Horrible!!!!! would never take this teacher you ask for help and she changes the subject. She doesn't know what she is teaching barely and VERY VERY VERY hard to understand! Don't take this class!! Also refuses to slow down on anything
Ms. Awad is an outstanding instructor. She always there when you need her. Her lecture notes are so good and clear. Her exams is for the average students. If you attend classes, take notes, and do the homework you will pass with a good grade.
She spends a bit too much time trying to control students but she isn't hard to understand due to her accent as some claim. her english is great. she's very kind and wants us to do well and if you speak to her she is willing to help. She is sarcastic at times and can be dry when she messes up but most people don't catch it. also tests are in person
She is so sweet and really wants her students to learn. All of her tests are multiple choice and I finished the class with a 97. She is very clear and fun in class. I am trying to take her next semester.
She is a really great professor, yes she may get a answer mixed up, OH WELL, she's human. She is kind if you ask her for she will help on anything, gives second chances. Made my freshman year here the best!
Awful. If I hadn't already learned all the material in high school I would be 100% lost. She overcomplicates techniques for problem solving. If you know your math and just got stuck in this course because of the placement exam then you'll be fine. But if you're still learning, do not take this class. (There are random lecture activities)
The class was really easy, she has a lot of office hours so you can go to her for help. The tests were all multiple choice and she drops your lowest two tests. There was no midterm for this class and the final was pretty easy. As long as you go to class and do your homework, you should pass the class.
Awad ends class early on a regular basis, she wants to get out of there as much as you. She works hard to explain every step so there is no confusion. Although her accent sometimes confused me, if you asked her to repeat herself she was always happy to help.
Very difficult to understand. Most of the time it seems like she doesn't know what she's even trying to teach. This made it extremely confusing to follow along in class.
I actually enjoy math and it always came easy to me but this class with her was horrible. Not only is it hard to understand her, but she teaches the material in the hardest way possible. The notes and homework are nothing like the tests. Some things on the test were never even taught. Definitely the worst teacher I had at FGCU.
Tests are always on Fridays and class looks pretty much the same every day. If you understand the material don't be afraid to skip if you have to.
I am not a very big fan of math but she made it easy to comprehend. Show up to class, pay attention and do the little hw she assigns online and you will be good. Drops lowest exam and 2 quiz grades. Very helpful and would definitely take her again.
Enas is so adorable and actually cares about her students and the material she teaches. You do all your homework through mymathlab, its pretty easy but it takes awhile. Mid semester she asked if she gave too much homework, we said yes, and she cut out a lot of it. Lecture Activity mostly once a week. Gives study guides for exams. A great teacher
I am not a fan of Professor Awad. She always rushed through the information and she had an accent, making it very hard to understand. The class is easy enough to pass as long as you do the work, I only went on Fridays and ended up with a B.
You'll pass if you do the work. you'll fail if you don't, that simple. She's available to talk, has a thorough syllabus, and a study guide for every test. She's not going to slow down if 1 person doesn't get it but there is plenty of tutoring on campus and an endless study plan on mymathlab for you to practice. don't miss Lecture activities :)
Only take this class if you understand and already know how to do everything in college algebra. She has a heavy accent and is difficult to understand. I went to her office hours and she is no help at all. Her class is at a very fast pace, and she only does one or two example problems for each section. I ended up dropping the class.
Her accent isn't hard to understand... she's a good teacher and she is not going to baby you if you dont understand. it's almost impossible to fail her class. you'd have to never show up on friday or do homework at all to fail...
I wouldn't ask her questions while she's lecturing because it may throw her off and she'll be really awkward about it. If you have a question go to office hours or talk to her after class, other than that be sure to print out the note templates because she won't wait for any one to keep up.
Her accent is very hard to understand and sometimes she doesn't know the word in English to answer your question. Once you get passed the accent help was always there and she knew her stuff. She was a sweetheart brought us candy on multiple occasions. Would recommend if you don't mind having a professor with an accent.
She isn't the best at answering questions during class so go to her office hours/stay after class instead. She doesn't have time for people that don't understand simple concepts. Is nice unless you give her a reason not to be. She'll push homework back if enough people ask and throws in lecture activities for easy points so try not to miss class.
Worst teacher in my life, you cant understand her, she has the most boring way of teaching things, and humiliates kids when they ask a dumb question. Awful Awful Awful stay away from her and you will thank me later. Only positive is that you abrely have to show up because all the work/notes is online.
Easy class, attendance is pretty mandatory she will have pop lecture activities. She has an accent but it's not too bad to follow along. Easy class overall.
I'm not good at math, but she makes it super easy. I signed up for stats with her because I liked her so much. Attendance is not mandatory if you do all the homework and do well on them (I barely went to class and I was fine), Her accent isn't that big of a deal, and don't let it deter you from taking a class that is an easy A.
very nice and sweet
I love Enas! She is so funny and thoroughly explains her material in such a short period of time. Class can get boring at times but if you just focus and pay attention, you should be fine. I failed Stats in high school yet finished with a 96 in her class. It was SO easy! Also her tests are all multiple choice with only 20 questions - and the final.
Great professor, easy going and honest. Show up to class, print the notes and light studying is all you need.
Lecture heavy! Be sure to print off her guides for the lectures. She pulls ALL her questions from these for exams. Very kind and quick grader.
I loved Prof Awad. Honestly, I skipped class a lot and she was still very kind to me and gave me help when I asked for it. If you go to class you will definitely understand the material, and if you do the homework before the tests you'll do very well on the tests. Although strict during class, she is super sweet and an amazing teacher.
Enas Awad is a good teacher. Her accent takes some getting use to however her lectures are very nice and easy to understand and her tests are really not bad. She is nice and I got a feeling she genuinely cares about student success. Her grading criteria is beyond fair no reason not to pass.
Professor Awad was great! She really made sure that each and every student understood the concepts and offered help when needed. She is super fair with grading by allowing dropped assignments and FEW extra credit opportunities. Statistics wasn't my thing before this class, but she helped me understand and pass the class with flying colors.
Prof Awad is very accommodating and this is reflected in her grading criteria. I think she understands most people taking stats aren't science or math majors. For some this class may be difficult, but I think she presented the material in the best way possible.
Shes difficult to understand. Really boring, overall the class is easy. Grades on attendance but you can get around it. I wouldnt take her again if I had the chance. She pronounces h as etch.
Makes everything way harder than necessary. Voice is difficult to understand, does lectures way too quickly and doesn't explain in detail. Have to teach yourself at home while doing homework.
Grade in the class is based off of in-class exams and lecture activities, attendance, and online homework. This professor drops your lowest exam score, your two lowest lecture activities, and four lowest homework grades. Professor Awad wants you to do well, but she will be sure to make you do the work to get there.
She is very lecture heavy and there are a lot of homework assignments. The tests are weighted heavy and so are the group lecture activities. Final was only 25 questions.
I had Professor Enas Awad for College Algebra and overall I thought she was an ok teacher. One thing I didn't like was how hard she made the final exam compared to all of the other tests we had in the class. Before the final, she even mentioned how difficult she made it. I had an A the whole semester and the final exam dropped my grade to a B-.
shes adorable. all you have to do is be respectful and do your work
Make sure you go to class she takes attendance. Called me out in front of the whole class for "being on my phone" when I actually was not, I did have a cup of coffee in my hand... She is, however, a good teacher, you only have to do your first homework, she won't put in the overall score!
She is a bit difficult to understand at times. Her powerpoints are organized nicely though and I learned most from the connect math programs guided solutions online. She is strict in her syllabus and wont respond to you on messages unless you follow her exact instruction on correspondence. She will lock the door if people come in late as well.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I was able to pull a B, however I know plenty of people who were not as good at math that had a really tough time. Nobody showed up to class because her teaching methods were awful, and honestly, showing up to this class is a waste of time. I learned the majority of the content by teaching myself while doing the homework.
Professor Awad has clear expectations and provides retakes for exams when the overall class grade is drastically low. A lot of cancelled classes this semester. Overall, Professor Awad prioritizes your learning and she is eager to give help if you ask for it.
One of the worst professors Ive had so far. If possible do not take any math course with this prof. Hard to understand, easily annoyed, changes due dates, and never dropped the lowest test score like was promised. Final exam was absolutely ridiculous. Ive taken many algebra classes and this was by far the worst.
Awad is the best math professor I've ever had. I wish I could take every math with her. I found the material to be extremely well organized and easy to understand. Tests are exactly like the homework questions. I did not have trouble understanding her. I highly recommend her, as long as you are willing to put effort into the class
she is very clear and concise with what she wants however she is not very personable. Class was pretty easy as long as you study but there are better professors out there.
Hard to understand. Easily annoyed. Goes WAYY too fast when going through a problem. Ive taught it mostly to myself by doing the homework.
Professor Awad was the best math teacher I have ever had. All the material is is very clear and organized! She takes time to explain problems and answer questions. From the beginning of the semester she lays out the assignments that are expected and she doesn't stray far from the syllabus.
I took college algebra. Easy material for me but I slacked and missed an A by a few percentage points. I pretty much new everything and put no effort into the class. If I was not as solid on the material I may have struggled, as her lectures are pretty boring, however they are straightforward and covers what you need. Has in class assignments!
She was my first math teacher at FGCU and she was helpful. Most of the material I already knew from high school. However, I don't know if I would've been able to understand it if I didn't already know the information. She does have prerequisites that shows what needs to be learned before you move on. Overall she was a good teacher.
One of the nicest teachers I have met. She does teach math courses so many people struggle and she understands. Gives great reviews for the tests. Anytime one has a question she will go out of her way to help and make sure they understand the content. She does have an accent, but just stay focused and you will get what shes saying. Top tier Prof
She has been nothing but a caring professor all semester long, just watch her lecture videos and do your work on time and if you have any problems she's always more than happy to help in any way.
Very great professor and easy to understand! Put in the effort and you WILL pass. Shes very understanding and treats her students fairly. For sure going to be taking her again next semester for a different class. Amazing teacher!
Cares about her students, Easy to understand.
Prof. Awad posts YouTube videos of lessons, easy to follow and understand, only problem is if you have questions you have to email her and wait for her response. Suckiest part is my math lab which is so hard, they have their own way of doing math problems and all hw's are turned in there. Good thing Prof drops lowest grades for multiple things
She never answers! she also does not explain to you how to do anything. She expects you to just read the book and look it up I guess. Horrible teacher.
This was an online course. she doesn't host lectures. Records youtube video going over chapter tests and posts PDF of notes. It is very hard to learn the material if you are not being taught. I suggest finding a different professor if you have to take this course online.
Doesnt thoroughly workout problems, hard to understand during lecture, mostly posts youtube videos, hard to follow and take notes, her way of doing things is much different than My Math Lab so doing HW/quizzes often different from her in class teachings, not super hard class but had to do it mostly by myself.
To be honest, I suck at algebra so maybe its just me but this class was HARD. I feel like math is a class that you need to take on campus with a teacher thats physically in front of you to ask questions.
incredibly unhelpful. if you're taking her class, good luck charlie.
Her lessons are pretty straightforward, just pay attention and you will do fine. Exams are 20 questions and the final is 40. The homework has a lot of problems her chapter but are very easy. There are also quizzes after each chapter. Overall, the class was easy as long as you know what youre doing
She uses MyMathLab, lecture activities, tests, and exams for grading. She has recorded videos of lessons and exam reviews, so if you are not able to go to class and let her know, she'll give you the link to the videos. The study guides for exams are almost identical to the exams.
Professor Awad is a good teacher. The only time attendance is mandatory is when we have a graded assignment in which she tells us beforehand. The practice exams are basically word for word as the tests. They are usually 20 questions and 15/20 are pulled directly from the practice exam with the same numbers. She wasn't too friendly but I got an A
The professor was unhelpful during summer. If you plan on taking it during summer I recommend you finding a different professor. You learn everything from video that are hard to follow and she doesn't go over anything in class all you do in class is get/do classwork. I spent more time in tutoring then in the class.
Flipped method sucks. You teach yourself so enjoy the tutoring if you aren't already good at algebra. She drops a test two quizzes and 2 videos which is helpful. Not the friendliest person but her TAs are helpful. Her tests are multiple choice which is amazing. Taking her class during the summer was a ton of work a new chapter each class.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE OTHER STUDENTS! Professor Awad is literally SO GREAT! Her exams are all based on a review she gives us beforehand. She is awesome, teaches so well and I am poopoo in math but still been getting A's! LISTEN TO ME, U WILL NOT REGRET
Professor Awad was not too bad. This was the first stats class I have taken and at first I was drowning. If you watch her videos, do the homework, and show up to class, you will pass. Print out the notes and fill them out, that saved me for this class and study study guides. If you study the study guides, you will pass the tests.
There is a lot of homework and if you are taking the class online you basically have to teach yourself. Would not recommend to take this class with her if you are bad at math.
Prof. Awad was very hard to understand and her way of doing things was not very helpful, she solved the problems and expected you to pick up how to do the problems without complications. Not very helpful out of class either, rarely answering emails
Awad was a great teacher for college algebra. She walks through examples to make sure you know the steps to solve the problems. I never really went to class, but be aware she does give pop-up "lecture activities" which function kind of like quizzes but have the same weight as homework so they're not that big of a deal to miss (i still got an A).
Prof. Awad is great! She has pre-made notes, does random activities in class (easy grades) so make sure you aren't skipping a bunch, teaches you how to do everything on the calculator, and her test study guides are almost identical to the tests. Easiest A ever. She even drops your lowest test score so I completely skipped the last test. Got a 99%.
She did not make her lectures interesting. She uses the same monotone voice for 50 minutes straight. She is also a little difficult to understand. If you struggle with math I would not recommend this professor. Also, I would not recommend her because in many other algebra classes, the final is optional, but not in her class.
She has guided notes for every lecture which makes it easy to follow and stay engaged in class. You do need a graphing calculator but it makes the class so much easier. The practice exams are 75% like the real unit exams, so do those. Attendance is not mandatory but on 10 random days, she gives in-class assignments that cannot be made up.
She was a good professor, but her class was definitely difficult. But her notes were very thorough and did explain well on how to do the problems.
I LOVE HER! Prof. Award was absolutely amazing. She works at a great speed and posts the notes and it's easy to follow along. If you do the honework and take good notes then the class shouldn't be a problem. The exams aren't too hard but you have to understand the material. She is a good teacher, the material is what can be difficult.
Professor Awad is very thorough in her explanations and really takes the time to make sure students understand the material. She teaches at a good pace, explains the steps clearly, and cares about her student's success in the class.
STA 2122: Prof. Awad makes stats as simple as possible. SPSS is difficult to work and she isn't helpful but once you figure it out she grades easy. For all exams she gives study guide with exact questions, attendance not mandatory but you'll fall behind. SPSS project difficult, theres 3, she grades hard on those but everything else is easy.
The way she teaches is terrible in class you only get a class work paper and that's it you're on your own it sucks HARD!!!
Attendance is not mandatory but skipping class will harm your grade. Make sure to read syllabus if you plan on skipping. After every chapter there are 15+ questions on Pearson. Her homework is easy, but sometimes the content can be a little confusing. She is very accessible outside of class, so take advantage of office hours.
She definitely improved as the semester went on before she'd leave you to be on your own but now she offers a lot of help and guides you through the class worksheets a bit making sure everyone's good. If you're lazy and like to push back on assignments, its easy to get lost in all the work, but its not hard to keep up with. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
This professor runs a flipped classroom method, so all learning is by yourself from her videos. Class time is strictly for doing class work and asking questions. She is very helpful as long as your respectful and stay on task. You do get extra credit points on the chapter test if you attend the review. Her TA is also very helpful.
Too many homework assignments that don't help. Awad is a good professor I just hated the class.
Very laid back, but be prepared to do a lot of homework to learn things yourself. Class is strictly to fill out skeleton notes and take tests. There were pop quizzes, but stopped them about midway throughout the year. Overall good professor, but not everyone would enjoy her style of teaching.
Very nice professor, wants us to succeed. Has guided notes and walks you step by step through every problem, I love the way she teaches cause I can actually understand. i'm not great at math but she makes the material seem easy. She drops a lot of grades which gives you a boost. Attendance isnt mandatory but she does give pop quizzes sometimes.
Professor Awad's course is thorough with clear, detailed lectures and helpful fill-in-the-blank notes. However, the long pre-recorded videos can feel monotonous at times (45min-2hrs PER SECTION). The biggest issue is the unpredictable due dates; they constantly change, making it hard to plan and adding unnecessary stress for those taking it online.
I loved Prof. Awad! She was very clear with grading, and I understood every lecture when I left classes. All Exams/Tests are in class and if you do the provided study guide the exams are easy. She wants all of her students to succeed.
Ms. awad teaches well. material is easy to understand, class time goes by quickly, she accepts late work, and the exams ar easy as they are similar to study guide. However, if you are absent to class the notes are not available same day, you will have to ask a classmate for them. Also, tests make up a huge amount of your grade.
She was so sweet and nice. The class was structured well, you'd take notes in class, do the textbook activity online, and then at the end of the unit have a classwork, and then the exam after every 2 units. The practice tests were very helpful for the exams. I'd definitely recommend her class.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! This professor is so amazing! I took her for college algebra in the fall and i have never had a better professor. She cares so much about each of her students and has such an amazing personality. The homework is lengthy but very much doable, i felt like after i did it i understood the content better.
She is so knowledgeable and cares about her students.
I would 100% take her class again
She is so amazing and it was easy to understand her.
Professor is good and helped me when I didnt understand something
She makes her lectures fun, I would recommend.
Would take her class again.
Awesome teacher
Good professor
If you put in effort you will receive an A
Lectures easy to understand
She is funny and easy going.
It is easy to pass as long as you finish work on time.
Would take class again.
Very understanding professor.
Professor is very fair with grading.
Gives good feedback on where I needed to focus.
Extra credit helps
Awad was a great teacher for Stats. I already really like math and am pretty okay at it, so your mileage may vary depending on your knowledge already. Had her for both stats and college algebra and both were quite straight forward.
Great professor
I learned alot from this class
I needed help understanding homework and she helped me.
Participate and dont miss a class, this will help you pass.
She is nice
Take her class!
Easy class. If you just do the work, you'll get an A. Professor has recorded intro for each module. If you need to email her about anything, she will respond quickly. She was my favorite of all my online professors because she was actually somewhat present in the class.
There's also tons of extra credit that will be graded at the end of the semester.
I highly recommend this professor for intermediate algebra! The online class is super simple and you have to do all the assignments on time. Her Canvas is well-organized and she gives a handful of assignments each week, but it's pretty manageable. There are also little extra credit assignments each week.
This class is an easy A. Make sure you actually do the assignments because missing an assignment is a 0. Each weekly module took me less than an hour to do. Perfect class if you're already taking harder ones.
This class seems difficult at first but if you put in the bare minimum effort you will get an A. The assignments can be tedious to complete but the overall class is very easy. I put almost no effort into the class and finished with a 96%. Just actually complete the assignments and you will be fine
I loved this course and the different types of assignments involved. Lots of extra credit and has assignments where you actually apply what you learn
Great professor, take her if you can. Assignments are super easy and straight forward if you do the assignments. If you get your assignments done on time it should be an easy A.
Assignments are extremely easy and straight forward. However, attendance is EXTREMELY important.
If you go to class, listen to her lecture, take notes, and study you will do great. It is a lot of work, but I think that is true for any math class of this level or higher. She has office hours and will go above and beyond to help you if you care and put in effort.
I constantly attended her office hours when I had questions. She gives good feedback on tests and quizzes and wants her students to succeed. I thought she was a good teacher and explained concepts well. I learned a lot. Students that take her class must be self disciplined and ready to study minimum 2 hours a day.
If you attend class, do the homework and participate in class you will be fine.
Algebra is a tough class, Professor Awad made sure we understood the material. Solid teacher. Thank goodness I'm not a math major.
Professor Awad gives out a lot of extra credit if you participate in class and write out your answers on tests and quizzes well. There is a lot of homework, and even though it isn't graded, it is important to do it, or you won't do well in the class.
She is a great teacher if you try she will help you. She gives trick questions on her test but will help if you go to office hours. She LOVES it when students go to her office for office hours. She does a lot of group work. Gives strong hits about the pop quizzes. GO TO SI SESSIONS. I would totally take her class again.
If you're just getting out of high school and took Stat, quantitative skills and reasoning will be very easy. The easiest math class I have ever taken was her class because it was all homework and EASY homework. Just attend class because lots of pop quizzes and homework checks. Easy A.
Professor Awad is a very smart person, and I think she is a good teacher. She encourages students to follow along by asking questions, and assigning teamwork (during class), and sometimes the whole class will discuss problems.
Professor Awad is a great professor who genuinely cares about the success of her students. Her teaching style forces you to understand the course material instead of memorizing it. You will also be better prepared for more advanced math courses if you have to take any. Attend class, pay attention, and do the homework and you'll do great!
Great Professor, would take again.
If you haven't suffered any recent concussions this class is an easy A
She is a very good teacher who goes in depth and proves why everything works. If you're struggling she will Help you. If you are competent when it comes to math you should get an A.
Have to work hard in class but an A is achievable. she is very clear about teaching and knows how to present the information in a simple way. attendance is mandatory but going to class is a good idea.
very good teacher, explains things clearly
Gives very clear explanations and is very helpful.
The best teacher in the math department.
I took Professor Awad for Thinking Mathematically, and she was great! I'm taking her again for Statistical Methods, and I personally struggle with math, but she made every topic very understandable. The class format was that you'd print out the notes and bring them to class, and fill them out with her. Really nice and caring professor!
She was nice, but not anything special. Helpful when you needed it
Amazing and nice professor
Professor Awad was lecture-heavy, and all her lectures are online and only online. If you are not good with online classes, this is more like an online class than anything. On class days, you usually do classwork, which is complex if you ignore the videos. She is very kind, just not a class or professor I would choose again.
Prof Awad is pretty great! Her teaching style might not be for everyone, but personally it was great for me. In class, you do about 20 questions of classwork from the notes you take at home from a pre-recorded video. It is “homework-heavy” but everything helps with understanding the material. She drops 2 hw/cw and 1 test (not the final).
If you don't like the material online and teaching yourself then don't take her class. She does not respond to emails. She also doesn't follow the syllabus calendar she added.
