Great teacher during offic hours, is a major **** on his tests, but usually will let you make up problems you miss.
He's a pretty nice guy, but is so boring during the lectures. He started off teaching crap that didn't relate to physics, but lately he's been teaching some good stuff.
Yes very boring. Lectures are mainly cover theory and proofs, no homework examples. Test are multiple choice, A-H. Discussion sections and TA's are completely worthless, I only went twice and quite going. The only reason to go to class is for daily quiz

Class is hard with anyone, i got a B and was glad for it. His test are very hard, no partial credit. 100% right or wrong, NICE!!! Thank god it is over
Course was hard as hell and half of the lectures were over crap that wasn't related to physics.
Difficult course material, but he was a very personable prof. However, the correlation between DISC section and lecture needs to include working out HW problems, something he refused to do in class or in DISC, unless you visited during office hours.
The material was difficult, but the professor is very helpful. Take his class if you get the chance.
best physics teacher i've had at ou. funny, nerdy.
People should rate the professor and not the class. Abraham has always rocked socks.
Dr. Abraham was wonderful. The class material was difficult but he did a great job at explaining it and was very helpful if you had questions. Take this class if you get the chance.
Eric is a great guy. He is an even better teacher. He really has taken the time to understand how people can best relate to the concepts in physics. Seriously, compared to other physics professors, he is top notch.
He is awesome. Almost all he does in lectures are example problems (i don't know what these other people were talkin about). He is funny and actually cares about student feedback. Not an easy-a but definitely an easy-to-learn class.
Good teacher, but tackles material that is very difficult.
Seems like a nice guy, but his lectures tend to be quite boring and are usually filled with pretty useless information. Do not expect to see many actual homework examples being worked out. As for the tests - - I am not a fan of his multiple choice format. Way too many choices, and no chance for partial credit except in the final section.
The class started off seeming easy, but ended being quite hard. The tests were usually much harder than what was learned in class, and the homework was next to impossible. I left the class this spring thinking I was going to have a B and wound up receiving a D. Abraham's teaching style is definitely not ideal.
Passionate teacher for physics. Pretty much enjoyed physics and Abraham all semester. Definitely recommend this guy!
Dr. Abraham is a great and funny professor. He did easy reading quizzes online each week (skimming works). He mostly did examples in class, and did attendance with clickers. Tests were T/F, multiple choice and a couple of worked problems, and he curves. I honestly didn't take notes or pay attention in class, but I still got an A.
He is very passionate about physics and is always very helpful in class. However, I am not a fan of his online lecture format. He does example problems in class, and the online lectures add up to be very time consuming and monotonous.
He is a very good professor and legitimately wants to see his students succeed. However, I would NOT advise taking his honors section. Everything is the same except for the recitation section, which he makes incredibly difficult for no reason. If you are a physics or math major you may get something out of it, otherwise don't bother.
Loves what he does, and teaches it well. Gives you a lot of chances to make a good grade in the class such as test corrections. Didn't like his online lectures, but you don't really HAVE to watch them if you pay attention to his examples in class. Great job, taking him again for 2524
Dr. Abraham doesn't teach you very much in class. He expects you to teach yourself from watching his online videos outside of class. The only helpful thing is that he offers test retakes at the end of the semester to improve your grade. Not a whole lot of grade opportunities.
I had him for the half online half in class course. He was always very helpful and approachable. He held help sessions on Thursday nights to answer students questions and assist them with their homework.
GREAT teacher
great teacher who loves the subject. I'm honestly not that smart but if you do exactly what your supposed to you can do well. read the textbook each week, watch videos before lecture, get homework done on time, pay attention to lecture, study for exam.
One of the best lectures the University has to offer. If you are taking physics and have the chance to take Abraham and don't, you're shooting yourself in the foot. Test prep is required as points aren't just given to you, but with moderate preparation exams are ok.
Dr. Abraham is a great professor. He structured his tests around 30 MC questions (only 25 count) and he may curve the test. With that said, he is a nice grader but the students must learn the material to pass. Do a moderate amount of preparation and you should be fine. If you get the chance to take Dr. Abraham's class, do it.
It is physics so the material can be tricky to grasp. Dr. Abraham is very helpful during lecture and he has a session once a week besides office hours where you can ask questions if needed while doing homework. Tests are 30 MC questions and he grades out of 25. If you get the chance, take him. Plus, he is funny in class
If you're taking physics take Dr. Abraham. He takes his time with students and their questions. He wants everyone to understand the material and has weekly action centers. Tests are straight forward and not too bad. Make sure you attend class. Participation is a larger number of "free" points toward your grade.
Dr. Abraham is hands down the best professor I have had so far. Even if you don't have the opportunity to take his class, view his YouTube channel, AbrahamPhysics. His videos are extremely helpful.
Great Professor
Although absolutely dreading physics after being forced to take a class over it, I still think Eric is an overall great teacher. He is definitely there for you and goes above and beyond to help you succeed. He has set the bar extremely high!
You can tell he spends a lot of time preparing and planning his course and tests. I never went into his office hours, but I can tell he is willing to help anyone. If the tests are too hard he curves them a lot. A VERY fair professor. You 100% deserve the grade you receive.
I purposely skipped physics 2 for a semester just to take it with him. I highly recommend to take his class and visit his action center hours. For phys2524 he does 6 quizzes instead of 3 midterms. There's a final but the quizzes are just 10 questions and all meltable choice. Study, go to class, do the homework, and attend the action center.
Before I got to OU, I hadn't been exposed to physics one bit. I didn't take any physics in high school, so I was extremely nervous jumping into high level physics with no prior knowledge base on the subject. Dr. Abraham gives phenomenal lectures, and I really enjoyed the teaching tactics he employed. Overall, Abraham is the man--he's funny too
If you love to integrate problems and make your own equations, take him because he will give you videos some of them are 30 mins long on D2l explaining how to drive or integrate equations. In exams, he will assign problems that you must be master in physics in order to solve them. Equations hunters will fail his class. Boring insructuor.
His lectures are interesting for the most part. Definitely take good lecture notes because he goes over difficult problems in detail. It's hard to understand the examples in the book sometimes. Abraham has made a lot of online lecture and example videos-WATCH THEM. They're great help. He's great at explaining things in office hours. Tests are hard.
Eric is very kind. Tough Love. Gives past questions to study the Thinking/Reasoning process. Pay attention to THE QUESTIONS and Read answers before working. Responsible for what is in his NOTES. He gives points for everything. Best to make a study group, work/look up problems at end of ch. Brush up on trig., no escaping it.
You're only graded on quizzes, which really affects your grade if you don't do well. He was testing out his online "textbook" on us, and I felt like he really didn't teach us anything. He will sometimes spend an entire class period on just one example, and he makes things difficult. He gives some extra points and is really nice, though.
His class wasn't horrible. He gives 8 quizzes instead of tests which occur once every two weeks. We used his online textbook which was basically links to his youtube page. His videos are decently helpful. He lectures were pretty dry and I had a hard time following them. He grades Learning Catalytics (basically clickers) instead of taking attendance
In the process of making his own textbook so all materials are free for students which is amazing. His textbook contains youtube videos of exactly how to do each unit. Lectures are very similar to these videos and just go slightly more in depth. Extremely nice guy and also NO EXAMS! 8 quizzes that are not comprehensive and the lowest grade drops.
I originally took Physics 2514 at OCCC and failed. I was terrified of coming to OU to retake it. Professor Abraham was amazing though! He used an online (free) textbook that he wrote, and it was great. His lectures were straight from his book. He provided plenty of practice problems and videos to explain the answers to them. My favorite class!
I've never appreciated a professor more than Professor Abraham. Online textbook is phenomenal and can be done at your own pace so it isn't a high stress class. Online textbook was written by him and its short and concise with no fluff. Practice problems are optional (but I highly recommend doing them). I wish I had him for 2524
MY WHOLE CLASS LOVES HIM HES AWESOME AND DESERVES THE BEST
Dr Abraham is one of the funniest most down to earth professors I've had. But the reason I wouldn't take him again is because he teaches from an online textbook that he wrote, and it's video based. And for me personally I learn best reading. The order he teaches concepts in also makes it very difficult to follow along with the physical textbook.
Dr. Abraham is a really nice professor who is funny and easy going. Overall he is a good lecturer and gets the material across well. However, if you like one on one help with your professor, he is not for you. Most of the time he will just tell you to send him an email and and will not help whatsoever. He acts annoyed if you go up to him to ask a q
All quizzes and exams come straight from a FREE online textbook that he wrote himself. Always provides feedback and does Q&A. Funny and makes class enjoyable. The subject itself is hard, but you can tough through it, especially with him, since he is so helpful.
Prof Abraham has students best interest and heart and clearly cares about the topic. But, for me I need step by step clarification with physics and most lectures he would spend the whole 50 minutes doing one problem. It was hard getting a lot of explained practice because he would only work one in class.
Hands down the best professor at OU. His online textbook is phenomenal and helpful for tests. Hes also extremely lenient and gives out plenty of extra credits. However, everything is self-paced due to large class so prepare to organize yourself. Overall, his class is a model for a real college experience.
Graded out of 7 quizzes and the final, gives a lot of extra credit (4%). The quizzes are also 12 questions, but only 10 go on the grade. His online (free) textbook is awsome, everyone should take him for 2514 and 2524
Super funny guy but his teaching style just wasn't clicking to me. I wish he gave us more practice problems. He did write his own textbook for the class, which is amazing, but I felt as if it lacks practice problems. If you pay attention and keep your quizzes, you WILL do good on the final!
Made physics doable, he even writes his own text book
Dr. Abraham is a fantastic professor and an excellent lecturer for physics. I had him for 2514 and 2524 and wouldn't hesitate to take him again if I needed to.
He was the most accommodating professor during quarantine. When we had class, he was great at explaining the material. Went out of his way to make things more understandable for us.
If you want a chill class with a great professor where you still get to learn stuff, this is it.
let me preface this by saying I HATE PHYSICS. That being said, Eric is one of the best profs I've had. Really funny, nice guy. Big on dad jokes. The course quizzes were hard i.m.o. (then again I hate physics so-) but he allows a sheet of notes. He's really good about changing the points given if he makes a mistake/ doesn't explain it well enough!
Professor eric lets you enjoy physics and cares about teaching more than grades. His grade breakdown helps you alot, no midterms just 8 short quizzes and a final.
Great professor. Show up to class, take notes, and the quizzes will be easy and so will your A.
I love Dr. Abraham. He is a great professor that is passionate about what he teaches and cares about his students. His online textbook (which is free btw) literally teachers you everything for physics I. He even posts jokes on his Twitter and is always accessible for help. I would gladly take his class again just to have him as my professor.
Professor Abraham has a set criteria for communication and grading. You do the work, you will pass. His lectures are easy to follow and his TA's grade most everything. He doesn't require make-ups for exams/quizzes/discussions that you have documentation for. Drops lowest quiz. Take really good notes. Allows 1 pg notes on all quizzes/exams.
Really great professor. Made the transition to online learning much easier because he actually cares about teaching the material. Course breakdown was really helpful and he offers extra credit. Quizzes were really short but made up most of the course grade. Allowed a page of notes for each quiz and the final.
Abraham is the best physics professor I have ever had. A real blast every day and you can really tell he enjoys teaching to the students. Homework and exams are quite challenging but if you show up and do all of the work it will be a cruise to an A.
Dr. Abraham is a really good teacher! You need to do the readings though, as he focuses less on explaining what is physically happening in a system, and more on how to manipulate the equations. He's really down to earth, and jokes around a lot. Class starts and ends on the dot, every time. He recorded and posted his lectures, too. Really cool guy.
Tests are take-home, and you can work in groups on homework. Take notes on lectures and you can learn to solve most of the problems. LOTS of integrals, as he focuses mostly on the math. Take the honors option if you can, it's only 3-5 online coding assignments. If you don't understand something literally just ask him. Hilarious guy, great class.
Wonderful professor! Physics is a difficult topic to learn a digest, and he makes the process go more smoothly. . There is homework and a lab every week, but there's a study session to attend for homework help as well. He grades not just on the answer, but also on the work you provide, regardless if you got the question wrong. Would take it again!
One of the best Physics professors I have ever had. He makes learning fun and gives too much time to his students even outside the classroom. His homework problems are also fun to work with however, his labs were not very organized!
This class was my very first college class and honestly it could not have been a better professor. This guy is awesome. Hes so fun, chill, and understanding. He makes it so easy to be successful and interested in the course. :))
if you have the option, take professor abraham out of any others. he makes the classes fun and worthwhile, and offers plenty of chances to bring your grade up. i 100% would not have passed this class with an a if i had any other professor
Very reasonable and accessible professor. Physics is a difficult topic, but he makes it easier to understand. Very kind and understanding. Has a meetup for homework help every week. Labs are decent and fun. Lots of work to understand concepts.
Super chill professor whose lectures are very organized and accessible. Homework was not overwhelming and we were allowed to have a "cheat sheet" on all exams (mcq). He makes this class very interesting and makes it easy to pass with little effort.
Very funny, chill guy. Participation points from iClicker. Homework is on SmartBooks and he used the learning assignments as extra credit. Very open to discussion, questions, and reviewing the material in and out of class. By far one of the best non-major professors I have ever had. If you get the chance to take his course I would!
Dr. Abraham was always in a good mood for class. He gave plenty of extra credit. There was one reading quiz and assignment each week. It was not a hard class as long as you pay attention.
I would highly suggest taking Dr. Abraham to save your GPA. There wasn't that much homework and his TAs were super helpful in explaining the concepts so you could understand. For the exams, they are a bit tricky but you do get a cheat sheet. He does give out extra credit and curves the exams by a lot if the class doesn't do so well.
This dude has his own YouTube channel where he explains the textbook Khan academy style. Great Professor
Dr. Abraham is incredibly caring for students, he understands when concepts might not be as easy or if there is some calculation no one wants to do. He is always easy to reach and incredibly open with students. He constantly takes and applies student feedback related to lectures or assignments to give everyone the same opportunities.
He made Physics 2 fun and he is very smart. Many things were going wrong for him but he still found a way to make the class enjoyable. You have to do a bunch of reading, and a bunch of studying, but he is caring and thoughtful, and is willing to listen to students. He also has discord to communicate, and curves tests a bunch. I love Professor Abe!
Hilarious guy, very passionate for what he teaches and tries his best to help the class pass. The work is difficult, but study well, TALK TO THE TAs, and you'll be fine. Your gpa will be fine here, he does lots of curve and extra credit. Also, he uses Discord, so automatically a W, feel free to talk to him about anything, like ANYTHING. ifhesees 🦭
Course is VERY difficult but he's an awesome guy. Midterms were hard but had an insane curve, upwards of 20 points + there was provided exam practice questions that were similar + custom equation sheet. LOTS of reading and the HW was super hard (hours to do). Final had INSANE 40 point curve. I thought I was going to fail. Overall, funny guy.
He is a good teacher but the class itself was hard to learn in. he would be a great teacher for a small lecture but for a class of 300, it was difficult. He is very educated in his craft but there was some disconnect in relaying his knowledge to his students. Also no one I have ever talked to has felt confident after a test.
Dr. Abraham is very kind, but his lecture style isn't very informative. He draws diagrams and examples without labeling anything or defining variables. He has graded TopHat questions and attendance. His exams are very difficult, and his TAs grade things incorrectly constantly. The class is a GPA tanker.
Dr. Abraham is so funny and really engages the class. His lectures are a little hard to follow and his examples are very variable-heavy and don't really use any "real-world" examples, which I struggled with. Reading the textbook and doing reading quizzes is imperative for a good grade! He gives a lot of extra credit and curves.
Dr. Abe. What a guy. He's such a funny professor, highly recommend him if you have the option to. As long as you show up to class and pay attention to what he's talking about and work on the homework, your grade will be fine. Exams are curved, and you can get extra credit on them. Physics is a difficult subject but Dr. Abe makes it better!
I have to say that this is one of my best college professors. He is very engaging, and a all around great guy who is real with his students. Best of all, he seems to actually like his job, to an extent.
Was the material for the class difficult? Yes. Was Prof Abe an amazing professor? Absolutely. He actually cares about his students and gives multiple chances. If you actually pay attention during class, (You don't even have to go to every lecture, just go to 1-2 a week.) you will succeed. Trust me. I took the honors section but it wasn't too hard.
Before taking this class, I thought I hated physics and didn't have the capacity to understand it. Now, I'm switching my major to engineering physics. Dr. Abraham is a fantastic lecturer, super helpful during office hours, and has given us multiple bonus credit opportunites on top of the curves. He's also hilarious and receptive to feedback.
I loved Dr. Abe this semester, and he made this class more enjoyable than it should have been. Physics 2 is HARD, but he taught it very well, and if you have to take Physics 2, I'd highly recommend taking it with him. He also offers an ABSURD amount of extra credit and curves generously, which has saved my grade a ton.
His lectures lowkey incomprehensible sometimes but that's okay becauses he is a chiller and funny go to his office hours he might get kinda mad at you for being dumb but again its alright because he funny. Take this for sure. Exams impossible tho
If you're taking Physics 2, this is the way to go. He's probably your best bet when it comes to this class, as he explains well and has generous extra credit/curves. The lectures are sometimes hard to understand, but he's very open to questions and feedback both in and outside of class. He's a funny and personable guy that made Physics 2 enjoyable.
