Three tests and one presentation. Very easy tests, very interesting
Great Professor! You get a "study guide" for every exam, know info. that pertains to each point and the exam will be a walk in the park:) I would take her again just to listen!
She is an excellent professor and loves her work. She expects work but nothing more then any other class. She takes time to make sure you know the basic principles in sociology.
What an excellent instructor...brilliant and articulate...she's the perfect blend of hot and smart...she is great fun...
Dr. Delgado is passionate about what she teaches. She is interesting and relates material to the real world. Take her if you get the chance.
She is awesome and full of knowledge that nobody would ever go into one of her classes knowing.
Her Soc 110 course is a great introduction to the world of sociology. She sucks at hiding her personal opinions on social matters, which can get old after a while. But overall, the class was pretty easy and enjoyable.
Yes she sucks at hiding her opinions. She says she is merely playing "devil's advocate" but it is obvious when your opinions clash and she gets this creapy smile...then you know you're in for it! Overall, easy class. Fairly boring, notes unorgan
Lots of good information and insight. Tests are easy. Wonderful professor.
She is a very nice teacher and her exams are usually pretty easy. But she really tells her opinions and usually you can't really disagree with her. But she is a great teacher!
Very narrowminded, don't expect any sort of two sided discussion. She is a lecturer of only what she believes and respects no dissenting opinion.
Oh please . . . learn the difference between "opinion" and fact. You guys are uncomfortable with the sad truth she forces us to face. I loved it!
Delgado is an excellent teacher. If you want to learn statistics and actually understand it take her for SOC 250. Very knowledgable, she expresses her opinion openly, but I'd have to say I agree with her!
Yes she loves 2 give her opinion.I think anyone who disagrees with her is still living in their fantasy world. think of yourself lucky 2 be in college. most of us will never understand what other people have 2 go through, but at least u can try 2 understand & this is what delgado tries 2 do. stylish
Great prof. makes class interesting and is fun. she also teaches it better than the stats teachers do
Class is challenging, but you learn a lot about sociology and the world. Really knows her stuff. Always willing to help you- answers questions and lets you figure things out. Great Prof!
I think this is my easiest class this semester. If you attend class and take the notes you are pretty much garunteed an A on the tests. She does tend to give her opinion a lot and I disagree with her on just about everything she thinks, but I still think she is a really good teacher.
great professor. like any soc teacher on campus, she isn't afraid to voice her opinion (even in a stats class), so seeing eye to eye with her on social issues definately helps. presents the material in a very understandable way.
she is seriously the sweetest woman...has great rapport with students and is soooo understanding!! you'll love her!! highly recommend delgado
I hate writing this b/c she is really nice, but unless you're an extreme left wing liberal stay away. She'll attack any conservative opinion and try to shame you into not believing it. Shaming someone or telling them how to feel is not good teaching! Exams are easy, but for the papers make sure to think how she thinks or she'll dock you.
I love this lady! I always thought I was a math dunce and she made stats so easy and clear. She takes it very personally when you don't understand something so she will work even harder to make sure you get it. I would def recommend her, just know that if you HAVE to go to class because playing catch-up is practically impossible.
She will drop everything (almost everything) to help her students; the best professor I have ever had.
she was very helpful throughout the semester. She would always put things aside and even go as far as stopping a lecture to convey to the class what she was trying to get across. Definitely a must have teacher before you graduate from UWL. You get to have fun and joke around sometimes yet at the same time accopmplish the days tasks.
Shes a good teacher and the material is good but her tests are hard. You have to take good notes, and read the books to get a good grade.
It was a good class. Not too hard, nothing exciting, but not boring. I probably should've sat closer... she WAS pretty hot.
She is the worst! Makes your life miserable.
I've taken two of her classes and both were fantastic. She is the best professor I've ever had. Her teaching is passionate and she is helpful and approachable. She will make you care about what you're learning and will remember your name.
Mandatory for soc majors; take it with Delgado! she is a great teacher, super laid back, and wants all of her students to get good grades. She's always willing to help and explains everything in great depth.
SOC338-Work and Life. This class was extremely interesting. I don't know about her stats classes, but this class was taught very well and it is very relevant. She is a fair grader and is willing to help students whenever necessary. I definitely recommend her for this class.
Only problem I have with her is that she doesn't use power point.
The Best Damn Professor at UW-La Crosse! No if, ands, or buts about it!
Take Delgado. Laid back, interactive and knows her stuff. Likes to play devil's advocate to make you cognitively analyze. A bit of memory and understanding and effort and you will easily do well.
I would definitely recommend Delgado. She is helpful and going to class is very useful. Study for the tests and do your assignments and labs, and you will succeed!
definitely a great professor. Go to class because most of the test material comes from lectures. Also, lots of reading to do in this class. try to get your book review done first thing, because you'll be swamped later.
I've had 110 and 310 with Dr Delgado and I love her! Going to class is very important because she doesnt use powerpoint, usually just lectures and writes on the board. There are no huge papers, just a book review, a few small assignments and 3 exams. She is definatly one of my favorite professors! Take any of her classes if you can.
She is Great!! Make sure you go to class. She make's it interesting. I had her on tuesdays from 5:30-8:15 and it was never boring.
Somewhat time consuming assignments but help boost overall grade. Material is very clear. Class is overall, enjoyable and easy. Delgado is awesome.
Delgado is very knowledgabe in the subject matter and uses many examples to describe different topics. She also uses online videos, articles, and diagrams to help explain things...for a visual learner like myself these methods helped a lot!
Awesome professor! If you've taken Stats, this class should be a piece of cake AND if you haven't, this class is a good start. Sometimes while writing on the board, she can get a bit disorganized, but if you pay attention, you should be able to catch on. Take her in this class & any other class if you can!
Very helpful, well organized, provides examples
Dr. Delgado is fantastic. Incredibly friendly and fun. She is very honest and upfront which makes for an exciting class. She is great at giving example situations and relaying the information. It might be hard to read the notes but that isn't a big issue. The class includes very interesting discussions and videos. One of my favorite professors.
Such an awesome lady! I was unsure of what sociology even was but I'm so glad I took this gen. ed. It has forever changed my perspective on many things in our society. You need to look over the textbook to do well on exams. Great discussions and different content each class. Favorite class this semester. Love her and this class!
Stay on her good side and keep up on the readings. Good Professor overall.
Dr. Delgado is very invested in all of her classes and she truly does care about how her students do. I didn't do well on the first 2 tests, but rocked the last test and I did really well on the literature review. She noticed the effort I put in and since I was close to the next letter grade (within 1%) she upped my grade!
I really liked Delgado for SOC 110. She was very clear communicating her class content and it really seems like she cared whether we learned it or not. She presented statistics to us and let us draw our own conclusions. Definitely recommend her to anyone!
Great class with an awesome professor. Dr. Delgado is really fun and personable. She has clear guidelines for everything and is very passionate about this subject. There is one short research paper, three exams, and a few other short writing assignments.
Dr. Delgado is very passionate about what she teaches and makes you interested. Tests were tough, STUDY. She uses the overhead to take notes so you have to attend class. There is a lot of discussion about the material we go over and statistics presented to us. The books we had to read were boring but they were very important for the tests.
Super interesting class but the lectures get long. Exams account for 330400 points which kind of sucks. If you study well for the exams you are fine but one bad exam and you are screwed. There are a couple of books you need to read and the assignments are easy. Overall an okay experience
Professor Delgado was very helpful for this online J-Term course. She gave students an 8-day head start, which allowed for more time to read the necessary materials. It is essential you read the books and the textbook, especially the latter, if you want good grades on the tests. She responds to emails quickly. I would definitely take her again!
Delgado is extremely sweet and helpful. She goes through practice problems with the whole class and makes sure that everyone understands before she moves onto the next task. Her homework was easy, tests easier, and she means it when she says there is no way you shouldn't get an A in her class.
I would recommend taking Professor Delgado! I had her my first semester of freshman year. You can tell her cares if her students are learning the information she is teaching. She writes the notes down with you so it's easy to follow along. You are required to read two books, take a quiz on each, and write a discussion. It's not bad at all. Study!
I loved sociology, she definitely knows what she's talking about. She's awesome!
She overall seems to love her work, however, lectures are all the time. Every class period is spent copying notes as she writes them out for you so attending class here is a must. There are only 3 exams so bombing one can really hurt your overall grade dramatically.
Loved Delgado, very passionate about what she teaches and makes being in class fun. Would definitely recommend her for Sociology 110.
Loved Delgado. She is hilarious and genuinely cares about your grade in the class. Her lectures are amazing, as she speaks from personal experience. Show up and study a few hours for exams and you'll pass.
Exams were easy if you read the chapters and take the online quizzes she provides. Her exercises were easy and you got good grades as long as you completed them. Lectures were a bit boring at times, but she is a hilarious professor. I have to say she was my favorite professor.
I loved Delgado! I had never been so excited to go to a class every time. She's extremely helpful and cares about her students. I will admit the tests are diffcult at times, but study and work hard to understand the material and you'll be fine.
Very nice and caring professor. Overall I wouldn't say the class was extremely difficult or an easy A, the best way to describe it is FAIR. She doesn't make attendance mandatory but I would go because the lectures help a lot and she always makes class interesting
Professor Delgado was a super nice teacher! The lectures at points can get pretty long, but they're also very interesting. The only thing I didn't like was that what is in the textbook is fair game for exams, so be prepared to read that! She gives a study guide but whats on the test isn't always whats on the study guide. I definitely recommend her!
Delgado is a very passionate professor who makes lectures interesting! Tests can be difficult but it is a 300 level class. Homework assignments outside of class, but Delgado is very willing to further explain if you have trouble. By far my favorite class I have taken in college so far! Highly recommend!
Dr. Delgado does a very good job of explaining the material if you show up to class. The assignments are pretty short and the labs have very clear written instructions. She is very willing to give extra help if you need it. She also gives you the equations that you need on the exams so you dont have to memorize them.
Professor Delgado is awesome! Her lectures are super interesting and really get you thinking about the world. You're graded off of 3 exams and 10 small activities. The final isn't cumulative and the workload is manageable. The books we read are tough to read and get long but the in class discussion about them is eye opening. Take her if you can!
Delgado is the best. She does such a great job in class by having her students think critically about the topics discussed. It's so interesting and I highly recommend for all students you learn so much. Delgado is a helpful, caring, and a fair professor.
Ha okay, so I took this bc I'm a sociology major and expected this to be easy and it's the hardest class I've ever taken and it is SO BORING. The whole class is just an hour and a half of her standing at the front of the classroom and then she uses the doc cam to write notes. I just think it's a really boring class.
Dr. Delgado gave great lectures about interesting topics and related the material to real life. It was such an interesting and eye opening course. The tests are pretty easy and the final is based off one book and two textbook chapters. I would highly recommend taking her class!!
I really liked Professor Delgado as a person and really enjoyed listening to her lectures. The exams are difficult if you do not know every term (especially the short answer). Make sure you read the textbook and write down the definitions and understand each theory.
She is a very tough grader and you need to make sure you are on top of everything. I am a very good student and did all of the homework, but yet I still didn't get the grade I deserved.
She's very understanding and super casual. She grades easy and she'll give good feedback if you got any points off. Her recorded lectures can be boring but they are tolerable.
Dr. Delgato makes you work for it. She refuses to give anyone full credit no matter how much time is spent working on the homework. Personally, she has lost things I've turned in and has made it redo them completely. Just save yourself the trouble, pick a different prof.
Love, love, love her. I took her for SOC405 and had never had her as a professor. She is by far my favorite professor I have taken as an undergraduate. Yes, she is a tough grader and makes you work for your grade however, she is very accessible and always willing to meet. She gives helpful feedback and I would highly recommend taking her.
Delgado definitely makes you work for your grade but honestly, if you show up to class and make an effort to study for her exams you'll do fine. I've only had her for higher-level SOC classes so it's to be expected. Her exams are short answer and essay-based. She's very knowledgeable and just a great professor in general.
She is so awesome, one of my favorites! She's super passionate about what she's teaching. I learned a lot in this class. She occasionally gives in class assignments that you only get points for if you're there so I would suggest going to class. She shows a lot of videos and news articles to further your understanding of topics.
Dr Delgado is amazing! She is very passionate and knowledgeable about her field. I learned so many things in this class that has broadened my perspective of injustices and policies within the US. Participating in class discussions makes this class so much more interesting. Few in class actives, lots of videos, 3 easy tests. 100% take her.
She had a very long lecture and exams were pretty difficult for a 110 class. Not much to do outside of class however which was nice, but you needed good grades on exams for a good grade in the class.
Delgado is such an amazing professor. The tests are hard but if you show up and participate in class, she can help you figure out a better score. The information was explained really well, and she would repeat vital information multiple times throughout the semester which made it easier to remember for tests.
Tough class, but she makes it bearable. If you skip class, you will not be able to pass the course. Labs were done in class and very difficult to complete outside of class. Tests are hard, but she is always willing to help.
She definitely wasn't the professor for me. Most days it was like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Super lecture heavy that makes you fall asleep. Get ready to also read 1 or more books. Also when you try to help a neighbor with something they don't understand, get ready to get yelled at. :)
not a fan. boring long lectures. only 3 exams. has in class activities worth points but not always announced so best to not skip if possible. made us read a whole book during spring break.. but I used an audio book.
This was a hard class for me, but Dr. Delgado was always available when I needed her and towards the end it got a little easier. She is definitely a professor you should consider taking classes from. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Delgado is one if the best profs I have had. The lectures are super long but she makes them very interesting and engaging. She is one of the most down to earth professors I have ever had. There are 3 exams and 10 activities. The activities are on random days so make sure you go to class. 100% take Dr. Delgado.
A very highly respected professor across campus, loved her class and it was clear she likes doing what she does. attendance is important but also understanding if it's a planned absence. It's clear she cares about her students. Few things are graded, definitely study for tests, but personally didn't think they were very hard. Definitely recomend!
she great and very nice
My Puerto Rican sister, Dr. Delgado is my favorite professor that I have had during my time here. The class just turns into a big argument when we discuss controversial issues, which keeps people engaged and listening to other points of view. Such a fun and interesting class, definitely recommended.
Hands down the greatest Sociology teacher I've ever experienced. She cares for ALL her students no matter their background and discusses what will be upcoming on the next exam. You take 4 exams throughout the year no final, so it's easier to understand the material you are learning and grasp it entirely. I would 10/10 recommend Dr Delgado.
