Eric is a knowledgeable and cool professor. He uses powerpoint which is a plus. He also posts the powerpoints on webct so that you have them to study from. We also had weekly quizzes on webct, which is a drag but it really helps you keep up with the readings. He is also good eye candy :-)

He is there to teach you what he knows, not what the system wants you to learn. A true univeristy professor, not a high school one. His classes are "life-related" issues, but unfortunately he has to make his tests according to what the system tells professors to say. Highly recomended!

Excellent teacher. May give essay exams but as long as your there for the review you'll be straight. He makes you learn!

Very knowledgable in his subject area. Had weekly quizzes on webCT, but I found those helpful because some of the questions were on the actual exam. It doesn't hurt that he's nice to look at either.

This guy is very professional and serious about the class but make no mistake: He will actually be very cool about understanding adult issues and considers your overall effort in the class not just some creepy little quiz. If you are considering taking a class with the best of the best young and attractive professors I highly recommend it.

Hybrid class is perfect for this one. He really knows his stuff. Young, hot, and very smart. Weekly online quizzes based on book. Great explanations in class. Tests are on general understanding, and not that bad at all.

The hybrid class is awesome, weekly quizzes keep you up to date and then there are 3 exams which are not bad...very nice guy, young, and will help you if you email him..would def take a class with him again

I enjoyed the class because he is very passionate about the subject (he's not boring) but beside that he makes you take quizzes for each chapter (might I add not easy) and he does not give out a review sheet for test and they are long..

This is the best professor I've taken at any school. Very passionate about his work and push to make you succeed in his class. Know what he's talking about. Work load seemed a bit much at first but working in groups on them definately helps. Take this professor. Promise you will not be disappointed.

This professor really loves what he does. You can tell by his lectures.I took the hybrid class.It quizzes every other week.Its not the easiest class but if you study just a bit you can pass. Using the study guide and the practice tests online really helps.

The biweekly online quizes suck! 3 tests which are not bad, even when I felt I could have studied more. He curves! I got 90's and up on all the tests, average of 80's on online quizes, 1 low online quiz score in the 50's and still got an A. Best part is if you earn an A- he rewards you by bumping you up to an A+. Lots of work but great teacher.

Professor is young and cute :) Doesn't take attendance, but must submit weekly quizzes that are due before class. As long as you look at the study guides on WebCT and read, you should be fine. he makes class semi-fun and relates a lot of issues to "our generation" (i.e. 35 and under club) 3 exams in class, all m/c and based on weekly quizzes.

great professor. Just read the book and do the online quizes. I got an A and went to class only for the tests. 2 test and a noncumulative final. Overall it was all common sense. He is young and very goodlooking.

Good professor, knows his stuff. Has weekly quizess that are CAKE if you read the chapter. I rarely went to class and I got a B, so hes not hard at all, just make sure you read.

Great teacher! Bi-weekly webCT quizzes based right from the book. You MUST read the book. If you do that, you'll do good on quizes and tests. There are 3 tests, webCT quizes for every chapter, 1 3-page case study, and 1 in-class presentation. I took him for MAN3151 too. Highly reccomend him. His classes aren't that hard.

Online quizzes are verbatim from the text. But they are insufficiently timed, so prepare in advance. Essay exams are excessively long, try to pre-write your essays with the list of topics he'll give you. Have a CONCRETE understanding of the material. Appearance-wise, he's cross between JFK Jr. & Patrick Dempsey... Enjoy ;)

Took this class online and he was extremely fair. You have 7 case studies, as well as a quiz, crossword puzzle, and flash exercise for every chapter. There is also a "team video essay" which is very simple. He gives you plenty of time to complete all the assignments and he is very good about answering e-mails and helping you out when needed.

Great teacher, well he's cocky but he's intelligent. His classes are mostly discussion with online quizzes every week (must read the chapter each week) and three in class tests. The tests are somewhat hard but as long as you relate the material to the class discussions with examples you will do just fine!! He's cute but short and cocky!!

He is a great teacher. He is all about discussion, and like to press your buttons, just to get discussion going. He really knows his stuff, and relates the topics to everyday examples. Tests were essay format, but are pretty simple if you study the notes. Great teacher, intelligent and great to look at.

Great Professor. 1 paper, 3 tests. Essay format, but he gives you the topics before hand....so you have a general idea of the questions on it. Discussions are great, you acutally learn important things!! Highly Recommend!!

He is amazing. I love the participation in class. You discuss the topics in class with him. Really great atmosphere. The will not make it without the book its all in there. Take all quizzes online, test are ok a lil tricky. Take him you'll enjoy it!

Look he is nice and all but gets boring after a while. Lots of quizzes which you will find useful for the tests. Would I take him again, hmmm no because I think that other teachers can do it better. Will be getting an A in this class, but was a little difficult to do so.

His lectures are interesting and he gets pretty annoyed if you don't participate. The quizzes are online and not easy, you have to read the entire chapter. The tests are about 75 questions, and again, not easy. You have to read.

Excellent teacher! Class is so much fun, time flys quickly. A lot of useful info not just related to class. Test are a little hard but if you listen in class and read a book, they are fair. There are online quizes that you have to do, but it makes you read instead of slacking off.

There are weekly quizzes, which are helpful study guides for the exams. Does not make attendance mandatory. Overall, I did not find this to be a difficult class and would recommend taking this course with him.

He is a very nice professor. I would definetively recommend him. He teach good lessons and leave the attendance to your decision. He is very clear on his lectures and also funny sometimes. Very supportive and understanding.

Great class!!! Excellent Instructor. Weekly quizes open since Monday AM so you don't need to wait until friday. Assignments are challenging but you will learn tons of information. Excellent responsiveness from instructor. I would definitely recommend Prof. Cartaya.

Very easy teacher if you read the textbook and do the online modules. He gives 3 essay exams and gives you the review for them- like only 10 topics each test. You answer a bunch on online articles- just your opinion. He's great!

This professor is really passionate. You have three exams and the ?areas to focus? on the day before the exam. Very picky and like assignments being done EXACTLY how he requested. Very helpful but you have annoying online quizzes due before each class so u have to be on point. Also puts a real effort on keeping the material entertaining.

Fall: Great Professor. He knows his stuff. He is very nice. 3 exams. Gave extra credit when attendance was low. Read the chapters. Quizzes where practically the same for the exam. So study them. Highly recommend.:)

My class was a late class and he kept the class alert and alive...which I may add was not easy if you have 180+ students. He enjoyed participation and his tests were from quizzes which had to be taken weekly. I highly recommend him made the class interesting and he knows his stuff. You will definately enjoy it.

He is a really nice guy! He knows his material very well. Gives a lot of extra cr. Like student's participation. I hardly recommended but you need to read a lot the book. First and Second Tests almost similar to the online quizes in Blacboard. The third one came more from the book.

Prof. Cartaya delivers his lectures in clear manner. He interact with student to facilitate the learning process. Project takes time, but it is worth every minute as you can actual use the concept in a real work environment. Don't expect to get a good grade without attending class or reading and understanding the material. Highly recommend him.

Great class and professor. He made the subject matter very interesting and practical. The project was work but I found it fun and useful if you pick a topic you enjoy. He really tries to help his students any way he can and I highly recommend him!

Took him for both MAN 3025 and MAN 4301. In my opinion the book is interesting up to a certain level. But in order to grasp the concepts and really take learning to another level you have to go to class for the discussions. Every class period we discuss the material and compare it with real life scenarios.

Professor had a very interesting way of teaching. I can actually say I left the class with information rather than my other classes. The tests were 10 short answer questions. He looks for out of the box answers, not straight out of the book vocabulary. Going to class is not required but HIGHLY recommended. I highly recommend this professor.

As long as you read the chapter you will be good. Quizzes are more about application rather than definition so you have to understand the material. Easy assignments- quiz due every sunday, 2 discussions, one project, 3 exams. Easy professor definitely recommend him

Professor Cartaya is one amazing professor! He is there for you and is student friendly. He is a tough grader, but its helpful to make an amazing training template. His lectures are freaking amazing! He is quite inspirational during his lectures.

Essay exams, not a bad teacher lectures are good and class gets very involved. Tests really aren't clear to his lectures but study guides are great practice for the test. Know the study guide pass the test.

Three 5 question written exams worth 70% of grade.... Very engaging and interactive lectures, makes class interesting.... Worth taking if you study before exams, would recommend

He is a great professor. I have already taken two classes with him and they have been very manageable. Class consists of 12 quizzes (easy as long as you read/review lecture notes), 1 case study paper (easy), 3 exams with 5 essay questions each. He provides a list of things to study in order to prepare for the exams. Make sure you prepare for them.

He is a really amazing and understanding professor. He knows that we have other things going on in our lives so the workload isn't heavy and his lectures are very inspirational. class was hybrid so it was more often online. there are two major case studies which have the highest weight of the grades so make sure they are done and SUBMITTED on time.

Going to class isn't mandatory, but he is the best lecture professor I've ever had. He's really funny and makes you think about different scenarios. As time goes on less people show up, so it becomes more intimate to speak out. Only two papers and quizzes every week, so definitely a class to consider if you take a heavy load. Would take again!

Professor Cartaya is great! The class consists of 3 essay exams, weekly reading quizzes, a couple of discussion boards and a case study. He reviews by giving you 10 areas to focus on, of which he chooses 6 to test you on. Most material comes from textbook and some from lectures, but be specific when answering questions. Easy if you study!

Currently taking this class online, it's easy as long as you keep up with the assignments. Weekly quizzes and 2 case studies (not difficult), that's it.

Prof Cartaya is the best. I took him twice for Human Resource Management and for Training and Development. I learned a lot with him. Not an easy A, but you will learn and he gives you opportunities to pass the class. His tests are not multiple choice, they are short essay questions which makes you work harder but you will learn more trust me!

Prof. Cartaya's class was easy and to the point. Every week you have a quiz on one chapter with two attempts, and you are given two Case Studies through out the semester which consist of summarizing what you read and answering questions. Simple as that. You need the book. Highly recommend.

If he's available, TAKE HIM. The essay exams are very easy, he gives you a study guide beforehand so you know exactly what's on the exam. It's always material he taught in class. 1 Quiz every week online (answers available online) and 3 Essay Exams (very easy). If you don't get an A, it's because you're too lazy.

Professor Cartaya's class was fairly easy but there was a lot of work to do as an online class. There are several quizzes, 3 exams (Not proctored but needed lockdown browser) and some discussions. He is responsive to emails but sometimes doesn't answer your questions 100%.

Amazing class. Discussion-based & he's really engaging. Weekly quizzes online (PPTs are super helpful), Job Description project (easy), & 3 essay exams which are easy because he tells you what to study beforehand. He inspired me to take on an HR double major. If he is available for lecture, take the class. You won't regret the experience.

Take this professor if you can. The class consists of 3 essay exams, a case study, and weekly quizzes( which you can google). He gives a review for the exam based 10 topics and then selecting 6 which will be on the exam. The exams have 6 questions but you choose 5 to do. I really enjoyed this class and learned alot. Take him!

Professor Cartaya is a great person and teacher! He makes class very entertaining and knows how to create meaningful class discussion. The course is graded based on in-class essay exams (with LockDown Browser), a few online assignments, and a job description project.

The class consist of 15 quizzes and 2 case studies. So a quiz per week. I think he only teaches this course in the Spring but easy A.

Literally 1 online quiz a week, 25 questions, and all answers can be found online. easiest class i've ever taken.

This class consisted of 15 quizzes, 3 written exams on lockdown browser, 2-part project, and 2 discussions. Professor Cartaya is a very tough grader and never gives 100's on assignments no matter how well you demonstrate comprehension on exams. Quizzes are online and easy, project and discussions were easy but the exams are weighted heavy.

The course consists of weekly quizzes (two attempts), three essay exams, two short discussions, and a detailed job description. He provides power points but getting the online book definitely helps as well. Exams are timed and done with LockBrowser. It seems impossible for him to give 100% on the essays but feed back is provided. Grades take long.

I LOVED HIS CLASS. HIS LECTURES ARE AMAZING. I learned so much with this professor, I would take him again. He is a tough grader, but if you work hard for your grade, you will pass.

I am convinced that this is the best professor at FIU. Personally, one of the best teachers I have ever had. He makes you think, challenges you, subliminal teaches you life lessons, his lecture style is open format for anyone to talk as well and challenge a topic. Dr. Cartaya was an incredible professor. The syllabus was clear. He's very communicative and ensures that you understand what's expected. There are weekly multiple choice quizzes but it's on the content he went over in class. There are no surprises. No reason to not get an A. He's very engaging and inspiring.

Cartayas online class is easy but he is very tough grader when it comes to the exams. Exams are done under the lockdown browser and he asks for a very specific answer. The exams are essay exams and there are 3 of them and 15 quizzes . Overall, if you follow the rubric for the exams you are good.

- couple weekly quizzes due on Sunday - Super easy exams, just writing paragraphs about subjects he asks, not proctored, just lockdown. He grades your tests kind of hard just make sure you give a personal opinion about all of the test subjects. Take this course with him!
