Very interesting course text he includes with the course (Mass Murderers). Quite funny and very easy course. Just as long as you show up and pay attention, you can get a good mark.
Interesting class. He's got some funny stories. Goes off topic a lot, but that made lectures more enjoyable. Study a lot for midterm and final.

Ehor was a big tangenter and name dropper, and didn't have very structured lectures. Besides that, found the class interesting and would gladly take another with him.
Good teacher and the subject material wasn't bad. He was definitely enthusiastic about the subject. Midterm was hard and the final was tricky. Take some other Crim courses before you take this one.
horrible horrible class.. the lectures were unclear. For the midterm he told us to study concepts only, and not specifics, so waht does he do? Put a question asking about a specific thing.. almost everyone did bad!!
Bad class, bad teacher, I learned nothing from this class that I did not already know before I took it. LAME. Total waste of time. I got an A in this class and it is the only reason I am not totally displeased...
I took this course after taking two first year intro psych courses, plus a second year course in social psychology. I obtained an A, under an extreme work load. I sense this professor is stuck in a groove. Not recommended.
Interesting course for non-crim students, probably because of his constant sexual references. Not marked super hard and very informative.

Sadly enough, i looked forward to taking this course and was sadly disappointed by this arrogant, egocentric arse. I have never met anyone that was so full of himself and could talk on and on about nothing (but yet, could not teach what he was supose to).
Ehor is disorganized and completely unprepared, his lectures have no point, and he tells the same stupid stories over and over again. He's rude, interpupts people's presentations, and gives a quiz then decides not to mark it - lazy!!
Thinks he knows something, but has no clue. Probably wanted to be bad at one point, but didn't have the guts to take the plunge. Coward.
By far this was the best course I've taken on campus. Material is REALLY interesting, exams not too hard, midterm was a breeze!! Definitely worth taking!!

Fantastic class one of the best offered
The man is hilarious. Actually considered going on webct just to listen to his stories. However, you will be thouroughly screwed if you do not read the text for exams, as he doesn't always test on lecture materials. Makes what could be boring material very interesting... I looked forward to class.

Worst prof ever!! unfair exams!! ruined my interest for crim!!! leaves cell phone on in class!! we dont give a damn about his stocks!! and his girlfriend he mentions over and over again....Learn how to use to freaken lights! and get new overheads, the ones that he has are from 20+ years ago....
Has some funny stories, but lectures can be long. He is not bad, not great, could have better notes, but the book has everything you need.
He's the most disorganized prof ever! Always late, puts up one slide for the class and basically digresses from there for 1 1/2 hrs. Tells u all these sexual stories & doesn't cover wut he is supposed to. Midterm was a breeze though if u studied the TEXTBOOK~ just rememb the big names and theories!
he tries to be funny and uses wierd voices and waits by saying, "um.. ok." to see if the class laughs at his stupid jokes. lectures are all about case studies, not relevant to whats on exam.

Not loving the lectures! One overhead that is all marked up? Lectures unorganized and not helpful for the exams. Fills up majority of the two hours talking about his past wives. Not focused- never has a point- everyone in my class wishes our TA was teaching instead. Has some good jokes and gossip.
I, being a male, didn't mind him, altough he is rather crass, and many stories are overtly sexual. Always has gorgeous TAs. Is a bit of a chauvinist from what I gather. The stories are good and probably true, but extremly tangential.
needs to upgrade- no webct, no powerpoint, no other resources. He leaves you at the mercy to his oddball, tricky mulitple choice exams that focus on wording not content or understanding of material. I wouldn't mind chatting to him at a party, but I would not want to take another one of his classes.
He tries to be too funny, very disorganized, but a nice guy though. If you read the text book you should be able to do pretty good on the exams. Very intestesting course content. Midterms is all written, pretty straight forward, easy. Final is tough, m/c are tricky. Overall is a pretty decent course
I know he is unorganized but come on people, other than that the course was easy. JUST READ THE TEXT BOOK! theres no way you can do bad on the exams. It is an interesting course although Boyanowsky has some cons. I recommend it if you need it as a requirement or even as a simple elective
Dr. Boyanowsky's class is in fact one of the easiest classes EVER! He spends about 50 mins talking about relevant material and the other 50 mins talking about his ex-wife annoyances, his kids, cookies, England and SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX. And strangely, has THE MOST attractive T.A's on campus. I find him irritating at times, but entertaining!

He treats people with little respect and his final exam is nothing like his midterm and studying doesn't help at all for the final. I passed the course with a B. He is a sucky prof!!!

Great class if you’re only looking for entertainment and not great for the content. He would do so much better if he related his stories to the content of the course and did something for Web CT.
course material is interesting, but his lectures are all over the place. Spends half the lecture lecturing on irrelvant stuff. Read the text and you'll do well on the midterm. The final however is pointless to study for. It was so difficult and stuff that you probably havent heard of will show up on it.
HARD HARD HARD! Midterm is hard with NO review and nobody knows what to expect. FINAL is CUMMULATIVE with 80M/C questions... IMPOSSIBLE! lectures are everywhere, very little teaching. You'll spend your life reading while in this class. in one word his class is... IMPOSSIBLE
terrible! His lecture SUX: unorganized and unclear. He jumps around and you dont even know here he's at! No pt at all going to his lecture... He seems not willing to help his students; he gets annoyed if you ask him more than 1 question. There's nothing wrong if you treat this class as a distant class coz you only need to read the text.
Do NOT take his 103 class. He talks about irrelevant info the whole lecture and has the WORST notes I've ever seen (nothing's on webct). His tests are unpredictable and based on ramblings from his lecture that few understood. Do yourself a favour and stay out of his lecture!!
Boyanowsky's lectures are disorganized and confusing. He rambles on and on about random irrelevant stuff, will briefly mention a study (or start talking about it then go off on a 20 miunte tanget) and then ask ridiculously specific questions on it (80 MC final). The midterm is hard but doable, if you read the text, but the final is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!
Worst class I have ever taken. Studying for the exams in this course is useless. His lectures are two hours of sex jokes. No course material is taught in class. Do not take this class unless you feel like wasting your time and money.

He really enjoys telling stories..seriously...he doesn't go through the text stuff...so..beware! If it's a requirement, my advice is to suck it up and sit through his 2 hour lecture and listen to him blab on and on about off-topic material. Lectures are worth 50% about the material though...
I like his no **** style. Refreshing to have a prof that does not sugarcoat everything.
He doesn't lecture from the book. Midterms have nothing to do with book. EVerything to do with his lectures. Doesn't give notes, talks fast. Worst prof I ever had! Take the course in the summer when other profs teach it....he's a waste of time and money.

LOTS of material to study. don't bother attending lectures, read the texts....his TA w/ long dark hair (his "veteran" TA) is awesome at reviewing material from lecture. TA is good at what she does and she's really helpful. E.O can not teach....one of those profs that need an education degree!

Don't bother attending lectures. He goes too fast for anyone to follow. Just listen to the online lectures. Midterm was ALL from the text and final was relevant to NOTHING. Seriously, everyone finished within one hour just checking any MC. Final advice: AVOID AT ALL TIMES. Think ur up for challenge? Think again. I thought i was...horribly regret.
Prof-->out of his mind! Nobody can follow his lecture; even when I listened to it at home, it made no sense!! He jumps from one topic to another without clarification! Terrible prof! Very surprising that he is still teaching considering all the bad reviews! For the final, you have to study about 500 pages of txt book + notes! It's a 1st yr course!!
I learned EVERYTHING from my TA. Her name is Jennifer. SHe is superb and precise with her teaching. Boyanowski is horrible. He may have a sense of humour, but when it comes to the midterm and final, WATCH OUT! The final made absolutely no sense.
Holy Wow this class was hard. The material is very interesting and tutorials were entertaining.The Lectures were good and he's a funny guy, but wow the Final was an assault on the mind. The papers and smaller assignments are fair and decent. The Final...oh boy, all multiple choice and it made me wish it was 5 essay's instead. Studying isn't enough
He's not as bad everyone says he is. He's an interesting lecturer but he doesn't stay on topic 75% of the time. His exams aren't as difficult as everyone says it is. Obviously ppl who took this class didn't invest their time into reading the text or attend lectures. If you plan to major in Crim, you'll just have to bare and grin this class.
The final was brutal. I'm a 4th year student with a 3.8 GPA....I studied the textbook inside out but it was a waste of time. The final did not test your knowlege or award those who studied. Watch out! The lectures were awesome. The prof was very entertaining, and you do learn a lot....just watch out for the final, it was a joke!

He's not a bad guy, but he sure is dull. Also, he will belittle students in front of the class if they answer incorrectly or do a poor presentation. Skip 301. It's not worth it.
Extremely difficult to understand. Goes on random tangents which you think are useless but are very important. I got a good grade expecting the worst after reading this but honestly its not that hard. Titi marks EASY. The rest of the whiners are honestly straight dumb. Put in some effort, pay attention, go to class (MUST), and study.
Very interesting fellow. He's lived a full life and knows lots, his anecdotes and stories are the best part of class. I learned so much. As a mature student, take it from me when u go out in the world its profs like this u remember and who really teach you the most. Plus, course was pretty darn easy and didn't consist of a lot of work.
This course is useless. The exams are so hard. For the mid-term, it's 3 essay questions. Gives you two mandatory and 1 not. No point in studying for this course, you can study for hours and not know a thing. Do not take this course with Ehor, TAs are useless as well.
I found this class mostly his own beliefs and if you didn't agree you got a lower mark. He also seemed to favour the pretty girls. Also, if you were not outgoing, you're grades weren't going to be stellar either. He interrupted everyone's thoughts with his own and he even berated a girl in front of everyone.
A great 3rd year course to take for upper div. credit. Not overly difficult if you keep up. Interesting material. Play the game, and walk away with a good mark.
Nice and funny guy. His lecture material and the books are your best friends in this class. MUST read the chapters and know his lecture very well. Make sure you attend every tutorial and participate and do a good job on the presentation as they are worth 30%. Final is do-able as long as you study everything from the beginning to the end.
Tells interesting stories but is scattered and all over the place. Make sure u keep up w/ the textbook readings cuz if u dont ull be screwed come exam time. Lectures are disorganized and content is scattered. However exams are mostly on his lectures so you NEED to pay attention and try to take notes. Overall not a hard course, your grade will reflect the work you put into it. Keep up with the readings and participate in tutorial and your presentation and you'll do fine.
Funny guy, but a hard class. Study for the midterm because its fair. The final is difficult and a lot of the content isn't really covered so beef up your mark earlier in the semester. The class is scaled so the more you study, the better you'll do
He is an amazing scholar! One of the most intelligent people i've ever met. BRILLIANT PROF. I love his lectures, it's definitely worth listening to the recorded lectures a second time if you want to get an A. I admire his work. However, the downfall is that we did not receive a textbook, koz he is still editing it. still did well. Take the course!
One of the funniest and most interesting professors I've ever had. The random sex stories are awesome. Presentations were fair and midterm paper was quite fair. If you do well on the MT (which almost everyone does), then the mark is shifted to your final as well. The class is really as easy as everyone says if you put in the effort.
Course itself was very interesting, prof is a good lecturer, midterm was difficult, does not help you prepare for it and final was worse. Not an easy course, to get a good mark you need independent self directed learning because he doesn't help very much.
Ehor was a very engaging Professor and was very passionate about the material. If I could take another class with Ehor I would in a heartbeat!
One of the best professors I have ever had, knowledgeable, funny guy, nice, and he grades fair. If you need clarification, he will talk with you after class or in office hours. Bad ratings seem to be coming from first year students who did poorly. Anyone with a shred of academic ability should find Dr. Boyanowsky's class a joy.
