Great guy, makes class fun. Can be a little slow with grading but short assignments and easy grader. Everyone in class liked him.
Umm... this class was through ASU sync but that really just meant him posting 2 hour lectures and expecting us to watch them. We has 2 reflections 2 exams and about 7 quizzes. Not a hard class, you'll get an A if you read the chapters. I recommend the online version of the textbook though.
Class is on ASUsync and really just consists of three hour lecture videos posted a few days after the scheduled class hour. They take forever to get through and have little important info. Tests and assignments are easy tho if you follow the content. Textbook not necessary
Super lecture heavy videos since we didn't have class at the begin of the semester, but the tests aren't too bad. He's super personable and answers emails quickly. Was a great professor just was a crazy semester that some topics, classes or chapters were skipped due to time.
Loved this class and prof. 1 assignment every other week based upon a social problem of our choice, discussion based class most of the time, his lectures follow the content of the textbook. You don't need to read the textbook, but it helps. Cool dude, I loved being a bjorkling.
This class is gonna be easy, expect open note quizzes and pretty straightforward questions & reflections. Bjorklund is almost too laid back at times that you really don't learn much about sociology, but hey at least you get an easy A!
Bjorklund does a good job covering the material and trying to make topics relatable, but can be a little overkill at times. Lectures can branch out beyond the chapter so make sure you read the book. Quizzes and exams weren't bad. There's a study guide.
Pretty easy class if you do the reading. Willing to help if you reach out. Was a little slow on grading, but cool guy overall.
Very lecture heavy. Weekly 2-3 hour lecture videos posted. I watched them on 2x speed because sometimes they dragged on but were still very relevant . 2 800 word reflections, 2 exams, and 7 quizzes. Quizzes and exams are open note. Textbook is told to buy but I didn't and still got an A. I would take again because the format was fairly paced
I honestly hated this class. He would post 4 hours of boring lecture each Saturday. Then, we were expected to read 40+ pages of the textbook. The schedule was never clear and the class had little to no structure. We had 6 quizzes and two tests. Both were timed and done through canvas (no lockdown browser). Both were open book and open note.
This class was taught on ASU Sync due to the pandemic. However, the professor provided very detailed and entertaining lectures each week. I recommend reading the textbook as well as listening to the lectures in order to prepare for the quizzes. Had about 10 quizzes, 2 exams, reflections and discussion boards. Overall, really cool dude.
The class was alright. There were two reflections, eight discussion posts, six quizzes, and a midterm/final. The class was fairly easy, I took it over ASU sync and I never attended any of the zoom classes or watched any of the lectures. The midterm/final are open note/textbook. I recommend the online textbook so you can search things up easily.
In order to get a full grasp of each topic, one must read a 20 pages from the textbook, listen to the professor's 2 hour recorded lecture (for a 75 minute class), take notes, and study. Too much work. He has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor in lecture videos, and hosts non-mandatory class discussions (which help prepare for quizzes and exams).
Loved him!! I learned SOOOO much!
Your standard class with 400+ people. Just do the reading and work and its an easy A. We never had a class time, so for the most part, it was work on your own. Open note quizzes made this class fairly easy. He also provides two-hour long recorded lectures in addition to the textbook that are interesting to watch.
Hes a really good professor & emails back fast. I would recommend everyone to take his class. His quizzes/exams are fair! He is really funny & understands students if you cant make it to class email him hes really understanding
Textbook taught me everything. He uploaded 2+ hour long lecture videos twice a week (the powerpoints were talking points and did not help teach). I never watched them. Two essays worth 20% of overall grade each. I rushed to do them both and got full points. Quizzes are easy if you read the book. Discussion posts are dumb but easy. (Took fall 2020)
Two papers and two exams make up most of your grade. There are weekly quizzes that you can find in the book since tests and quizzes are open note and open book. The professor is alright. His lectures are a little dry and the powerpoints don't really go with what he says. Attendance was a grade so don't miss class. Overall good if you need credit.
Grade is based on 6 quizzes, 2 exams, and 2 papers. There isn't much homework besides reading the chapters in the textbook. The professor is average, but the class overall isn't too bad. The lectures are supplemental from the textbook and the slides he posts are hard to follow and pretty useless if you don't attend class. Attendance is graded.
Took the class spring 21. The quizzes were helpful with test prep (there were study guides and review sessions for each test). Lectures had a lot of extra info that was sometimes cool, but if you missed class it could be hard to catch up. Eric was easy to get a hold via email and helpful you had a problem.
The class was clearly setup (quizzes, papers, exams). I wish there had been a wider variety of assignments, but I understand it was a large class. Lectures can be confusing if you don't do the reading. Eric used a lot of videos and references to try and make course material stick, which I liked.
Prof Bjorklund, or Eric as he prefers, is arguably the best prof Ive ever had. Many people didnt like him for SOC101, but he was amazing in my class. Taught in a way that was easy to understand & listened student opinion/feedback. Had some really constructive conversation in class. One project at the end of the year, submit small pieces each week.
easy class if you want to do bare minimum, but id really recommend diving deeper and interesting to get more out of it
Professor Bjorklund was really accommodating with me after I had some health issues. He worked with me to make sure I caught up. Really recommend taking his course.
Easiest class I've taken, and most enjoyable. Bjorklund has the strangest energy but the ability to make sociology really interesting to learn. Very easy A. No complaints.
Came into this class convinced I wouldn't like it very much, but ending up really liking it because of the professor. Bjorklund is funny and makes the lectures more bearable to sit through. We had weekly discussions boards and (usually) quizzes, which are super easy if you come to the lectures or read the textbook. Great class overall.
Great lectures, that will keep you informed and interested in the material.
A really chill professor. The lectures were interesting but not completely necessary to get an A. Having the textbook was helpful and you can use it on tests and quizzes so I recommend getting it. Online discussions are worth 50% of your grade so as long as you do those and do average on the quizzes you're fine
Easy class. Didn't go once after fall break. As long as you do the class discussion and average to good on tests you'll have at least a B.
I was sick for like the entire semester, didn't buy the book, missed 75% of classes, and still got an A. But, when I was able to go, he was great, funny and chill guy. Easy discussions and quizzes once a week. Final and everything are open note. Very interesting content wish I hadn't been sick :(
He's one of my fav professors, he is very funny and makes this class interesting
Great and very fun professor. Made 101 very tolerable. Lectures can be a little long as well the readings. If you are just looking for a class for the credit I would recommend him. You could get away with not going to most lectures if you really wanted to. Overall, very funny and a solid professor to have.
Professor Bjorklund only ever lectured. There is no way to learn other than listen so as a hands on and visual learner this was very hard. He gave a lot of information but no way to apply or connect it together. I wouldn't take a class taught by him because there is very little graded and you'll struggle if you miss a class.
He's a pretty chill guy, very lax. I would say stay on top of the discussions for extra points. Definitely read the textbook, because lectures and everything evolve around that for this class.
Very easy class. Went to the first class and never went back. Weekly discussion posts which everyone gets 100%. 2 exams that werent hard. Didnt rly read textbook, but it will help for quizzes. Gave everyone 100% for attendance Bc of Covid. Exams/quizzes all on canvas.
You are mostly graded on discussions, quizzes, and exams. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the quizzes and tests are almost impossible without it. I found the class kind of boring. He is a really chill teacher and is really understanding.
Prof. Bjorklund made SOC101 really enjoyable and easy! It is helpful to show up the lectures. I did not read the textbook a whole lot, but it definitely does help with the quizzes. There were quizzes almost every week and two exams at the end of each semester that weren't hard at all if you pay attention. Bjorklund is a solid choice.
His lectures are so boring. If you don't read the chapter before class you will be completely lost in class. Discussion boards are a big part of your grade and you only have to give your opinion, you don't even need to actually know what you are talking about. Exams aren't that challenging and can find answers online.
He's okay, nothing special really. I found the textbook to be pretty pretentious and inaccessible for learning. It was provided for free, but the content was really grandiose for no reason. Quizzes are very short and sometimes require writing. YellowDigs are stupid easy.
Lectures are repetitive and very boring. It's hard to stay awake. Recommend reading the textbook its more direct and will most likely be on the quiz word-for-word. He is very chill and open for discussion which I liked. If no one starts participating, he will start calling on random people so I would leave if he started doing this. Not horrible.
Bjorklund was a great professor to have as a freshman. He was funny and made the classroom environment very approachable and relaxed. Lectures are simple and interesting. Be sure to to take notes. Exams are not difficult. Personally an easier class. Would take again.
Good teacher, funny guy. Made lectures semi interesting, had a test about once a week open note along with discussion questions.
Dr. Bjorklund was laid back. I would recommend attending lecture. It made the book make sense. He asks a lot of questions of class. Be prepared to talk.
All I have to say is you will NOT be ready for the tests. 101 should not be this hard. Cool guy though.
Super easy class, attendance was encouraged but never enforced (but he did try once). Very genuine person who is obviously passionate about what he teaches. One of the best classes I took this year.
run away
Easy class if you do the reading and take note. Lots of discussion in lecture which was cool. He was helpful outside of class answering questions about quizzes and tests.
attendance is not mandatory for lectures but honestly still went because of how entertaining he is and the effort he makes to relate the material to modern and pop culture topics. grades consist of discussions, quizzes, and exams only ALL open notes. super understanding dude when i missed a quiz due to an emergency and reopened it for me
Eric is so slay honestly. His class is so easy because he puts all of the notes online. I haven't been to the actual class since the beginning of October. It is easy to miss some of the assignment deadlines if you are not in class, so make sure you are constantly checking Canvas. As long as you are actively taking notes, you should be fine.
Bjorklund has really good lectures. As long as you go to his lectures and take notes you should be fine. Just know that the exam questions are tough and more in-depth than the lectures and the textbook. The good news is that quizzes and discussions are worth more than exams (exams are worth 12.5% each).
The class itself is not terrible, attendance is not mandatory and he posts all of his lecture notes on Canvas. His exams and weekly quizzes are pretty difficult and extremely hard to find in the textbook/notes. Discussion posts are worth more than the exams so make sure not to miss those cause they will tank your grade.
Bjorklund is a very laid back teacher who has super interesting lectures. He makes it seem like it should be an easy class; however, his quizzes and midterms are incredibly difficult and timed and he does not prepare you well for them. His reviews are not helpful at all.
Not a ton of homework. The quizzes are worded strangely which makes them a little more difficult. Bjorklund uses fun videos/memes to make the lectures and topics more memorable.
Absolutely terrible professor! His lectures consist of remotely related memes and poorly organized lecture slides. The lectures do not relate to or conflict with the textbook, nor do the tests or quizzes. Claims he rewords questions to make them "un-googleable" but really makes the questions "un-answerable." Wanna pass? Just read the textbook.
Quiz and discussion every week. He is a tough grader and offers no extra credit. Open note, but extremely hard to find answers in the book or notes. Questions worded poorly which makes it hard to comprehend answers. He is funny and uses relatable things to help us understand, but those do NOT show up on the tests and end up being barely useful.
Very easy class, 1 weekly assignment plus quizzes every so often. Quizzes and exams can be a little difficult if you do not go to class which I missed quite a few. Great lectures most of the time.
Good professor, very funny, fun personality, but the tests and quizzes have nothing to do with what is taught in class. The quizzes are also worded weirdly and the reviews don't really help on the exams. If you read the book then maybe you'll do fine.
Really nice professor, just a discussion board and quiz weekly. Attendance is required but he only actually took attendance once. You get better grades on the quiz if you go to lecture because he'll put stuff he only talks about then. Tries to make lecture interesting, better if the class participates.
Very funny professor and uses tiktoks and memes to show us real-world examples of sociology concepts! However, the quizzes and exams are a little tough and some of the questions are worded a little funny. Almost all classes are just lectures, but he is very accessible outside of class for any questions.
This class has about 10 quizzes and 13 discussion posts, then a midterm and a final. His lectures were entertaining but didn't feel like I learned very well from his lectures, but I think he's a great professor. Only downside is that the study guides don't match the tests that well, but at least he gave us a study guide.
Not too heavy of a workload for this class. Occasionally, there would be a hard question on the quizzes/tests. If you read the book, you will be fine. Bjorkland's lectures are not my style, but the class is worth taking overall!
Good Professor. Easy class.
The class was super entertaining and he did a great job of keeping students engaged in what we were learning. Exams are a little difficult, but if you use the resources it is fine.
This class was very easy and I ended up stopping showing up to lectures. All of the information that you needed could be found in the textbook or his lecture slides. Additionally, all tests were open note.
Most lectures correlate to Quizzes, however Exams are not imo. Would not take this class again. Fun lectures but it doesn't help much. Materials he gives out for exam prep are also quite useless as they don't show up on the exam itself. Be prepared to read through the book, no need to fully read, skim and you'll be fine.
His lectures are really entertaining and he does a really good job making his presentations. Down side they don't help much on quizzes and tests. If you don't read the textbook it's really hard to do well. The good thing is everything is open note and book so you don't have to study to much to pass.
The tests and quizzes were extremely difficult but other than that the class is easy.
Prof. Bjorklund was honestly a great professor and the tests and quizzes are pretty different and the quizzes are easy. I went to maybe 1/4 of the lectures and still got a B. His lectures are funny and he relates to his students.
He is good at lectures but the lecture doesn't really Correlate to the exams that much. Most of the material can be learned through the textbook and exams are the only real way to raise your grade because quizes dont count for much.
He's pretty funny, there are some cool videos that he shows in class. Very lecture heavy. He encourages you to read the book, and the exams are basically just reworded questions from the textbook. Open book exams. The only knock was that the lectures felt like they didn't prepare you for the exams, only the quizzes. Class also got boring often.
Bjorklund is a really great dude, incredibly chill and mostly focused on content instead of testing. Teaches like you're just having a convo, which makes it easy to listen and participate. No exams, only a couple quizzes, one paper, and one group presentation. He grades easy and just wants you to do well. Great guy overall, definitely recommend!
Wonderful professor and conducts great lectures. However be warned that quiz & exam material is mainly from the textbook, so while attendance isn't exactly mandatory, still make sure you put in at least some work and you will be just fine in his class. If you normally attend class then you will really like Bjorklund!
He is so nice, I just didn't love the class itself.
Was a good teacher but lectures got boring, and most of the slides were posted online. Tests about every 3 weeks, but overall not hard.
Professor Bjorklund was ok. All of his exams were open note and there was no lockdown browser, but they were still pretty difficult. Most questions are in the lecture slides. He was pretty funny but his teaching was not the most effective. Assignments were easy and if you go to lectures you don't really need to read the textbook.
There is a weekly discussion post and quiz, with a midterm and final. The exams are open note with all the answers in his slides. His lectures were miserable to sit through since he has such a monotone voice. If you can pay attention, the lecture is interesting. He tries to relate the lecture to college students with memes.
Open note exams and easy discussion posts. His lectures are interesting but be tough to follow if you don't do the reading before hand and show up to class.
Professor Bjorklund has organized slides and good data. His lectures are boring and based on textbook. Tests are based on slides and specific. Easy class if you need to get it done.
Professor Bjorklund did a good job connecting material to real life. If you don't skim the book before class lectures will be confusing. He tries to encourage participation and discussion. When people speak up it's a lot better. Assignments were laid out clearly in Canvas so you could keep up. Yellowdigs are easy.
This was easily one of my favorite professors that I've had so far at ASU. He has super engaging lectures. Rather than just lecturing and reading directly off the slides, he encourages class participation and relates course material to our own lives. 10/10 professor. The bad reviews probably didn't even show up to class or participate. W professor
Professor Bjorklund does a good job connecting the book to real life examples and encourages lots of participation. He posts his lectures which helps, but quizzes can still be tricky if you don't go to lecture. There is a Yellowdig every week, but it's easy points. Some extra credit at the end of the semester.
Went to maybe 75% of the classes, but he uploads slides to Canvas. Easy grader. Assignments/projects are somewhat time consuming, but interesting and you get to choose the topic you focus on all semester. It was interesting. Final presentation in front of class at end of semester. I was nervous, but he was very nice and encouraging!
He's very outspoken and funny guy and certain times behind grading. Working on social issue project the whole semester weekly assignments related to your social issue. Since he's a 80s kid he talk about how the 80s and 90s make him cool and I would highly recommended to chose him SOC241 class because he will tell the class his stories and a legend!
Really funny and even though attendance isn't mandatory I definitely regret not going because I most definitely would've gotten a B if I did go regularly. Don't blow off this class!
Easy A. Attendance only became mandatory since fewer people started coming to class.
Prof. Bjorklund is one of those professors whose motto is "how do you do, fellow kids?" In my opinion, he's hilarious, which is especially important because the intersection between tech and society involves social media and internet humor. However, if this is something that bothers you, I wouldn't recommend. He's a great guy and the class is easy.
Professor Bjorklund is honestly a great professor. Lectures and really engaging and his dry sense of humor is hilarious. Some of his quiz questions are poorly worded, but he's super accessible outside of class and the course is a breeze if you show up and do the readings. Would definitely take again!
Professor Bjorklund is an amazing professor, his lectures were very interesting and interactive and his sense of humor always made me laugh. He has clear grading criteria, and offers optional extra credit near the end of the semester. As long as you show up to class, and do the reading, this class is great!
Online Class. There is only yellow-dig , quiz, conceptual check-in and film analysis. Quiz is from learning materials no book required. Conceptual check-in 12/15 , film analysis 15/20, quiz 100%, discuss 100% and received 'B'. Overall, the course was easy and good feedback but I do not like a grading criteria. Tough grader.
A professor that is definitely on the goofier side. Quizzes are based on readings; this is the hardest part of the class and it's not the worst thing in the world. Yellowdig, writings, and projects are simple, easy, and fun ways to express opinions while also learning and gaining points.
He always cancel class for no reason and it waste your Financial Aid and he thinks he need a day off canceling the class which is a joke! His lectures are okay but a little confusing when he talks fast but he have access the PowerPoints on Canvas which is good! Some students want to go his class what they want like he wants. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!
This class is a cakewalk. The Course Policies quiz at the start of the semester was 10% of the final grade. Yellowdig discussions worth 40% and are just participation based. Quizzes are pretty easy and the one exam I've done wasn't that hard, and I hardly study. There are random I-clickers basically for attendance. Haven't struggled at all. Easy A.
Professor Bjorklund seemed like a really cool guy who cared about hearing what people had to say during his lectures, often we wouldn't get to finish the slides and run out of time because he spent so much time listening to what the students had to say about the topic. I also thought his lectures were funny and very laid back.
The professor is very entertaining and makes the content interesting for those who couldn't care less about the subject past getting an A in it.
Easy professor, not a class you have to worry about. I had him for SOC 101 and he was actually really fun. Class is a little boring if you aren't into sociology, but all tests and quizzes are done online. Definitely recommend this professor for this class.
Probably the best professor I have ever had. Funny lectures with hilarious examples (Key and peele SNL etc). There was never any homework besides a 10 question multiple choice quiz taken online at home. Weekly discussion questions dues friday at 11 but you can just write whatever and you will get points. 2 total exams both online and on canvas
Eric is really chill. His class was entertaining and was always willing to help if you had any questions. His tests are all open note and book. He enjoys hearing your opinions about the subject matter in class too! Just make sure to do your yellowdig and quizzes and you'll do fine. He also does random clickers throughout the year.
For SOC101 being a class with 400+ people in it, Eric made the lectures so fun and engaging. He has that dry millenial humor that makes going to class fun. The one thing I'll say is make sure that you go over the material in the textbook because the quizzes are typically 50%+ from the textbook (things he doesn't go over in class).
Bjorklund is very chill, lectures are chill and tests/quizzes/homework are pretty easy. While unfortunately he does iClicker sometimes, this class is easy to skip and you don't always need to attend lecture and if I did I was usually on my phone but still retained info.
Second class with Prof. B, amazing as always, easy and concise. Minimal use of Iclickers, Yellowdig, few quizzes, conceptual check in (not hard, based on readings) film analysis and a group project at the end of the semester. (not as bad as you think) Clear syllabus, fun, and engaging during lectures. No text, just provided readings.
Awesome professor. Engaging and funny lectures. Quiz & exam questions can be tricky and contain info from both the lecture AND book so make sure to read it. Only other work is a weekly Yellowdig + iClicker for attendance sometimes (also! he has the easiest Yellowdig requirements for SOC101). Offers up to 5% extra credit at the end of the semester.
Very funny and easy teacher. However, do not get too lazy since he does not discuss a lot of the material on the exam during the lecture. Read the textbook and have the class slides open in another tab for the exams. Exams are open note.
best professor ever ! he made me want to minor in sociology (i did) there was 1 weekly quiz, 1 midterm, and 1 final. he also did iclickers that were location based during class. his classes are long, but he does make them interesting. if you want an easy A, take SOC 101 with Bjorklund !
Super funny and honest guy, he connected alot of what we learned to his own life so that was cool. Attendance is mandatory because he does surprise knowledge checks on ICLICKER. Quizzes everyweek but they are open note, exams are all open note too. He offers extra credit at the end of the semester that is 10% of your final grade. Take him!
Took his class a year ago and he's so funny and loud. He always talk about his childhood stories and many students like listening his stories anytime and since he's a 80s kid. No quizzes and working on the social issue in the whole semester and present the whole class and he understand other students social Anxiety. Take his class for a credit.
One of the best professors I had, a funny guy with good lectures and willing to help students in any way he can. Yellowdig is worth about half your grade so as long as you do that you will get an A. All exams and quizzes are open note and online so it is very lax and easy. He will also give extra credit at the end of the year to help you get an A.
i really liked the professor and class - he's cool and gives interesting lectures and the work is interactive and interesting. exams and quizzes are fair.
He's a great professor who gives really interesting lectures and shares some stories about his personal life to help better explain the material. There are 2 tests throughout the whole semester, he does reviews the week before. His was my favorite class this semester. I want to take one of his classes again
Professor Bjorklund is a really chill guy and overall, the class is fairly simple. There are weekly readings, a quiz, and Yellowdig, but there are very few assignments in the class, which is nice, but be aware it can easily tank your grade. The final is a group presentation, so choose your group members wisely.
This professor and this class were awesome. Prof. B was super kind, gave heavy extra credit points, and made the class super fun and simple. Didn't buy the textbook and I'm gonna end with an A+. He does IClicker randomly but its not the biggest points and he drops two. Otherwise, work is all yellowdig and quizzes. Tests are online and easy
Would take Prof Bjorklund again 100%. Always wanted to show up to this class!
Really great professor, his lectures are super straightforward and you only have 2 exams in the class. He covers almost all material from the textbook, and he lets you know what you should study extra for on the quizzes. Would definitely take his class again!
SOC 334 with Prof Bjorklund was crazy easy but also surprisingly interesting. I tend to prefer online classes, but honestly wish I could have taken this one in person because I feel like the discussions would have been really good. Didn't really interact with the prof much, but he seemed like a chill guy.
Professor Bjorklund seems super chill. Though this was a 300 level course, it was one of the easiest classes I've taken. The material was actually interesting and I wish I had been able to take it in person because I feel like his class would have been fun and have had good discussions.
This class is really easy if you do what you are assigned. I recommend taking it.
Professor Bjorklund has really interesting lectures and provides good examples. Yellowdig is a decent chunk of your grade and is kind of annoying but its not very hard and helps you understand topics better. Quizzes and test are clear to when they will be and are online take-home and not to hard. Uses I clicker but lectures are engaging.
Very chill guy, for extra credit you can either create 10 memes relating to SOC or go to a restaurant of a different culture and write a report. Yellowdig is around 40% of your grade but it's not difficult, just a bit annoying and there are timed quizzes that are based on the lectures. Overall great prof for SOC101!
Fairly easy class. The Yellowdig was annoying, so just make sure to be on time with it and don't fall behind, or else you will be struggling to catch up. I managed to accidentally miss a quiz, but if you do the extra credit, it really boosts your grade. I cannot emphasize this enough.
this class is so easy and if you pay attention its pretty interesting. genuinely if you fail this class it is your fault
His lectures are pretty cool, he makes sure to ask questions to the students and add a little about his life. He makes it a bit personal in a good way to be able to connect with us.
no need to buy the textbook its a waste of 100$. weekly yellowdig homework, lectures are hilarious, extra credit at the end of the sem. quizzes biweekly that are open note, 2 exams total also open note. he uses iclicker for attendance about once a week so you can skip but its kinda a gamble. gives you 2 skips and cancels class a couple times!!
Highlight of my semester. Lectures are as interesting as you make them, with professor often leaving room for student conversation while he presents. Grading is lenient, with no final exam, but two major projects (film analysis paper and group presentation). Super easy class, but if you need an elective, I would take it for his personality alone.
Professor B is a fun and engaging lecturer who makes the material interesting. While attendance is mandatory, the workload is reasonable with just a few exams and quizzes. I found Unstuckstudy really helpful for class prep and review. Definitely would recommend this class!
Good lectures and funny guy.
He was a very funny and engaging professor with an easy class with little amounts of homework and open note tests and quizzes. I would encourage everyone to take him.
Good teacher. Funny. Either attend lectures or read the textbook. Don't forget about Yellowdig. Engaging lectures.
Very eye-opening class, he really makes you think about yourself. Homework solely consisted of 7 quizzes and 2 non-cumulative exams. I would 100% recommend!
Really fun and knowledgeable professor! There are no exams which I enjoyed but there is a final group project + presentation that's required.
Professor Bjorklund creates such a fun atmosphere in class, we all know large lecture classes can get dull sometimes but with all the encouraged class discussion I never felt like I was going to fall asleep. The course content is honestly pretty interesting. In terms of homework there is quizzes and yellow dig, But overall great class and professor
He's an awesome professor, if you have the opportunity to take him, DO SO. His lectures aside from being interesting, they can be funny. There is only 3-4 exams throughout the semesters. Attendance is mandatory. Lastly, by the end of the semester there is an extra credit opportunity. it was super fun.
This class was very easy, and I highly recommend it. Dr. B makes his lectures very engaging and keeps you involved in class by providing personal examples from his life and applying them to the current sociological principles of that week. Also, tons of extra credit, and if you're in Barrett, he offers an honors contract. Highly recommend!
Super chill guy. He has a no retake policy on literally everything which kinda sucks. Everything is done at home. He does Iclicker though so you have to show up to class.
Pretty easy class. You just have to make sure you show up to class, and never miss a due date. There are 12 random iClicker polls (worth 10% of your grade) ran throughout the semester, so going to class is a must. If you miss a due date the assignment closes, and he will not open it back up. The overall class is easy, you just have to participate.
MY GOAATTTTTTT!!! HE'S AWESOME AND HILARIOUS. super easy class. he makes the concepts easy to understand, and he doesn't grade tough at all. It's mainly quizzes and just the two exams (midterm and final).
FREE A, just pay a little attention and you'll easily pass
He was a very nice teacher and very funny too. Lectures were interesting as well as funny. There were quizzes every other week but they were pretty easy and not lockdown. No lockdown for exams either and only two exams for the entire class. Attendance is somewhat mandatory. He uses iClicker here and there, which gives points when you go.
His lectures are super entertaining, he does iClicker every once in awhile, but those dont affect your grade too much. Exams and quizzes are open note, open book. He's super chill and respectful of your time and overall just a really good person!
He gave lectures with videos, memes, and interesting topics/ideas. He often asked the class for insight on specific topics and LOVES when people participate, but he won't force anyone to participate. He gave extra credit through Clicker. The tests were easy, and you just had to complete a little discussion post every week. W prof
Bjroklund is a real one. He loves to cancel class and just appreciates the vibes. Class is super useful, and he is funny in a cringe kind of way. He is for sure one of the GOATS at ASU and if you need a easy A and to learn something you should take his class.
Amazing professor, take him if you can. Very easy class, and I barely went to class. Uses iClicker for attendance, but I barely went and still didn't affect my grade badly. The lectures are boring, but you don't even have to go to them. All exams are online and not proctored; you can also use your notes. (Just chatgbt everything.) Chill/funny guy
Professor Eric Bjorklund is one of the best professors I have had! He is kind, respectful, and laidback. This class was absurdly easy. No writing assignments or live lessons, and the quizzes were open book. He responded respectfully and professionally to my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend him as a professor.
