He makes you work for your grade but is very in depth and easy to understand. If you study the study guide questions you will recieve a good grade.
Very forgetful. He didn't do his part when I asked for help. He even wrote it down in his planner.
He is really into this subject and uses everyday language and examples to help you understand. I don't like biology but i liked his class and i was able to get a good grade but it's not easy either.
An excellent teacher who is able to bring complex subjects down to simple, understandable level. Can be moody!
Excellent teacher. all the time was well spent. Excellent lab. Superb lecture. couldn't be better
Read material before entering class, very clear syllabus. Ask questions when not clear, Prof. DeAngelo is more than happy to help. Watch out though when he's in a bad mood.
Works very hard to explain concepts using analogies that the students can relate to. If you don't understand, ASK. Very fair.
Worst professor ever
Excellent lecturer with some humor added in! He lays out the steps to succeed in his class. Willing to discuss any relevant topic. Highly recommended!
Key steps: take notes, read bk AND study guide, LISTEN, actually enjoy class. Grade? GREAT. Lovable, funny, easy-to-understand, takes ?s with stride, gr8. Tests are med. long, but thorough. You might learn something ;) A+
Is very interested in having students succeed, and has a brilliant mind.
You need to study, it's not an easy class
I definitely think Deangelo is a good teacher. It's a hard class but manageable if you keep on top of it. I definitely enjoyed his lab. He keeps it interesting. He's funny too.
Great professor. He was clear on all the points and fully prepared the class for all the tests.
He was very clear and a great lecturer. He kept a long summer class pretty interesting. The tests were pretty difficult, even after studying. He's a very understanding person and works well with students. Study VERY hard and always pay attention, especially to the pictures and diagrams. They ALWAYS show up on the test, at least 2 or 3.
Wonderful lecturer. Great sense of humor. Takes dry material and makes it interesting. Even better in lab. Highly recommend
DeAngelo seems willing to do anything to help his students and wants to better their education. He's very fast paced, but make sure everyone knows what's going on. He's one of my favorites thus far..
Started with knowledge we already had before throwing out new terms. Great sense of humor, professional, very helpful. Go to class and study, you will be fine. Take notes, his notes are fantastic! That made the class easier. Great class for visual learners. He's awesome!
Great professor who is nice to look at. Has a great sense of humor and is great at keeping things interesting. Very outdoorsy type. Definitely recommend him.

the fact that he looks lik hugh jackman def helped me focus. very hands on and extremely helpful. gives great demonstrations. also, if you don't make the connections until the end his grading for the final will help you overall.
Mr. DeAngelo is a great instructor with a quirky sense of humor. His tests are hard, but if you study and keep all the study packets he gives out, you'll do well in his test. Don't even read the book, just take notes.
Good teacher. Explains things in simple terms to help us understand. Sylabus is very clear, and helps you know exactly what he wants us to learn. follow with the book to make class easier. tests a are fair, but can be hard. makes class fun and i enjoy going to them.
Classes are a bit boring. The questions from his tests are directly taken out of the study guide, so be sure to buy that. Tests are mega hard and he really explains things different, so when the tests come, minds will go blank. He is late in returning things, and is a crazy teacher. Funny and times, but materials will not make sense.Must study.
Goofy prof. Questions on tests are super vague, he is not a teacher that tests to make sure you understand what he is teaching. He tests you to stump you and make you feel like your brain is in a blender. If you want to play mind-bender then he is your man. If not take this class with an adjunct!
eric...is a total dude and is a very good teacher...but you have to do your part too. meet him half-way and you'll have a great semester. his favorite band is phish!
This class was a bit challenging due to the hard tests he makes. But if you study the "study guide" and notes, you'll do well. I passed with an "A" but you really have to do your part to do well in his classes. He's funny and makes visual learners stay attentive with his goofy performances.
he's very nice and his lectures made the book easier to understand.also, he took most of his questions right from the textbook's review sections. only tough part is the questions where you have to draw stuff like an enzyme or molecules.
Loved his class. His explanations are crystal clear, he teaches for understanding and he goes over things until everyone "gets" it. He is an extremely fair grader and his tests go along with what he teaches. Some test questions are a little bit "off." Minus those, he is fantastic and has a silly sense of humor that makes learning memorable.
An excellent lecturer. My only complaint is the difficulty of exams. Questions are obscure and difficult to answer even when you know the material.
Great teacher, had him for lecture. Explains the material very well and throws in silly jokes to keep your attention. Would gladly take add courses w/him.
Fantastic teacher - goes out of his way to tell silly stories and dramatize chemical reactions, etc., so you'll understand the material. If you study the study guide and end of chapter questions like he says, you'll do fine. Wish he taught A&P next semester... would gladly take it with him.
Best instructor I ever had. His passion for biology and for teaching are an excellent combination. He uses great analogies to help you learn. He totally changed my view of science. If you study what he tells you to, you can't go wrong.
He's cool...but not sexy!!! Come on now he's a dad!!
Great professor, one of the best I have ever had. Takes what could be considered boring and makes it interesting. I can see how some don't like his tests. I got a c on the first one, but after I got see what they were like I was fine for the others. If you do your part you will do well
I TOOK HIM FOR MICROBIOLOGY AND HE WAS GREAT! I LIKE CLASSES IN WHICH I CAN LEARN AND GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT, AND HIS CLASS DEF. DID THAT. HIS LECTURES ARE NOT BORING, INSTEAD HE WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THE POINT.
Awesome teacher. Had him for both bio 105 and 220. The only drawback is now all my other professors fall short of my standards after taking his class. If you need need micro or intro take him. He may be the best professor at LCCC by far.
Brought microbiology to life! Cited many practical real-life examples of why this class is important for any student. He can explain difficult concepts to make them perfectly clear and easy to remember. Very grateful he pronounces words correctly and pays attention to safety and details. One of the best classes I've ever taken!
Funny
Study study study! You better know how to take good notes, you will need them. Very thorough and clearly explaines concepts. You cannot miss any classes or you will fall behind. You will do well if you study like crazy and have no social life. He knows his material and so should you.
He teaches you, expects you to absorb and learn what is given and then tests you over the material given. Some slight of hand trick questions but most questions are thought provoking and all test are over the materials covered. Personable and human endearment are among his qualities as a teacher.
Very smart proffessor, and fun to listen to. He fully explained concepts. For example, made evloution so easy to understand!
he is an awesome professor
Very specific-expects you to know ALL the material. Makes it very interesting. you will work hard in this class, but a good teacher
Great professor. Very smart. You would never want to miss a day because you would feel you're missing out on a fully explained concept in biology. Highly recommended. Puts the love back in science. Also had him for lab. End of semester was bitter sweet.
Had him for the intense 5 week summer course of Microbiology and he was definitely one of the better professors I have had so far. He was very interesting and easy to pay attention to. Kept things really interesting and I really loved lab. He expects you to work hard though and works just as hard teaching you. TAKE HIM!
Had him for Bio 105 & Micro. Great instructor. Can feel his love for science. Full of informaton. Concepts crystal clear. Learning objectives/questions as guide to weed through so much info in book. Lab fun, time passed too quickly. Class rated hottness for a reason. Take him.
He is an amazing professor. Honestly he's my favorite. He does an amazing job at teaching biology. makes everything interesting and makes sure we understand everything before he moves on. I even took him for anatomy the next semester even though I didn't even need it for my major. i learned so much from him. he is a very good looking intelligent ma
Prof. DeAngelo is by far my favorite teacher thus far. He explains things by relating them to objects/processes everyone can understand. He is very approachable and always willing to help. He even prints out "learning objectives" as an outline to follow, and the questions at the end are a perfect review for his exams. Will take him for a&p2.
Mr. DeAngelo is the best teacher I had. He loves his job and makes Biology fun and interesting. I am going to take him for A&P and Micro next!!!
He is one of my favorite professors I have had thus far. He is very approachable and understanding. He made learning about science fun. I had an accident the day before finals, but he worked with me so I could still take my final, for which I'm so thankful. He's a very good teacher.
Deangelo is good to some extent. He explains everything clearly. The only draw back is that he explains too much which leads to not finishing what you need for the entire course. He cuts back on about 5 chapters because he can't get to them because he explains too well. The tests are very hard.
i really enjoyed taking Bio 105 with DeAngelo. His tests were difficult but he had no problem with answering any questions you have. He also tried to make the material as fun as he could, even by cracking some bad jobs. I would highly recommend taking him for bio 105
Professor Deangelo is a great teacher. He has been my professor for BIO 105, A & P II, and Microbiology. He is always willing to help if you have questions, and he makes the subjects fun while giving you clear examples of what he's teaching. I have learned a lot from Professor Deangelo, and would definitely recommend him to anyone.
I had him for A&P I and II (lectures). He is THE TEACHER, friendly, approachable, energetic, with a healthy sense of humor, makes everything possible for students to succeed. There was no lectures that I did not enjoyed. He is the treasure of LCCC. Take him if there any spot left.
Had him for A&PII. Great teacher. Concepts are amazingly clear. He keeps everything extremely interesting. CRAZY HARD TESTS. Unfortunately, he mismanaged our time this semester. We didn't make it to the digestive system or anything after that. Missed a lot. Definitely great lecturer, and I would recommend him if you are and OUTSTANDING test taker.
My favorite teacher in the entire world. Somehow I got lucky, and I was out in his Bio 105 class, before I hated biology, now I'm considering majoring in it. I also had him for micro and I am enrolled for his anatomy class. I don't know how else to explain him except that he is awesome. Don't expect an easy A, but you get out what you put in it.
Very nice teacher, takes notes in class and then sends you them VIA email. Write everything down he says. Tests are HARD. Mostly from questions in the book reviews. Study everyday if you want to pass.
Great teacher made everything easy to understand and he really knew what he was taking about i want him to teach every class i have
He is a great teacher. Makes everything much easier to understand. Keeps class interesting. Way too much info to know for tests. More frequent tests on smaller sections would help.
Explanations of material are very clear. He is very knowledgeable. Tests are crazy hard. Sometimes the questions were unclear. Some were mult choice, some fill-in, some matching, some essays and short answer. You really need to know everything from the learning objectives.
Good Teacher. tests are insanly hard. questions are unclear and way too much information is gone over. Does not simplify anything. Overall good, but goes through way much. never know what the tests will be on. actually had to take out at of information because we ran out of time.
If you want your money's worth, this is your guy. Extremely informative, very intelligent and he expects you to know what any career you're aiming towards would expect you to take with you. That's why some people may say that he's difficult. Very helpful and nice, and really cares about getting the students to fully understand what is being taught.
Took this professor during the summer, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! An amazing teacher. Very detailed and passionate about the subject. He takes the time to make you understand all the concepts. Tests can be tricky, but if you pay attention, there are no surprises. It was a tough course for 5 weeks, but he broke it down and made it easy and simple!
Mr. DeAngelo is easily the best professor I've ever had. Super clear with information, but tests are undoubtedly the hardest I've ever taken. He's super wordy but definitely helps you to remember his lectures. I highly recommend taking him if you want to learn a lot about anatomy.
Excellent professor! Very helpful and really knows what he is talking about. If you study the study guides and reviews at the end of the chapters/book and also your in class notes you'll be fine that's literally where he formulates questions from
Professor is very passionate about the subject. Grades comes strictly from tests and then the lab portion. He is a great teacher you just really need to study and you will have no problem.
Professor DeAngelo is an excellent teacher. he knows his material well. i had him lecture and lab. extremely helpful. test are bit hard. but stick to the learning objective he gives answer all the question you will be fine. if you dont understand ask. he is a great help.
Powerps are not provided, and he talks fast and says a lot, so it's difficult to write what he is saying down and keep up. He gives you learning objectives, but there are a lot of them. The class is interesting, but difficult. His tests are challenging, and he grades very picky - deductions when not perfect. Wording is tricky, too.
Awesome professor!!! Makes learning fun and enjoyable!! Can't wait to have him in another class. Can't speak highly enough about him!!
He is extremely helpful! He gives full outlines of each chapter at the beginning of the semester with practice questions at the end of every chapter. If you utilize his study guide, you should ace his exams because they have the same exact questions on them. He also lets you make up exam grades with the final. TAKE HIM FOR EVERY BIO CLASS POSSIBLE.
Literally my favorite professor ever. His teaching skills are incredible and he makes everything so easy to understand. I never found myself bored in his class. He's also extremely funny, a very fair grader, and very understandable about situations.
Great great TEACHER. The only thing he cares about his actually helping you learn. He explains well and uses different methods to get the material to stick in your mind. Quizzes are online and exams are taken in the class. Exams can be difficult if you do not apply yourself but contain only material from the class.
Had for A&P II. He's a guy who genuinely cares and has a passion for what he does. He gives you a packet of ;earning objectives (all of the objectives will be on the test. Northing more, nothing less). He always explained things a few different ways and usually backtracked in the beginning of each class and gave an overview of the previous class.
Professor D'Angelo is my favorite professor ever! He hands out learning objectives the first day of class, and it has everything in the packet that you will need to learn and no for your tests. He gives fair tests. I had him for biology, and after that I wanted to take his class for everything else I could. Had him for A&P 1 and A&P 2.
Professor Deangelo is the BEST A&P professor you can take at this school! He gives learning objectives that contain everything you need to know to pass his exams. His lectures are energetic and engaging. Exams are fairly easy, but you have to study. Get a bad grade? Fear not, because this professor has a second-chance policy. Highly recommend!
Professor DeAngelo is an amazing person as well as an amazing science professor. I've taken him for Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 lecture and Microbiology lecture and lab. Doing well in his classes was possible because he explains everything so logically and has very clear grading criteria. AWESOME!!!
Took micro over summer. Got an A but needed a lot of study time. Lots of hours studying. He gives learning objective where all test questions come from. If you understand all the objectives and study them you will be good. Answers email in timely manner. Would deff take him again
Professor DeAngelo is a highly energetic professor who truly wants you to succeed in class & lab. He makes learning fun and has the patience for each student, since everyone learns on different levels so you understand what he is teaching. I had him in Intro to Bio spring of 2015 and then I took his 5 week Micro class this summer. He's Awesome!
I didn't use the book once for this class, he gives you a handout with learning objectives that you can answer as he goes through the lecture
There's 3 major exams and online quiz grades. The exams overpower your entire course grade which makes it difficult to do well if you don't do good on the exams. The tests are very difficult and he's not interesting to listen to. I don't recommend taking his course.
Professor Deangelo's class was my favorite out of all the classes. He made sure that you not only understood what the words meant but that you understood the entire concept as a whole. He provided you with one sheet of the test before each exam. I found his classes very interesting and thought provoking. As long as you pay attention, you'll befine
perfect place to practice the rule: success is equal to 3 hours of studying for every hour of lecture. For all the procrastinators, his exams are no joke.
Such a great person to learn from no matter front or back of the classroom your engaged you're learning and he's making sure of it. he'll explain it more than once and is open to all questions any concerns or extra help needed he's there! overslept for my final and was 30 min late offered to stay as late as I needed , told me not to rush.
Deangelo is The Man. When a professor remembers the students' names in a lecture hall, it means something. Tests are difficult, but it's biology, they're supposed to be. He keeps a good vibe in his lectures. Deangelo is charismatic and demands your attention w/o saying so. He teaches you to the best of his ability, then leaves the rest to you.
Professor Deangelo is great. He is always willing to go over things if you are having a hard time. He's very knowledgeable, and really tries to make learning this tough subject as interesting and fun as possible. Definitly recommend taking this professor for a&p!
PD's BIO 105 was like purchasing cheap, mass produced wine and having Chateauneuf De Pape slipped into your bag instead - with brilliant, crystal clear wine glasses AND a handsome/handy corkscrew. Any reviewer who disagrees is (likely) an ignoramus- scorned because they didn't get an easy A. Seriously, he's a great teacher and a true asset to LCCC.
Had him for 5 week class over the se mester it was tough , but he made it interesting especially with his occasional get up! He loves to teach biology , and return he will make you love it too.
Took him and was definitely one of the top professors in my LCCC experience. Made things understandable, was accessible, and definitely made a required course an enjoyable course. To complainers about his grading, he follows standard 4 year university grading protocol, so good luck in higher biology.
Honestly the best professor. I had him before for a Bio class and he was great! He makes class interesting and explains things very well!
Deangelo's test are hard, but he gives you a study packet and reviews with the class before his tests. He gives you your tests back so you can study for the final. The most important thing about him is his second chance policy. He gives you a chance to improve your exam grades. If you take him take good notes, record lectures and you will be fine
Took him for an accelerated summer class. Worst professor Ive had. Maybe it was the short time span or the fact that he jokes around more than actually teaching. On his test he gives you multiple choice, 4/5 which are correct answers but you must choose which answer he prefers. Does a hangman/Jeopardy type of vocal, which sucks. Dont take him.
Ugh! He made bio105 so confusing. Talks wayyy too much and gets off topic. Very confusing.
Fantastic professor. I appreciated his attention to detail and eloquent speech in lecture. He helped design the lab/course structure, so he really knows what he's talking about. Lenient grading policy and willing to flex deadlines on lab projects. 10/10 would take again.
His classes are heavy on chemistry. If you are a chemistry major good choice. But we take chemistry class so the focus is overdone. Wanted to learn more. He is nice. Didn't like that he gives students tests to keep. Not fair to people who do the work themselves and try to learn. People are copying and sharing tests from other semesters.
He isnt an easy A but you will surely come out of his class learning something. Id recommend recording the lectures cause thats basically what his test questions come from. He gives a huge packet with learning objectives for each chapter so if you know all of those well you should do well on the exams.
Great professor. Very caring and fair. He gives you plenty of opportunities to get an A. Extra credit on tests, and online quizzes. The learning objectives help and he emails you notes.
I took Professor DeAngelo for Anatomy and Physiology I lecture and I have to say he is one of the best professors that I have ever encountered. He makes learning a difficult subject easy to understand. He gives great examples that are relatable and is readily available to answer any question you may have. I am taking him again for A&P 2.
He is one of the best professors I had. He is very heavy on lectures but he does a lot for you to help you out with understanding and making it fare. He was always willing to work with me outside of class and even helped me with understanding a lab project. He gives lots of work but makes it easy to understand! Will take him again!
Don't get me wrong, he is a good professor. But, everything he says that is going to be on the test isn't. He talks a little too much and sometime he may get off topic. He doesn't even follow what he says. Says one thing and does the other. I do not recommend him.
A&P 1; Yes this is lecture heavy class, but this course in general is heavy. You get out of it what you put in. Paying attention and participation HELPS. I do feel that if you miss a class, you miss alot. However, he is a great professor, Information covered is relavant to the tests. Expalains concepts well and makes it understandable.
Second A&P course. Lecture is Heavy and theres ALOT of material covered. He makes it a point to cover topics you will be tested on. Paying attention is KEY. He has no problem re-wording topics in regard to a question. You can tell he WANTS to you understand. I think he is a great proffessor and I believe he really enjoys doing what he does for us
Go to class, pay attention, RECORD LECTURES (he tells you this the very first day) take good notes, and STUDY! You'll do fine, but this is not an easy A class. there is alot of information, Overall he's a good professor he does his part very well.
My favorite professor!!!
He is very detailed with his powerpoints. Explains everything pretty well. Quizzes are online. No homework. A take home quiz. Test are hard, mostly multiple choice and true/false questions but also 1 or 2 essay questions. Hes very understanding and caring. Will always email back quickly if you have an questions.
Professor DeAngelo is an excellent professor in my opinion! His lectures are heavy, you learn a lot, and if you miss even a couple lectures I think you can say goodbye to an A or B. However he is a very fair grader, he has a wonderful Second Chance policy, and he is extremely accessible via email anytime. I highly recommend taking him!!
If you put in the work and study you WILL do great. He gives you all the tools to succeed. No surprises, straight forward tests, excellent experience.
He really enjoys biology, has a passion for this class. Was a 5 week summer course, super hard. He did email you notes from every class which was great, but overall difficult class.
He is a good professor but really is heavy on lectures. Gets off topic too much material I understand its biology but he is very very smart and outgoing but difficult.
I loved this class! He made learning about Anatomy and Physiology interesting and engaging! It was apparent that he has a wealth of knowledge. His course of study was extremely organized and he followed the syllabus to a T, adding interesting factoids and providing examples that made content relatable.
There were times where I emailed him for help & to re-send lecture notes, he did NOT reply. His tests are difficult the way he words his questions. He does have a second chance policy BUT it puts a lot stress for the final. I did tell him I would be out for a week due to surgery & an exam was given, he told me to take it when its finals.
you MUST pay attention and go to class or you will miss out on so much material. this class stressed me out so much I feared I was going to fail. and im a person who goes to every class does all the homework can focus and studies endlessly. he talks very fast and explains new concepts as you will get them in 5 mins. I wish I did better in this clas
The best professor I have ever had. He does everything possible for you to do well, but you better put in the work. Hes always willing to help and answer your questions, and uses a lot of analogies to help you better understand the material. I highly recommend him and absolutely will he taking him again.
Outstanding - thorough and patient professor!
I have taken DeAngelo for every science course possible. He is the best professor I've ever had, and always strives for his students to do well. There's always a lot of information posted for you to review, and if you don't understand something he will do his best to make sure you do. You have to work for your grade, but he sets you up for success.
Ive taken all the courses he teaches. This course could have been much harder but Professor DeAngelo takes the time to thoroughly present the material and answer questions. He really has an interest in his students succeeding and learning. I cant say enough wonderful things about him as a teacher.
Great professor! He has great lectures and you learn a lot from them. He is willing to help you understand the material and wants you to learn. 10/10
Very great person and teach, he was always very considering and knowledgeable for lectures. He provided us with all information and thoroughly explained information. Also we only had exams and quizzes (unlimited attempts) and no additional work or papers. He is a great professor, definitely worth taking!
Deangelo was so helpful and taught at a level that you were able to understand. He describes in detail everything required. I never worked so hard for my A in my life. I took a summer micro course and it was intense.Ton of homework, Lots of studying required. He grades hard. takes off for one letter wrong in spelling for fill in the blank tests.
Hes a great professor, very easy to understand. However his tests are HARD. You have to study really well for his tests but he is a great teacher and will answer any questions you have in class or out of class! I highly recommend him! I got withdrawn for family issues, nothing to do with him.
Great guy and very understanding but you will have to work EXTREMELY HARD for your grade. I suggest you do not take any other classes while taking his class. He does not give any homework. Grades are based on exams and quizzes. His exams are very hard and confusing at times.
I took Micro with Deangelo over the summer. It was an intense course, but it was 4 months worth of material in 5 weeks. The tests were difficult, but manageable. Assignments were clear and straightforward. He was also very helpful and accessible outside of class. I would love to take another class with Deangelo. Great professor!
Dr. DeAngelo is a great professor who is an expert in biology. He teaches to make you understand. His tests are extremely hard but if you the time and dedication to it, you will succeed his class. Overall I recommend!
Professor DeAngelo is the MAN! As long as you apply yourself and legit study you will pass. He makes up his own questions on exams which can make the exams slightly tip in favor of being difficult. If you fail you can only blame yourself. He has a unique extra credit grading curve that can save you if you bomb a test. Would take again!!!
Took A and P 2 with Deangelo over the summer. The tests were difficult, but manageable. Assignments were clear and straightforward, and the quizzes assigned could be taken over and over again until the grade desired by the student which really helps you grade. I will be taking microbiology with him. Outstanding professor unlike some others at LCCC
kind person and slightly strict , tough class. knowing definitions is not enough for test you should really understand the material to pass , unlimited quizzes help
Online class, mostly consisting of very well taught lectures (watch them as many times as you can) He is very accessible and helpful to those that need it. Exams are a bit tough as he makes all of his own questions but if you know your stuff you'll do fine on them. His teaching style makes sure you know everything, you just need to put the time in.
Professor Deangelo is great and makes it clear what need to study in order to do well on exams. I had him for A&P 2 and will be taking him for micro!
He is a nice man but terrible prof. We watched old lectures from 2020 when I didn't sign up and pay for my class to have to watch videos! Not helpful at all.
Dr. DeAngelo is too smart for his own good. I liked his lecture videos. His tests are hard. Definitely watch his lecture videos and review his PowerPoints.
Professor DeAngelo's class is challenging, but he makes the material clear. Attend lectures, study hard, and consider using Unstuck ai for extra practice - it really helped me prep for the tough exams.
