Has a horrible style of teaching and is very hard to understand. I didn't know what my grade was until 2 hours before the final. Dosen't let you know how you are doing in the class. Very unorganized. DO NOT HAVE HIM AS TEACHER!!!

Easily the worst teacher I have ever had. He has no plan for teaching, no follow up. Every class he shows up late, he doesn't return homework or tests back until a month or so later. He marks answers wrong with no explaination of why it's wrong. He is unhelpful as I tried to talk to him multiple times he just blows you off. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Very sloppy, he never goes over homwork, you get back tests a month after you take them, he is always late and has no compassion for meeting his students. I tried to meet with him to discuss my grades, which I hadn't a clue what it would be, and he kept blowing me off until the LAST day to drop classes with a W, he still blew me off and I withdrew.

Rude when I asked for help about homework and depends on his 2 assistants to answer questions. His assistants are current students and not very helpful. He reviews your work, but if you need help, you have to ask his "assistants". So, you?re learning from your peers, not the instructor. He?s also very anal about his homework title format, look out.

Spends more time nitpicking students' "distracting" habits in class than actually teaching, ironically being the distraction himself. Is VERY anal about the syntax of work, beyond any course I have taken anywhere. Students spent more time worrying about wording it for his foreign understanding over learning the material. If you dont have your text book open 24/7 he will scold you and take away participation points. Probably a good guy, but a HORRIBLE teacher. I took his online class and whenever we had any questions, he would go off on some weird, irrelevant tangent. Once I asked if there was any extra credit work since i missed a few labs, and his response was "EXTRA credit when you have a 100% and want EXTRA points." Also, he had super bad breath.

Grades down for things that shouldn't be graded down on. If you miss one word on a definition he will mark you all wrong. He has unrealistic expectations. Completely awful teacher. Ridiculous. Signed up for an online class. I've taken online classes before ALL OF THEM contacted me through email before the class started or posted things on WebCT in advance. He doesn't post anything until two days before the class starts announcing a mandatory meeting. Only two days warning. Some people work AND go to school. Thanks a lot!

This man is horrible. I bit the bullet and tried to do every little detail of his that he requires on everything. I took a test, didn't miss one answer but got 89% on it because I simplified left to right instead of top to bottom or not making a solution set for a simple equation. AWFUL Teacher! No matter how hard you won't succeed

Don't take his class. He should not be teaching. Ask him a question and get a really long and slow weird, unrelated answer. Micro manages the way you do math. Otherwise, he's somewhat cool.

His lectures are no help and you are left alone to teach yourself. When you ask for help he spends half the class talking about irrelevant issues and instead of helping the students he argues and blames them for not reading. You are on your for homework and tests

Absolute worst class I have ever had to take. I can't believe this man is still employed. On top of all this the man accused me of lying about my fathers death to skip school when he had just passed away only a week before.

Great guy with the best intentions but unfortunately teaching just isn't for him. He is completely unorganized and nit-picky and in turn we managed to get nothing done. I have no doubt the man knows his math. If you gave him a calculus 3 test he would probably ace it. But he shouldn't be teaching college kids. Whether you take math as low as pre algebra or high as calculus 3, it's hard to succeed with him. No more than 15 people finish up or even pass. I had to drop. I wasn't about to let him screw up my gpa.

Don't ever take his class. He is so unhelpful, he doesn't care whether you understand the material or not and if you don't do the work his way then its wrong even if you got the right answer. If you miss one day of class you're really far behind (even though he only gets through 2 problems in 2:30 hours). Just save your GPA and find another class.

Do not take him unless you got no life. That means you're not working, don't have other classes, don't have other commitments, don't have kids, and you're single. He expects you to spend at least 10 hours outside of class even though he barley teaches. You're left to teach yourself

I used to be really good at math but I feel mentally stunted in math because of him. I can only hope one day I can find a math teacher that's willing to go out of their way to help students. He expects your brain to be magic by being fluent right away even though it takes time. He also needs to understand this class isn't the only life we have.

Worst Professor I have ever had in ANY class. Twenty three students, including myself, walked out of his class to the Dean after multiple complaints. I guess they cant fire him because he has a contract with the school. Sucks that I received an F due to this. STAY AWAY FROM HIM

He means well and his philosophy that everyone in the classroom, including himself, is a student is very unique. However, he argues with students, goes off on tangents, and I feel like I'm hardly learning anything. He is not good at explaining concepts and he's just bad in general.

He means well, which is the only good going for him. Lectures are extremely disorganized, and he tends to write OVER existing board notes as well as your test answers when providing feedback (which even little kids know not to do, b/c you can't read it??). Feedback is unhelpful ("correcting" synonyms). Lots of self-studying if you want that A.

His lectures are redundant, it takes him 1 hour to get through 1 example that should've taken 5 minutes. He doesn't directly answer your question, you have to find it yourself through his robotic reply. His lectures are VERY unorganized. BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY, AVOID THIS MAN.

Let me get one thing out of the way: he is a great guy. He is friendly and forthcoming, and loves to give motivational speeches. However, as a teacher he is a 0 out of 5. He is scatterbrained and unorganized in lectures, and forgets to upload homework all the time. His lectures do little top help, he takes hours to go over a single problem. Avoid.

Horrible teacher, 3 weeks in and I'm ready to drop (too late I know) because of his insanely disorganized lectures (erases half the things he writes) and his extreme rudeness (called me out for having my head on the desk and then mocked me for 5 minutes). Worst professor I've ever had. He's just plain awful - both disorganized and mean. Not only did he try stuffing his life philosophy down our throats, but he literally locked students outside the classroom if they failed to make it back from lunch in time (he gave us only 15 minutes). He was condescending, uncommunicative, and disrespectful.

I took his summer six week course for MATH 120, I swear he spent the entire first week on the syllabus he didnt teach half the textbook and though he didnt test you on it, if you play to go further with math you're screwed. It's very lecture heavy and test heavy he wants math done "HIS" way and will dock points if you dont. Dont take his class!

Hands down the worst teacher I've ever had. I asked him so many times throughout the semester for a grade check and he refused to give it to me. He finally agreed to tell me the morning before the final. He told me to meet him at 9 and shows up 54 minutes late. I ended up failing the class because all semester long I had no idea what my grade was.

He takes FOREVER to go over a simple topic that should take less than 2 min but spends 2 hours on. Basically teaches none of the material required for test and quizzes. Unclear instructions on learning program and does not directly answer questions in class. EXTREMELY STRICT ON PHONE POLICY! Kicked student out of class and does not reply to emails.

Worst teacher I've ever had. He never posts the homework on time for ALEKS, always late to class, and goes on tangents that are not relating to the math lesson/class. He gives the class blank printer paper for tests, and is very strict on the phone policy. Avoid this teacher at all costs. Should have looked at the reviews first.

We are currently 2 chapters behind all the other stats classes. The only consistent thing about his class is how he stops mid-lecture to waste time reprimanding students for not writing everything down or kicking students out for not bringing all of their materials. HUGE micromanager and somehow the tests are mainly on vocab.

If you have a choice, do NOT take this teacher! He doesn't give back tests and he doesn't explain concepts at all. Get ready to teach yourself basically everything (which is very hard considering its math). He loves calling out students and ranting rather than actually teaching or grading anything.

I'm so glad I only took this as a refresher course, otherwise I'm sure I would've failed. Lectures were slow and uninformative. Be prepared to get called on and have a good answer/question, otherwise he won't leave you alone for the rest of the class period (or semester). Nice enough guy at times, but I wouldn't recommend him if you want to learn.

His notes have little to no structure to them, which makes it very difficult to take notes. He spends too much class time reprimanding students for not having their materials. He loses track of time and will let us out late, which is frustrating. He assigns homework that we haven't even covered in class. Be ready to teach yourself.

If you have a choice, dont take this class with him. This is basically a self taught class. His classroom lectures and homeworks are very different. He is very unorganized and losses his train of thoughts here and there. Very strict about cell phone usage. Our class size narrows down to less than 50%

I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, when most of my classmates didn't like him. He was constantly making rude remarks to students. There was a student who clearly had anxiety in class, and Emmanuel would openly comments about it. I asked him for help, on several occasions and he would say " that's not my problem" Calc 182

My experience in this class was awful, I was confused most of the time and had no idea what we were learning. Homework was 100x harder than the material we learned in class. If I could take Calc 1 again, I would pick a different professor. He is very kind, and helpful in terms of personal matters though. He definitely cares, just bad at teaching.

He was absolutely by far the WORST college professor I have ever had. I literally came back to rate my professor to share how awful he was because I was thinking back on my first semester of college just now. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. He can't lecture for more than 2 minutes without rambling on about something non related to class. Do yourselves a favor

Not only is Emmanuel the worst teacher Ive ever had (if what he does can be considered teaching), he is also one of the worst people I have ever met. Tests are very easy if youve done minimal homework, but the ease is not worth having to put up with constant yelling and berating. I love math and I dreaded coming to class, even online from COVID

Avoid this prof if possible. Won't hesitate to call out students for meaningless/personal things and super unreasonable. Has a hard time staying on task and lectures are unclear and boring. Spent a ridiculous amount of time blaming students for technical issues and problems with zoom out of their control.

Don't do it. Just don't. This professor was not prepared for his COVID-ZOOM lectures. Most days, we spent as much time fixing issues on peoples Mics, cameras, and children/babies? Sometimes only half hour lecture for one and half hour class time. Lectures were barely legible. Hopefully he gets this fixed for next students.

I had a nightmare about this teacher last night and i felt the need to warn the people that are still taking his classes even though there are no good reviews about this teacher.

Awful online. Truly awful. Forced everyone to keep their microphone on during online exams, and CONSTANTLY interrogated people DURING exams, suspecting them of cheating. Class hemorrhaged down to just 12 people by the end of semester. Don't. Just, don't.

I signed up for a different professor and DVC San Ramon switched the class to this professor with no notification to the registered students. The reviews do not lie - he is terrible. You will not learn anything if you do teach yourself from the book. It's amazing that DVC employs someone who is devoid of any teaching ability. Avoid DVC SR math.

Extremely rude and doesnt actually teach. I have to teach myself from the book to even have a chance of passing. He gets mad at students with internet issues and tells them they should have called their ISP to ensure they have 100% uptime (this is not a thing, they cant promise anything.) Uses lockdown browser and watches you take exams.

One of the worst people I've ever met. Mostly talked about something unrelated to math, but we need to attend it with a camera on and unmuted for participation grade. If you turn off your camera, he will repeat calling your name literally for 3 min. He seemed normal only when he recorded the zoom to send it to the department. Why he is still hired.

the class has been over for 11 days and he still has not posted final grades. assigned a project worth 15% of your grade after the final was over. doesnt keep a grade book on canvas. you never know your grade in the class.

A NIGHTMARE! Do not take him. Homework, midterms and finals are easy but he requires you to open your camera and mic. Final grades are given 3 weeks after the end of the semester. Very rude and doesn't actually teach. 30 minutes are spent on him talking and dismissed the class 15 minutes late. I had to self study.

This is the worst professor I've ever dealt with. He forces you to turn your camera and mics on the entire class or he will kick you out. You cannot see your grade for the entirety of the semester because he "does not believe in grades". My class had to wait 3 weeks after grades were due to finally see our grade in the class, with no breakdown.

Gives so many homework before the exam or midterm. Very rude professor who wasted 30 minutes of the class talking, unrelated to math. Thick accent and requires your cam (sometimes mic) to be on at every meetings. Easy A if you are good in math and participates well. I had to self-taught calculus 1 because of him.

For the online class he uses the hawkes learning program, which does not give a lot of the functions for the ti-84 so I was manually doing most problems for a while and used youtube to learn for most of the work. He will generally only give a few days notice before exams and then will not post the exam on time.

A BIG FAT NO TRUST ME ON THIS. So was taking the final and was logged in on zoom through my phone because thats what he mandated. I received a phone call literally from my mother and my camera goes off for literal 5 seconds i decline the call and than he tells me I'm being kicked and receiving a 0. No options at all. Im stuck now

The teacher is extremely unorganized, he will completely ignore the syllabus schedule entirely and just start posting things with no warning. He will post things in the middle of the day on the day they are due with no announcements. You will have to teach yourself, and he never responds to emails. Loves to blame students for tech problems as well.

This guy says he's been teaching over 40 years. Obviously he's never taken time to hear his many critics. I really think he would be a great teacher at anything but math. He should have retired as soon as covid hit. What a waste of a career. Regardless of how many years he has left of teaching, he will not leave a good legacy

Ratings are true if you can avoid this class do it unless you're ready to put in long hours on hw. I wish I can say that the classes aren't mandatory because you just end up teaching yourself each chapter but they are if you want participation credit. Only upside I can give is he gives random extra credit because everyone in class is scoring low.

He's very unclear when lecturing and when asking for further clarification he gets annoyed. He's very strict with how you're allowed to take your tests and be in class. Your camera has to be on, unmuted, no headphones or earbuds, no hoodies. He doesn't respond to emails. And I never even got a grade it just said RD. I do not recommend him.

Terrible professor. Does not submit ANY grades. The faculty had to reach out to students to figure out why the professor had not turned in grades at the end of the semester. Does not know what he is doing online. Teaches painfully slow. Requires mic and camera on at all times. Does not respond to any emails or other contact.

Listen to the reviews! Emmanuel bullies students, made someone cry for not knowing an answer and continued to shame the student in front of everyone. He gets mad when you can't have your mic on even if you have a legitimate reason. He acts reasonable when he starts recording to show admin. One of the worst people I have ever met. Waste of semester. He didn't respond to any students for 2 weeks. Didnt provide anything like pre-recorded lectures, just a link to the software website. Did not grade assignments. Fully unreachable until some students reached out to admin. Another teacher replaced him. Our grades suffered. I had to teach myself everything. Thanks youtube.

Awful! Disorganized and so rude! Started semester off a week late and posted assignments sporadically, giving only days to complete. Used an online program for the modules, which we had to pay for - did no actual teaching. Offered office hours, but needed to cut it short and was confrontational with myself and the other student. Never posted grades
