Denton has a great sense of humor, which he uses to maintain class interest. I learned a lot more than I expected from his class.

He's a really good teacher. His lectures are really stimulating and fun. The only challenging part about his class is his essay papers.

really cool teacher. entertaining; he portrays religion as pictures from far-off places, which really hold interest. you come out of that class learning more about people and yourself.

I took the class for requirement, but came away with knowledge that applies to life in general. The instructor is great, has a human side and is very approachable. The material is hard to grasp at first, but once you get it is a very interesting and worthwhile class. Strongly recommended class and instructor.

If you come to class everyday and take notes you will pass with an A. When it comes to papers, he more interested in what you have to say than how many pages you write. He's also funny and entertaining. Gives points for using the KCC message board.

took this class as a requirement, but after the first month i'm REALLY glad i took it. although you must write MANY papers, it is fairly easy. GREAT class. recommend you take it.

One word sums up this course-WOW! Eric is an amazing instructor that doesn't just preach from the texts but from actual experiences. He is as objective as one can be in a religion course and encourgaes you to draw your own conclusions. Definitely one of the best professors you'll find anywhere, CC or university!

Take Mr. Denton's class. His classes are organized, interesting, and he's a pretty funny guy too. Let's put it this way...I have never fallen asleep in his class. Ever. Word of advice though--if you don't plan to work hard then this class isn't for you. Trust me, if you take his class you will not only enjoy it, but become a better student for it.

His lectures are extremely interesting to listen to, with lots of funny personal experience stories from when he traveled to different countries/monasteries/temples. He does grade work pretty severely, though, and loses patience if things don't come up to (very high) standards. You can NOT sleep through his class.

Mr. Denton is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. He is so energetic when he is teaching his classes and so funny. I told all my friends to take his class. He's so passionate about teaching his classes that it makes me want to learn about whatever he wants us to learn about. Take his class!!

Great Professor, very well rounded on the subject material. Very funny. It felt as though we were watching stand up comedy, not a lecture. There isn't much work, just a few papers, and the exams are a exceptionally easy if you study. I went in for the prerequisite, but now am very interested in the subject and am taking his 200 level course.

Great teacher! I have taken two classes with him. Reasonable work load, if you keep up there is no reason not to get and A or a B. Has wonderful stories and experiences that makes the subject matter come to life.

Great teacher!! Made me understand about the history of what I believe in and the history of what others believe in. Can't wait to start taking his Indian Religion class.

Incredibly fun! He lectures the whole class, but he incorporates stories and jokes that relate to course material. The only problem I have with this teacher is that he's not going to be teaching for the next 2 years!! I highly recommend taking his class once he gets back into a classroom!

AWESOME teacher. He really knows his stuff and has traveled the world to experience much of what he is teaching. Never a dull moment or day. Makes stories his own and the critical thinking papers are fun and you can never be 'wrong' because you're writing what you think. I believe he's the dept head now, but when he gets back, take his classes!

Mr.Denton is quickly becoming not only my favorite teacher, but favorite person in the world (besides myself). He is so funny and encourages everyone to think critically. One of the most enriching classes at KCC. This class is way more than a class, it really changes your attitute towards life. Plus, Eric is sexy in an odd sort of way!

A professor not to miss. If you care about what you're goin to learn about than you'll love this class. Eric is a phenomenal teacher. What you put into this class is what you get out of it. Top notch, well rounded and engaging. If you don't come out of this class without an A, it's your fault. And that means you suck and didn't try hard enough.

He is a good teacher. He is very knowledgeable, and is able to answer almost any question you shoot at him. He's been to a lot of the religious sights, so it kind of builds his credibility. He's a funny teacher and the class is really interesting and very easy. He puts all his powerpoints online for you, he doesn't give book work, if you have questions he will clarify anything, only 2 essays, no other homework. All of the exams are online, open-book, and he gives wordlists for the exams. Very easy class, I highly recommend him

Very funny and giddy personality! Really kept me interested in lectures. Course will be easy as long as you do all the work and pay attention in class. Exams have a short time so you must study before taking it! It is not easy if you are doing it open book.

Unfortunately, I had to withdraw from the semester, but Denton is a good instructor. Very strict when it comes to the mechanics of writing formal papers, but it's really for the best. It will only help you improve. Knowledgeable, personable, and easy to get into contact with. Thumbs up.

Really funny and pretty chill teacher. He made the course pretty interesting and overall would definitely recommend him or take him for a higher level Rel class. He also doesn't use a textbook so another plus and pretty easy on papers and quizzes.

Coming from UH and having taken religion before (and failed), I was worried about the class. But soon found Eric's approach to the material and enthusiasm that he displays really helped me soak in the knowledge. thanks!

Without a doubt my most favorite professor ever! He's really knowledgeable about his materials and is always willing to help you outside of class time. His lectures are sure to make you laugh while keeping it interesting enough to soak up knowledge. Definitely thankful to have had an opportunity to attend his class!

Eric is hilarious! Lectures are easy to follow, take notes. Lots of readings, just to give you a better understanding (I've never read but still ended up with a 88%). NO HOMEWORK. Just make sure to study the terms for the exams. There's a prepost test, remember the pre test so you can study for the post test (exact questions). Awesome prof. MUST!

I like Eric Denton! I understand why he's such a popular teacher, although he wasn't as hard as I thought he was going to be. He's a nice and funny guy and makes the subject matter interesting.

I just took Eric's summer session of Religion 150 and I loved it. I believe everyone needs to take this class just to educate themselves on the world and its religions. He is a very passionate teacher and will grab your attention with his lectures. I learned a lot and I ended up getting an A. Take this class if you need the credit.

Absolutely one of my favorite teachers ever! What an awesome class! There is no book to purchase because he provides all the resources. His slides and lectures are so engaging and he has a great sense of humor! He really modernizes the material in a fun and motivating way. I would love to take another class of his again. Totally recommend him!

I loved this class! i was always entertained and kept interested on the topic. he explains very well and easy to understand. very important to be nuetral otherwise you might get stuck or be uninterested. 2 papers (doesn't even have to be perfect in grammar or to be in essay form and still get a perfect score.. just amazing!) STUDY AND UNDERSTAND.

Took this class as a history credit, I wasn't really interested in the subject at all. But Professor Denton tried to make the course interesting by his lectures (he's hilarious and gets really into what he's teaching). You don't need to read any text book but You can get behind if u miss lec. Made class interesting too, really enjoyed and would def recommend.

He does lecture all class but they are not boring. He can make religion sound interesting and even makes jokes about somethings. There are some readings, but on the bright side there is no textbook to pay for. Tests are online and he gives a good amount of time even if it may sound intimidating.

Strict about online forum participation (forget to post for a week and you'll be shut out of the system for that unit), VERY engaging lectures, option for extra credit. 10/10 would recommend! Only two brief (4-5 pages) papers to write.

You'll do fine without reading assigned text & perfect attendance. Learn the vocabulary, write the papers (3 total), contribute to the discussion forum, and have the ppts, vocabulary lists, & Google open during your exams (all online). Was absent for a month and got a high B in the course. He's great at answering questions and leading discussions.

Only two essays to write. Even though your English grammar is not perfect, he would give you full credit. He makes class really fun and interesting. Exams are all online and can be taken at home. Writing an essay count as your extra credit worth like 15 points. Only thing that he strict about is participation of is online discussion forums.

Im currently in his class and am really enjoying myself. Dentons lectures are extremely engaging, interesting and fun to listen to. I genuinely look forward to his class and would recommend it to anybody. I think showing up to class is important, as well as keeping up with the exam wordlists provided. I have a total academic brain crush on him.

Awesome professor. Only goes over the main religions of the world (Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Ancient Hawaiian Religion). Really makes you think about how religion started and the way that it impacted our society. Only 3 exams most of the things on it are in his lectures so you have to come to class but its worth it.

I attended this class not really caring for it, left loving it. I wish I could of taken it during a normal semester. This class has a lot of reading, but its extremely interesting, and necessary for the exams. The instructor its by far my favorite instructor in the entire campus. This class is a must for everyone, you will thank me later.

Eric has an amazing personality and made class fun. By the end of the sem, this was my favorite class. Recording lectures are helpful. Make sure to participate in forums!

If you don't take Professor Denton, you are making a horrible mistake! He is the best professor I have ever had! Funny, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, etc. His lectures are amazing and everything you need to know is in the lectures so DON'T MISS CLASS! As a history major, I can say that Denton's HIST/REL 222 class is the hardest history class I've had thus far. This class requires ALOT of reading and writing since it is Writing Intensive. Denton gives great feedback on assignments, but he acts arrogant sometimes since he's so knowledgeable w/ religion. To get an A, get ready to work your butt off

I took Denton for the second time and 2/2, he did it again! Once again, the best professor I've ever had. His WI class is very challenging, so my grade didn't come easily, but the information was both interesting and life-changing. It wasn't a ton of work, just a lot of (hard) reading, but he's very helpful outside of class. Love this guy so much!!

Professor Denton is amazingly knowledgeable and experienced. The online version of this course was not hard for me at at all because it was asynchronous. He always gives his students heads-ups. I took three other courses and I was able to complete all assignments with no problem. His lectures are inspirational and funny. Highly recommendable!

Denton was hilarious, easy to talk to and intelligent. He responds to emails quickly. The amount of lectures you need to watch is a lot but they are very important. Joining his optional Zoom hours was beneficial n because I could ask a lot of questions and listen to discussions with other students to help understand the concept.

While this is a heavy lecture class, I feel like you could get by just watching a video or two to create your forum posting. You can post as many forums as you need to get the 5 points. After the 3rd or 4th week assignments are turned in bi-weekly. There are only two papers (3pgs. each) but they're pretty simple. There are three exams (open notes).

I have never taken a class like Rel 150, so I was not too sure what to expect. It is very lecture heavy, but it is usually divided so it is digestible. In total, be prepared for hours of lectures 3+ hours. However, Professor Denton makes this class very enjoyable. He is very clear on his information and has a good sense of humor. Take this class!

Prof. Denton's class is very lecture heavy, but is spaced out well. We learned about multiple religions within the span of the semester. For anyone wanting to take a Religion 150 class, I highly recommend Prof. Denton.

I loved taking this class so much. His lectures maintained my attention and the whole thing was littered with jokes. He actually made learning about religions a lot of fun through his lectures. All of the assignments are due on sunday at midnight, and the assignments are pretty easy if you actually watch the lectures and take notes.

Professor Denton was usually in a positive mood, was encouraging, and gave good feedback. Gave helpful guidance when, for example, formulating a thesis statement. It wasn't easy but he let students know if they were on the right track and over many exchanges, helped us to refine the thesis statement. Highly recommend this professor.

My favorite Prof all semester! Lectures and informative and engaging. You will do fine in this class as long as you attend class and pay attention. Homework is usually composed of readings and forum postings. 2 essays total that aren't too difficult if you put in the effort. All quizzes and exams are online.

Easily the most engaging lecture based professor I have ever had, he is an incredible teacher and is fantastic at portraying a topic that at first glance is uninteresting in a way that leaves you craving more. This was the most enlightening class I've ever taken and I wish I could start over and do it all amazing. Such a great guy.

Professor Denton is one of the best professors I had this year, to be honest, when I first did the syllabus review, I was skeptical because of the no technology rule but believe me. It was a lifesaver he did that. Unlimited attempts on quizzes but it's not hard if you follow along on his lecture. Attend his lectures to not miss anything!
