Eric is a good teacher but is on the unprepared side. The lab is really pointless and sometimes confusing. 60% of the grade is hw and we only have two tests, both take home. Unfortunately some of the questions on the test are on material not covered in lecture or in the book.

Really friendly, entertaining guy, but knows his science stuff at the same time. His teaching style is down to earth instead of over students' heads, so I learned a lot. Tests don't require any memorization of facts. From what I've heard the other prof who teaches this class is difficult. Take Eric, laughing always makes a class more enjoyable.

I'm taking him right now and I had the same problems until I reread his syllabus and discovered that I needed to email him at his work email and not under the virtual college AND I also found out that my email wasn't set up right so when I "raised my hand" it didn't open up a window to send him an email since fixing it I've had no problems at all

I only took this class because I had to take a physical science. But I'm glad I took it with Prof. Jones! I took it online, you have to read the textbook! The tests weren't easy and the time is short to take them. But he answers any questions that you have if you use his work email. He's great, take him!

Professor Jones.....I wouldn't recommend this course AST1002 to anyone is who is NOT A GOOD TEST TAKER like myself. The only two grades were the midterm and the final. His class is long and boring and he doesn't interact or have any participation with the class. He did not issue a syllabus he told us to access it online.it never showed up. Horrible

Terrible teacher. I took his online. His power points were no help. He gave me a D for using online answers from yahoo answers for his 1 sentence essay questions. He doesn't answer emails when you call for help. His homework can be hard since he gives you nothing to study from. Don't take him. He expects you to know everything.

The class is hard but I was able to get a A, there's math but everything's in the book and he's pretty responsive if you email him. He posts in the discussion area so he's not like one of my other teachers that just never replies. If you cut and paste discussion answers he tells you in the syllabus that it's a 0 on homework so be warned.

Midterm, final and homework for each chapter are how it's graded. Came in thinking it would be very math intensive, but it didn't end up that way at all. Teacher didn't grade the essay (one per chapter) until after the course was over, so I never received any feedback...didn't like that. Most of the answers are in the book for hw, midterm, final.

Professor Jones' class has 10 quizzes online that you can have unlimited time for and look up answers in his powerpoint or online. Besides that there is just a midterm & final. His online course was clearly structured and well organized. His course is almost self-paced and sometimes feels like self-taught. You have to read a lot and his assignment timeline is sectioned into two parts. You can and need to organize your time wisely to have all discussions, tests etc done by a certain date. It is a different, good approach.
