He is great, he will clarify things and answer all questions. He gives realistic examples and shows up to date videos that students actually understand to help you learn. He requires you to read the textbook, its where he gets his test questions & pop quizzes questions from. Easy A if you read consistently & take notes.

Professor Fiske is BY FAR my favorite professor as of now. He is so incredibly helpful and his classes are actually interesting! He tries to be very interactive with his students and is always interested in your opinion. The class is very easy and he lectures very well. He is also not biased whatsoever. He's the best. Take him, Take him, Take him.

Fiske is the bomb. He helps you with everything, and he's not boring at all. This is the only year I've ever enjoyed a political class.

Mr. Fiske made American government fun, if you can believe that! Truthfully, he made the course interesting by using PP presentations, film, pop quizzes and group participation. Really enjoyed the class.

He is definitely my favorite teacher. The class lectures were always my favorite part of the day because I knew I was going to learn something about politics and laugh about it at the same time. His class videos are great. The show West Wing helped me understand some of the things he discussed in class.

Professor Fiske was a good professor. He loves to teach and you can tell that it is a passion of his. He gives pop quizzes and it is very important that you read the chapter assigned for the week. He takes offense to people who sleep in his class and leave his class early without telling him before class. He also counts attendance as a grade.

Mr. Fiske made his lessons fun and interactive ,therefore, I looked forward to every class . He is very helpful. Gives a study guide before every test, and a research paper in parts so it made it very easy to do. I learned so much in his class , and became very passionate about different subjects in politics. TAKE HIM. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This teacher has a great technique at connecting with his class by including participation in class polls and groups discussions. He shows he cares on what you learn by thoroughly explaining the chapter in his lectures, showing films that could connect to the subject some what, and providing a detailed review.

Great teacher, he really cares about his students. He checks his email regularly, and is always available to help you out. His attendance policy is somewhat strict, you get 1 skip, any more affects your overall grade (2Late 1Day). Overall I love this teacher and wish I could take him again for another course.

TAKE HIM! Fiske is such a great teacher. View the video lectures, he gives you the answers to the quizes in the lectures. You watch a documentary and complete a paper on it. Polls are fun! Textbook readings are long. Question wording on final exam were a bit confusing. Overall I would take him again. Loved the class!

I really enjoy his classes. Hes very laidback and hes flexible if you work with him. He is not a strict grader and you will do well if you show up and do the work at your best. His lectures are very entertaining and I like how he lectures. His grading system is amazing. He is not a big test professor. You will do more writing then exams.

Fiske is an awesome professor! You definitely have to study for his exams and read the book, but he does provide a small study guide. Luckily, current events and your final paper are worth the same amount as the exams. Just do the work and you'll be fine! He tries to keep things interesting and exciting.

The feedback was so quick and helpful. His whole perosna is so positive and funny it was really the best class i've ever taken. He is not super strict like most professors and he cuts you some slack with allowing a few unexcused absences. TAKE THIS CLASS! You'll love it.

Good teacher he will differently help you if you need it. Also, if you do bad on the tests but you do everything like hw, come to class, do the current events, you will differently get a B or A. Good Teacher

Prof. Fiske is a really cool guy and you can genuinely tell he wants his students to succeed. He does an excellent job at keeping an unbiased stance whilst teaching politics and will do a reveal of his party association at the end of the semester. I definitely suggest taking a class with him.

Would suggest his classes highly! Great teacher, very involved easy to contact. Always available in office, lets you get feedback on papers before officially submitting them if you ask for him to review it a few weeks before it's due. Very engaging and non-biased teacher

Fiske is a great professor. You don't need to write on lectures because he posts his "powerpoints" on Canvas. So read them, read the textbook, and you will be ready for exams. You will also need to write 2 current events (short summary and your point of view on the current political event), and the project in 3 parts about the chosen documentary.

Professor Fiske is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had! He makes everything fun & exciting. He is super passionate about what he talks about. My favorite part about his class is he uses different methods to assess what you've learned. You'll have exams, a few current events, and several papers.

Anyone who writes a bad review on him did something wrong. Mr. Fiske is amazing hes always making lectures fun. There 4 exams and if you do good on the first 3 you can drop the last one. He has a 3 part project but if you do it right easy A!

Taken his class in the Fall of 2019, he really as they said on the rest of reviews. Smart, caring, and etc. The quizzes are easy to look up online or the book, and his exams are from his powerpoints and book mixed. Probably the best and understandable

If you read the chapters you should have no problem in his class. The papers are easy , but there are four of them. All of the tests come from his lectures and reading so listen and take good notes.

For sure would recommend him as a professor! I was skeptical going into this class but he was the funniest most relatable teacher Ive ever had here. Mr fiske was a super cool high energy teacher who really cared for all of his students, the unfortunate for me was that our class was early in the morning so we couldnt meet the same energy but overall class in there was fun and wasnt something to dread it was light work with easy readings, chill with phones for the most and very easy to reach to

I took Professor Fiske's online American Gov class. This was THE BEST online class I have ever taken. I don't know how he teaches in person, but if you're thinking about taking this course online, CHOOSE HIM. The class was basically discussion boards, reading, and easy essays. He cares for everyone and is pretty relatable.

I had Fiske during the coronavirus pandemic. he made the transition to online classes so easy and smooth. Even during class, his lectures were fun and engaging and kept my interest. Just beware of the Film project..... that was a nightmare, to say the least. But he's reasonable with his grading so it could've been worse.

You have found your Prof! Actually teaches, video lectures, is involved in discussions, shows his dogs. All good points. Three film projects, very easy. You will learn a lot in the class, and Fiske makes you want to learn even more.

Honestly I took this class because it seem easy but I had zero interest on politics and this professor is funny, motivational and gives amazing lectures that will make you understand easily the topics. There are weekly online quizzes and about 3 exams, and the film project is not hard at all. MAKE SURE YOU PICK A FILM TOPIC THAT INTERESTS YOU!

Prof. Fiske's class was so enjoyable. His lectures were funny and interactive, his teaching method is one of a kind. Just show up (on time!), show that you're listening and learning, and you'll do fine. One big project that was completed in portions throughout the semester. Online reading & mini quizzes weekly, and he drops the lowest test!

Fiske was such an understanding professor, really laid back and laced about class. he is kind of lecture heavy though, had to switch to online because of corona and he was very fast with transitioning, such a versatile and very adaptive professor, lots of opportunities for extra credit, and assignments are very easy. 10/10.

Ive taken him for Intro to political science and American government. Hes a really cool and devoted professor. He can be cheesy at times, but thats funny. Unlike other Professors that voice their own opinions he just gives information so you can make your own decisions and have your own thoughts. Overall great guy!

Please take his class. A discussion a week and He has a word count but it's not crazy. There is a final but it's easy. 3 parts to it and it is done throughout the semester. Just watch a movie and do 2 500 word essays. Has youtube videos of him explaining the topic. Then Pearson quizzes to take for the chapter are only 5 questions long and OpenBook

Every module is the same so you know exactly what to expect! The work isn't light but it's also not super hard. Professor Fiske always answers questions and the class is largely discussion-based (which is good).

Take this class now! I was not able to take this class in person but I think I would have loved it. There is a discussion and quizzes every week, but trust me when I say they are easy. 1 midterm and 1 final also easy. Never read the book and got a 100% in the class. Seriously he is amazing and he still was able to teach me things.

ABSOLUTELY TAKE HIM FOR POS2041. He is by far my favorite HCC professor. He is caring, he has a personality and is super understanding when it comes to certain issues. His class was very easy and basically an easy A. The class was more discussion heavy, but I really liked that since there wasn't any clear answer.

Each week is a couple of 5 question quizzes and 1 discussion board. If you gave yourself about 1-2 hours you could get the whole week done in one shot. You also have 3 essays to write and the final exam (One a month?). Prof F. is very good with communicating and does give some extra credit. Taking him was one of the best decisions for an easy grade

An amazing teacher! My only regret is that I was not able to take his class in person. Fiske truly cares about his students, and you can tell even online. His assignments are very straight-forward, and he is understanding and wants you to succeed! The class itself consists of weekly readings and discussions. Also super interesting and eye-opening.

THIS PROFESSOR IS GREAT! Homework is easy, test are easy and he actually cares. You only have to write 3 papers the whole semester and you can submit the paper early to have him proofread for higher grade. He is so cool and helpful. Just pay attention to lectures and do homework guaranteed letter grade of an A.

Professor Fiske is awesome! He really cares about his students and wants you to succeed in his class. He is working on his PhD so he understands about the difficulties of lots of homework. Class is discussion post heavy but extremely easy. You have 1 big paper that is divided into 3 parts. Do the papers and your assignments and you will pass.

Professor Fiske is very good at keeping his students engaged. Even though I took the class online, he makes sure to encourage the use of videos for discussion posts to make it seem more like a class. Super nice guy and always willing to answer questions. The amount of work per week is perfect, not too much at all.

His curriculum is interesting and thought-provoking, and he gets students to engage in thoughtful discussions each week. His class isn't hard, and if you're open to learning about the topic, you definitely will. Would absolutely take again. I highly reccomend him!

I took his class fully online, the content was well organized, he does weekly videos which were very helpful (I wish my other online classes had the same), I've learned so much through this class, it was not boring at all. Definitely recommend Professor Fiske.

I had him for American Government. He made it really easy for the class to understand- and interesting! The online quizzes are based off of the e-textbook but those are also fairly easy (straight from the reading). He gives extra credit. Also, 4 exams in total but the lowest is dropped so I only took 3 and still passed with an A (from lecture & hw)

I can not put into words how amazing Professor Fiske is. You can definitely tell he really enjoys teaching and he made class so much fun. The tests and assignments were not too hard at all and he offered extra credit that was super easy. I would for sure take him again!

This professor is one of the best that I have ever had! However, a lot of the class is about current social issues instead of the government. You can definitely tell what party he is even before he does the reveal because he is pretty obvious about it. He had us all take a test on privilege which Idk what that had to do with government.

Amazing professor. His textbook assignments are essential to understand the chapter tests that he does. The final exam is optional and it replaces your lowest test grade. So many extra credit opportunities and his current event and film project help out your grade if you do poorly on the tests. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HAVING HIM!!

Professor Fiske is an amazing lecturer!! The assignments are clearly outlined from the beginning of the semester and he follows a strict syllabus so just keep in mind the due dates for each assignment and you'll be fine. Professor Fiske is an awesome professor! For Political Science, he sees every viewpoint regardless of what he thinks, and that is just what is needed. Lots of voting and discussions, which are really fun, but sometimes the homework in the textbook can be boring.

You will learn everything from Our Founding Fathers and how the confederation began to current day politics and how legislation is passed through for consideration. He gives thoughtful assignments such as discussion posts so that you become comfortable discussing topics with classmates but always in a respectful way. He's a great professor.

Dr.Fiske was great! The course is easy if you read the chapters and participate in discussion posts. His discussion posts pose neutral questions and he encourages students to discuss their differing viewpoints on certain topics. There's a bunch of extra credit and the quizzes/exams are all "open book". Put in the effort and it's an easy A+!

He is lecture-based, but in a way that isn't too complex, and asks your own opinion on the concepts given. He has interesting assignments such as Current Events, which attempt to keep you up to date on what has been happening in the political sphere. Something special he exhibits is he does not do favorites. He is incredibly just and encouraging.

As long as you turn everything in don't slack off an A is very achievable in this class. He obviously cares about what he teaches which goes a long way for a professor. This class is a good pick.

I really enjoyed his class. He is funny, so it kept the class engaged. At the end of the semester he will drop your lowest test score. He also offers extra credit, make sure you do it, it really will impact your grade. I have never been strong in history but his lectures helped me do well.

He is my all time favorite professor. He is down to earth and is passionate about what he teaches. His exams aren't too difficult as long as you study. If you have the chance to take him, do it. He's all about making learning fun and will go out of his way to make sure you understood the concepts! His connections class also isn't too bad!

I love Prof. Fiske and his class! I took the online version of POS 1001, and the quality of the class is amazing! The grade was based off discussions, papers, and textbook quizzes. Fiske was quick to respond to messages, and I even had a few non-academic related conversations with him. He is such a great, amicable guy, and I recommend his courses.

He is GREAT! He clearly loves his job and makes his classes super interactive and fun. I took his honors class and had easy quizzes, essays and some projects but they are very well explained and he was always super helpful whenever I had any questions. Take him, you won't regret it!

Dr. Fiske is an amazing, enthusiastic educator. On the first day of the term it was evident to me that he loves his job and has a calling for teaching. Quizzes are from the textbook verbatim, and classes are largely peer-interactive and discussion focused. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, lenient, and patient. My favorite professor. Like, ever.

quizzes are at home, all tests are 50 questions and multiple choice. My grade was deserving i didnt do the best on the test but i still managed to pass with a B! if i never missed quizzes it would've been an A. he doesnt make u feel dumb when answering a question, he'll add on to it, idk little things matter. he is a great professor, loves his job.

I took his IDS course and found it pretty easy. Be prepared to be on camera making videos every week. He made the class fun, and most of the topics were useful for after college. I recommend taking his class.
