This is one of if not the greatest Spanish teacher in the history of teaching. He really gets involved with his students. And want's everyone in his class to excel so much that he is availible 24/7.

If you want to learn Spanish this is the hombre to take. The course load is heavy so prepare to work, but also to have fun in the process.

He is one of the most helpful teachers-EVER. The only diffuculty in this course is the work-load. As with learning any foreign language, you MUST complete the demanding coursework--step by step, or you won't get it. STEP BY STEP, it's almost like math.

I have taken 3 Spanish Courses with Enrique. He will go out of his way to help you learn Spanish, but if you don't want to learn it, you won't like him. The class time is really fun, but there is a lot of homework.

The class is very hard, not an easy A. Enrique is a very fun teacher, however. If you're up for a challenge take the class. If you stay on top of the work load, you won't be disappointed.

Great prof. I learned fundamentals I hadn't gotten in other span. courses. He was very helpful when I needed it and worked with me when I was sick and out for 2 weeks. Alot of work but definitely worth it.

His class is extremely hard but very fun. It is worth to challange. He dedicates himself to teach Spanish. After taking his class, my Spanish improved a lot in a short period. I really thank him. If someone REALLY want to learn Spanish, I recommend him.

If you are serious about to learn Spanish, take his class. His class is very hard, but you can learn a lot. If you are not serious about it, do not even try.

If you have some experience with Spanish (high school, etc.), take him! He is NOT too difficult if you actually pour yourself into the experience. Don't be afraid to talk in class. Lots of homework, but as as long as you keep up, it's easy to do well on his tests. GREAT teacher! Took 3 semesters...

Great teacher. If you wanna just pass the class, you will not have a good time but if you wanna really learn and do your work, you will really enjoy the class, the instructor and have a new appreciation for the language. Gracias, señor Barquinero

He does what it takes for you to learn. If college is important to you, this is the class to take. I worked very hard but learned alot more than what I bargained for.

This prof. is AWESOME!!! he knows what he is doing, he does talk espanol at the beginning but if u do not understand he helps u 2 understand. He cares.

In response to the question before mine. Do not take this class online. I took it on Wed nights and it was a MULTITUDE of homework. GREAT PROFESSOR. Enough online work as it is. Don't take it online.

Enrique is one of my favorite professor's I have ever taken. He made the class fun and very interesting and he really cares about his students. If you are really wanting to learn the Spanish language then this is the best teacher to take. A good amount of work, but it's for YOUR benefit!

Funny and nice. Calls on everyone in the class frequently. You will learn a lot. Tons of hw. If u study/keep up, it's not very hard. You have to give a 5 min memorized (no notes) presentation w/ a partner. I got an easy A

Very funny, lots of homework but if you do it the tests are not that hard and are on exactly what he covers. Class is definately not boring. Not for slackers! Don't slack and complain about the work he will be more than happy to accomodate any student that works and puts in effort.

This class is not a cake walk, you will have to work. To say the prof is not available is simply not true, use the office hours that's what they are there for! Homework will kick your butt if you don't keep up, but then if you don't you can't blame the teacher, right? It's not his job to hold your hand, or stroke your ego.

I took this class online and found it to be very satisfying. The teacher is great. He's there to help! He responds quickly! I had a great time and went in expecting the worst! I would recommend him to anyone wanting to take español! It requires a lot of time, of course.

One of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Took his class on campus, but completely enjoyed it. He is enthusiatic about the subject, and about his students understanding and learning. If you are showing a sincere effort, he will help as much as he possibly can.

I have taken many online courses. This course carries a lot of work, but unlike other online courses, I learned more than I expected. Lots of repetition pays off at the end. The instructor will get back with you incredibly fast. La clase NO es dificil!

Dr. Barquinero is a great professor. Take him if you have time to learn.

Enrique is awesome, you just have to put forth the effort. theres tons of hw-do the hw cuz it will kill you if you don't. tests are similar to study guide if you study, youll be fine. hes a good guy and willing to assist outside of class. hes fast with replying to emails/phone calls. he gives some extra credit too which is always nice.

Professor Barquinero is the best professor I have had. Lots of repetitious work gets you to understand the material. His sense of humor keeps you engaged all the time. If you are lazy and unwilling to learn you wont last long.

By far FCCJ’s best! Ignore negative feedback. There are those who want to learn and those who want to move on without learning. If learning is not your goal don’t take him, you will ruin the atmosphere. I learned more than Spanish in this class. FCCJ is blessed to have him.

I recommend Prof. Barquinero to anyone interested in learning Spanish. The eight week term I took went fast; however, the instructor was very helpful along the way. Great professor!

I was very fortunate to have him as my SPN 1121 professor. I wish I had taken him for 1120 as well.

This guy is great. Ignore the crying babies below! We had a couple of girls in class that tried to cheat. He does not put up with those who do not do their work. If you want to learn Spanish take him.

Make sure you keep up with homework! He is very enteresting, and helps you to learn Spanish quickly. I especially liked the two presentations--they were alot of fun!

he's probably one of the best teachers around.the course is challenging, but if you are prepared, you will do just fine, and you might even consider changing your major to spanish! oh yeah, and Peru was a blast! :-)

El profesor es fantástico. There is A LOT of coursework, which is to be expected with a language, but if you stay on schedule, you will do great. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy Professor Barquinero's hot Peruvian voice.

Enrique es un bueno profesor, muy simpatico e inteligente. Yo he tomado tres clases con el y aprendi mucho. =) He's a great professor and cares about his students. He's also very open-minded...and might be a little too liberal for some people. But I love his discussions and how he keeps the students engaged and interested. VIVA ENRIQUE ! =)

Excellent teacher! He was very enthusiastic and made class fun. However, the course required a lot of studying! He was always available to help and answer questions. It was VERY fast-paced, and his tests got harder as the course went on. If you study a lot, you will do fine. It was definitely not an "easy A".

I REALLY ENJOYED HAVING HIM FOR A TEACHER. THE TIME OF THE CLASS WAS A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT OVER TIME I GOT USED TO IT. I AM DEFINITELY GOING TO TAKE HIM FOR SPN1121. He teaches you Spanish, but yet you learn about the world and your place in it. Do your assignments and you will learn more than you think.

I enjoyed this class, of course it was difficult at times and there was alot of homework but that it to be expected when you take a foriegn language! I would take him again for Spanish 2.

Great class! It was hard because a language takes a lot of work to learn, but he made it fun! I REALLY enjoyed this class.

Advanced class, be prepared to work! In the end he's more interested in participation than skill level, so TALK! Be prepared on discussion days, he forgot to tell us we'd turn in our outlines, so bring 2 copies. Final exam we asked him a question then summarized the answer, really fun! In class discussions, nothing is off limits! He's wonderful!

Lots of work, but for an eight week class it's needed. Prof. Barquinero is a great Spanish teacher. I learned more than I thought I would. I will take him again for 1121.

I’m an adult student who works full time. The one-night –per- week course worked great for me. Although we had to do lots of work at home, the online assignments were very helpful due to the immediate feedback. Prof. B is a funny individual. He keeps you focused and e-mails you back right away. If you are a loafer, this is not your course.

Awesome teacher, really interested in helping students to learn as long as they are focused, willing and dedicated. He is funny and likes to have fun. Seems to mention tomatoes alot. He is the type of teacher that is willing to help as long as you make the effort to help yourself. I highly recommend him for spanish.

Enrique is a hard teacher, but you WILL learn spanish. Be ready to speak it in class. I had a lot of fun in this class and learned a lot.

I took pr. Barquinero as an 8wk class and ill tell you this was the hardest class of my college experience at FCCJ. You have 3 text books online w/assignments, 45-60 assignments per week. Plus you have to study for (2) Oral Presentations 5-8min, NO NOTES or your drop a letter grade. You have a quiz every week. Also a test every 2 weeks.BE WARNED!!!

I took his course at UNF. Prof. Barquinero keeps you engaged and has high expectations. He is funny and brings up the word "tomates" a whole lot. If you do your work, attend class and participate, he takes good care of you.

Awesome, great guy- even better teacher. His classes demand a lot of work, take him if you want to learn.
