult to get in contact with. Several novels are required, if you like to read this is definitely a class for you.

She's an awesome teacher iv taken 2 classes with her already. I'm always recommending her too students who need to take writing or reading classes. She actually cares about her students takes her time to give class. We as students aren't perfect nor are our professors ! So far she has been one of the nicest iv had ! What can I say? I really loved this class. Professor Sendin was very caring and nice in general. Writing assignments were relatively easy, and homework was a piece of cake. Now that doesn't mean you can slack off! She does check your work and will criticize your work if need be. You will have to do service learning, but that's usually not a problem

Emily is the best professor I've had in Miami Dade College. She is inspiring and her passion for life, justice and the environment is infectious. I really enjoyed having class with Professor Sendin. At the beginning I struggled a little bit because I don't like writing by a format and following rules, I am better doing things on my own terms under my own guidelines but overall she was very nice and respectful with me, she taught me a lot of useful information and she grade me fairly.

Taking reading with this professor started off my time at MDC in the right way. While Prof. Sendin seems to be tough all you have to do is show effort and that you care and she will help you succeed in her course. She is available in her office and answers emails and reminds immediately. I never felt so much support from a professor and her class is not boring at all. LIT 2480 online was a good course to take with Prof. Sendin. She was always available via email when we had any questions. I never felt like it was too much work and she gives goof feedback. However, be aware that there is a group project. I got to participate in the Write for Rights campaign in this class and this was my favorite assignment.

I really liked the way this course was organized. You have to read as it is a literature class, but I enjoyed the choices we read and the writing assignments were relevant and not too simple. Professor Sendin was always available whenever I had any questions, which was often. I would take this course again with this professor.

I had this professor for ENC 1102 when I was going through one of the most difficult times in my life. She helped me ou immensely and let me know that I was not alone. If you don't pass her class it's because you don't really care or you stop showing up. This professor I've had online. The class was very interesting-- I love the required readings and the Hulu series we needed to watch. She was always present, gave good feedback, and was kind.

Awesome Teacher, gives great feedback. You'll become a better writer. Group project is easy, you just have to do an informational short movie. Write short discussion essays well and you'll pass with an A. Make sure to take notes, so you can pass quizzes with flying colors also. The only thing is that she may take a while to respond to emails.

During IDH2004, she focuses on revising personal statements and writing supplements which is very helpful. During this time of the year, we're all going crazy with applications and she makes this process less stressful. She checks essays until past midnight and writes excelent letters of recommendation. I am really thankful to this professor.

There's no textbook required for the class. We read short articles she posts online and reflect on them. Lastly, we watch and analyze the first season of The Handmaid's Tale. There's a randomly assigned group project but you can choose your role in it.

The LIT2000 STUDY ABROAD course was AMAZING. In class/trip, we analyzed the books/series, and brought analogies of these to events in our history. The trip, I'd describe it as instructive, inspiring and fun; BUT IT WAS WAY MORE THAN THAT! We saw places that inspired the books, where scenes were filmed, and much more. Memories that I'll never forget

The classes are interactive and hands on which makes them enjoyable. The professor loves what she teaches, her enthusiasm pours out and I believe it made the study abroad trip feel like a vacation. Theres many writing assignments and plenty of reading to do. Theres also a group assignment worth a bug percentage, which was kind of difficult since its online. Option of service learning assignment or final. She takes a while to reply to emails and takes long to grade assignments.

She lets you know of award opportunities, advices you beyond the classroom, lets you meet with established authors, and is extremely caring. If you have any concerns she will listen. Take her if you want to succeed; I will definitely be taking her again!

This is the teacher you should take when beginning your transfer journey. I have never had a teacher care so much about your future and ensuring you end up in the right institution. Please do yourself a favour and sign up with her!

Although it did not feel much like an English class, she did give good feedback for submitted essays. Other than that, professor Sendin is very caring and her main goal is for you to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself. She made us do things like podcasts and compete in research competitions which helped me develop my skills.

I LOVE PROFESSOR SENDIN!! She is and will always be one of the best professors I have ever met. I went into this course not knowing much about the topic, but I left with SO much. She really cares about what she teaches and her students, she will do everything to help you understand the material its amazing.

Professor Sendin's class was probably one of the best I've ever had at MDC. Her CRW class made me grow as a writer and also evolve my creativity. It consisted of three projects, all of them really fun to do. Highly recommend her.

In my opinion she's the most helpful teacher to have when preparing for transfer as an honors student. Extremely dedicated and will help you with everything you need, one of the best professors I've had at MDC!

Really easy class. Basically the entire semester was just group projects and a few induvidual ones. All the assignemnts are super easy and she accepts late work. As long as you have a good group for your projects, the class should be a very easy A. As long as you come to class and you are respectful, the class is very easy.

She's a fun professor to have as she has escape rooms that are Game of Thrones or Hunger Games themed. Professor Sendin is really nice as she wants you to succeed in her LIT2480 class even if it involves group assignments.

I have had the priviledge of taking 4 (and soon 6) classes with Prof. Sendin. She is a wonderful person and, somehow, an even better professor. The content of her class is useful, interesting and intentional. She has inspired me to write and read more than I ever have, and her classes have reshaped my college experience. If you can, take her!!!

If you want to become a better writer, human being, and expand your horizons you NEED to take her. She has changed my life. I would not be living as my most authentic self if it wasn't for her. Any professor can teach you a subject, but it is difficult to find one that makes you love it and encourage you to change the world with that love.

Professor Sendin is a supportive instructor, whose dedicated to her students' success, ensuring they pass. This course includes group work, but you can choose your partners. She also allowed us to choose what books/ TV shows we could read/watch to discuss in class. Just make sure you stay on top of your work, since the work load can get heavy.
