Osmanagic rocks the house!
Just do some math and drink some beers. Osmanagic is a king amoung men.
Funny because he refers to matricies as guys but you tire of this because he is not good at explaining things or keeping the class quiet.
confusing till you get used to him. Then its all good.Makes many references to alcohol.
I factor in the neighborhood.
Osmanagic was Great!
I factor up this matrix..
he changes his mind, does things the wrong way
His classes are loud, but I blame it on the idiot girls in the class who go there to socialize and shouldn't be there anyway. Enver is a class act.
Enver was great, super notes, not bad mid terms and excellent final help sessions... and I hate calculus! But in his class did just fine! Great Prof who knows his stuff!
The idiots in the back of the class ruined the class. MT was a joke. Final was tough. His lack of teachery doesn't make the course hard. He's not helpful, but I did get an A+.
Very good prof. Very clear and explained concepts well and made lots of krazy jokes. I would definately reccomend.
hey, i was one of those "idiots". if you can't hear over his thick accent and our wise-cracks then sit closer to him. overall, good prof....although hard to understand through the accent at times. very accesible
Good prof to start your math ... exams are easy. funny guy too
Holarious teacher, very helpful.
enver rocks
He teaches like he wants to be teaching ( a rare quality among profs). He is eager to answer questions. Pretty funny too. Easy to talk to one on one.
Amazing Prof, he knows what's up
This prof is so eager to answer questions and he makes it his first priority that his students do well in his class. His examples were really helpful. Though his accent was thick, you could still understand what he was saying. Very good prof.
He's a good professor who makes an effort to teach well.
Apart from the killer final, good times. He is funny, and knows his stuff. You can talk to him whenever you need to, and he is very helpful.
He's a helpful teacher, and if you pay attention and study you'll do fine
Go through his notes. Midterm and final were easy. Easy A+.
Ok prof, hard final, mark hard - doesn't give part marks
He has a fairly thick accent but is still easy to understand. Enver seems to like teaching and is very helpful one on one. The exams are hard, but they're common with all sections so you can't really blame him.
Enver is very helpful, his main priority is for you to learn. He teaches very well and is excited about it. He uses great examples. Amazing prof, I would recommend him to everyone.
Uses hilarious examples, and really seems to enjoy teaching. Explains things concicely and clearly, though he mispronounces some words. The exams were fairly hard, but if you studied nothing too frightening.
ever is awesome. his accent is actually pretty cool. his exams are easier than other 113 profs, so dont complain guys. he teaches well so that u can understand easily. good stuff.
If you want Allegreto's wife's cookies, great, take his class, if you want to learn math and do well on your exams, definitely take this guy. His notes are very clear and concise, and he is accessible outside of class. Very helpful.
Ozzy is the man! Funny guy, good notes, overall a great prof. Would reccomend Ozzy for any math course.
This guy is awesome. Teaches everything in a clear manner and does loads of useful examples. Definately recommended!
Gives clear lecture notes, with lots of useful examples. His exams were fair (no partial marks given though); study his old exams and you'll do well. Funny guy also; very patient with the students and one of the few guys who really love teaching. Made Math less scary. Steve Martin look-alike!
haha, beer time
I LIKE HIS ACCENT..PRETTY DIFFERENT..HE HELPED ME ON ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS..NICE GUY..LOVES HIS JOB AS WELL..CHEERFUL AND PATIENT..GOOD PROF!
His accent was difficult to understand and he only uses examples.
Okay maybe it's just the course. Seriously didn't have a clue what was going on the WHOLE time. Enver was really funny I admit, but gave terribly unclear notes and weird random examples. Again, it could have been the fact that Math 102 is the worst course ever taken!
Awesome prof but not-so-awesome course.
Good notes, useful examples, has an accent but does not affect his teching (it enhances his lectures). Is enthusiastic and wants you to learn. Great prof!
Really enthusiastic about the subject, its cool to watch him prove theories (he gets all into it). Course can be tough because of the new material, but he gives good notes and is helpful if you have any questions. If you pay attention in class, the course really isn't so bad.
Good professor... talks about 'killing' numbers sometimes. Usually his notes are sufficient. Pretty funny. The course material isn't terribly difficult either.
His accent takes awhile to get used to, but it's not too big of a problem. His notes only consist of examples. More emphasis on the actual theories behind calculas would have been helpful. This class is extremely boring but hey, it's math, I won't blame him for that.
Best professor I have ever had. He teaches with a smile on his face and tells jokes, while at the same time covering everything you need to know. Highly recommended.
Maybe it is just me, but I didn't like him. He is a nice and funny guy, but his accent is so thick that I never really got used to it. His notes can be a challenge to read at times too. His teaching style just didn't work for me.
Best teacher ever. Enver is the man
I took summer school and this is guy is AWESOME. His notes are well organized unlike some other profs whose notes are like chicken scratch. He's also a very approachable prof. As long as you keep on top of everything in class you prolly don't even need to text book notes.
he was awesome. stick with it and you'll get used to the accent. never even opened my book. but keep up with him in lectures or he'll erase things before you write them down
Solid prof overall. Very clear and organized notes. You gotta love the accent. Been in three of his math classes including 100 and 101 and Ill never go back to the back water dregs of the u of a math department. You learn to take what you can get and this guy is pretty good.
Enver rules! Awesome notes, awesome accent. Listen to the way he pronounces 'factor'. Gold.
He was so awesome - his exams were very straightforward, and he is a hilarious character! I would highly reccomend taking a class with him.
I love Osmanagic. He is really funny and his tests are pretty easy.
Osmanagic is very good. He's also funny. I love it how he refers to things as "this guy" and "that guy"
Best prof ever. Awesome notes, awesome accent, just awesome person. If you have a chance to be in his class, take it.
This guys is awesome! His notes are great, especially his examples. His teaching style really worked for me. I don't know what kind of accent he has but he isnt hard to understand at all, in fact it's worth getting him as a prof just to hear him talk! Get a class with him if you can, he is simple an awesome prof!!!
Excellent prof, he somehow keeps things interesting.. I especially enjoyed when "this one kills that one" lol. awesome.
Oh my! I love this guy! His little comments about numbers "killing" one another is just priceless....and his accent, haha, you gotta love it! His notes are also very detailed and well organized (kinda reminds me of high school). Trust me when I say, take Enver's class, you will laugh and learn every class..........FACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!
He really wants students to succeed, and he jokes consciously and unconsciously. "Beer time...but small beer; exam very soon..." Couple that with his accent, and you'll love him.
Awesome awesome prof!!! Examples are terrific, and his pace isn't to fast or slow, plus he is hilarious!!! That beer time thing was awesome! Get in his class if you can, he is definitely a really great prof, his notes are awesome!!
I really liked him a lot. His notes followed the assignments plus he'd do similar questions or even the same one to help us. Also, he explained the concepts well and his tests were fair..except the final was hard.
Wow. That's all I can say. Best Prof Ever. I love his accent (say factor with a U instead of the A) and his notes are always clear and concise. Beer time! A round of applause goes to Enver. Inspired me to stay in math...and that takes a lot.
I had to sign up for math help because I couldn't follow his notes
THE BEST PROF EVER! This man is the greatest prof I have ever had! I hated math coming into this class and he really made me want to take more just to hear his accent. He is the cutest man ever. If you have a chance to take this class, do yourself a favor and take it!
Awesome prof! His accent is too cute. Good notes, good examples and fair exams. Made math class a little more fun!
Best prof ever. Very helpful. Never had a prof this good before. If you ever get the chance take a class with him and avoid David McNeilly, he is one of the worst on campus.
Osmanagic is a good teacher. He explains ideas well and is very laid back and casual. His tests are fair. A good guy.
good teacher ever!
Awesome prof! Exams are strictly marked, but that's not a problem if you know what you're doing! Great guy! I would recommend him to any student in math.
Enver was a riot to watch and pretty easy to learn from, once accustomed to the level of formality and abstraction in linear algebra proofs, but that comes with the class, more or less. "Where is my coordinate axis..."
He does a lot of proofs and many of his examples lack actual numerical values. You have to be able to visualize abstract ideas well in order to follow along in class. My section had a midterm average more than 10% higher than all the other sections. Enver is a good prof.
I suppose Enver is a good professor, I just didn't click with him. He's always willing to help though and he's a pretty funny guy. Just try not to get him to factor anything while you're speaking with him or you'll laugh.
What an amazing proff! at first I had no idea what he was talking about but all I had to do was re-read the notes. His examples are straight from the assignments. He really cares about his students, don't be afraid to go ask him for help.
in class you'll feel completely lost, but keep taking those notes! His notes and examples are amazing once you actually review them in your own time. HW becomes easier with his hints, =) willing to go out of his way for students! For a Final review session he sat infront of Tim Hortons waiting to answer any questions..haha definetly one funny guy.
Much like the others have said, when he's lecturing it might seem a little unclear but his notes are on point. Very helpful when you go see him at his office, I'm not very math oriented so going to see him really helped me out when doing the weekly assignments.
Very nice guy. Not one of those math profs who really has no way of communicating to under grads. I would reccomend him as a prof if you are not exactly the biggest math genius as he is very good at breaking things down.
Osmanagic is excellent! So helpful and his notes are great! Exam wasn't hard at all, if you study. I found the lab to be extremely helpful as well. Great professor! So funny!
I had him for MATH 100 and loved him. This time, though, our class was so full we had to move to a bigger room. He's arguably the best math prof at the University of Alberta. The seats (or lack thereof) don't lie.
He is a great prof and is the reason I keep getting good marks in math. I had him for MATH 102 as well and he got me an A then. Good prof, an even nicer person. Although, sometimes I'm concerned for his safety as he is very clumsy and almost trips himself on cords every class.
This guy is awesome, the best there is.
hands down the best math prof out there. Went from near failing linear algebra, to getting a B- after starting to attend his lectures. Also he explained concepts very well for calculus III
Next to dragos, best prof out there. His notes are all you need, they may not be so clear as you take them, but they're amazing as you reread them. There's a reason his class is always larger than just his own section.
Enver is GREAT! Even though class is not mandatory, I suggest you attend and take notes. The textbook becomes useless compared to what he teaches. Highly recommended!
Great personality and an overall very nice man. His notes are very good. His exams are almost easy if you can do the assignments. A bit boring but strongly recommended for those who are taking math.
This guy is just great. So approachable and exam's are easy if you can do the assignments.
I really enjoyed Dr. Osmanagic's class. His tests were difficult but fair. One of the best prof's I've had so far. Explained things very clearly. I would recommend taking his class if possible.
Very good prof - good notes, nice guy. I loved his responses to dumb questions and found him quite hilarious.
This prof is awesome and go only for him if you're taking math 120
if you wanna take math120, go for him...
He is funny (his responses to dumb questions are pretty funny!) and quite easygoing. I found the assignments hard, but they prepare you well for his exams. His notes were great. Overall, he's an excellent prof, one of the best I've encountered. Definately choose him for MATH 120
Awesome prof, if you're in 209/201, check him out. Definatly worth it.
He is great!!!
awesome prof
Really cool teacher. He can be a little hard to understand at time. Makes some funny little jokes, and just the way he looks at you and nods cracks me up.
Great professor. Makes things clear and his notes are excellent. Very approachable. Funny. Classes are sometimes tiring but he tells u everything u need to know.
Really good prof. Probably the best prof u can get for math 100. Real funny at times. The course is just really hard and he has to go through a lot of material really fast so the lectures are real fast paced
Great prof. Very funny, gets through everything you need to know. Class is actually fun; he slips in little jokes to make you remember. Osmanagic had no part in what I disliked about Math 100.
His little awkward jokes make class worth going to.
My whole class found him terrible for this course. He didn't explain anything and the midterm and final were extremely difficult. Don't recommend at all.
Very layed back and does really in depth examples during class.
Great prof for math 209 and 201.
Awesome proff.. quiet funny with his strange accent and smile..:).. Clear the concepts and then do a bunch of questions so the topic is fully understood by the end of class. I would take his class again.
His class is fair and he covers everything he needs to. Hes a good guy who does not fail to make one laugh with the occasional joke. Also his "reciprotsical" is a pronunciation that wont be forgotten.
Funny, easy to learn new material, quality of notes over quantity was very helpfull.
great teacher, notes were awesome
The textbook is a lifesaver in this course regardless of who you have, but Enver is a quality prof whose lectures shouldn't be skipped. Very good at explaining concepts. Clearly enjoys teaching the subject matter and wants his classes to do well.
You couldnt help but chuckle in this guys class, the way he looks and talks is enough to crack you up, and he gets so excited and cracks the biggest smiles when he finishes a math problems. Entertainment value of this guy is through the roof!
This guy is the man. And not in the negative school of rock way but in the awesome way.....ya know? Cottages and policemen really make the squeeze theorem come to life. I have thoroughly enjoyed this class thus far and as long as i pass I'll be all happy about it. Sometimes hard to understand but once u learn a bit of russian your good to go.
I would highly recommend this professor.
Excellent math prof. Knows his stuff. Occasionally explains things in a roundabout way. Very helpful. Funny. Exams difficult but decent
Great prof. He's funny and knows his stuff, definitely get in his lecture if you can.
Great prof. He keeps his notes organized and lectures are more than understandable. Exams and marking are fair. Just take his course, you won't regret it!
This guy is the man. Elementary calculus is an easy course, and he makes sure to keep it that way. Awesome lecturer, goes through good examples and talks with dramatic gestures. He is also very helpful outside of class. Nothing tricky in exams either. If you understand the practice tests as well as in-class examples, you'll be fine.
Great prof, has clear and well defined notes although I wish he had done more examples. Study his examples and practice tests to get a sense of the type of questions he's likely to ask- mostly variations on what he taught. He's glad to answer any questions you may have and is clear in his explanations.
Going to class helps although the notes can be a little confusing just cuz he writes so damn fast. If you read the textbook, pay attention & understand the labs you'll do fine in this course. Hes a little weird in his lectures & gets lost from time to time but other then that he has no problem helping you out after class or during his office hours
Really easy, keeps things simple. Label the theorems that you are using on tests and take note of lab material. Awesome accent!
I swaped to another class after less than a week. He seemed as if he doesn't like teaching.
Sometimes got a little lost with his notes, writes before thinking so sometimes he crosses things out or has to go back and fix what he has written. No surprises on his tests, do the practice final and you will do awesome, final was the exact same, just different numbers.
Enver is hilarious
Funny guy, little bit of an accent. Notes are VERY concise and contain everything that is on the midterm and final. Midterm was EXTREMELY easy. Go to class to get the notes, he doesn't post anything online. Assignments are enough practice to do well, no extra practice is needed.
can't understand a word he says, hes funny, his notes are not clear his writing is not clear, u have to listen very carefully to know what hes saying. He has an extremely thick accent. its like taking a class in russian, trust me you do not want to suffer through that.
Definitely the better of the 102 profs, concepts are challenging at first but if you practice enough it is simple. Just read the textbook before class otherwise you wont know what the hell he's talking about.
I love this man, Enver is hilarious and has the best accent ever. If you can't understand him good luck in university. He adds his own funny edge to examples and has good notes. No tricks on exams, I barely studied and got 94% on the midterm. Easy A for sure, damn I could marry this man if it wasn't for his eyebrows
Amazing prof! The accent isn't back people just love to complain. You NEED to be reading the textbook before class otherwise you'll be lost because the material is super foreign. His notes are a godsend for studying later on, very approachable, cute jokes, love his eyebrows. GO ENVER!! =)
Horrible Prof, very hard to understand if you don't pay impeccable attention. I found his notes to be unclear and he often made many mistakes while teaching which confused me. I wouldn't recommend taking a class with him at all.
One word. Awesome!
great prof!!anyone who can make linear algebra easy is an excellent teacher
Overall an good prof. I wouldn't say excellent but certainly good. Speaks fairly clearly and the examples are a good indicator of homework and test questions. I would have liked less time spent deriving equations as I don't find that to be of much use in the tests and he can be a little hard to follow if you lose track of whats going.
He's a great prof, but at times hard to understand. Also quite intimating to ask questions to as he sort of makes you feel like an idiot for asking them. His tests are straightforward and he usually goes over what to expect before hand. Good prof compared to some of the others for Calc especially if your first year.
This guy is legendary. He keeps you smiling the entire class and makes the material easy to understand. I wasn't even registered in his lecture but woke up every morning to attend.
Enver has been born with the math streaming through his blood. Very similar to be compared with a Canadian icon game of hockey. No words to describe his craving and gratitute to show his skills . UofA and whole Canada - hands down for the gentleman who knows his job extremly well. Thanks Enver - Rajko C. I fully understand why sin2x+co2x=1, cheers
Excellent professor, linear algebra was very clear when he explained it. The course starts off a little rough, but once you have the fundamentals he makes it simple and straightforward.
Not very good. His accent is thick and all concepts seem much more complicated than they really had to be. Final was brutal, 20 marks were tested on things that weren't ever taught. UNFAIR.
This class is a breeze and Osmanagic certainly doesn't make it any harder than it has to be. If you pay attention in class, do the homework, and complete the practice exams, you'll be fine. His midterm is easy and although the final did have some unexpected questions, you should be able to figure them out during the exam with what you know.
Great prof. Math is definitely my worst subject, so surviving through it... was a miracle. He is very straight forward, and the accent takes only a few classes to get used to. Midterm was fair.. Final was another story.. but compared to other math113 profs, this guy is a charm
If you have to take Math 113, Dr. O's section is a good choice. Lectures go by quickly, and are packed with information. he's also got a sharp sense of humour (esp. for a math prof) My advice, choose the section with labs. They are a pain, but give a bit of grade padding, and having a different person explain concepts can make them click sometimes.
One of my favourite prof for my first year! he made linear algebra really easy and fun tbh. hope he teaches second year calculus cause i would be the first person to enroll in his class haha! so take him if you can!!
Best first year prof! Math 113 was a breeze with this guy. He teaches in a way that will make the material just click
He is a great prof, doesn't make the class any harder than it needs to be which is awesome. He is funny and his accent is not an issue. His lectures and notes are great, highly recommended!
Although his exams aren't too hard, I think he makes things way more complicated than they should be. His class isn't boring as he has a little sense of humor in some of his lectures. He isn't exactly one of the nicest prof's either.
He is an excellent prof. He teaches everything that should be taught. He also gives examples similiar to midterms and finals. Decent prof. Even tho he writes a lot, but he is a good prof. The final is not surprising if you attend his class. Also helpful anytime you have a question. He will explain it too you and give you the answer.
attendance is mandatory cause you need to copy his notes. His accent might take a few days to get used to but he's a really good prof and has a good sense of humour.
Lucky because he was convener of the course so exams are based on what he is able to finish teaching. All questions in the exam are found in his notes. Gives a ton of examples. Not for those who have issues with accents, though it doesn't really bother those who are interested. Attempts being funny. Not the most approachable though still helpful.
He's a great prof but his final was very hard.
Enver is a good prof. Lectures can be boring, but thats calc for you. No surprises on exams. If you struggle with calc or want a high grade, take PRE-CAlC! I would not have passed this course without it. It is non-credit and goes over everything in this course. You'll learn the material before class and then the lectures with Enver are just review!
Has slight Russian Accent, but still understandable. Is a pretty good lecturer, explains things well. Can be intimidating to talk to tho. Pretty good if you've already taken calculus in High School
Enver is a little hard to understand at times, but you'll get used to it. We didn't touch the text. Take Pre/post Calc, because IT WILL HELP. He's a little monotonous, but will crack a joke here and there. Overall, he's alright. Definitely knows his stuff, a little intimidating to talk to. Come to class because his notes are all written in class.
His accent made matb way more fun. He emphasizes on math terms that made it very interesting and great to pay attention. Taking Calculus in High School helps a lot with understanding the course. It doesn't matter which prof you get, taking Calculus in high school was just helpful.
Really nice guy and you can really see his love for math! Exams were exactly like the practice ones.
Really nice guy and his accent is great entertainment! I loved him and is my favorite 1st year prof.
If you get enver for math 102 go to every class. He is the clearest and most straightforward prof, which you need for 102. His accent doesn't affect anything, it's really easy to get used to. His examples are very relevant. Basically you hit the jackpot if you got enver, BEST PROF
Best Math professor. Never mind what people say about his accent, he is perfectly understandable. Lecture notes are done well and he does a lot of examples. He simplifies concepts, making them easy to understand. Tests are fair and he is always willing to help. Never really liked math, but he made this class enjoyable. Great prof.
He is at good prof. Tries to make some jokes, shows us that everyone makes mistakes, and he is willing to help. However, he don't post his notes online, so attending is mandatory. his Exams are Fair.
Take him. Our class average was higher than other classes.
He can be a but confusing and not the most organized but when it comes down to it he covers the material and is good most of the time. The labs for this class are all computerized and not bad. You are allowed to do them by yourself at home and just hand them in when you get to the lab time.
He is not the best pro, but he is nice. He answers every single question we've asked and he knows how to make the lecture less boring as well. He has a light Russian accent which you may need time to get used to it. However, you have to go to class because he doesnt post his lecture online.
He is the sweetest, adorable guy. His accent and examples make class entertaining. Don't expect to fly through this class if you took calculus in high school.
I hadn't taken any math in 6 years! I always heard Math everyone fails but I got 80% on my midterm! shocking! Enver was a great professor. I did end up taking Precalculus and Postcalculus with Margie Ray and that was a LIFESAVER! If you need to just pass take these extra courses! Enver was a good teacher and very kind. He doesn't post notes so go!
Best prof I've had. Straightforward and thorough, but also really funny. Tests are very fair.
Enver is the best math prof. Honestly, he's so amazing. His accent makes math so interesting and funny during his lectures. His notes are straight forward and he has so many examples, which becomes very helpful. Taking a pre-calc class before taking this did help me, but honestly you'll do great. Would have him as my math prof any day.
Average math prof. He was funny, but it was hard to understand his accent. His notes are straightforward but require you to go over them a few times to actually understand the concepts. I did well; only because I had a good math 31 teacher. I didn't really learn much in his class. He does help and provide examples. Final was difficult though.
I found his explanation of concepts really hard to understand, I had to go to the math help room almost every week (which is a great resource to go to if you need help). If you do the practice exams he uploads on eclass you should do well on his exams.
Best prof I ever had.
Enver has an accent which takes some time to get used to, but once you're used to it his class becomes a breeze. He gives good notes and the examples in his notes are similar to test questions. The midterm and final were very difficult but if you do practice questions and pay attention to the examples he does in class you'll be fine.
Lectures are long, but manageable. The course itself is a lot of work and Osmanagic explain things to the best of his ability. He has a heavy accent that takes a week or two to get used to, so don't worry to much about understanding him. Understanding the content of his lectures is another story....
Enver is a great prof! He has a strong Russian accent, but it is surprisingly easy to understand. He hand-writes the notes throughout class, and he really knows what he is talking about. I would definitely recommend him! You will get a good mark in Math as long as you attend class!
easy, straight forward midterm and final if you know how to do the examples he does in class. posts notes online so its kind of useless to go to class but his handwriting can be messy at times so you should use the textbook for clarification. if you need help he will make time for you
He's just too cool.
He's hilarious. You can tell he loves teaching math, he has this huge smile every time he explains a concept. Midterm was easier than other classes. His handwriting can be messy at times. You'll get used to his accent in like a week. Try not to ask dumb questions in class publicly though, he'll shut you down, but not in a condescending way.
Enver is a great prof who knows his stuff, notes are crystal clear and reflect what will be on the mid term. The class average was high on the midterm so the final ripped my anus in two but thats not his fault.
Enver is really good! His exams are fair as long as you pay attention to his notes and do his examples. From what I heard, his exam was easier than other profs. You can tell he loves math and he is always willing to help. His accent can be hard to understand for the first couple of days but you get used to it. And He posts all the notes online.
His lecture is fine, but he has a strong accent and bad handwriting. It is really hard to see what he wrote. He is a nice prof though, he is patient.
As someone who struggled with the concepts in MATH125, he made linear algebra more understandable. Examples done in class are clear and much more helpful than the textbook. He marks easily and will give a lot of part marks. His accent takes some getting used to, but he posts his notes online so attendance isn't necessary but I would suggest going.
Great guy, always willing to help if you need it, and he really tries to make sure you understand the math. Hand writes his notes and makes them all available. Went into his class expecting a C- or D, ended up with a B. 10/10 would drink vodka with and discuss the motherland
Enver is a great guy but only an alright lecturer. The final was near impossible, but if you do all of your assignments then you should be ok. He spends the majority of the lecture explaining concepts, not giving examples. Make sure to do examples on your own. Not outstanding, but a mediocre professor.
He is really humorous and friendly. It is a pleasure to take his course and he always makes jokes in lectures. He has relatively strong russian accent but it is not that hard to get along with it. His midterm and final tests are not that tough. Taking notes and making great preparations can guarantee you a decent mark.
I really liked Enver. I haven't taken anything remotely close to calculus since MATH 31 in high school which was 4 years ago. His exams were very fair. I didn't sign up for any exam reviews or any additional help and beat class average. He is a generous grader and always willing to negotiate grades if something is not right. Would recommend.
Enver is a great professor! He explains concepts well. He also has amazing eyebrows!!! Definetely take his class!
This class is good for people who don't want to show up for lectures and only go to tests. He does not teach well at all and makes many mistakes in his teaching. H9is work is messy and he mumbles his process. Don't take him if you want someone who actually teaches!
Enver is the best math prof I've ever had. He's extremely clear, very engaging and really knows what he's doing. I hope I can take the rest of my math courses with him.
enver is hilarious. just don't ask questions in class or you will be given the soviet stare.
First off Im pretty sure I bombed the Final even though I went in with a good mark, and even still I think Enver is a great prof. His voice alone keeps me attention, and he often smiles when introducing new topics as he seems to really enjoy teaching. Midterm not bad, Final... If I fail I will probably still take Enver again
Not worth buying textbooks at all. As someone who took Math 31, this was an easy course. Use the Decima-Robinson help centre, it will save your life. Form an alliance group chat to share answers, it will save your life. The exams are literally just him picking questions you did in class and changing the numbers, so redo those. He + his accent rock
Really explained the concepts well
Was a great professor who explains concepts very well and included many examples. His notes were great and posted everything was posted on eclass, the examples in his notes were also very similar to those that were on tests. I really enjoyed calculus because of him. Midterm was easy but final was a bit more difficult as there was not a lot of time
Great prof overall! I was able to follow along with his Russian accent, plus he explains the concepts really well. If you choose to sit in the front of the lecture hall, he makes eye contact with you from time to time, so I would suggest to just nod whenever he does that. I did well on the midterm, but I felt the final was slightly more difficult.
God, do I love profs that write notes w/ their surface posted online. Has fill-in notes. Midterm and final were rough due to time-constrain. Slight Russian accent. Tests tend to be less proofs, clear is what's on them. He's pretty chill, just teaches from the seats of the lecture sometimes w/ his pointer.
He is nice but can't explain the materials clearly. Midterm is fine but the final is hard.
Nice guy but has difficulty explaining technical ideas sometimes and paced his class horribly. Reading the textbook independently is a must to actually understand topics, although his lectures aren't useless as he uses examples that sometimes show up on the midterm and final.
Upper B/Lower A list prof. It's sometimes hard to understand his thick eastern european accent, and his writing isnt the most legible. He does make an effort to help you if you need it, and has a good sense of humor. If you're not familiar with calculus before taking math 114 however, his fast pacing may leave you confused, so be prepared.
Enver has a thick accent which was difficult to make out in the early morning lectures, although he loved to crack jokes to make the class bearable. Very helpful in office hours, particularly with the assignments which often needed additional clarification. The midterm was absolutely brutal, although the final more than made up for it.
Enver is a caring prof, and if people actually ask questions in class he will answer them (but you have to ask)! The overall assignments are brutal compared to the textbook questions (strongly recommend doing those for practice), but overall, a good prof who is good at what he teaches.
Cant understand what he says and does in class, also cant read his writing half the time. Puts the class to sleep like no one else and has a general disregard for the class, like he is almost talking to himself.
Accent is hard to understand, he is unclear in what he is trying to say most of the time. Writing is hard to read, email replies are vague and unprofessional. Posts notes late, sometimes not in time for the lecture. Seems unorganized most of the time and over-complicates the concepts. He's funny though.
You can barely read what he posts online and he did not post the solutions to the final exam and final exam was 20x harder than the midterm. Class was not curved either and his email replies were very unprofessional and he replied with yes or no only with no explanation. Do not recommend him at all.
Enver is clearly good at what he does; the problem is that it is hard for him to convey concepts clearly to the class. I had taken calc before this class, and that is the only reason I passed. Assignments were really hard, midterm was fair, but final was also difficult. Would recommend if you've taken basic calc before, but not for first timers.
Incredible prof.
Dr. Osmanagic is pretty good. Calculus III is a difficult course for many but he gave examples which showed up on exams. It's pretty important to use the textbook in my opinion.
Enver clearly knows what he's doing. His teaching style is very direct, and even though his notes are difficult to follow along, he always gives a clear explanation on the concepts learned in class and provides exceptional feedback to students having difficulties in this course.
I think Enver's lectures would be better in a small class but in the big ccis lecture halls theyre just long and boring. Doesnt teach the concepts just skips to hard questions. The only good part is that he does examples almost identical to the weekly written assignments but I have to learn the rest on my own time.
102 is a hard course. Enver makes it harder by being hard to understand, and have TERRIBLE writing. If I pass this course it will be thanks to youtube videos, and friends. DO not take him as an instructor.
Enver has illegible handwriting and the thickest accent I have ever heard on a professor. His lectures put me to sleep every time. Thank god for the internet or I would have failed his class for sure. The only redeeming quality about Enver is that his examples are valuable and he posts his notes online.
If you have taken math 30 & 31 (or just 30), make sure to register in the precalculus and the weekly review seminars. it cost's money, but you aren't in uni to be cheap. do it. that's the key to your A+ in this class. this prof is mediocre, and you need to go to class to do his examples b/c posted ones WILL NOT MAKE SENSE otherwise. practice a lot
His notes are great for doing the homework packs, however theyre not so great for actually understanding whats going on, class was dreadfully dull and almost always put me to sleep, handwriting is also pretty messy, only reason i went to his class was because the other proffs are even worse or the same, office hours were helpful tho
He's an average prof. His lectures are boring and seem very long. His notes are good and have examples similar to the ones on assignments, however his handwriting is very hard to understand at times. He clearly knows what he is talking about and is helpful one on one. This was just a hard course overall though. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK IT IS TERRIBLE
Has good notes and I self-studied the course using only his notes. I tried goingto class before midt but his voice is really boring and I couldnt concentrate on his lectures so I bombed the midt cause I didnt understand anything, but Im really confident abt 102 now. You should only go to class to see where hes at so that you dont fall behind
Funny prof with fairly good notes with relevant examples to exams/homework that get posted. His midterm is straightforward; his final is more difficult, but very doable if you practice and practice! Hes a good choice if youve already taken calc. Know that Math 114 will be VERY DIFFICULT, regardless of prof, if you didnt take high school calc!
It takes a while to get used to his accent and writing, but in the end it is worth it. His notes have examples that are similar to those on assignments and he is way better than most of the other profs.
Awesome prof, gotta be one of the best math profs at the university. Math 209 turned out to be a breeze with him over spring term. Very well organized and very good online notes posted after each class. Read his notes and ur good for exams.
I found parts of this course to be difficult, however the notes that are posted are good and fairly easy to follow along. The lectures were average and a bit boring but informative. The examples used in class were similar to what was on the exams. The labs were great and helped you learn the material well.
Awesome prof for Math209 taken over spring term. Basically you can read and internalize his notes and you will be ready for any exams thrown your way. The labs however were terrible, they didn't help much in learning the material and were rather stupidly hard.
He is really helpful in his office hours and cares for his students. He emphasizes a lot on key points where students make mistakes, enjoys teaching the course. If you go to his lectures and understand what he is doing you are set for math 209. I did bad in the midterm but he inspired me in his office hours which helped me give the best final ever.
I struggled with understanding him in the lecture, his accent is very thick and he speaks quickly so you need to pay attention. His notes were great and very helpful. I would have gone to all of his classes with the notes provided printed out prior to class if I could have done it again.
A lot of his examples are good for doing the homework questions (He makes the webassign questions and probably the written) Hes got a thicc accent and sometimes raises his voice randomly in class (to wake up someone?). The midterm was fair if you can do all the assignments. The final is quite hard and you'd have to do a lot of practice to get a B.
Dr. Osmanagic's accent is thicker than my Biology textbook. His notes are decent and he goes step by step through examples in his notes. His tests, however, are difficult, but as long as you practice you will do fine. He explanations are not as helpful when you ask him questions (and judges you when you don't understand a concept). Overall mediocre
It was confusing how he explained his method to solve problems, but his notes are good once you understand the concept. Just need to do lots of practice problems to do well in the class. Midterm is easy, and final is fair, but has more challenging questions that were in the notes and textbook. Barely anyone attended the class by the end.
The accent is okay once you get used to it. Even I can understand it and it is my first year to Canada as English my second language. Tests are not easy but fair. But there is a curve in his class and it is about between c+ and b- so there is nothing to worry about. Just do everything he posts on eclass.
His accent does require some getting used to, but after the initial adjustment you will really enjoy his class. His material is relevant to the questions you will be tested on and his notes are excellent.
Not good :(
Enver is very accessible outside of class, and his notes are fairly good, though still hard to understand without attending lectures. Math 114 will be harder than high school calculus, even if you've done IB/AP so be prepared to actually study.
An amazing professor teaching a quite difficult course.
He's an older dude but his teaching has benefited from this. He teaches the important stuff and works through related problems.
His notes are really inspirational. Even if you don't listen to his class, you can still learn all the things only by the notes. His notes are always better his lecture itself.
bad prof. end of story
Enver was my favourite prof in my entire first year, extremely good at teaching a very challenging topic of linear algebra. I attended other lectures and can say he is by far the best lin alg prof at the uofa
I could not understand this guy at all. I don't think he can even understand himself because he seems confused most of the time- in fact, students had to correct his solutions often. That being said, his online notes are decent. Exams weren't too bad, make sure you review textbook questions.
I did not like his teaching style at all, he writes the notes on a tablet but he keeps scrolling up and down which makes it hard to write down the notes. Even though the lectures were very slow, I couldn't get all the notes because he would scroll up right after he wrote the notes so I couldn't copy it down in time.
Has a heavy accent and can be difficult to follow sometimes, but does a decent job explaining concepts that aren't completely clear in the textbook or online videos.
The writing and lecture are extremely unclear, every lecture has no center, feeling is to think of that to talk about that, international students carefully selected. His class is not that the class is difficult, but that the teacher is disgusting, that the concepts and knowledge points are blurred by him, that the knowledge is a mess, and that you
Honestly hes the worst prof Ive ever seen during this online time. Cant explain theories but messing everything up. He doesnt even know how to teach remotely, and never take advice from students. Ignorance and ignorant.
Even though he has a high rating on here, I did not like his teaching. It was too disorganized. Crowdmark assignments take a long time and I went the Decima centre a lot. Took it during covid-19 winter 2020.
My hw got 50% and the solution said da exact same thing as what I typed. And he didnt bother to rly take a look at it. Instead he was like ah idk mb its ur CHINESE computer. I was like wth ye my setting was in chinese but the keyboard worked just fine with Eng or why would I get the 50%? He just kept saying he had no clue like i was annoying him :)
One of the worst profs. It was very difficult to understand what he said in lectures. His examples weren't that good as well. The webassigns were annoying, written assignments were fine. The midterm and final were super hard. You need to do a lot of problem solving for this class, from the textbook or wherever.
Professor Osmanagic really left something to be desired. His instruction is sub-par at best and his microphone will catch you off guard with a loud feedback noise every ten minutes or so. Outside of class he is not very accessible and his responses to email questions or in-class questions come off as very rude. I would avoid his math classes.
Worst prof ever, in fact the complete course is trash.
Enver is one of the best option there is in the list but he's still very hard to follow. He does his best to explain students but remember his exams are extremely hard and will have almost everything showed in class.
Currently have him for Math 209. Seems like a nice guy, swapped to online classes like 2 days before school started. Has the absolute worst mic in the history of mankind. Blows out my eardrums on a 5 minute timer during zoom lectures and pre-recorded videos. If I ever saw him at campus, I would personally buy him a new mic, that is how bad it is.
he was alright, kinda rough because he's the type of prof to help the students doing well excel but leave the ones struggling in the dust
Dr. Osmanagic's a good prof. His explanations & examples were clear and easy to follow. He definitely needs a new mic for his computer though.
I'm not very good at math so maybe I'm biased in saying he's not the BEST prof, but he's decent enough. His online lectures were kinda awful since his mic would randomly screech but he has really good notes that help with the homework. Tough grader on the midterms and finals though.
Good professor, lecture notes are helpful but online quizzes can sometimes be confusing. Overall had a very good experience with Professor Osmanagic
Overall, above avg prof. Lectures are boring for the first 30min before he dives into math examples. His filled in notes are sometimes hard to read and understand if you didn't attend the lectures. He makes quite a few mistakes doing example problems. His preclass videos are from 2020 and have terrible audio. The final was easy.
I found him great honestly, he is very straightforward and offer many oppertunities for questions
Being in Dr. O's class wasn't the best. His notes are very messy, he didn't explain concepts clearly and usually has trouble backtracking on what he said. I ended up just going to another professor's class to learn linear algebra otherwise I would've failed the class. No office hours but responds to emails quickly.
Very bad do not take at ANY COST he is the worst prof for MATH 125 DO NOT TAKE
Very Disorganised. Hard to understand his lectures and not that helpful
Hard to understand his lectures, and his notes are not clear.
Lectures were confusing and difficult to follow. Sometimes made mistakes during lectures which would cause even more difficulty. Notes were messy, often illegible. I've never come close to failing a course but I'm worried about this one. I'd take this course again with a different prof.
He is good and kind prof I have never meet, is happy to help students understanding the class material. Although a little students attend his lecture, still love his lecture and teaching. always provide the easier way to think about questions. Overall, I think he is amazing in this course.
I found him hard to understand and he wasn't vary clear about things (neither were his notes). I already struggled with math coming into this, but I should've avoided this prof. You have an assignment every single day and things pile up fast. overall, would never take another class with him
