this woman is amazing--the best prof ever--I highly recommend her
Pleasant and Enthusiastic! Tests are right from notes! Always there to help.
She really loves what she teaches and is soooo knowledgeable.
She is not very organized and doesn't return work on time...but easy teacher.
Attendence/notes=A (for non-locals), and questions make you think like a lawyer.
Take good notes and miss ZERO CLASS to get an A. Plan to learn A LOT.
Very friendly, humorous, knowledgable lady. Plan to write really fast though.
Easy A! Just come to class and take notes. Nice teacher. Highly recommended.
Great teacher, talks REALLY fast, funny, really helpful!
Emma-Jean is the best prof I ever had at UD!!!
SHE'S THE BEST EVER!!! she wants you to pass! class is fun and you'll learn lots
She talks VERY fast...but is a good teacher.. the tests are on her lectures..
Awesome teahcer, I got an A and didnt even take the final, plus an phat mullet!
Excellent teacher; tests are on lecture--no need to read book; she is awesome!!
TAKE HER CLASS! She's the best! Got an A! She loves her students & her work!
Take this class if you need to increase your GPA
wonderful professor, easy but informative class
Bonus points helped me get an A. She talks faster than the "micromachine"man
fianl was optional, tests required studying, but not so bad overall
Only 3 tests total, make sure you get all the notes, tests are on notes.
Awesome Teacher, such a fun class!.. tests on notes...But it will be fun

Great teacher, great class. Take good notes and it's an easy A without the final
one of the best classes ive taken, tests are all on the notes and not that hard
The greatest class i have ever taken
Very knowledgeable about law. Enthusiastic about material. Fun class.
professor is helpful, enjoys teaching..easy A
this class is damn entertaining, take to get outta your latest arrest...easy A
Great Professor! One of the best at UD. Final was an optional, take home!!
Nice woman, test schedule always gets messed up
Absolutely great teacher. You will learn a lot and the tests are relevent stuff
best teacher ever, good senese of humor, class is cake
terrible lettuce on her head, but a nice lady; memorizes everyone's name 1st day
she's awesome! funny, entertaining, smart, respectful
Excellent teacher! Very helpful and funny! Tests aren't too bad, just study.
I love this woman! Awesome teacher! Tests are right from the outlines.
great class great professor
multiple choice exams are tricky. everything is taken from lecture not book
dotn even buy book, very nice lady
She's Hilarious! Talks wayyyy too fast, exams HARD, Tests straight from lecture
Extremely nice, optional final, wants everyone to do well and class is fun.

don't buy book and syllabus is useless. very enthusiastic and knows her stuff
awesome teacher, funny, not hard if you go to class
Quite possibly the best professor I have ever had!!! Optional Final!!!
Good Teacher and Easy Class, but doesn't make it through the syllabus.
best teacher ever! must take! study and get an A!!!
awesome professor, easy if you go to class
Awesome! Very funny in class. Goes on tangents but covers all! says yay alot!
easiest class ever...NO FINAL!
Easiest class ever!!! Sooo laid back. No final and take home midterm. Don't believe syllabus or what she says, her deadlines and due dates will be pushed back at least three weeks. Awesome lady and believe it or not, you learn a lot.
energetic prof. with alot of info- knows her stuff and is helpful. syllabus had 4 tests listed, wound up taking only 2- good intro course
Outstanding professor, very energetic and keeps class interesting, very clear and really knows the material, available for extra help literally 24 hours a day, favorable grading scale...you'll look foward to this class and professor
such an easy class and a great teacher. She keeps the lectures interesting and she really knows her stuff. Grading scale works to your advantage and final is optional! Just go to class and you'll get an easy A...take this class!!!
nice lady, but really disorganized, never on schedule, you will learn alot but be prepared to cram because she pushes everything so far back. funny but goofy
Excellent Teacher, Funny, And Makes Class Interesting
Nice lady and an easy class. Those who fail should seriously consider leaving college. Easy A and you actually learn.
easy but take gullick he's even easier and gives you 75% of the test questions in advance
this class on supreme court cases was a guarenteed A. You fail and your brain dead. She gave us a take home final and added on an extra 25 points to it for no reason. We go over everything on the final earlier. Take her!!!!
very disorganized
She is a nice lady, but she is very flaky. She is very disorganized. Takes 5 years to return our test grades. Take her if you have patience. Otherwise, do not take her!!!!
Doesn't return test grades on time, jumps around on notes, tests are HARD, terrible
The most unprofessional, lazy, disorganized professor I will probably ever encounter in my life. She doesn't care, so don't bother taking her class.
for an intro course this was impossible. very disorganized, tests are ridiculous, and she doesnt post grades when she says she will. DONT TAKE HER
Go to class, take good notes, get an easy A. Lectures are entertaining and the tests are easy if you study and there is a huge curve. Take this class
Absolutely horrible- tests are hard and the questions come out of nowhere, yet you will never find out your grade because she doesn't post the grades (even though she says she will) and doesn't answer e-mails...AVOID!
I thought I was doing bad so I changed to P/F. Well I get my grade at very end of year for 1st time since she takes forever to return tests and I got an A. What a waste of a semester. But I don't see why people say it's hard, just take notes and read.
don't waste your time or money
Talks very fast, but pretty funny. You gotta go to class cause the book is unbearable. Easy A because she curves like 50 points at the end of the semester. Failed one of three tests and still got an A. Definitely take her
I don't know why everyone says she's so difficult! She's a little ditzy, and sometimes talks too fast, but goes out of her way to help you out ( gave the class her home # to call about notes, grades, etc ). It was an easy A for me.
Nice lady. Wants everyone to do well, but her tests are hard and very unorganized. Multiple choice tests are all over the place. Comes to class late and give two test dates for all tests. Its your call. Never went to class.
pay attention and take good notes in class. tests can be tricky but she gives a massive curve at the end of the semester. she has a great personality, really knows what shes talking about, and always lets you out early.
BEST TEACHER EVER! funny, nice, and a super teacher. SHE made the final extra credit. test are hard but gives you study guide thats tells you exactly what is on the test. study and it an A!!!
Emma Jean is awesome...two take home papers, she takes the higher of the two and uses that one twice, so basically if you do well on the first paper you don't have to take the final. To do well on the papers you have to go to class and take notes unless you feel like reading 50 cases on your own.
Really nice and fun. She makes the class very interesting and keeps everyone laughing. This is the best teacher I have had at UD.
This class was so easy i thought it was a joke, seriously. I didn't read the book once, i didn't even buy it, and I got an A with ease. As long as you go to class, when she actually has class (she's been known to cancel class), your good to go.
she is the best professor EVER!! tells great stories. Cancelled class for someones birthday and made our final optional cause she felt bad for missing class. Dont buy the book just take good notes cause the questions on the exam come straight from your notes. Easiest A I ever got. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
Quite possibly the best prof here, Her class is always interesting, she tells the best stories, and she actually cares about us students. I missed class because I overslept and she offered to go over the material that I missed after class! She's great.
she's really funny. you have to go to class, she gives all the notes you'll need for the test. i only ever used to book to look up terms.
Really easy class. I'm interested in this stuff, so I loved it. Never read the book. Just go to class, take good notes, and study for the test and you will be fine. She sometimes goes off for a while, but it can be a fun break from class. I found the material very interesting. Defnately would recommend the class.
I have to disagree with the others- took WEEKS to give back tests. Wasted entire class periods telling stories and wasting your time when you could have just not came. The book is a waste of money. She left us hanging about our grades until the VERY end. it was very annoying and rude. I would not recommend having her for this class.
Although it did take her a LONG time to get back tests and give grades, she was a great teacher, really loved the material and had interesting lectures most of the time. Story lectures are a great break, as long as it doesnt take up the entire class. Grading system is MORE than fair to the students - can get a good grade with minimal effort
Tests are tricky and difficult. Material is not that hard, but very dry, boring. Go to class and take good notes and you should be ok.
She goes off on her own path so ofter you have no idea where she is in class. Its not the easiest material but she makes it harder w/ how unstructured her teaching style is and the Exams took forever and a day to get back. She was nice and easy to talk to if you needed help, but u didn't really want to...
nice teacher but her test formats really are unfair. The material can be difficult, especially with how she writes her tests. She runs off on so many tangents in class, you often walk away considering the class a total waste.
Great professor -- very enthusiastic about what she teaches. Exams are not difficult -- questions are designed to make you think. She does a great job breaking down the cases. Highly recommend!
I'm STILL waiting for that email with my final exam grade.....nice woman, but a very very very disorganized professor.
makes the otherwise boring material fun. yes, it's a lot of work and reading but she makes it enjoyable.
Makes class fun. Make sure to really outline her review sheets before the exam because most of the test is directly from the sheet. Exams can be tricky with the "all of these / none of these" choices. Enjoyed her class more so in winter than during the semester.
Made the class very interesting. However, her tests were very demanding. Do not fall behind or you'll regret it.
Yay! Great professor with much enthusiasm. Class was easy as long as you take good notes and know the terms she outlines from the book. Gives lecture outlines and book topics before the exams. Exams are wordy and a bit tricky, but read each carefully and you'll do fine. Oh My Gosh! Highly Recommended.
Great professor!! Brings alot of enthusiasm to her subject matter...you need to take notes though as her tests are demanding.
Professor Joseph is awesome. She goes everything a lot, so its all very clear. just take detailed notes. I recommend typing up your notes when she gives you the outline and studying off of that. The tests are a peice of cake if you go to class and take notes
basically, this class was kind of a joke. i've heard that she's harder this semester, but when i took her in 06f we hardly ever talked about sociology. she gives lots of opts for extra credit. when i had her, all of the tests were open book. she's a really nice person, kind of crazy, in a good way! i enjoyed this class
She's amazing. Easy to pass this class as long as you attend class and take notes. She is really clear, and always makes you laugh. I highly recommend taking her class.
one of my favorite professors at UD... funny and entertaining and really respectful of her students. test questions can be tricky but take good notes and you'll do fine. take her class!
Very nice woman. Always excited about teaching. recomend taking class with her.
GREAT TEACHER!
She is HILARIOUS!!! makes class fun to go to, so I actually usually went, and she helps to explain things in a very entertaining matter. slow grader, and her tests are kinda stupid, cuz in order to know 1 answer, you need to know 2 things that are totally unrelated. GREAT prof overall though even though the tests are hard, still very fun professor
Shes really funny. She picked great movies. Need a SOCI class, take her!!!!
i heart emma jean
Difficult exams. No other grades but exams. NO usage of book. Exams come straight from lect. Go to lect & take good notes and you'll be fine.
Emma Jean is one of the best professors ever...take her class if you can...the tests are hard but she makes class so much fun and enjoyable to sit through...i liked her class so much, i am taking another class that she teaches!!
She is the best professor I've had. I actually looked forward to seeing her. She spent a lot of time learning our names, but she knows them! She is a great teacher and is very clear. I decided to take her class based on the comments seen here, and it was not a mistake. I would recommend her. NOTE: she takes a while to grade papers but get over it
Super easy class, for exams she gives you a study guide and the questions come straight from that. You don't need to read the book; she gives you the terms you need on the study guide. Extra credit is built into the class and you get extra credit for attending. SUPER EASY.
I love this teacher! SO funny. Gives really good notes, explains things very clearly. Tests aren't that easy but she gives a study guide before each one. Extra credit is built in..there are only two tests so if you do bad on one you need it. Attendance isn't taken & final is optional :). Don't bother doing the reading!
Very boring lectures that don't go anywhere or get to any point. I never opened the textbook and stopped going to class when I realized she doesn't stay on topic for more than a minute and gives a complete outline of everything you need to know a few days before each test.
Sweet professor. Funny. Tests can be tricky, but not hard to get a good grade. I reccomend her.
Two test are pretty hard. However, she curves the grades which helps out. She has a lot of funny stories and always lets the class out 20 minutes early. Take her if you dont want to learn much.
Wonderful teacher!!! Always has stories that will make you laugh. Such a thrill. An absolute delight to have. Little learning of text actually occurs, other then about whats going on in her life and everything around it. Easy grade if you sign up for it.
Really nice and makes class fun. Lectures are a tad unorganized, very long, and very boring. This class would be better if you are actually interested in the subject. No papers. Tests are ridic. very difficult- study hard.
She seems like such a nice person, but this class was not a fave. A little chaotic and very repetitive. Lectures aren't too helpful, then the tests are surprisingly hard.
Great teacher!
DONT TAKE THIS CLASSSSSS. Tests are soooo hard. Seriously, dont take it
very funny & very nice lady. her tests are hard and the material is a lot, but just make sure you study every single case on flash cards & only study the key terms in the chapters she makes you read. overall, you have to LIKE the material..extra credit opportunities will help
Really cool prof. Gives really good notes, explains things clearly, though a little repetitive. Tests aren't the easiest but she gives a great study guide before each one. No need to read the textbook. There are only two tests, extra credit opportunity, attendance isn't taken & final is optional. =]
This professor teaches Sociology too. She's pretty goofy. She makes class interesting but she veers off topic really easily. Then she never talks about what she meant to cover in class. Then tests come and hit you like a brick. You're like "We learned this?" Not a bad professor, just different. Cute and nice...but different.
BEST PROFESSOR AT UD!She is absolutely hilarious!! Her exams are multiple choice, but tricky. But she will make you laugh and help you if you need it. She explains everything really well, you just have to study really hard for the exams. Final is usually optional. I would recommend taking any class of hers...I've had them all.
She's an interesting prof, keeps class interesting, very goofy but endearing. Her tests though are very difficult and you really have to know the material. You also have to read the textbook because she never mentions anything from it.
I LOVE HER! She is so intelligent, so funny, and so helpful. I loved going to class and listening to her lecture. You have to study for her test because they are a little bit tricky, but she lets you know exactly what will be on them, and it's fun information anyway.
Easily distracted, and gets off topic 80% of the time. When on topic, however, she is a great teacher, and lessons are fun and interesting.
I LOVE HER! She is AMAZING!
Great prof!!Really fun, keeps class interesting- Recommend her classes- very fair grading-usually 3 tests
She's an awesome teacher. She does get distrcted, but that's half the fun! She grades fairly, and knows the topics well.
Emma Jean is a fantastic teacher! She's extremely personable and has a lot of fun giving her lectures. She really knows what shes talking about. The only problem I've found is that she speaks extremely quickly and you have to take notes directly from her. If you don't listen or take notes during class then don't take her!
Very demanding, lost of reading, 80% of exam ?s are from lecture, so its almost mandatory. Exams are very tricky, they have alot of none of the above/all of the above/ both a and b etc..She tries to trick you, class average on 1st exam was 37/60, and thats with 5 extra credit questions..Hard class, dry material, not a bad professor, but hard class
Passionate teacher, but exams are tricky and difficult. All lecture based and only 3 exams. Average exam scores are low.
attendance is basically mandatory bc majority of questions on exams come from lecture. 3 multiple choice exams only. funny, nice, explains things a million times until you understand material which is SO HELPFUL
LOVE her. her lectures can be kind of boring and repetitive but she gets the material across. material is hard though and must study for exams days or weeks prior to them. questions on exams are a) answer b) answer c) both a & b d) neither a & b ..SO HARD. hardest class of the semester but def my favorite. learned a lot :)
The class is very dull, and if you are not a CRJU major, its terrible. Emma Jean expects you to know the CRJU system prior to the class. Only 3 exams, which includes the final, which is optional. Takes forever to get back your exams and gets so sidetracked in class. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Class is boring, goes over the same material too much! As long as you take notes and read the book you should be fine. You have to know a LOT of court cases and the final is optional.
Hilarious woman! Has the most amusing way of putting things. Goes over material over and over and is open to questions. If you read the book and study really really hard you could do well. Tests are hard but it's still a great class. She may be my favorite prof at UD!
Very nice lady i thought the information was interesting but the test are hard and you will have to study a lot just to get a good grade but fun class with 3 test she also makes the final optional
Such a sweet and kind lady. Definitely wants to help and get to know you, office hours are very helpful. Need to attend class, 60% of the tests are based off lectures. Tests are hard but if you study it is possible to pass. She wants you to succeed and will help wherever she can. When I took the course, the final was optional.
Okay, so Emma Jean is literally one of the coolest/nicest professors I've had at UD so far. BUT, her tests are EXTREMELY difficult if you do not study. First test I studied about a week before the exam and I got a 40/60 (D+)... which was above the average test score in the class. Final is optional, but TAKE IT. it wont hurt, only help.
MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR. He lectures are HIGHLY interesting and she is so funny! I wish she taught all the classes i was in! If you study the study lecture notes and read the book you will go great! Some say the exams are tough but honestly i got an A on every test! As long as you did your studying you will be fine!!! AMAZING WOMAN.
EJ is a sweet sweet lady. that being said, her lectures are really really boring and her tests are very hard. you have to read. you have to go to class. upside is the final is usually optional
Emma Jean is an awesome lady. She wants all her students to do well and is super helpful during office hours. Her class is definitely challenging and requires attendance each class, good note-taking and a bit of reading from the book. If you put in a few nights before the exams you should be able to get at least a B in the class.
Emma Jean is super easy to listen to and explains it in a clear way over and over so it sticks in your head. Not too much reading is required, a little is enough (vocab). Her tests are tricky but if you learn how to study for them they are very fair. Highly recommend. FOCUS ON CATEGORIES OF CASES NOT DETAILS. Also attend lectures.
Emma Jean is a great professor! You must attend class!!! Book is not used except for vocab. Exams are hard but doable & the final is optional! I definitely RECOMMEND her!
Awesome teacher and person. Her tests are hard, but once you figure out how to take them, you're set. She's really helpful too
This is not a 200 level course. Her exams are extremely difficult and your grade is composed of 3 exams only. Class attendance is not mandatory, but if you want to pass you better show up and take notes. Most questions on the exams come from lectures and small section from the book. I passed with decent grade but only after putting in lots of work.
Emma Jean is a very nice person, however, i am not so sure i like her as a professor. Tends to be bulk-heavy with material sporadically on certain lecture days which i am not a fan of. Knowledgable information esp if youre interested in going to law school. Final is optional which she doesnt tell you. So bust your ass with passing the 1st 2 exams.
She's easy to talk to, but her tests are crazy. Very specific, sometimes more specific then the actual lecture. Tests were very detailed. Learned a lot, but not sure if its worth such a low grade. A lot of this material is in other classes like CRJU 375 and others and its really not much different so take O'Connor for 375 if you can instead.
She's AWESOME! She really does want everyone to do well. She doesnt use powerpoint but her lectures are pretty good. I didnt buy the textbook because she speaks about most of the material in class. 3 tests, the 3rd test is the final & she makes it optional at the end. Pay attention & write down everything she says
Go to class and take notes. Test are very specific but you can definitely pass! She loads on the information but provides study guides and they are very useful!
The best professor ever! She is always there to help and try to explain something if you don't get it or understand. Her lectures are always a blast because she is super funny, but don't let that fool you because her exams are HARD! If you do good on the first 2 you can choose if you want to take the final or not. I strongly recommend taking her!
Emma Jean is a good teacher, but her lectures get super boring. Her first test is super hard because you don't know what to expect, but by the second test, you'll be fine. Final is optional. Emma Jean is always there and happy to help if you have a problem.
This class was mandatory for my major and she is the ABSOLUTE WORST professor I have had at UD. He exams are extremely difficult and tricky and no matter what you study, your grades will disappoint. Definitely would try to avoid this teacher at all costs.
All you need to do to really do well in this class is to pay attention and take notes. Lectures get a little boring and you occasionally need to make a conscious effort to pay attention, but she gives you an outline for the test and is extremely helpful for studying. The final is optional and she does what she can to improve your grade.
Professor Joseph is a really enthusiastic professor that does put in effort to help her students and be accommodating. On the other hand, tests, there are three, are EXTREMELY difficult no matter how much studying you put in. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want to pass its recommended.
The hardest class I took i've taken so far. Tests are extremely difficult regardless of how much you study. Emma Jean Joseph was really sweet when I met with her during office hours and did what she could to help, but the class was still very difficult.
She's amazing. Knows her stuff inside & out. Tough class, but if u: go to every lecture, write down Everything she says, & stay engaged - you'll do well. She's more than willing to help but u have to ask for it. Readings very helpful. Crazy interesting if you like studying the Justice system. Important to understand what u learn not just memorize.
She doesn't use PowerPoints or anything in lectures, so she can be hard to follow. Her lectures are long and repetitive, so reading the textbook is a must. There are two MC tests and both are hard. Optional final. Challenging class, but I didn't go to class often, studied hard for the two exams, opted out of the final, and finished with an A-.
very nice lady. will take the time to exlain things in depth if you don't understand. would say 98% of the time she knows what she is talking about, which is better than other professors at UD. take her. you won't be dissapointed. pay attention and take good notes and you will be fine.
I LOVE EMMA JEAN! She is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had.
My favorite professor at UD. She knows what she's talking about and makes the class very interesting. She's so funny, cute, and such a sweet lady. She takes the time to answer questions in depth. Make sure to know the court justices! She doesn't use any PowerPoints or online materials, very lecture heavy, so make sure to go to class.
It's all lecture with no Powerpoint but she'll usually write keywords on the board. Attendance is optional but her exams are lecture heavy so I recommend showing up. She gives out review guides that are generally helpful. Also had to learn 40+ court cases for the exams so be prepared for that (the textbook helps)! Pretty difficult but it's worth it
I have taken 5 classes with this professor. Yes 5 classes. Got an A in every singe one. She is really helpful but her exams are really hard. You will have to study really hard but you will come out well prepared for your upper level CRJU classes and will be ahead of the game. Love this professor so much I made her my advisor.
I love Professor Joseph, she is very specific in her lectures and makes her points clear and easy to understand. She gives great feedback - make the time to go to her office hours. You need to attend class semi-regularly, and get the notes from someone if you're absent. She doesn't use power points, so pay close attention to what she says.
Emma Jean is an awesome professor! You can tell she loves what she does and is excited about it. Exams are not very hard, and she has extra credit questions. My piece of advice is GO TO CLASS, she doesn't go off notes or powerpoints, she just talks and you have to take notes. Take good notes and study for exams and you'll do fine.
Joseph is one of the smartest professors at UD. She gave 2 exams and the final was optional (but she wont tell you that until the week before the exam). Her exams are very specific, but if you attend the lectures you will have the information. About 20% of the questions come from the textbook. Had to study very hard but ended with an A.
Loves to hear herself talk, but she tells the story of each legal case, which makes them more real and easier to remember, in my opinion. Talks on and on, but made the last exam optional.
She is the cutest lady you will ever meet. I honestly wanted her to be my grandma. She knows her stuff and lectures for the full class. Her tests are hard but the final is optional. It's definitely a class you have to study for but its worth it.
She is absolutely the BEST professor I've ever had. She is very knowledgeable, clear, and intelligent. Also the sweetest woman--willing to help and wants her students to succeed. Lectures are so important to attend and material on exams is mostly straightforward and straight from lecture. Would take 202 1000 times over again with her if I could
Emma Jean was the best professor I've had at UD so far. Her lectures are never boring and she always explains everything in the easiest way to remember it. As long as you go to class and take notes, you won't have any problem doing well.
Loved her! studied for maybe a total of 2 hours and ended up with a total of 298/300 points total.
Her lectures are 100% oral, you cannot skip. However, she will repeat herself and write on the board some to help you. Her exams are all multiple choice but difficult. She offers a lot of extra credit questions on the exam though. If you're willing to put in some effort, you'll do great. Overall I love her and I would absolutely take another class.
omg. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF TAKING THIS FOR A BREADTH DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE A CRIMINAL JUSTICE MAJOR MAYBE BUT THIS WAS SO UNNECESSARILY HARD. She doesn't use canvas or sakai or have any online gradebook and just speaks out lectures so you can never miss. Just don't do it. She is very educated and nice though xo
Emma Jean is easily one of the best people at UD. There's no slides so good notes are key. She repeats herself a lot so you won't miss anything. Exams are not tricky if you know memorize. Put in a little effort, take good notes & go to class & it's an easy A. Loved her & loved this class!!!
Super nice lady!! She gives an insane amount of extra credit it's literally impossible to do bad in this class. Everyone does bad on the first exam which makes you think you're doing bad in the class but then after the second exam she shows you how she curves everything and literally everyone gets an A/B. Just go to class and take notes and ur good
Very good breadth choice. Easy if you go to class and take notes.
Loved Emma Jean but this was the most boring class I've ever taken. Only take this class if you actually care about the specifics of the justice system like specific laws and court cases. Exams are hard and theres a lot of material which she rarely gets a;ll the way through. She's so nice but it wasn't worth it.
Only graded by 4 things. Two papers and two exams. Papers are 6-8 pages, but not that bad. She then spends the next three weeks doing presentations on those papers. Two essay exams, but she gives you choices and the questions beforehand. Loved Emma Jean
Prof. Joseph is a very good intructer. She didnt require a book and is very lecture heavy. If you dont want to sit for a long lecture, shes not for you. You have to take good notes to do well on her exams, which are definitely not easy. But, she is funny and engaging. I would recommend her highly.
This was definitely the hardest class I have ever taken. All she does is lecture and writes down some words on the board so you have to listen. I only got a good grade in the class because I studied super hard to the final. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!!! having her explain the material again was helpful also the final is made up o some past questions.
Professor Joseph was really nice, but her class is extremely boring. Just four or so exams based on lectures, which are incredibly hard to sit through. She repeats herself a ton so it's hard to miss things, but really hard to actually want to listen to what she is saying. Nice, but brutal class to want to listen
Very sweet woman that cares a lot about the material, but she doesn't use any technology. Lectures are completely vocal with a few words on the chalk board, so it's very hard to stay interested. Nothing posted online so if you miss class or any notes you're screwed. Graded on only 4 exams. Very nice woman, but just know it's an old-fashioned class
A very kind professor, I enjoyed her class despite the topics not always being exciting. She is an entertaining lecturer and I wish the class had not been moved online, but I'm rating her based off the portion of the year that was on campus where the class was much better. Tests are the only grade and definitely require lots of study time.
She is soooo sweet! I love her class, you have to take notes but its nothing too rigorous. She gives you her number in case you need help too. She is good at explaining things in depth too... sometimes hard to focus in her lectures but even when you zone out you'll be alright
If you are a searching for an easy CRJU credit this was it. Her class was full of fun movies to watch but lots of essays to write. It is very hard to fail this class unless you do not attempt to do anything. She was willing to be flexible with deadlines with different assignments and provide opportunities for extra credit.
she is so nice but oh my goodness she is unorganized as heck. like seriously good lucky trying to get an email from her or any contact with her at all out of class. She also makes quizzes online and you would think oh that makes things easier. Nah ur wrong good luck getting anything higher than a 15/20 on those. also she very lecture heavy
literally the worst professor i ever had. never has a lesson plan. just talks. gives incorrect information. quizzes are impossible. lectures are messy and hard to understand. never gives directions for projects and such. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
I love her as a person but her teaching style is a little outdated. She talks very fast and it is hard to take notes during her lectures. Our class as a whole suggested that she uses powerpoints when she lectures but she never did. Her quizzes never seem to be on what she talks about. I was able to save my grade with the essays we needed to write.
So so easy. She means well and wants to help you. There are a few quizzes but easy when you are able to use your notes on them. Two final papers but there is enough notice for the assignments that you shouldn't struggle to get them done. She was overall a really good professor.
Honestly hated the class and was surprised I got a good grade. Her grading policy is confusing the only way to pass is to watch her "optional review lectures" and attend class and do all extra credit. Also, pay attention in class. She loves to ramble about off-topic stuff so be prepared.
Honestly easiest class ive taken. 10 quizzes you can take online, and 2 papers at the end of the year. You know about the papers the first week of class, and you have a presentation along with the essay that you work on all year. Extra credit was 5 short writings, and helped bring grade up atleast one letter.
Never answers emails.
