Cool guy
He was a really good professor. Kept the class extremely entertained, has lots of background and experience in the field and is an excellent teacher. He also is very open to helping the students gain internships and has lots of connections. Overall, I would take his class any and everyday. STRONGLY recommend him. You will learn SO much.
He made you want to attend his class because it was never a dull moment and he loves to interact with students to make sure that they are picking up on the work as he is teaching it in the class. Get yourself ready for a fun class.
Great professor, gives good real life examples. Has good class discussions that make you think and see all viewpoints. Any criminal justice majors will love this class and professor!!
This is a very informational class that requires critical thinking.
Great professor! Criminology has been my favorite criminal justice class at HCC and he has made it that much more interesting! I would recommend taking any course he teaches. He has good experiences to share and always makes you see multiple viewpoints. He is also always sharing job openings and internships so students can stay informed!
He is an excellent teacher. As long as you show up to class you will pass this class. You will definitely learn something from taking from his course.
He is the best teacher I had all semester. Dont buy the text book because he has all the information online. If you show up and pay attention you will for sure pass this class. I recommend anyone to take it he does a lot of reenactment about situations which was very helpful. He also gets to know you on a personal level he is an awesome teacher.
Would highly recommend- straight shooter- right to the point, Outstanding engaging in class discussions (real life scenarios).Highly engaging . Wish he was teaching Criminal Law
Very good professor, outstanding lectures, not give hard time at all.
He was very helpful with any questions, doesn't answer emails very quickly so it's best to ask in person. As long as you are there for every class you will get an A!
Cool Teacher 55 Level of respect I have for him- 55 Entertaining- 55 I needed this class to pass for the semester and this guys saved my life. I asked the lord to save me and this is who he sent me. This man guided me out of a pit fall and even directed me into a wiser career path. Take his class I promise you that you will not regret it.
I had another class that I had taken this summer and I had to drop it because the teacher was not helpful at all and I was a little afraid to take this class but he was the exact opposite of the other teacher, he was always there to help and clarify if I didn't understand something and was also very lenient because it was a summer class.
Great professor, he gives great life experiences about criminal justice / law enforcement. I wish he would teach other classes within the criminal justice division. Upon completion of the course, you'll learn something about criminology. Participation is huge in class.
His lectures are very good he is the type of professor that makes you think and analyze. He makes you look at things in a 360 way.
I must say I really enjoyed this class. Discussions were very insightful without bias. Professor Clark wants you to make sure you not only learn but also understand Criminology. This was one of my least stressful classes. Make sure you attend class regularly and participate in class discussions/hw. Pay attention because you will get called on! :)
Great professor and good lectures. He's hilarious, which makes the class interesting. Be prepared to speak- he will call on you for class discussions.
By far my favorite professor I have ever had as a college student. Lectures are always interesting and the amount of knowledge he has to share is ridiculous! I'm hoping he will be a full time professor and not just an adjunct because I would most definitely take him for all my criminal classes. As long as you show up to his class, you will pass!
Great professor. You don't need the textbook, lectures are awesome with real life scenarios.
Professor Clark is the best teacher I've ever had. If you give this man the respect he deserves and he'll make his classes well worth it. This man is personal, professional, and understanding. Professor Clark's lectures bring a real life experience to issues and topics and giving a better understanding then the textbooks ever could.
Most Criminology teachers are lawyers, they follow the book a bit too much and expect you to rememeber every little thing. profossor clark really balances out this major. he teaches us more about ethics and real life situations, he makes class fun and he is the funniest teacher i have had. as long as you do the work you will get an A
I really want him to teach next semester
He is a good teacher, that tells you what's what. I found his teaching methods stook with me more than most classes.
I took this as a 3 hour class on Wednesday night fully expecting to drop, but within 5 minutes of class I knew this would be one of the best classes I took at HCC. He's a very knowledgeable professor with real life experience in the field. He makes the material interesting and makes class fly by. I would absolutely recommend regardless of major.
BEST CLASS EVER! Professor Clark is awesome in every way! I wish I had him for all of my criminal justice classes. Highly recommend him!
I loved the real world examples he would give to better understand the coursework. I felt it has prepared me for circumstances I'll encounter in the future and because of Professor Clark, I will know how to handle them. Other words to describe the class: bold and in your face. There was never a dull moment in CRIM102. You'll never sleep in class.
He comes off as being a tough guy but he is actually very caring and helpful. Usually he talks about real life situations rather than lecturing a bunch. Tests were either take home or open notes. Assignments are usually pretty easy and there aren't a bunch. Is very helpful with advice for getting a career in the criminal justice field.
You will never be bored in his class, Professor Clark is extremely witty and passionate about what he does. Awesom class!
Professor Clark helped me see a better future for myself. He understood the students he was teaching and could break the curriculum down in a way that helped us learn even better. He is the best college professor I've ever had
you'll never fall asleep in the class!
He one of the best teacher at hcc. Show up take note because he give you the answer to the take home quiz. He also give extra credit work which is easy. Just show up and do the work
Hes one of the best professors. Very easy class and very interesting. Hes very engaging and encourages a lot of group work and participation. All he gives is take home quizzes which are very simple with use of notes and the book. He also is very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor
Hes a great professor. Always stayed on topic and made the course interesting by integrating real-life examples. Hes very hands on with his students and expands your way of thinking. If he asks you a Yes or No question be prepared to explain Why .... I would definitely take another CRIM course with him again.
Cool Guy. #GoRavens
Hes a great teacher made class enjoyable and helped me really retain the information woth his teaching style
Professor Clark was the best professor I've had so far. His lectures are interactive and he gives stories that help you remember and grasp the concepts which helped retain the information. I will definitely be taking his 102 class, I wouldn't take it with anyone else!
Professor Clark is a great professor and made class really interesting. If you get the chance take his class.
Overall great teacher, very thorough with lectures, made the class fun, interactive, & he relates to the class very well.
Magnificent Professor. Lectures are very hands on and fun. He is very inspirational and engaging. He cares about his students. Best class Ive taken. Definitely taking his other class.
If you are looking for a memorable experience that you walk away with life knowledge then Professor Clark is who you're looking for. He knows how to get his message across without allowing the course to grow stale on his students. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in criminal justice because of Professor Clark's enthusiasm for CJ
Amazing, if you dont show up honestly you will regret it. His lectures are really involved. You wont get bored, trust that. I was already passionate about Criminal Justice , but every week he is just topping it off. He just makes you reevaluate your point of view. Thinking critically and not just the answer point blank. You WILL NOT REGRET !!
The class was every engaging
Great teacher, better person. Peace out professor clark
One of the coolest professors i have had at my time here at HCC. Prof. Clark cares for his students and wants them to maximize their knowledge in the class.
Awesome professor who will listen to whatever you have to say. Very respectful. Answers your guestions respectfully. A real down to Earth person. Homework is easy. Less work for you means less work for me. - Eric Clark.
This course was honestly the best course ever. The professor was super cool and super interesting to sit in front of.
A professor who really cares about what you have to say, as well as won't baby you. Extra credit is a HUGE part of the class and there's no reason anyone should get under a B if they show up to class. This professor has extensive amounts of knowledge in the field, as well as experience. I would most certainly take him again.
The lectures were always very interesting and well explained. As an international student I can say that the content was very understandable and structured. The class was a lot of fun!
Professor Clark is by far, the best professor I have had. His class is always full of life and participation matters, a lot. He has a lot of pop quizzes that earn you extra points in which you may need the text book. He's kind, and patient in explaining his points or views. He teaches based off general knowledge and experience. Good luck!
Super fun and relatable professor. Amazing at teaching his subject.
Very fun and engaging class. Lots of hands on simulations and interesting lectures.
Professor Clark is a great person overall and his class was very engaging and interesting. Great lectures. However, his assignments arent always clear and you dont submit through canvas. When submitting an assignment you send directly to him which was different than all of my other course Ive taken. Would take his class again though for sure.
I absolutely loved Professor Clark, but Im not sure if Id take him again. He is very knowledgeable, relates it to the real world, and makes sure you understand it, but his teaching isnt for everyone. He lost several assignments, a cancelled class a few times (we had online class then), and a few times he forgot to mention/post work for us
Its an easy A since his lectures make everything pretty clear. BUT if you miss class or a few assignments its over! He gives open book tests and extra credit. His lectures are always informative and he makes it interesting. He is very open and allows his class to be a safe zone for anyone thinking outside the norm.
You will have to look at canvas very carefully through this course because sometimes he does not announce work or discussions. He is not very clear with what he says and wants. Pop quizzes for material that you have not been over is not unheard of.
Good class, easy if you listen and do the work. Gives multiple chances to do extra credit; cares about his students, cares about making sure you understand material.
I took this class as an elective because I was interested in learning more about the criminal justice system. With his professional background prior to teaching, he was able to create a fun interactive class! Offers many extra credit opportunities! Pop quizzes, but you go over the course material beforehand! Nothing is unexpected
hes an excellent teacher, really made my experience of the class way better.
So funny, easy to follow
Would have given him a zero if I could. He is a nice guy but a horrible professor. He never graded half of the assignments he gave out. He didnt follow his syllabus at all. He originally told my class we wouldnt have a final and then threw one at us at last minute.
Prof. Clark is an experienced individual who's dedicated to making sure that his students understand the course material thoroughly. His classes involve a lot of role plays to help you understand certain concepts more, and they usually get a laugh out of everyone. He'll definitely praise you if he sees that you're putting in the effort.
Many people on here rate Mr. Clark highly because he gives out As to all his students by means of ridiculous amounts of extra credit assignments. If you're looking for an easy A, that's fine. But Mr. Clark is a terrible professor. If you are pursuing higher education in CRIM, you will gain nothing from him. He teaches incorrect information.
I have taken Mr. Clark for 3 successful semesters.I have become very knowledgeable about my passion for criminal justice from taking his courses. When teaching a course Mr. Clark teaching method is not just from a textbook but from his law enforcement career experiences which allows the students to have real life scenarios from his career.
I Wouldn't recommend this course with Professor Clark. All our assignment were based on reading from the book that you basically had to teach yourself because his lectures were never relevant to the topic. His feed back on assignment were never helpful.
He is one of my favorite professors at HCC, he always helps me when I did not understand something in his course. I have taken a couple of his classes now, and have gotten an A each time. There is not a lot of assignments at all, and lots of extra credit opportunities. The only thing I would say is that his communication is poor, and self taught.
I took this class online. Prof. Clark was ok. He lacks communication skills but gives extra credit for boosting your grade. Assignments were usually unclear and he had a hard time clarifying them. Overall, decent professor.
This is my second year taking one of Dr. Clark's classes and I can honestly say that he's one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. He truly cares about his students and does *everything* he can to make sure they all succeed (like a lot of extra credit). Just follow his directions and I can guarantee that you'll do well in his class.
he was really fun to have this semester! the only thing I struggled with, was that some of his grading criteria were vague or confusing, but other than that he was super helpful, and wanted to see you succeed.
My guy will not let you fail. Just do the work, and there will be so many extra credit opportunities that it is almost impossible to not succeed. I hate class, but this guy made me want to go. Great lectures and he's hilarious
Clark is by far the BEST professor at HCC. Definitely highly recommend him. Only thing I will say is that sometimes I struggle to learn in his class because he makes it so easy.
He is a really nice and fun person! Take his class. It's not very difficult and you have fun in his class!!!
The BEST professor to take if you're into this field. I highly recommend him. His lectures are fun and very informative. Come ready to learn you will have fun.
100/10 recommend Dr.Clark. He is literally the greatest CRIM professor you could ever ask or wish for. His teaching method is NOT just shoving your head in a book and giving you tests and quizzes. His lectures are fun and there's always a place for group conversation. If you listen and participate you'll have no problem getting a good grade.
Best professor ever. His lectures are always a mix of seriousness, comical, and inspirational. There was never a time where I felt bored in his class, he also comes with the right energy. So grateful for him.
Professor Clark is an awesome instructor. I highly recommend his classes. He is very knowledgeable in criminal justice and an extremely nice person. Go to class every day and you'll be good.
Professor Clark was my favorite professor of all time. He is very knowledgeable and an extremely nice person. It's super important you attend every class and you'll be good. I recommend Dr. Clark!!!!
I take Clark every semester and I love him more each time. Always caring and so willing to help. Please take him you wont be disappointed!!!!
I would not reccomend taking this class to anyone. Dr.clark is nice but his lectures are not relevant to anything. He tends to go off topic most of the time. He has very one sided opinions and his tests half of the time made no sense. Do not take this class. The other professor Del Rosario is way better.
Completely messed up the midterm and final for the class. He never actually taught any material from the textbook. He has a high rating here because he doesn't actually give any work, but if you care about learning about the criminal justice system, do not take Dr. Clark!
did not answer an email once over the course of the ENTIRE SEMESTER. told me to fix my grade and proceeded to lock every assignment so they were unfixable
Do not take this class. Simply put. I would not reccommend anyone take this class if you seriously care about your grade or criminal justice. I emailed him on the 2nd class and still, with finals being in 3 days, has yet to answer a single answer. the parameters for his final assignment are literally incompatible with what he wants. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Absolutely, without a doubt, the worst professor I've ever had in my entire 4 year college career. Wanted everything done his way, he wasn't open in the slightest to anyone else's viewpoints or opinions. He should be picking up litter from the side of the road, and stay away from taking part in the education of others. He is nothing but a POS!
I took Dr. Clarks CRIM-102 class my fall 2023 semester and throughly enjoyed it. After taking this class I feel like I have a new respect and understanding of the criminal justice system, and I look forward to carrying the information I have gained from taking this course into my future career! - Bella A.
Dr. Eric Clark has got to be the most amazing professor I've ever had! his classes are fun, and engaging, nothings too difficult, and he truly cares for each and every one of his students. I would definitely take this class again if it was with Dr. clark! if anyone is thinking of taking a class in criminology, take it with Dr..Clark!
Dr Clark is a really amazing professor, he made the class so fun and lively. He made sure everyone was onboard and was very considerate. If you're thinking of taking any CRIM course, I would recommend taking his classes.
It is my 2nd time having him as a professor, truly one of a kind. Very informative and inspirational. Always had a good time in class. Every lecture I ever received from him was a lesson that would be helping me further into my future. Highly recommend. Thank you for everything!! - J.R
Dr. Clark gives creative assignments that require both critical and novel thinking to complete. I have taken three of Dr. Clark's classes now, and they have been some of my absolute favorites at HCC. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone interested in criminal justice, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom.
Dr.Clark was my favorite professor last semester. His lectures were fun, informative, and interesting. Criminal Justice was the class I looked forward to going after my other classes because of the way Dr.Clark would organize days. Besides from being a great instructor he is a safe space. He gives great feedback on ways to succeed in the future.
Dr. Clark is unlike any other professor I have had here at HCC. He partakes in thought-provoking lectures and assignments which require creative thinking. Attendance is key to success. I would take another class with him!
Mr. Clark is such a treat to have as a teacher! One of the best teachers I have ever had. Even if you aren't interested in criminal justice. He is so hilarious, relatable, and informative. He brings a realistic approach to how he teaches. As an introvert his classes are so fun and engaging you will want to participate! A safe space teacher.
Wastes time on ridiculous hypothetical scenarios trying to prove a point but never gets around to it. Never mentioned the textbook once in class. Took FIVE WEEKS to get to the UNIT ONE PowerPoint, then skims through way too quick so you have to teach yourself outside of class anyways. Del Rosario is an angel and miles better than him.
Doesn't respond to emails. Quizzes have nothing to do with the actual content of the course. If you fail to notice a typo you lose points for the question, rather than if you actually answer true or false. He doesn't teach from the slide presentation, doesn't use a textbook, just makes us watch bodycam videos and discuss pointless hypotheticals.
Greatest Professor I've ever had. Super fun class and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. The discussions are very deep and sometimes he shows his sons professional mma fights, movies or cool personal stories. He's extremely caring and kind towards all his students. Please take him.
Show up, take good notes, and pay attention. Mr. Clark is awesome, really funny, and cares about his students. His lectures are deep and realistic, he adds humor into them and engages everybody. I loved his teaching approach and will miss this class! He's a real one!
Left every class learning something new
Professor Clark from day one claimed to hold opinions that danced between the lines of liberal and extremely conservative. He blatantly made racist remarks and doesn't seem to actually get to the point with his lectures. He then has "assessments" in which he essentially gives you a pop quiz on material completely unrelated from his lectures.
Good lord. If your interested in the subject stay away. Rambles on and on, uses students in uncomfortable scenarios, pointless hypotheticals. Did not learn a thing. Assignments have nothing to do with the material and are so confusing that they become difficult. Take Del Rosario PLEASE.
Do yourself a favor by not taking him and saving your money. You will not learn anything at all. Chill professor but definitely not worth it. Take Rosario instead, she's hilarious and caring about her students
Professor Clark was an amazing professor who helped guide me into the right path.
He's funny and seems like a decent guy, but he sucks as a professor. He doesn't teach, rambles on about hypotheticals. All we do is watch police bodycam videos of people getting shot and killed, with no trigger warning. He gives random pop quizzes, his assignments have nothing to do with what he talks about. Seriously, a colossal waste of time
Honestly one of the best professor's I've ever had.
Much of the class time was discussing hypothetical scenarios. The professor would give us a situation, and we each would give our input on the best course of action. This type of lecturing helped the other students and I understand the material better.
