The homework is not mandatory but it is very useful when he does ask the students to do it. He goes at a great pace making sure everyone understands. Proff. Hernandez was always prepared for each class session. In a matter of six weeks this summer term he polished our rusty fundamentals and successfully taught us 12 week material. If I needed to take another math class (thank god I do not) I would absolutely take it with him again. The man loves to teach and it shows.

This professor was ok I guess. He sort of assumes you know the material already and skips steps. Doesn't write steps of problems on the board just does them and sort of expects you to learn it. Thank goodness the material for this class was easy. Good class to take if you need to boost GPA.

Easy course! There's notes for every lesson and sample tests which are basically the test. Mystatlab is required for homework and it has an ebook. Everything is available from day 1 so you can work at your own pace but don't leave everything till the end because Tests are every 2 weeks and available just on weekends. Also 1 Proctored Final!

For real, great proffesor, if you put a bad review is because you didn't show up to class or didn't pay attention, he is very clear about grades, if you need some extra credit, he will help you out. This was the first time I took an online class and I found it very difficult, but then again Math is not my strong suit. You must study and participate in class discussions and homework. I didn't buy a text book but the professor provides study guides so its easier to stay on top of things. If you are good at math you will be fine.

The tests are the same examples used in the reviews but with different numbers. If you do all your homework and your tests you will pass the class with a good grade. I took Hernandez at BC for Summer B. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it. Statistics isn't an easy class. I myself took it 3 times! Yes, 3 times. This was my last hope and a passed with a B! He is an incredible teacher, what I didn't learn in 3 full classes of stats, I learned in 6 weeks. As long as you participate and pay attention you will pass!

Hernandez only gives three tests, a final and homework that is due every test day. The class should be easier but sometimes he makes it more confusing. I took this professor for MAT-0057 linked with MAT-1033 computer class... We had to purchase a code from "Aleks"which was $90 to use a math program. And we worked at our own pace . There was a test every two weeks for a 8 week class. Teacher does not grade you the program does. Over all hes great, and will help you if you are struggling.

Although I love math taking this class was super easy. Prof. Hernandez allowed us to use notes for the test through Aleks. I passed with an A. If you need help you only need to ask.

Class seems easy in the beginning and gets difficult towards the end. Three exams and homework online which are 25% each. As I took this course as a summer class, the class went at an even faster pace than anticipated. Be prepared for a lot of homework and become familiar with my mathlab as all the homework is on it. 3 exams (25% of your grade) and homework which counts as the other 25%. Hes amazing tbh, I would take this class again. Hes really funny . The best math professor in dade for sure!! He knows a lot, and participation counts!

Excellent professor, hes really cool, I would totally take this class again. Very accessible after class and he always try to help the students with their grades.

Honestly this professor is amazing and caring, he is accessible during his office hours ( send him an email to make an appointment, just incase he is with another student ). He is willing go over the problem step by step, makes sure you leave the class understanding the lecture.

This guy is the best professor I've ever had a Miami-Dade. He's funny, intelligent, and really wants you to pass the class. The tests were fairly easy, and he offered some extra-credit opportunities. He's great at explaining the concepts and gives the class lots of chances to participate. 10/10 would take again.

He is a good teacher, he explains well but a little quickly so you have to pay attention.

I had taken this class 2 times with other teachers without success, until they recommended it to me and he is an excellent teacher, especially because he is approachable and very nice, he is always willing to help and explain as many times as necessary. REMEMBER THAT ALL ONLINE CLASSES REQUIRE A LOT OF YOU, TEACHERS ARE ONLY FACILITATORS

Even though Professor Hernandez comes off as stern and no-non-sense. He actually really cares that hes students learn the material so they can be successful in higher math levels.

Professor cares that you actually learn the material and will become upset if students are not taking class seriously. He utilizes open source math material so that you don't have to buy books which is a huge relief. He also uses a very good online platform that enforces mastery instead of a bunch of problems. Also the online platform is cheap. +++

Not an easy grade. What I appreciated the most was that he is very organized, stuck to syllabus, his grading criteria was clear and due dates where clearly set in the online calendar from the begging of the semester. I learned mostly from the home works and you tube, and his quiz reviews. He responds to emails quickly. His quiz reviews are awesome.

He really cares for his students, simply talk to him and he will help you. All of these negative ratings were obviously given by people who didnt ask question, pay attention, or do his homework. There were 4 hws & 4 tests, no midterm or final. His class consists of lectures & student participation. Just participate & pay attention and youll pass

Excellent professor. We did not need to buy a book, and the assignments were through Knewton Alta. He gave us excellent explanations during class. I recommend taking his Mac 2311 class.

Great prof, second time i take him. Took him for MAC2311 (A) and took him again and got an A again. Easy class, participation matters, does tests and hws thru Knewton alta which u have to pay 40 dollars for a semester. 4 tests total and 4 hws total. Final grade consists of the 4 tests and 1 overall hw grade. Final is optional. Interactive lessons

Good professor had 4 tests graded pretty heavy, the STATlab HW was honestly a lot but you had from the start of the course till the very end to finish it which helped. The discussion boards were the easiest in my opinion, one midterm and final which he gave reviews to, which helped a lot.

Course is easy to navigate! Lots of homework, but you have unlimited attempts to get 100% on them. Midterm and final are proctored and worth a good amount of your grade (20% and 30% if I remember correctly). Discussions are easy. Overall, as long as you do the work, you'll be fine.

This class was very easy to navigate and the homework had unlimited attempts, as well as the option to see how to solve it. Study guides for the tests and midterm/final were provided, and there would be questions that came directly from them on the exams. This class comes with a lot of homework, but you are set to succeed

This was my first time taking an online class for college, professor Hernandez was very patient with going through any questions you may have and helping you understand why certain questions were right or wrong. The course used videos that explained things very simply and I was able to understand how to do the equations easily!

I am not the best at math, however Professor Hernandez is caring and gives paced workload that I was able to keep up with even after having a newborn. The teaching features of PearsonLab, Tests (provided with great teaching study guides), and the professors open communication will aid in your success. Overall great experience, and great teacher.

Professor Hernandez was a great professor. There is a lot of flexibility with his assignments so even with my 40+ hour work week I was able to get them done at my own time. The course is test heavy but you get 2 chances to do them and they end up being quite easy. Recommend!

He was great. Participation & attendance definitely matter but if u put in work u will learn as well. Took it remotely. His hw and tests were thru KnewtonAlta. He explains everything clearly if you have any questions, and is easy 2 reach. If u fail this class u definitely didn't pay attention or did HW. Def. recommend, will be taking him again.

Professor Hernandez was Great! He had a clear grading criteria and was very accessible via email. Hw is on Pearson and he was even nice enough to give us all a code to use for free!!! His class is very simple. 8 discussions, 6 test, a midterm and final both proctored and the HW. I recommend Professor Hernandez to Everyone!!!!

This professor is great, he grades work on time and is available during office hours to help us understand the work material. There were 6 tests, homework, 8 discussions and a midterm and final. Great experience, always responds and is extremely knowledgeable and respectful!

He was clear from the beginning what requirements are needed for the class. The class wasn't easy but fair. He's very accommodating if you have questions during lecture and follows back up with emails. The test can be tricky if you don't take your time and read the questions clearly. But overall was very helpful, learned a lot and would take again!

The class is manageable with a lot of homework, but the teaching resources like practice questions and study guides make it doable. Unstuck study AI was also super helpful for preparing for exams. Overall, a fair and engaging online course.

He's a good teacher, I was just a bad student. He graded via 3 exams and a total homework grade. All exams proctored. He truly believes in his students and will go above and beyond/meet you halfway in the name of your academic understanding. Go into his class willing to do the work and you will pass.

Professor Hernandez explains math clearly and creates a supportive learning environment. His step-by-step teaching style, organized materials, and patience help students understand even difficult topics. He is professional, encouraging, and highly effective as an instructor.

He is a very fair professor and you earn the grade you receive. I worked hard and finished with a 93, with no grade inflation or rounding like my previous math professor.

Dr. Hernandez strictly follows the syllabus, including no make-ups, but he is clear about expectations from day one. As long as you plan ahead, it feels fair. He provides exam reviews through Knewton Alta that help you prepare without giving away the exam. You still have to understand the material, but the guidance is solid.
