Dr. Usen is not helpful and will not listen to what you have to say. That is what happens when you give someone like that a little authority.

Lack of understanding, I could have gotten a better grade from a fifth grader, he was always on his cellphone while we had lab and would leave class early. If you want to just give away your money, I would advise you to give to the needy. The class was afraid to ask him any questions because they we're afraid of what he would say, I took his class

He is one of the worst math teachers at HCC. Probably only second to LeDuc. He is very unhelpful and unsympathetic. He may be very good at math, but he is very bad at teaching. Avoid.

This professor is not for people that have a hard time with math. He rushes during lectures, and does not like to answer questions. When you do ask he looks at you dumb, and gives you a attitude. I do not recommend this professor at all.

He has useless feedback, and doesn't answer your emails for weeks. He has reviews online that you can't answer due to formatting. Avoid this guy if you can, unless you need no help in math because you won't get it from him.

Made a RMP account specifically for this. I took this fundamental math course in order to complete my associates degree and be done with it. Professor Usen would never be at his office when you call. His syllabus is not updated and he tells you to skip certain units, then when you ask about your grade it's because you didn't do ALL units. Worst.

I wish I never taken his class. he looks every angry when approached, no good manner of approach, and very annoying and sarcastic to the point of making you feel stupid when you try to understand some particular topic. No! No!! I will never ever recommend him to any one that wants to acquire knowledge on any class he lectured. 0.5 star Prof. Usen.

This is what his course is: 4 exams which are SO HARD (He drops the lowest), some assignments, Mathlab, and an in-person final exam. He doesn't let you re-take any test. Be careful with the final exam. YOUR GRADE DROPS 1 GRADE DOWN. I HAD AN A AND GOT A B AFTER THE FINAL EXAM. EVEN THO I KNOW I DID GREAT. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR GPA... DONOTTAKEHIM

he is horrible and can't understand nothing he say stands in front of the board all the time give you a question and 2 seconds later he's jumping up writing the answer down it's math 1324

Ive never done ratings before, but he is so rude. I took his online class and could tell how rudely he would answer our emails. It made me uncomfortable to even ask him for help. Because of him, many of us failed our first exam because he gave us the wrong syllabus and the order of material that needed to study for first exam. DONT TAKE HIM.

Rude. He arrived late to class often. He never even spoke to the class when he arrived. Taught absolutely nothing. Not one thing. Never asked if anyone needed help and if you asked him a question you got a one word answer. He made it mandatory for us to come but left early on several days. If you want to learn anything. Do not take this class.

Gave the wrong syllabus for the first couple weeks of the class which led to failed tests and homework. When I confronted him about this he was very rude and defensive. It took screenshots and many emails to finally get him to admit he uploaded the wrong one. No credit given for the failed tests or assignments completed by following other syllabus.

So bad choice Careless, unclear, disorganized, and seems to be lazy to work.

I have worked very hard throughout college to keep a 4.0 GPA and this class is where I lost that. I received an 88% in the class and made every attempt possible to do extra credit or really anything to get back to an A and Professor Usen would not give any opportunity he informed me that I was 3 points away from an A and still would not help.

DO NOT take his class. He gave me a 50 on an exam when I earned a 96 because I didn't follow instructions on the frq,but he didn't attach them. Many students messaged him about the same issue, and he finally emailed one of the students that he apologizes for his mistake, yet our grades remained. Many og us had to drop, or else we would've failed.

His class was a NIGHTMARE! He was insulting and rude in his email responses, made frequent mistakes that another student consistently had to correct. Which he responded, "my bad", he teaches as if he is working the problems in his head, and you just happen to be there. I would strongly recommend another professor! He put my 4.0 GPA at risk.

Horrible!! please don't believe the good reviews. I'm currently taking his class and it's been a nightmare from test 1. I'm upset that some professor's set students for failure and he is one of them. even when I knew every concept n how to work every problem because I self-taught myself, I still failed his exams because of how confusing they are.

He laughs in your face when asked for help,he disliked us sitting next to each other and talking before class started so much he picked on one kid multiple times and he threatened to get the police involved and forced us to move seats because he felt so disrespected.he did it again too. I wasted time and money.

Don't take. He is rude and does not care about his students, this is merely a job for him and one that he is not even good at. I came to this professor seeking help with the course and assignments and he told me to figure it out myself. His online course consists of MyMathLab assignments and Canvas quizzes with lockdown browser recordings.

This professor uses prerecorded videos and some videos aren't helpful at all. This is just a job to him and not else.

you have to teach the class to yourself through notes because he doesn't even know the material. He's also very disrespectful and will say things like "why don't you go ahead and interrupt the class and tell me your problem" and doesn't extend the homework for FASFA kids that are waiting for their $$ to buy Pearson and tells you "excuses, excuses"

He doesn't know the material you have to teach yourself. One of HCC's finest professors. Paranoid as always. People take online classes to have a peace of mind. Be careful of those classes that says they don't have a professor, It could be him.

I took him online, you'll be DROWNING in aleks as that all he does in the lecture. You'll find yourself learning more in the HW. He can NOT navigate a computer to save his life. Not to mention his exam grading is down right confusing as they'll be labeled '1.0' plus the free responses being turned in through another assignment. Find another prof.

Worst professor i've ever had literally had to drop his class because i couldn't understand a word he said 2 lessons per class all written on white board explained once asks no questions and moves on i already have trouble in math but the first month was he'll never take him for any class highly do not recomend save yourself a W on the transcript
