Really enjoyed the class. The class itself was pretty difficult because there is SO much to memorize and the midterms are all open ended and he is particular about wording. The stats is not too difficult and the quizzes on those are open note. Make sure to go to class or you will fall behind and go to his review sessions!

The class is only graded on 3 stats quizzes and 3 exams + the final exam. So if you don't do good on one its hard to make up those points. Everything on the quizzes/exams he spells out directly word for word in lecture, but also counts it wrong if you don't memorize these concepts word for word. Funny professor & SUPER knowledgable.

Prof. Cooper is one of the best Psych 101 professors. He keeps the class interesting, though you might fall asleep at times. He gives two 30 sec breaks during class which help you get back on track. 10/10 would recommend!

Unfortunately this class is a lot of formulas and definitions. Very little discussion. Office hours make a difference. He really is a nice guy, but he will give you a hard time if you're not focused during office hours. Attendance isn't graded but everything on the exam comes from class not a textbook.

Graduated in 17, but I still think about this captivating and inspiring professor and I wish I could still learn from him. Took as many classes as I could of his, Evolutionary Psych was my favorite class Ive probably ever taken in my life. I still whip out my notes and try to give people the insight I was given. Truly remarkable. -Tess A :)

If you're willing to put the work in, you'll easily get a good grade. Three exams and three quizzes make up your grade. All exams are short answer, but Cooper gives you a review sheet at the start of each section. If you know the stuff on the sheet, you'll have no problem acing the exams (Flashcards are best for this). One of my favorite profs.

Dr. Cooper is one of my favorite professors. He makes the material and tests very clear. He expects a lot to be memorized and understood but still manages to make class fun. I first had him for PSYCH 312 then 301. In psych 312, he often had activities to have us demonstrate and experience the topics firsthand.

Honestly the best course I've taken at ISU, likely the last time it will be offered before Professor Cooper retires and I feel sorry for people that weren't able to take it while he is teaching it.

This class was only exams, nothing else. The exams are written, and if you don't memorize things close to how he wants them memorized, you may get points off. You can't skip class unless you have someone to take notes for you, as he doesn't post notes online. While a hard class, I've learned more than I have in any class I've taken.

This professor is very funny and has a clear passion for Psychology. I always joke that each sentence he says sounds like it's coming from a motivational speaker. Grades are entirely based on tests and the notes from lectures aren't posted after. Study guides are long but memorize them and you will do fine on exams.

One of the greatest professors at ISU, legitimately funny, cares about his work, and his lectures are very interesting and not lecture-heavy. I didn't show up for class after the first 3 weeks though, because I just went to the PSYCH SI, and still got an A on every exam. Just remember to study a little bit and you'll get an A with no problem.

Psych101 changes their professors several times through the semester. Cooper has by far been my favorite. He makes class fun and I've always wanted to go to his class. He makes difficult concepts so easy to understand and although it is a large lecture hall, he always opens up for questions and discussions.
