I really like this course. It could be really boring, since it's required, but Professor Ramey makes coming worthwhile.

She is wonderful. She does teacher response on all papers so you know what to correct and is willing to help you at any time.

I didn't really like Ramey at first, but now I think she's pretty cool. Sometimes she brings in food to keep us awake. She's really helpful cuz she writes a ton of comments on the papers you hand in and goes out her way to help you with anything.

Every writ 150 class doesn't give you a grade till the final. Emma was great, she is so helpful and gives you so many oppurtunities to come see her to work on papers one on one. If you don't then its your own fault. She's also REALLY leinant about paper deadlines, you can email ur papers to her

Emma is a really cool professor to take for a creative writing course. It's obvious that she loves writing and that she likes to have a little fun too. She assigns really cool writing topics and grades papers well - a ton of helpful comments. If you are taking WRT 219, consider Professor Ramey.

Emma is like a friend, i really became a pretty good writer(which i never anticipated!)with her help.She has great ideas, offers tons of help opportunities, makes resources available to you and REALLY goes all out to make things ideal to help fit writing into your life. easy going class. take her.

At first, I didn't like her because the class was really slow and I was a pretty decent writer. But then I realized she was actually pretty cool. She brought us homemade cookies, banana bread, and candy. Also, the comments on the paper were extremely helpful! She was also always there to help.

Emma is one the the best professors! Not only is she passionate about writing, but she really wants students to pass and do well. I mean, how many professors re-read a students paper 4 times via e-mail, each time sending back valuable comments? If you struggle with writing, take this class!

This prof is very nice, and is stuck with the unenviable task to teaching basic grammar to Juniors in college because they didn't take the test out exam. She makes it as painless as possible, which is like saying she makes an amputation without anethetic as painless as possible... not very.

Tough grader, but she lets you rewrite the papers for a higher grade. Willing to help and is pretty understanding. Class is boring, but that's because it's WRT 305 and pretty elementary - not really her fault.

What ppl have said is true. She tries but some time you get tired of learning about grammar when you're a junior. You do get to rewrite papers and she will help if you ask. I enjoyed taking this class.

She is really helpful, but the essays are very dry and boring. Take the class credit, no credit and you don't have to worry about it.

Loved this class and Prof Ramey. She is an interesting lady. Very nice and funny. We talked one on one a lot and she became like a friend to me. She's very helpful and gives great feedback on papers. Some of the readings aren't the greatest, but it's all a matter of taste. Great Prof.

Very helpful when I was in the hospital, let me email her a paper I had written because I missed a day when everyone was editting each others' papers. Even gave me an extension on that paper.

She is such a good professor! Definitely go to her during her office hours and she is always willing to help. Besides the fact that she usually lets us out early and brings candy for us :)

She is a GREAT prof. I would definitely suggest her if you aren't sure who to take for wrt 150. Very easy to talk to and always available for help, even willing to help students outside of her office hours. For the final portfolio, she takes into consideration how often you contacted her outside of class which can help your grade. :)

great prof. had her for 150 and then again for 219. very helpful outside of class and was a very fair grader. definitely take her.

EMMA IS AMAZING! she gives your very helpful comments on your paper and is VERY willing to meet with you outside of class and even allows you to email her your paper and she will check it over! and we pretty much always get let out early! TAKE HER CLASS!!

One of my favorite profs, by far. Such an easy class, and Emma is SO helpful.

Her class was filled with dead birds, which is something we all learned to just work around by mid-terms. Still, she hid those damn birds under this purple skirt, long and tattered— she claims chiffon although she said merino to be mohair, so is wrong about that—until eventually the whole place reeked of decay. She also grades fair, has nice hair.

She is a great prof! She teaches well and gives you very good opinions on your papers. She's not afraid to let you know what you need to work on, but you can tell that she does that to help you be the best writer that you possibly can! If you HAVE to take this class I recommend it be with her it will be all the more enjoyable.

WRT150 overall was a waste of time, but it's required for all GV students to pass it. Emma was an extremely nice and intelligent teacher. She is very approachable and helpful. Her goal is to get every one of her students through this course as painlessly as possible and sets up the class well compared to a lot of other WRT150 instructors. TAKE HER!

I love Miss Emma. She is very helpful and wants every one of her students to succeed. She picks more modern topics for papers which makes them more enjoyable to write. It's a waste of time to go to class so use up your four allowed absences, just space them out. Emma makes it so easy, I recommend having her for a WRT 150 prof in a heartbeat!

Emma was an excellent professor! By far my favorite so far. She was really easy, and straightforward with her assignments. She didn't make us do any extra writing, just the four papers that were required and she gave us plenty of time at the end of the semester to proof read our papers. I would definitely take her again for another writing class!

Professor Ramey was absolutely amazing. The class was miserably boring, but having her was worth it. She is honestly the best WRT 150 out there. Always helpful and besides the 1st paper, she doesn't BS you, no busy work just some reading of example stories, but I never read them and I did great. She is the teacher to take, she even let me write one of my papers on Zombies, now what other prof does that?

She is a great teacher! We only had to write three papers the entire semester while many of my friends are explaining that they have to write 6-7!! The class can be extremely boring which is typical of a writing class however if you let her know that you want and A in the class she will challenge you and help you strive towards that goal.

Just WRT 150 is just unpopular class that nobody wants to do but have to. Hard to get "A" portfolio bc 3 profs grade it an do an average then. I got a B portfolio and then a "+" bc of participation so I'm happy w a my +B

She is very helpful with giving feedback and wanting the best for all her students, but you must put the work in and spend lots of time on your papers in order to get that A. Emma Ramey is the definition of GOAT. She is so nice and cares a lot about her students. She answered so many of my questions through email the night before our portfolios are due. The class shouldn't have to meet for 3 hours a week, but it is easy to get a good grade as long as you take advantage of her willingness to help!

After taking her Writing 150 class, all of my other professors seemed sub-par. She was so helpful and informative. Most of all, her kindness and passion for teaching set a new bar for how awesome a professor can be!

The class wasn't the most fun to sit through but since it was a foundations course I don't think it had anything to do with the prof. but more to do with the content and requirements. She gave great feedback on essays in order to improve your grade. You could tell she really did care about how well you did. Her office hours were also very helpful.

Gives good feedback on your work and is always willing to help you out. As long as you do the reading responses and the work for them as well as the exercises you'll be fine.

Ramey was very kind and caring. She offers great suggestions for paper. She can ramble a little but she is a good professor and knowledgeable and approachable. I felt very comfortable asking her for help. She has us work in groups to review our rough drafts and made a comfortable learning space.

Emma is one of my favorites from this semester. She's very realistic and wants to help you succeed in creative writing. Her feedback and discussions are very helpful. Also, do her "in class workshop" activities as they will help you with your writing. Overall, great professor and would highly recommend to anybody.

Emma is such a caring professor. Her workshops are so helpful and will give you tons of ideas for your writing. She does send out announcements via Blackboard that are very helpful. Even during COVID-19, she made the switch as seamless as possible considering the unpredictable circumstances. Overall, one of my FAVORITE professors at GVSU.

Prof Ramey is great and she sets you up to get a good grade on your portfolio. The paper deadlines are a little fast, but they aren't too hard to meet and if you need an extension she will give you one. When she edits your papers she will give you feedback on what grade your paper is now and what corrections you have to make to get an A portfolio.

Assignments consisted of 3 essays that you work on throughout the semester and a few discussion posts. The only downside of her class is that her lectures are monotonous/not very interesting, but shes a good prof.

WRT 150 is set up very poorly because your grade is basically just three papers. Professor Ramey is very accessible outside of class for if you want her to look at your paper more. Professor Ramey saved all of my portfolios from being mediocre. She truly cares about her students and their well being- both in and out of the classroom. She's incredibly helpful and even though her lectures seem a little redundant, she makes up for it with her conference time outside of class.

Prof. Ramey was a great professor for the difficulty of this class. She did an amazing job with a workload schedule that was manageable to anyone. Three essays with weeks to write each and a one-on-one meeting with her to discuss what can be improved. She is very kind and understanding and wants the best for each one of her students,

She is super supportive. Even with the kids in class who didn't try that hard, she still put in a ton of effort. It's important to go to class because you cover a lot. She values people who raise their hand and talk too so don't be shy. You also don't really have to do all of the reading... I didn't do much reading and still passed with an A+.

Get ready to hear, "Okay sooo..." She is a great professor and understanding. You have 3 essays to write throughout the semester and she has office meetings for her to give you great feedback on the essays. The assignments we did during class seemed useless sometimes and she would be on our butt time to time when my friend group was talking.
