Otero is possibly the best psychology teacher out there! Hot, intelligent, funny, interesting - ah, too bad he's married! I loved Dr. Otero. I took his class a year and a half ago and I still remember him. Most other classes you just go through the motions and forget what the teacher taught. In this case you remember because he loves what he does and make the class fun for you. I highly highly recommend him he is the best and very easy to talk to.

Mr. Ortero is a great teacher. I got an A in both of his classes. I recommend taking intro and developmental together. There is lots of overlap. I thought it was an easy class and barely skimmed his outlines 10 minutes before the tests. GO TO CLASS. The attendance grade can kill your grade or really boost it...its up to you.

You can relate to Mr. Otero, he's fun, he loves teaching and loves to help you out. Read the book, take notes, show up, listen, and ask questions before the test-- you'll get an A or B easily. Sometimes he gets on his soapbox, but he makes sure to let you know when he is on it. Careful not to take ALL the concepts to heart; they're only theories!

In human development there is no textbook. You do have to get an article book. Just do the articles. They are easy when done right. He gives many opportunities for extra credit and you have to come to class bc there is no book and all the notes are on slideshows he has in class. Great guy and loves stories and jokes.

If you read over all the comments here you will not see a single negative one. Yes,he is a professor that every student thinks "I like him!",which is kinda hard to find in colleges. His test are not really hard but still you do need to go to class everyday and study. Plus he tells funny stories so if you don't show up you will miss them!

I took Developmental Psychology with Professor Otero. I don't find developmental psychology interesting, although I do love psychology. Professor Otero is an adequate professor. His lectures lack substance and his exams and assignments are not challenging. Take this course if you want an easy A, otherwise don't bother.

He's super energetic and fun. I'm a Dual Credit student and this was the first class I took && it was in the summer too. He gives a few easy extra credit choices and it pretty chill. If you're worried about being too loud or what not, don't worry he's just the same and likes students who are interactive and talkative in class.

The book is not really needed, as long you take notes. He takes points off if you don't come to class. However, you can make up points coming to another class day. You don't get powerpoint to study. Test comes from the powerpoint. He is so funny.

Class is good. There is a lot of overlap from PSYC2301. If you show up to class and pay attention you will do well on exams. There are 3 exams and a paper and a presentation. Easy A if you show up and do the work.

Take Otero: this guy is an awesome teacher. I had him for both General and Developmental Psychology-and I would take the classes again just for fun. His lectures are literally whats going to be on the test: show up+take notesyou can pass the tests (which there are 3 in both courses-in Dev. you have a paper and an group project, but both are easy).

Took this class a couple yeas ago and he was definitely a great professor. Admittedly I had taken the course 10 years before at a different school and failed it. I even studied religiously! Took this class at NLC and did not only much better, but the profs were night and day in their teaching styles. Show up, participate, take notes and pass!

Lectures are entertaining and cover 90% of all tests, and he makes it clear when we need to study something he won't mention in class. Lines out everything that'll be on the test in study guides. There's no homework, only tests every 2-4 chapters. Textbook is necessary because of the topics he doesn't mention. Gives extra credit opportunities.

First let me start by saying I failed every test with 2D 2F, and I passed with a 71. They're 5 grades Attendants,4exams including the final I had perfect attendants 98 and did all the extra credit. Otero is a wonderful teacher for Intro to psychology. However, I wouldn't advise taking his Lifespan and development. Its pretty much verbatim to his intro class. he's engaging as far as taking his class the first time but he's very stuck in a rut with his teaching.

Mr. Otero was the best professor I had this semester. I actually learned things and found the material interesting. He explains everything so its easy to understand and the tests arent too hard just make sure you show up and take good notes. He does mark off 4 points each class you miss no matter what so try not to skip.

Has 2 test, 10 discussion boards, one 4-6page essay. If you do service learning (extra credit) your highest test grade will double!!! So if you get a 90 on test 1 then you dont have to take the final, unless you did bad on your DB and paper. If you took him for 1301 then it shoud be an easy A! AWEEEEEEESOME professor!!!

I took his General Psych and Lifespan Psych classes and I felt enriched by both experiences. Enrique Otero clearly has a passion for the field, if a bit of an "out-there" view on things. Took this class as a 8 week course. Prof. Otero is very funny and makes lectures very interesting. Information was straight forward, but it does take hard work and studying to make an A. A class I will never forget. Mr. Otero is super inspiring and passionate about what he teaches. Was not interested in psychology until I took this class. Easy readings with chapter/test outlines and straight to the point exams. HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO FAIL I PROMISE! Super funny and down to earth guy I wish I could take all his classes!

He was the best professor I have ever had so far. When I say "the best", it means that, above anyone I have had. He is very nice, open-minded to any opinion and always helpful. He makes Psychology more easy for everyone to understand. He has study guides for you before tests, so tests are never hard at all if you study.

Professor Otero is amazing! All his test and quiz answers are found on Quizlet. There are 4 easy writing assignments and one essay, but it's manageable. He really cares about each student and wants them to succeed. You can't go wrong with Professor Otero!

He's such an AMAZING teacher, made me love psychology so much. I took two classes with him, the first being in person and the second online during the pandemic. I loved both times and learned so much. He does give you work but it doesn't feel like work and is enjoyable. He really teaches and engages with students and cares about how we do.

Easy class if you read the textbook and PowerPoints provided.

The class was pretty simple and straightforward. There's a lot of reading involved. However, I do wish that there were better instructions for the term paper, and that he would've elaborated more on what was expected. Other than that, he's a good professor and replies to emails relatively quickly.

Professor Otero is literally one of the best professors out there! The class itself is not hard at all, especially that he provides us with a clear schedule at the beginning of the semester. You just have to do the work on time and keep up with the readings. His lectures were amazing and very informative, he clearly cares about his students!

100% recommend taking a class with him virtual. He is very caring and makes the lessons very interesting and hilarious to the point where you don't want to miss out on the fun! The quizzes are super easy if you just read and pay attention in class!

By far my favorite professor, his class felt rewarding to attend as his lectures brought the best out in me. He made learning enjoyable and even lead me to do research outside of class on the material he speaks about. He interacts with students regularly and never fails to make the class laugh.
