I advise u not to take his class!! Very unorganized. When he told his class that there was a test, everybody was confused because he have not taught us ANYTHING so how was that possible? I dropped his class because if I'm not learning anything in chemistry 1, then i am going to struggle in my next science class which would put me behind.
Dr. C is cool guy real nice teacher always happy and cheerful. He's an avg teacher due to the fact that most Orgo teachers aren't good. He takes examples right out the text book for the tests,so doing the examples in the chapters are a must. He cares little about Lab reports their 2 pages max. For the reactions in the chapters make flash cards.
Great theacher, i took him for organic I and am taking him now for organic chem II. full of office hours. the material is difficult but he tries his hardest to make it easy
Awesome professor. Very funny. Tries his hardest to cater to his students requests. You just have to put in the time in learning the material. What do you expect, it's chemistry.
incredibly smart and nice but has no idea how to teach the entire class was confused and we all failed the first exam he expected us to know way more than we did coming into the class i finished nursing school with a very high B average so I am no slacker but I was so lost and I went to see him after class and he confused me more DO NOT TAKE HIM
The Nursing student that posted beneath me was a drama queen idiot. The rest of the class made fun of her when she wasn't there(which was most of the time)and it is scary that she is an RN. Your grade reflects the effort you put into the class. I took two other sciences classes, and one math and still passed with an A. Professor Crumpler is great.
I think Prof. Crumpler is great. The subject is EXTREMELY HARD. Especially Organic II. But he tries very hard to help and he is available for a lot of office hours. He teaches right out of the book and sometimes he makes you lost. But I really think it's the subject, he is OK. He says he Doesn't curve, but alot of people didn't expect A and got it.
I liked him very much as a person, but as far as the way the class was taught, I was lost...not everyone is straight out of high school and/or has a background in the physical sciences and I felt the delivery was not as thorough or clear as it should have been. I had to drop to preserve my GPA which is 4.0 at this school.
This professor is AMAZING! He's extremely helpful and tries his best to make a hard subject easy. A little unorganized sometimes, however he tries to make everyone understand the material. I would definately take him again.
Interesting that my prior comment about this prof. got deleted. I thought this was a forum for HONEST feedback. I liked him as a person, but I felt his teaching style was unorganized and not suited for an intro Chem class. I dropped because I was not learning anything through his teaching methods and I wanted to retain my 4.0 avg., which I did, BTW
Fun professor; He tries his best to teach you everything you need to know about the subject. Use his office hours because that helps you understand what you did not understand in class. The material is hard but he is the best organic chemistry professor to learn it with.
Professor Crumpler is a very nice guy and he good in what he teaches about but I think he better suited to teach graduate students instead of students at a community college. His testes are very hard and I study almost everyday for his class. Right now all i do is study and i think I'll will not pass.
He is the BEST !!! The subject is HARD but he is very understanding and will help you. Tell me a teacher that will give you his cell phone number and will answer you..People worry to much about a 4.00 GPA not about learning the subject ...and guess what you need to KNOW the material if you going to be a good student in graduate school.
Professor Crumpler is a great teacher! Super dedicated to his job and students, because chemistry is his passion. He is willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you not only get a good grade, but learn the subject well enough. Exams are a lil long. I would say it's challenging, but not super hard. Definitely recommend him!
Great professor with great sense of humor. Take him !!!
Unorganized. Tries to make up for this with tons of office hours and his friendly bearing. Makes the test deliberately tricky not just representative of the material. He knows everyone will do badly. Test preps are worthless because he purposely leaves things out. Has favorites. Does not belong where he is.
The class is definitely tough but I'm taking the MCAT right after and I have to say, I feel so well prepared thanks to professor crumpler. The class isn't easy but it's definitely passable if you show some interest and put in the time and effort. Fun professor. I'd definitely take him again
Very Helpful - He wants all of his students to do well - provides study sessions during the weekends before every exam. Allows note cards during each exam to help with reactions and mechanisms. Can drop one of the exams. Runs an excellent lab, experiments are educational. Very smart, best orgo professor at Valencia.
Nice guy, poor teaching methods & biased to faves for final grades. Ironically, lack of orgnztn forces concepts to be self taught. Agree w/ prior comment that prof tries 2 makeup what is lacking in class w/ higher than avg avail w/ wknd social hrs that waste time. Though prof. didn't prepare me well for MCAT, I prepared myself.
Dr. C is wants all his students to do well. He lets you use note cards for exams, labs are fun and interesting, study sessions on the weekend before a test. lowest exam dropped. Exams are difficult but not impossible. One of the nicest people you'll every meet. He gives out his number so you can text him to ask questions. TAKE HIM!! =)
The professor is nice, has a lot of office hours and cares about students doing well in class. But the class overall is hard, so you have to time and effort to able to pass it. The class goes fast, and there's not a lot of teaching methods use to help you learn, just the powerpoint lectures and study sessions.
I took another professor for Organic I and was totally unprepared for the intensity of Dr. Crumpler's Organic II. Unfortunately, notes come straight out of the book's powerpoints, but there's lots of office hours to make up for the notes. Tests are near impossible to pass, but there's a huge curve at the end of the semester!
Dr. Crumpler is one of the best professors I have ever taken. This course is ridiculous (content and difficulty) but he truly does his best to make everyone undertstand the material. I worked VERY VERY hard but got an A.
Professor Crumper is awesome. He is undoubtedly the most challenging instructor I have ever had, but he was always ready to help. Be prepared to study your butt off only to do incredibly bad on tests. His tests are not easy; he pushes you to do your best. He is an incredibly nice guy, so go to his office and show that you care about the coursework.
I took him for orgo 1 & 2 best professor you will ever take. Prepared me for my mcat not the easiest but if you want to actually learn he's great. I took him while back he still helps me i send him a questio he answers best professor ever test are hard but not nothing a UCF teacher wouldn't use. TAKE HIM you wont be sorry!!
I have never gotten a grade below an A before. I was close in this class... Very clear, helpful, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable, BUT tests are difficult. He forces you to be self taught and you absolutely have to read the book and show up to get a good grade. Doesn't give homework, entire grade based on 5 exams, and labs. Your GPA might drop! But good
Orgo1 is a tough course! Know your gen chem material, as it really does help with his course. Crumpler passes out his personal number for texting. We had study group EVERY weekend, not just test weekends. He answers texts in about 40 mins. Only send one text at a time, as he'll only answer the most recent. Great teacher, just be prepared to study!!
Dr. Crump is the best Chem professor to take at Valencia. Funny, outgoing, great personality and a science nerd. Four exams, each 20% of your grade but one will be dropped, final is 25% of your grade, & extra credit/HW. Most importantly, you can use note cards on exams. It is definitely possible to pass but u have to study really hard. Got an A!
Best college teacher i have every had. His class is hard and you have to work for an A, but you will learn organic chemistry. He I always available to answer questions because he gives you his personal cell phone and is very quick about responding to texts, and is almost always in his office as long as he is not teaching.
This class is hard but if you study you will receive a good grade. The professor is almost always available. He has lots of office hours or you can reach him by phone. I didn't like the class at first but after you get used to his personality he grows on you.
Dr. Crumpler is a great professor. He is always accessible and knows a lot about Chemisty. Definately take him if you want to learn the material. His exams are pretty challenging, but if you put the time and effort you will make A.
Dr.Crumpler is probably the best teacher to take for chem at Valencia. His tests are fair and exactly like the reviews he gives. I didn't even study for the first 2 test and I got A's in them because his reviews prepared me. The class is pretty easy as long as you put decent effort and if you're already good at chemistry you'll most likely get an A
Org I was really hard class. Prof tries his best to explain the material, but his exams are very hard. No multiple choice! Be prepare to study everything. He allows to have index cards, that is nice of him, but because of that his exams are so difficult. 6 or 7 people failed the class even with his curve. This is hard class, but you will learn!
test are very difficult, must put alot of time & effort into class & professor provides study session attend every study session, professor is a nice person, but very unorganized, allows index cards during test, the textbook may not be as useful problems on the test are 10 times harder, attend every study session to better prepare for tests
He gives no extra credit. Tough homework isn't graded. The only assessments besides the final are 4 tests, which are very tricky. Gives easy examples in class and throws tough material into the tests, then gets mad when students fail. But he has study sessions and is often around to help. Take full advantage of that if you want any hope in passing.
His test are extremely hard, and its not because he wants to prepare you for medical school because they are other good organic chem professors that prepare you for the mcat and are not as difficult as him. The reason why he makes his test so difficult is because he is so miserable with his life that he takes out his frustrations on his students.
The best professor ever. So easy. So fun. Clear expectations. The class is the most interesting class I've ever taken. Passed with an A easily.
If you try, there is no reason not to get an A. Giant curve at the end of the semester. You definitely learn organic no doubt.
Great, wonderful, nice professor. Knows his science off the top of his mind.
I took him from chem 1 all the way to orgo 1 so far. Best professor ever! Will take for orgo 2 next semester. There is 1 take home that is SUPER easy and an easy 100%. Beware, sometimes he doesn't give 10 extra credit points for each test. But most of the time, he gives bonuses.
You know what this is the first time i take Him. I have to say he's amazing professor. His tests are easy you can basically skip one test without worrying to much about your grade. U will get A at the end anyway. Hes funny and very helpful. I highly recommend taking him if you need chem.
Best prof out there. Take him for orgo 2 it will be a free A. test is easy even if you skip class. All you need to do is go to class and its an easy A.
Do not listen to other comments. Take Dr Eric Crumpler if you want to learn and earn an easy A+. His test is alright (not that hard) you can do well without study.
Oh my god. Easiest teacher out there. I took him for Organic 2 spring 2015 and pass with an A+. I was not even trying. Take him!! no question asked
Cleaver professor. He's funny as hell. You have to take 5 tests during the semester but you can drop one of them. Don't worry his test is super easy. Gigantic curve at the end of the semester. I only went to class once or twice and still get a B+.
Best chem professor out there. Tests are easy.
Show up and pass. I said it. I take him since chem1 until organic2 and guess what i get all A. He give lots of extra credits every test. and most of the questions are common sense so even if you are not good at chemistry. take him!
A lot of study!!. i'm just kidding. easy class. all you need to do is show up. It's almost impossible to make lower than an A. unless you drop the class of course.
He's helpful, funny, easy give a ton of office hours. His test are too easy, but i respect that and i think that's how all of his student who take chem1 continue to take him for chem2 and organic chemistry1 2.
Easy A. Too many extra credit. You will do well even if you skip class. he give bunch of test review and stuffs that help you on the exam. i never study for any of his test.
I'm majoring in art and take his class as elective. OMG!!!!........ best professor ever. He's nice and helpful. I got an B but it's because i skip more than 6 classes. still take Dr Crumpler if you want an easy A
Easy A. Take my advice, go to class and read the book.
He does not hand out As on silver platters but getting one is definitely possible. Best chem professor out of all Valencia campuses, I have taken a different one for intro to chem, chem 1, and chem 2. I will stick with him for orgo 2 next semester.
His test is quite difficult if you skip class. I skipped 6 classes during the semester so it took me almost 2 days to get back on track. Tons of office hours and lots of extra credit. So dont worry even if you do bad on first exam, stick with the class he will bring everyone up to A.
Read carefully! Dont take this class if you expect to get a free A by just going to class. You have to take 3 tests during the semester, but only two count toward your grade. You will get very low grade BUT dont worry after final he will curve everyone to A. I saw a lot of people drop class after first test and come here to rate him 15 easyness :(
Professor is great but his classss are hard!! I'm not sure why the people below think he hands out As that is NOT the case at all for Orgo 1 and 2
do not take him ,,,seriously
He makes the test super hard you can use note cards but that will not save you. Trust me do not take his niceness for weakness
He's not professional
Tough class, get ready to cry! BTW: NOT AN EASY A/B/C
By far and hands down the best professor, I have ever had in 4 years of college/university. His labs are easy but useful and rarely assigns homework. His tests are very difficult but he PREPARES you for them. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO FAIL HIS CLASS. If you put in the work as you should, there is no reason why you should get lower than a B in his class.
Here's the thing. I have taken Dr. Crumpler since Chemistry 1 and I must say that this man's class is not an easy path; it is the right path. If you come ready to work and are willing to put in the time and attend his study sessions, you will succeed. Also, if you are aiming to take the OAT, MCAT, or PCAT, TAKE HIM! Now Orgo Chem next
Professor does a great job at explaining concepts. He does, however, sometimes confuse himself and in turn confuses the class, and doesn't realize so until he makes everyone feel beneath him. Lectures come straight from PowerPoints, tests are quite challenging, he can come off as condescending but he is helpful nonetheless.
This is my first time taking Dr. Crumpler and I enjoyed Orgo 1 with him. I was quite afraid after my first test but I hung in there. YOU MUST DO THE HOMEWORK HE ASSIGNS TO UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. Overall, it was a good experience. Hint: Listen to the students who's taken him before for General Chemistry because they kept me sane!
Professor Crumpler is by far the most amazing and heartfelt teacher I've ever taken, he's sarcastic and hilarious. He truly wants his students to pass. As for class, I'm not a friend of chemistry and boy does this class require A LOT of studying, I did at least 4 hours daily, it was summer after all. If you try your hardest, you'll do fine.
Awesome! Dr. Crumpler's funny & adorable but can be sarcastic at times. Strong advice in order to do well in his class: read the textbook, do the assignments @ the end of each chapter over & over again, GO to his study session. DON'T DROP the class, keep going. Orgo's a had subject but stick with him, he does cares about his students. Great guy!
NOTE: HE DOESN'T CURVE! Now with that said, he is very good, practice homework nd exams are much the same, and familiarizes you with the material given conversions and polyatomic ions become second nature during exams. If you don't practice a lot at least once a week you can fail. He is sarcastic, and helps a lot with many questions you may have.
Hes an excellent and insanely smart professor! He genuinely cares for each of his students and he is constantly cracking jokes in class. He actually made learning organic chemistry fun! He also has several office hours if you need help. Its difficult to NOT do well in his class!
tough professor
In my experience, Dr. Crumpler is rarely able to answer student's questions professionally. About 70% of the time he will mock you and make you feel stupid for asking for help. I honestly stopped reaching out to him after the second test. It's disappointing because he's clearly an intelligent and knowledgeable man, but a terrible professor.
I failed every test except one, a take home test. I somehow passed because he gave A LOT of extra credit. It's hard but doable, I just didn't study correctly. The study sessions helped, he made me felt stupid but I learned from it and felt stupid for even missing those questions. Definitely study ALL old tests and powerpoints! Now onto Orgo 2 rip
Study and do all the practice exams, attend office hours and read the book and youll do well. Very grateful for him, if he sees you trying he wont let you fail. He even helped me when I couldnt make it to class for weeks due to a change. He arranged office hours to catch me up one on one and believe me it was hard but I passed Orgo 1 &2
I took him for Organic II because I had failed Orgo II at UCF twice (F's) and was able to get an A! Definitely the most sassy teacher I have ever had but as long as you put in the effort you will be fine in his class. Valencia OrgoII is connected with the lab and I don't think it is equivalent to taking the UCF organic lab when you transfer it over
I believe that this professor is good for organic, but I don't believe he is the best option for General Chem 2. If you do decide to take him, all of his exams are cumulative meaning you are also being tested on Gen Chem 1 and all of the chapters before Gen Chem 2. The exams are very tricky and they are the majority of the grade so be careful.
Organic chemistry is a hard class, but this professor makes it interesting. Be prepare to read, read, read!! If you skip class, you will fall behind and not understand. Some people think he's a tough professor, but it is because he wants you to take your education seriously. I would definitely take him in Orgo 2!!
Lets u use notecards on exam. Curved grading scale, relaxed lab reports. Really pushes the class to read the textbook. Exams are not impossible like many ppl claim it to be. If you can train urself to do the textbook problems, understand the concepts and actually read the book... you'll do fine. Provides old exams. U will gain better study habits
He is the best Chemestry professor I had. For the first time, chemestry made more sense to me. Sometimes he may look stress out but he has a big really heart. I wish I take him again! Eric, thank you for pushing us, be an amazing person, and a great professor!
Hands down the BEST professor I ever had in my life. He is hilarious!! Also he does his best to make the students fully understand the material. Better than UCF orgo professor. Please take his class you wont regret it.
Crumpler is the best. I absolutely enjoyed coming into his class. Chem is already a tough subject & this class is NOT easy. But Professor Crumpler makes the days go by faster with all his jokes. He truly wants to see his students succeed. He is caring and will help you when you need it. Works off powerpoints (FYI) & gives lots of practice exams.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken! But taking it with Professor Crumpler made it slightly easier. His teaching isn't the best (needs to give more examples). That forced me to look for outside resources. It was insanely crazy, watching tons of youtube videos to teach myself. It was a good learning experience though. Workshop required/wk.
He's the absolute best professor I've had for any science class by far!! Prof Crumpler cares about each and every one of his students and definitely does his best to make sure everyone passes. He goes off his powerpoints (based on the text) and gives out a lot of practice problems. Love him, he makes chemistry so easy.
Dr Crumpler isn't the best at explaining. He gives plenty of examples and practice but his exams are a whole other thing. He'll go over something for 5 minutes and then put it on a test. Have questions? well, better protect your pride because this man will make you feel stupid with his unnecessary commentary.
Dr. Crumpler is a great professor, he makes things very clear cut. He does his best to make sure the students understand what they're doing. The tests can be difficult, but the material is what is expected to be on it.
I have taken this professor for chem 2, orgo 1 and orgo 2. The only thing that I would change would be to have taken him for chem 1 as well. Hes hands down my favorite professor Ive had in my collegiate career. He is by no means an easy professor, but he is a reasonable and fair one.
This Prof is definitely by far one of my most favorite professors at Valencia and UCF. He does a great job teaching Organic Chem I and he makes you work for the grade. I would hands down take another class with him!
Professor Crumpler is super sweet, nice, and caring. He has a huge heart, and wants everyone to do well. He is a nice person
I failed this course at UCF the first time, withdrew the second time same horrible teacher. Third time, I found the most amazing teacher! Professor C is witty, funny, and very knowledgeable! Take him I wish I had met him in my earlier years in college. If you are serious about learning he will genuinely care and wants you to be successful in life!
PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Professor Crumple is very condescending, arrogant, and very rude. He tries to make students feel like they are not smart enough for his class. Sometime in the middle of lectures he goes on tangent about subject not relate to the lecture which could be very confusing. He take pleasure to see his students fail
Everything is online so the people giving Crumpler bad reviews haven't actually had a bad professor. Out of all the ones in the chemistry department, this is the only teacher that cares. You don't know what you have until it's gone. He will almost never fail someone as long as they try. That's something to respect about him, and something to adore
I took Dr. Crumpler back in summer and fall of 2019. The class is made of him doing 50% of the work, teaching you the concepts in a simplistic, sarcastic manner, and the other 50% is the work you put into the class. If you don't read, do the work, and go to class, you will fail. He truly does care, but you need to put in the effort and the work.
Dr. Crumpler is an amazing professor. His expectations are clear and gives plenty of practice problems and what he expects from you for his exams. Participation definitely matters, he gives love points at the end of the semester :) (So participate). Don't be intimated by Dr. Crumpler he is really caring and genuinely wants to see you succeed.
Crumpler was great, he gave examples during class that really helped see what he expected from us and also what we would expect on the exams. At least one of the problems he went over in lecture would be on the exams. He is a little intimidating but as long as you don't ask dumb questions, you should be good.
I wish I can give him a zero. I have no free time. Terrible teacher. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. Besides the workload, he was not a good professor or person. He does not care if you fail or not. He was so bad I had to drop his class, which I have never done before. He gives F's for fun. DO NOT TAKE HIM, YOU WILL REGRET IT, STAY AWAY.
Don't get fooled like me with these reviews. STAY AWAY. You have been warned! This class is unbearable online. professor is unorganized, inconsistent and gives a lot of work in a little time yet takes about a month to grade assignments. Had to withdraw to save my sanity.
This professor was the worst professor ever! He doesn't grade anything until two or three days before the withdraw date. He creates study guides with answer sheets AND DOESN'T ANSWER THEM CORRECTLY and if you use that answer on the test , he marks it wrong. So unorganized, rude, gives tests that have the hardest problems! DONT TAKE HIM!!!
Not sure if it is the online format, but from what I hear from past students nothing has changed. Grading is terrible, this guy is arrogant and condescending. Please save your money and stress on another professor. Ignore old reviews, I am sorry but I do not think he should be teaching anymore.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! I am warning you!!! He is the worst... seriously... save yourself, your GPA, your money, and your time!!!!!!!
Great Professor for organic chemistry. The class is hard but his lectures are great - take advantage of them by watching them live to ask any questions. Wish I could have taken this class in person.
Horrible. Do not take period. One quiz had an insane hard problem. No way to study for it. Smart book takes way too much time. Double work, online and his. Doesn't grad anything. No idea where you are in the class. Doesn't explain the lab. Lecture heavy, but you are still lost. Had to withdrawal. Will take with Tang, he was much better for Chem 2.
Great Professor for organic chemistry! Its a difficult class but the professor explains the concepts very well in his recorded lectures. I will be taking him again for organic chem 2.
This class was a nightmare online!!! Professor Crumpler does not put in any exam grades until the very last day of the semester and you will have no idea how you're doing in the class. He posted all assignments the same week they were due, passive-aggressive communication, and posts most assignments with no explanation on how to complete them.
You will never what your grades are! He is extremely disorganized and his grading is insane when things are graded. this class made me physically ill, being stressed all the time don't do it
Grading is nonsense, like someone else said he would not grade or put exams til the last day. Try talking to him and you will always feel inadequate. Please try a different professor, chemistry is hard enough no one needs then added stress
Dr. Crumpler isn't the best prof. Like everyone here says, you absolutely will NOT know what your grade is until the LAST day grades are due for profs. He didn't even grade 1st and 2nd exams or any labs, just our final and homework was auto graded by canvas. He said that he would grade things earlier but procrastinated. If you take him, beware lol.
This professor is an absolute joke. It makes no sense how hes teaching. Valencia MUST do something about him because this professor WILL NOT grade your assignments. He graded the final exam for my class without grading exams 1 and 2. There were so many assignments that needed to be manually graded and he never did
His first interaction with us was sarcastic and rude when he neglected to provide Zoom link for his students, yet blamed us for not being able to connect. From there, it only went downhill, with disorganization and impossible workload plus condescending teaching mannerisms. I dropped before I even did my first homework, it was that bad. AVOID.
DO NOT take it with him if you have the option. Science is all about problem solving and answering questions. If a professor gets frustrated of questions we have, what else can we do to learn? We are about to take the first exam for Orgo 1 and nothing was graded so far. How do we even know if we've mastered the content and met his expectations?
AVOID. Half way through the semester and nothing is graded. He keeps changing his lecture time and sometimes cancels. gets annoyed when people try to clarify his confusing instructions. There is no way you can make any plans for your life: assignments are posted last min. he says he'd do something by certain date but it was never on time
Dr. C is alright, he'll record the lectures and post them, but the slides are a complete mess and it's hard to know which chapters to study...he's all over the place. He mainly takes forever to grade assignments, and it's frustrating cuz you aren't sure how you're doing. He does offer extra credit though & homework is a good buffer for your grade.
I had a lot of faith in this professor for this course. I was truly disappointed with how degraded I felt by the end of it. I took him online so It may be a different experience in person. I also had to email him multiple times to put in grades and he never put in the grade for my final. I advise you not to take him.
Doesn't update grades, condescending, craves attention, will get attention at ur expense. Frequently yells so its intimidating asking questions. Towards end of the semester spent majority of each class talking about various topics such as working out, his car, dinner reservations, celebrities, fashion, his stocks, etc. Waste of time to go to class.
He SCREAMED at students in the hallway because they were talking. No one noticed them but he yelled at them for making noise because he was lecturing. On this same day he spent most of class telling us about non-orgo chem topics such as Mark Wallberg used to be called Marky Mark & Kanye isn't original. I guess this is who he is so maybe avoid?
Dr. C is a great professor, if you have questions about the material he will find multiple ways to explain the same concept until you understand it. Some say he comes off condescending but I did not personally experience this. He does slack off on posting grades on canvas, but does show us exams in person so we have an idea of what we got. Cool guy
Honestly orgo in general is no walk in the park but the way Dr. Crumpler has the class set up, you learn a lot and it is not difficult to pass the class. My overall exam average was a 61.4% and I still passed with a B. He curves the grades and also allows you to use notecards during the exam, which help because the exams are very difficult.
If you are willing to put in the work and dedication this kind of class deserves you will pass. Dr. Crumpler will push you to be better, but not just make you pass, he will make sure you actually learn, and he is 100% committed to his students. He always has a smile on his face and is ready to repeat things a million times if that is what you need.
He's very friendly and approachable and tries to keep people's attention during the class. The class is homework heavy and much of it is not on his exams. The labs are slower than needed due to his awkward instructions. The best advice for his class is truly to focus on learning the material and not stress so much about "getting the right answer."
Please, please avoid this class. You are wasting your time, he only talking about celebrities, the gym, some car, or something going on in his life. It seriously consisted of at least 60% of the class. Be ready for impossibly long homework and nothing being graded till the very last day of this course. Hard class & teacher makes it much worse.
He was a good professor if you put in the work and ask questions. I was failing the first half and stayed at the end of class and after the exam feedback for help. He helped and I was able to achieve a B- then he curved to B+ You just need to put in the work
he is a very nice person but he is very disorganized, does not respond to emails, and his lectures are very confusing
Terrible professor. Calls out of class randomly. Lectures are a mess with three different textbook powerpoints. Lies about everything in the course. Doesn't submit grades in time so you have to wait weeks after the semester ends. Huge procrastinator. TERRIBLE communication. Doesn't even go by the syllabus. Super fast-paced for no reason.
He is the worst chem professor at ucf will give you the wrong grade and make you have to appeal it. Exams are nothing like material he covers in class
Dr. Crumpler has been one of the best science professors I've had. I took chem 1 over the summer and even though lecture was 3 hours and 45 min he was very clear at explaining everything and would give us 3-4 breaks. Very kind and nice professor who wants you to genuinely succeed in his class, will actually make sure you learn the material.
Professor Crumpler is really nice. He teaches material well and he explains concepts in a way thats easy to understand. 3/4 homework assignments a week + labs so all in all about 6 assignments a week. I have a hard time with chem but he really makes things easier to grasp, and he is absolutely hilarious lol. You wont regret taking him!
I didn't like the way he teaches. His test are insanely difficult.I had to spend my own time every day relearning the chapters from class. His lab practical is difficult to say the least and he takes forever to upload grades. I did not enjoy his sarcasm when I would ask him questions in the lab and his communication is inconsistent. -2/10 professor
This professor's teaching style was frustrating. He read from PDFs without explaining material, left students to figure out complex calculations, and gave 75-question, 2-hour exams. His jokes about students felt humiliating. As an engineering major with a 4.0 GPA, I got a C in his class, lowering my GPA. He's a good person but not a good professor.
The class is homework-heavy, but focus on learning the material rather than just getting the right answers. unstuck study can be helpful for studying. Professor Crumpler tries to keep the class engaging, but some find his teaching style abrasive.
He is an okay professor. He reads from PDF's and does not go through complex problems much, and his exams will skin you. 50 or 75 question on Scantron depending how he feels. Labs were fast just makes sure you KNOW what you are doing because he will pop off if you don't read or set up experiments right. My advice is to STUDY as much as you can.
I didn't enjoy his teaching methods. He reads from pdf's and does ZERO problems in class. The lab manual is awful and isn't detailed at all. I dislike this class and his teaching methods. Dont even get me started on his sarcasm…
He is an alright professor. Teaching methods consist of reading super long PDF of chapters in class and going over slides if a student has a question. He will explain what the slides are talking about. He allows notecards on exams and you can write anything on them. The labs is where he shines, they are extremely fun and engaging and the best part.
You need to study a lot on your own because his teaching methods are ok. We are allowed notecards on exams which is very nice. The labs are very fun and he explains in detail exactly what to do on those. Don't be afraid to ask questions. He does make fun of you sometimes for an obvious question so be prepared for that (only an issue if introvert).
He's an OK professor. He doesn't really teach and utilizes PDF's. We went through the whole semester with Zero homework and he takes forever to post grades. He allows exam corrections for an extra 20% to your exam grade. Labs are pretty nice, just complex and he doesn't give a lot of guidance. He's also a little condescending. Lab practical is easy
Ended up with a C in this class. I feel like he could've done a better job teaching and not just read from the board. The mathematics in chemistry 2 Is really hard and he did not go into any detail about it. I had to use YouTube and ChatGPT to figure it out. His test or insanely hard but at least he lets you do exam corrections for extra points.
I'm gonna start right off and say that Professor Crumpler has a very strange teaching method. He reads from the board and puts very little focus on math mathematics. His grading is very inconsistent and towards the end of the semester, he never even added the grade for our lab practical exam. I would take him again if he improves these things.
This class had so much information and I feel like he didn't really elaborate much and teach concepts. He doesn't know how to do the maths right for chemistry and doesn't really explain to you. He gave us no homework all semester and at the end he didn't even grade my lab practical. One good thing is you can do exam corrections for extra points.
Overall ok experience. He doesn't really teach much. Reads from the powerpoint and doesn't elaborate too much. His exams are 90% maths and he doesn't spend much time explaining it in class. Labs were a pain and the manual is hard to understand. You can take flashcards into all exams but they dont help much in my opinion.
He's a pretty cool professor, but if you know you don't have the drive to learn or practice certain things on your own, I wouldn't recommend taking him. He allows test corrections, which gives you half of your lost points back. Passing is definitely doable if you make good use of his policy that allows you to make as many note cards as needed.
Professor Crumpler is a great professor. Chemistry in general isn't an easy class so don't expect to get an A with "studying the night before exam". He allows unlimited index cards; beware of abusing that or you'll end up lost between your cards and wasting your time. He's amazing, funny and very interactive. I'd take him for chem again for sure.
