Barthe is HILARIOUS!!! He makes class fun and interesting. The best part is that your NEVER in class the full class period. Every class he ALWAYS has something weird to say.

Very funny. Study his notes AND read the chapters in the book. His notes are crazily confusing. Would recommend to anyone. Best teacher in the field, IMO. Show up to class, and everything will be fine.

He's a really cool guy. The class is hilarious and he ends it in about 30 minutes. Make sure you take plenty of notes and read the book. You're guaranteed an A if you do.

He's so funny. One time he picked up some flowers and talked to them like a criminal. Definitely take him if you can! Tests can be somewhat difficult, but if you study you should do fine. Go to class and it'll be a piece of cake.

Great teacher! HILARIOUS! Keeps students interested! I LOOK FORWARD to his class! Tests are GREAT, only mult. choice and NO short answer! Has tests back to you by next class period. NO homework ever, NO reading except before test, NO writing. Come to class, study your notes & the pgs he tells you before class and you wil be fine. LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!

Nice guy who knows the material and is able to teach it to you in an interesting manner. Tests are easy if you just glance at your notes and come to the review in the class before. It is extremely rare that you stay for the whole class. Most of the time you leave at least twenty minutes early. Take him if you can.

He's outstanding. You dont need the book at, so dont waste your time buying it! He's an excellent professor, and you'll really learn alot from him. He's quite a professor. I recommend!!!!!!!!!

He's so amusing. I would write some of his comments but this post might be denied if I do. He's uncensored. His tests are pretty easy but you can get screwed since there's so many people in the class. What should be a B+ can be a C- Random clicker points suck b/c you never know when he will do them. Always bring your clicker haha. I'd recommend him

Barthe is definitely a lot of fun, he makes coming to class fun and interesting. His tests are a little obnoxious, though. They can be tricky and the curve can really suck sometimes. I think his overall demeanor makes up for that, though! Fun classes are always the best to take.

HE is a good teacher, but the test are wierd, easy, but weird. You will need a clicker and don't need the book. He is funny and keeps you entertained!!! Would recommend, but the class is on a curve that the department makes him do. So only like 40% of the class can get A's but he doesn't do it.

Very good teacher! Some tricky test questions but always curves the tests. The videos we watched were very interesting and funny! Def. taking him again. Book wasn't used much.

I took this class to fill my schedule and actually took crj into consideration after! Barthe is so funny and class was NEVER boring. I was sad when I had to miss class. Don't buy the book, you'll never use it. test are soooo simple, he repeats some questions like 10 times! so if you know that one question, your good to go!

Great teacher, he's funny and makes learning about the topic fun and interesting, I'm taking him again for my Police in America class and I plan on taking his seminar class next semester as well. I recommend him to anyone taking CRJ classes.

Loved this class! Barthe was so interesting and kept the class really fun. Lectures were never boring and he showed a lot of videos. Very funny guy as well. I recommend this class to anyone, even if you aren't a CJ major.

Really a great proffesor. Cracks jokes a lot of the time, especially racial humor (not inappropriate) and is always cleverly prepared for class. Even if you're not a CRJ major, I recommend this class.

He is a great professor. You will want to go to his class all the time. It is a pretty easy class as long as you actually study and pay attention in class! I recommend him for CRJ:)

He is a funny guy. He makes you want to go to class although it's not mandatory (highly recommended though). His class isn't hard and the tests are multiple choice. Pretty easy over all. When he shows movies/has guest speakers, pay attention. He puts questions on the test. Take his class!

Barthe is a decent teacher. His tests are easy, study guides are effective, and his lectures are funny. Sometimes the things he says are unbelievable and he thinks very highly of himself. I would suggest taking the class, he provides good examples. It is not necessary to attend every lecture, but he puts questions on the test from his examples.

Average professor, He's funny but his tests are SUPER hard. 3 tests + 1 final (optional), online timed assessments. If you're a dedicated student with time to study a lot then he's a great choice.

The previous comments are obviously from people who rarely went to his class and they are just pissed off about the grade they got. Unlike other teachers, Barthe actually cares about his classes and if you don't get him or his style, go back to TMCC. Some people really need to grow up - this is college after all.

Great Professor. Very entertaining and informative. The test were easy if you went to the lectures. I didn't open my book all semester and got an A in the class. He grades on a curve so 85% and up is an A.

Professor Barthe is very funny and tries to keep this class interesting. He shows up to date articles and videos to relate to point in the class as well. He typically lets you get away with not taking the final if you have an A in the class already, but he does require a rather large essay (Mine was 18 pages). I definitely recommend him.

Best professor EVER!!!!!! Take him. He makes every class interesting, he cracks jokes that will have you laughing for days. The material is easy and fun to learn.

Easiest professor. Never read the book, just showed up and wrote down the notes he wrote and have been getting As on everything. He also gives you a study guide that is very helpful. His tests are common sense and he repeats himself multiple times. Best professor I've had, plus he makes learning funny and interesting.

I liked this class. He is a great teacher and willinly to help students if you ask. Tests make up your grades. If you study and attend classes, this class will be easy

A professor with tons of good energy, funny, and knows his stuff. It's always an education taking Barthe's classes and he is truly a serious teacher who wants his students to "get it." You have to work hard to do well, but you're given the tools. Another plus- no micromanaging. Diverse views encouraged. You'll remember this class!

Fantastic professor. Extremely funny and keeps you engaged. There is no reason why you shouldn't get a B or higher and the tests are very easy if you come to class. GREAT professor and I definitely recommend!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!! Makes every lecture interesting. His Policing in the Cinema is the easiest, and most informative course I have ever taken. HE IS A MUST TAKE!!!

He is really funny and a great prof for an intro class. He's a little disorganized and not always the most clear so I'm not sure I'd take him for an upper level class but for a 100 or 200 level I would be happy to have him again.

Barthe is a really fantastic professor. First of all, he is hilarious - a characteristic I greatly appreciate. Further, he is incredibly intelligent and engages his students with class material. I can honestly say that I was never bored in his classes! I highly recommend him as a professor.

Barthe is hands down one of the best professors at UNR. Ethics is a pretty boring subject and he knows it. He is hilarious and brings in current events. There are 3 tests, and a 10 page paper. Only downside to his class is the tests are 70+ questions fill in the blank with no word bank.

Barthe is an amazing teacher! He is also the funniest teacher I have ever had, I laughed every single day in his class. But don't let that fool you, CRJ 413 is a tough class, and the fact that his tests are 70+ fill in the black w/ no word bank. Pay attention in class, and do the reading and you should be fine. No need to buy the textbook.

Barthe is the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are fun and enjoyable and I recommend him to anyone taking a Criminal Justice course. His tests can be a bit more challenging but if you study and know the material he isn't trying to trick you. Ethics was the best because of him. Take this class!

Barthe is the funniest professor I have ever had. This class is a little harder because his tests are fill in the blank but if you show up and take good notes you should do fine. He also curves the tests and the grades at the end so as long as you are in the top 60% of your class you can get an A or B no matter how you did on the tests.

Barthe is hilarious, his class sounds like ethics would be boring but I actually enjoyed going to his class. The class actually made you think about everyday problems and solutions. Tests are fill in the blank, somewhat hard. He allowed open book and open computer. I would recommend taking this class.

He was a good teacher, but there was a bunch of quizzes throughout the semester that were graded heavy. There was a 7 tests worth 100 points for every chapter we went over. You have to study not only the book and lecture but also the online revel quizzes he gives in order to pass. He is a very funny teacher and fun to listen to in lecture.

Barthe is by far my favorite college professor. He reminds me of my favorite high school teacher. He spices up class with fun stories; and although attendance is not mandatory to pass, it would behoove you to attend, as he will ask a couple of test questions over articles or stories highlighted in class. I highly recommend his class!

I am so upset I only had him for this class. He is an amazing professor. Super funny and he enjoys what he does. The lectures are always entertaining. Quizzes are online but the test are in class. Test can be difficult to understand. If I could take a class with again I will.

I loved Prof. Barthe! I'm taking another class of his next semester because I love how real and unfiltered he is when lecturing. He is test heavy and there are only a few assignments to be graded on. Some of the test questions consider only things he says in lecture, so I'd try to go to every class. He is always open for questions!

Favorite professor ever. Class is not mandatory but it's worth going to because the tests are open-book and he will definitely ask questions that only those who went to class would know the answer to. I love that he doesn't sugar-coat things, he talks about real life issues and motivates you to become a better person. 10/10 RECOMMEND! :)

Dr. Barthe is a great professor. He is very knowledgable on the material and makes class entertaining with his hilarious jokes! The class is simple, just study for the tests and get an easy A.

He is so funny and so chill you really can't take the class seriously. Overall though the class is fun and it doesn't feel like a drag. Attendance isn't mandatory but he likes to show videos and articles that he puts on the test so I strongly advise going. If you study and go to class it should be a piece of cake.

Dr. Barthe is an AMAZING professor. He really cares about his students and it shows. Going into this class I was terrified because everyone I spoke to said it was impossible to get above a D on exams. FALSE. Show up to class and take good notes and you'll pass. Lowest score I got on an exam? 94. Taking him for 3 classes next semester, he's great!

Barthe is one of my favorite professors at UNR. He's hilarious, keeping lectures interesting and relevant to the modern world. Tests were difficult, and a significant portion of your grade.

Dr. Barthe is so freaking funny and I actually looked forward to attending his lectures. You should go to class because he often covers topics not in the textbook that will show up on the tests. The 4 tests weren't that hard and were non-cumulative and he posts study guides for them. One of the best classes I've taken so far!!

10/10 would recommend to take CRJ 451 w/Dr. Barthe. This class is based on a few readings, assignments, and exam every other week. Watching the lectures are not necessary, but they definitely do help with the exams and assessments. As the deadlines can be on Sundays or Mondays, I recommend watching the lectures and doing the homework early.

Barthe makes college and learning less painful. Tests are open note and are the majority of your grade. He does not pressure you with a big project or final at the end of the semester which is nice. Not sure how he does it but even though his classes are pretty simple i seem to remember and learn concepts best in his classes.

Barthe is an AMAZING professor & I always looked forward to going to class. You never know what will come out of his mouth but it's always hilarious. Tests are taken in pairs & it is open note so it's really easy. He makes jokes about everything & uses students names in his examples so it is easy to understand. Go to class & interact with him.

Super funny and engaging lectures. He personalizes the lectures to each class and it was one of the classes I really looked forward to attending (coming from someone who dreads attending classes). I genuinely enjoyed his teaching style and the exams are always in pairs, graded immediately, and the content is from lectures, notes, and readings.

Great professor and very attentive to students when they need help. Such a fun class with a hilarious professor, I would highly suggest taking his classes!

The best criminal justice professor at UNR by far. I typically always find an excuse to not attend class, but looked forward to going to his class everyday. Take his classes whenever you can!

Professor Barthe will make all of his classes very fun, he seems very knowledgable in the field so he is bale to come up with various examples to help his students understand. His tests are all fill-in-the-blank but if you show up you can take them with a partner so it makes them easier. 10/10 would take again.
