Mr. D was a cool teacher. He was always available for help in and out of class. He helped you to improve on your papers. I got all A's on my paper. Not only is he a good teacher but he can make you laugh til you're red in the face. I highly recommend him as a professor.

I took him for COM 101 and 102! He is really outgoing, has awesome topics, and is always willing to help. He tries to get his students into his topics by class discussions, watching movies, and hand outs that have meanings. Yes, their is some readings and poems but it is interesting and you can learn from it

Took his Lit 220 class online, best online teacher ever...very helpful when ever it was needed. He made the discussion boards very fun and interesting. He took a bit long to grade papers but overall awesomeee teacher! Def. recommend taking him for lit class.

We only went to maybe 10 classes the whole semester.He gives us our topics and gives us 2 weeks to write it so we dont have class in between that time. Hes cool and down to earth.

An awesome teacher! You can make corrections on your first two papers and he will raise your grade! He's very helpful and you can always ask him to read over your paper before you turn it in. He will tell you exactly what you need to fix in order to get a better grade. I would highly recommend taking him!

Great teacher! Some expectations of his are that you talk and share your input, he hates it when no one has anything to say or if no one does the reading for the day. He's willing to put as much time into your writing as you want him to. Easy to do well as long as you make some sort of effort.

His biggest goal in class was to get students to really think critically, not just buy into an opinion. He wanted us to look at things from different perspectives and not just our own and he wanted us to use life experiences and combine all those things to make our own opinion and our own paper.Class time is ALL about discussion. Take his class!

One of my favorite teachers!! Com 101 is supposed to a bogus class about writting essays but he's super free about the topics and makes your writing mean something. The essays are higher level, many people have said its COM102 material, but it makes COM102 easy. He grades kinda hard but I learned more in that class than any other, take his class <3

Highly recommend Eric. He has an awesome perspective to writing that is nothing like I've done before. You're free to pick topics & he pushes you to go beyond boring essays. He's such a gnarly dude, and the class is amazing. I took creative fiction writing, by the way. I can't remember the code or section number.

E is awesome. I took his online course and I easily managed an A while working attending to another class and a new born baby. He gave me his personal number when i needed help because of my schedule i could never meet with him. boards aren't hard comment once and you get credit as long as it's something more meaningful than i agree with you.

Awesome guy and teacher. His class isn't an easy A but it's not difficult as long as you aren't incredibly lazy. Participate in the discussion boards!!! You'll lose a ton of points if you don't. I suggest meeting with him in person at least once or twice if you take it online just to make sure you're on the same page for essay ideas. The book helps

Definitely had to work at writing a great essay but it helped in the long run. Don't need his textbook but i got it and some of the material helped clear things up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM

I would never take him again. He is an extremely tough grader. Never gotten so many Bs my entire experience at MVCC. Made us do massive group presentations that took up 5 classes. It felt like a waste of time since it didn't help us learn anything except that working in groups is tough to come up 60 min of material while he did nothing

DO NOT TAKE CREATIVE WRITING AT MORAINE. The professor is knowledgeable and probably not a bad teacher but he has taken out every element of Creative Writing. and the class has become a drag. It's no different then COM 101 and I in fact got more creative liberty in that class then this teacher wants to give.

Eric was a breath of fresh air compared to other teachers at Moraine. He's down to earth and willing to help whoever seeks it. This teacher has encouraged me to write in ways that I cannot describe with only 350 characters. He gives great clear feedback, challenges your thought process and your writing. Take this class if you love to write, are serious about becoming better, and can take constructive criticism. He is one of my favorite teachers and will take him again.

Absolutely hated writing before this class. I'm a science major, and I thought that COM101 would be a waste of time. Great professor, especially helpful with revision and editing process. Really wants you to improve, and notices when you try harder. Truthfully, the class made me want to rethink my major.

Eric's first bit of feedback for me was, "You're an incredible writer. Trust me, I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it." He tells it like it is, so if he swears at you or gives you C's, you deserve it. He inspired me to pursue what I love. I took 2 more classes with him, and met some of my dearest friends/colleagues. Remember, "Show, don't tell."

While prof. DeVillez was a very tough grader, he was very helpful. I took him online, my first ever online class and he made it a breeze. Make sure you put effort behind discussion boards, he reads and responds to them. He is a bit confusing online so beware. You will work for your grade in this class, but he is always available for extra help.

Everyone says he's a hard grader, but he just wants you to think outside the box, and made me a better writer in that way. Eric is super honest and really sincere. I absolutely hate writing. I've always hated it since elementary school but you know how you would occasionally get that one teacher that just made you want to give it your all? This is one of those. I've only met three teachers so far which actually made me want to write and he was one of them. He talks quickly, but you'll get use to that.

I loved his class! However, he prefers a completely different way of writing and it was an adjustment for me. He doesn't believe in the standard introduction with main points, 3 paragraphs, and conclusion. I used to be an A+ writer until I took this class and got B's and C's. I like Eric and I would take him again but not as a writing teacher.

I took Eric for Honors Com102, and this class easily was my favorite. The whole class was one paper that you could put your passion into on any topic. The community in that class was amazing, and I'm going to genuinely miss it. If you have the chance to take Eric, please do! See him regularly during office hours and you will get an A.

Took his honors COM102 class. Eric is one of those teachers who genuinely cares for his students and them succeeding in class. One major paper (12-15 pages) and a 20 minute presentation for the final. Not overwhelming whatsoever because you have the entire semester to prep. Funny, caring, respected teacher. Def take him!!

Eric is my favorite professor , I had no idea how to write essays. I always went through high school getting d's on my essays. Eric actually took his time and thought me how to write an essay. I want to take him for com 102 but his class is full since its an honors class. But even though I sucked at writing he suggested I take his com102.

Took DeVillez for online summer class. A lot of discussion boards, and ended the semester with 10-12 page research paper. First time taking an online class, and Eric was great at keeping in touch with the students, adding to commentary to our discussions. Made it a priority to prepare you for the paper and his expectations. 10/100 would take again!

Eric was a great professor, especially for teaching COM101, which is an introductory class, as well as a mandatory class. He gives feedback to your writings, unlike some professors who will just mark up your paper with no reasoning behind it. He helps you grow as a student and as a writer. His class has helped me in many of my other classes!

He is the type of teacher that challenges a student to their fullest potential, very inspirational, poetic and cool guy to talk to. He makes himself available to always help someone out. And he has a cool beard. The papers required for his class aren't necessarily hard, just thought provoking, which is his job, but he does it with humor.

DeVillez is one of the most understanding professors you will ever meet. As long as you do what is asked of the class you will be fine. Ended the class with a high A and all I had to do was actually put thought into the assignments. Its not a blow over class, but just actually putting thought will easily get you that A.

Answers questions with questions. only 4 total papers and you have a decent amount of time to do each. Participation is very important. will easily lose 100 points if you don't. Super nice. If you don't do the work you won't pass. make sure you stay on top if things and your grade will be fine!

Cannot say enough good things. He grades according to how much effort you put in and to your personal academic level. At first, that upset me. I felt I did better than other mates and got lower grades but that's what makes him an above & beyond teacher. He takes the time to teach and push you at any level without judgement; my best lesson learned.

Helpful and wants you to understand not just be right. Holds office hours online and helped me with assignemnts.

This professor isn't easy but if you do the work you will learn and get the grade you earned. Online whiners quit whining and start working! Weekly discussions were there and had to do them but not too much, but hey--it's a college class

It's a required class but he made it fun. Do the work and participate and you'll be good. Funny and helpful. Use office hours for extra help if u need it

He is the most AMAZING professor I've got. He's super funny, and helps a lot no matter how many times you ask him for help he will gladly answer you! His lectures are unique and not boring AT ALL, I never got bored in his class, I was always excited to go and listen to him talk. Highly recommended!!!

He's a hard grader but he's fair. He really wants you to learn so you can do better in other classes. I learned a lot. He's funny, too.

De villez is a cool but can be a difficult teacher. He can get into his inspirational rants/speeches, but he's also very helpful if he sees you are trying hard and show you care to do better in class.

I took Professor DeVillez last semester for Com 101, I ended with an A but it took a bit of work. He is a tough grader but he gives really good feedback for you to do better on the next essay which is helpful. His lectures feel long but I found most of what he was saying helped me a lot.

Prof. De Villez makes students earn their grade. If you are a leach to society and want to skate by with little to no effort you may not enjoy this class. How ever, if you want to receive a good education this is the way to go. He challenges everyone to think further than the prompt. He is a tough grader but gives great critiques.

Excellent professor. Very interesting and thought provoking classes. Makes himself available for questions and help.

Maybe that last reviewer had an easy time in 102 because DeVillez taught a lot in 102? Hmm. . . . I learned a lot. It wasn't easy, but I don't think it should be. This is college.

DeVillez offered to pay my Uber when my car broke down. What else can I say? He really cares and wants us to learn. He's a hard grader, but he's fair. He pushed me but ina good way. I'll take him again for sure.

His class wasn't that hard as long as you participate in weekly discussions and meet all deadlines.

As long as you come to class, ask questions, and turn assignments in on time you will 100% pass the class with at least a B. He is a tough grader but if you need help he will help with no hesitation.

Professor De Villez was the professor who inspired me to keep going in my education. I was the oldest in my COM-101 class 2 years back but he kept me motivated. Through his assignments I regained my love of writing I had lost. He is very firm on how the essays should be written, but he offers feedback & guidance when you ask for his help.

Soooo helpful. He really wants you to think and expects a lot from you, but hey, this is college. Work and you will get the grade.

This course was fairly easy and as long as you stay on top of work you should come out with a good grade. Only issue I have is discussion posts; there are a lot of them and he's one of those professors who hides them within the modules tab instead of labeling them as assignments so make sure you check each week.

Professor De Villez is tough but fair. He pushes you to do your best, and is always willing to help if you put in the effort. unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the class materials.

He met me to meet about my papers so I could make them better, and I'm an online student. If you take the time to do the work and ask for feedback, he'll help until you understand. Take him.

Lots of papers to write, but it's good because it gets you more into writing. He is very nice and will literally help you with everything. Amazing feedback aswell.
