Awesome Guy and loves to teach. His course is difficult (regardless of who teaches it) but overall i recommend taking him!
The lectures are structured excellent and keeps everyone from falling asleep (biology can do that). He is super helpful during office hours! So go! Take advantage of all the points offered and make sure to go to lecture... You won't pass if you don't.
Dr. Lee is FANTASTIC! He loves his job and is more than willing to go out of his way to help students. The class itself is somewhat difficult, but most definitely not impossible. There are a lot of points offered in class, so go. You MUST to take the initiative to ask him/go to his office hrs. Gives plenty of opportunities to pass with an A or B!
I took this class first semester of my freshman year and loved it. I love anything science and took AP Bio in high school, which helped a lot. I thought his class was pretty easy because he is good at explaining things and relating them to real life. He is always willing to help and will go out of the way to help his students.
I loved Dr. Lee, he was my absolute favorite!
I had Dr. Lee my first semester of college. He is an amazing teacher and you can tell he is a genius, knows exactly what he's talking about. He has a good sense of humor and is just a cool guy in general. He gives lots of opportunities to earn extra points and does whatever he can to help us succeed. Favorite professor so far!
I loved Dr. Lee as a professor. He's so funny and he loves what he does. The tests are very hard so you need to study! Go to class because there are alot of extra points involved every day.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor and definitely knows his stuff! His lectures are interesting and he is a funny guy! He keeps everyone involved and gives opportunities for extra points in class every day, so don't skip class! Tests are challenging but he gives you all the material you need! HIGHLY recommend this class!
The best teacher you will ever have
Dr. Lee is the most helpful professor I've ever had. He has his class set up for you to succeed and genuinely wants you to do well in his class. He uses powerpoint slides in all of his lectures and they are exceptional-photoshopping anything in that could help you remember little details. He goes above and beyond to help yo out in anyway he can.
I went into this class with the perception that it would be nearly impossible to pass. But Dr. Lee made it very possible to get an A. His lectures were detailed and designed to help the students understand and apply the information, not just hear it. He gives an ample amount of helpful resources for the exams. The best teacher I've ever had!
The best teacher you can get for zoo by far.
Very good teacher. If you need him to slow down, he will do it if you just ask. Gives many extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Lee did a great job with making the lectures interesting and easy to understand. He was always available to help you if you needed it. He writes the tests so paying attention to his lectures and the homework he gives is essential.
absolute amazing teacher. If you keep up with your online learnsmart homework, do your best on the in class case studies, and study for the tests an A in the class is very achievable. He is a very nice guy and truly cares about how the students do in his class. I am so happy I was able to have him as a professor last semester.
You'll have a lot of test throughout the semester but it will help your grade a lot by having so many points. If you go to his office hours he's really nice and will go over every concept with you in great detail. Best professor I've ever had and would definitely recommend him to anyone!
Tough subject. Easy to pass if you attend lecture and stay on top of the workload. Prof. Lee makes the hard stuff easy.
Dr. Lee is a pretty good lecturer and his test are not that hard with minimal effort. i highly suggest reading each chapter as well as going to action tutoring if you just struggle with Zoology. Easy class all together if you just try.
This class will be extremely hard if you do not work or study for it. The questions require full knowledge of the concepts. Dr. Lee is always open to answering questions and will do everything in his power to help you understand. ZAP is also very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this professor. Although this class was difficult, it has been my favorite
The textbook information can be confusing, but he does an incredible job at making sense of it. If you pay attention with the clicker questions, read a little outside of class, and ask 10 questions(bonus points) you will definitely make an A.
Oddly this class is way more about physiology. Dr. Lee does an amazing job explaining concepts and reviewing. Sometimes he goes quickly, but people whine and he slows down. He condenses lectures to mostly things that he will put on the test. Always bring your clicker or you will be dashing to the dorm for those extra points. They save your butt.
Hands down, one of my favorite professors. His lectures are very easy to understand and he puts emphasis on conceptual learning. If I could, I would take every biology class with him. He made learning the subject incredibly easy! Can't go wrong with Dr. Lee!
Loved Mr. Lee!! Always open to questions and genuinely wanted everyone to understand. He's occasionally very humorous and he did not make me feel stressed at all during lectures. Put in a little effort and you will get an A!
Great class. It was extremely interesting, and the teacher made sure the students knew the content before moving on. He really cared about the students and the topic, and that really showed throughout the class.
He's such a great speaker. He tries to get students involved, and actually wants students to ask questions, which I appreciate.
He makes it an interesting class
Dr. Lee is really funny and makes attending lectures somewhat enjoyable. You could probably get by without attending lectures and just by reading the textbook, but I would suggest doing both. I found this class pretty easy because I thought the material was interesting. It's an easy A if you do the homework and study for the tests.
Lectures are great but contain a ton of information so skipping one class is like missing a whole week. Plus there are clicker questions every class so you miss points if you skip. The tests are not really hard if you can apply the concepts and study hard. I only got a C but I did not study hard enough as I was not interested in this subject.
Take his class. Period. His tests are difficult, but if you study and keep up with the class it is very possible to get an A because of all the extra credit (he drops all your lowest grades/lowest test). Only reason I made a B was because I skipped class, and I made low B's on exams. Those clicker points are your friend. Learn from me.
He gives lots of extra credit and drops lowest grades at end of semester
Dr. Lee is an icon. I read the textbook chapters before coming to class and get really stressed because of how hard the concepts were, but one lecture from Dr. Lee and everything clicks! You can tell he genuinely cares about his students. Coming to class and doing the reading is really important, but if you work hard it's really a fun class!
You definitely need to go to class, because the lectures are everything that's on the exam. I never read the book, but if you go over notes from lecture and do the practice exams you will do well. He is a great guy, and he really cares about the subject matter and all of his students, even though there are like 400.
Preview material BEFORE class if u want to understand the lecture at all. Some people can actually do this by reading the book but that's useless to others (like me). If u don't learn by reading then watch videos before class. NEED to study. Take the practice tests seriously. Hated science until I took this class, ended up being my favorite class.
Very tough class for a first semester freshman but if you study then youll learn a lot. Dont make the mistake of thinking you wont have to study because you will, a LOT. Overall a great class though, wish I had applied myself more.
I loved Dr. Lee! This class is tough, though. I took it my first semester and it was definitely my hardest class. He really makes you study, I had to learn the hard way. The case studies/tests are hard and they make you think, so you can't just memorize the info. and think you'll pass. You won't.
This class was a tough course. The tests were challenging! I recommend reading the chapters he is going to be lecturing about before class so you have a understanding. He doesnt require attendance, but there are clicker pop quizzes every class.
This class was one of the hardest classes I have ever take, be prepared to read ahead and do not get behind. The exams have a lot to do wit application as well as the case studies that you have to work on every week.
Dr. Lee is definitely my favorite professor at OU thus far. Although his class is challenging, he really cares about his students. He always answers emails within the day and is always willing to help with any questions you may have. If you have to take Zoo, I 100% recommend Dr. Lee. He's awesome.
love the man.
Dr. Lee's class was the most interesting class I've taken at OU so far. Each lecture felt like the information was important for the test and real world scenarios. The case studies are hard, but they truly advance your critical thinking skills. He is funny, a great professor, and very accessible outside of class. Take his class for a great semester
Dr. Lee is hilarious. His lectures are actually really interesting and applicable to real-life scenarios. The case studies each Friday are challenging and his exams have a lot of application questions, but if you take good notes and read the chapters, youll do great! Hes definitely been one of my favorite professors at OU.
Dr. Lee Is an amazing instructor. The tests are difficult, but you get to drop your lowest exam. My best advice (if you are looking to make a B in the class), study really hard for at least two midterms (make at least a C on them). Do well on the other assignments as well. Then, you will not have to make as good of a grade on the final.
His class is a lot harder than I ever expected an intro biology class to be, and be prepared to memorize heinous amounts of detail. Thankfully, he grades very objectively (almost everything is multiple choice or pass/fail participation).
Dr. Lee is a phenomenal teacher. I cannot express how much I enjoyed his class. It was all lectures & he managed to be intriguing in every single one of them. Don't miss lecture, or you will fall behind & miss pertinent information. He is great during office hours & has easily been my favorite teacher at OU! You gotta work hard, but it's worth it.
Dr. Lee is a phenomenal lecturer. I didnt think that I would enjoy biology as much as I did, but he made this class one of my favorite classes of the semester. He is caring and kind and very approachable at the weekly action centers. Class isnt always easy and you must read, but he gives relevant examples to help you apply the material to life.
It requires outside of classroom studying, but lectures are helpful and important. But he does everything possible as a professor to make sure you do good, like office hours, tutoring and good notes and lectures.
Do the readings before the beginning lecture of the week. Go to the action centers. Sometimes he curves the grades. He is an amazing teacher, by far my favorite. TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor with great lectures. The class itself is challenging, but Dr. Lee is very easy-going and so likable that he is able to make the class interesting and a little less stressful. He is also very willing to help students, whether it be in his office hours or in action tutoring. Highly recommend going to action tutoring
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor who cares for his students. His lectures can be difficult to understand at times but if you attend action tutoring or office hours he will sit down with you until you understand the information. He takes the time to learn about his students who come in to tutoring and office hours making sure they succeed.
Dr. Lee's class is hand down the best class. It's a class you definitely have to work in, but it is so rewarding. Lectures are interesting and Dr. Lee is always available to help. GO to action center, it helps SO much!
Very interesting professor that makes complicated material very clear. Makes lectures fun and interesting for a very basic class.
Dr. Lee is a well respected and great guy. He goes at a nice pace and is always willing to help you. He wants you to ask for help and come and talk to him. The tests are difficult. Go to action center!!!!! He is the easier of the two zo professors.
Dr. Lee gives great and entertaining lectures, but you definitely have to put in the work outside of class.
Definitely best professor for Zo. Not an easy A though, you really have to work for it. Take the time to get to know him, go to action tutoring, go to his office hours. They are there for you to. Be able to teach the material to others and you will succeed. He is such a nice guy and wants you to succeed, but you have to earn it. Super interesting.
The course itself is difficult regardless of the prof, but Dr. Lee does his best to make the class understandable for all of his students. Prepare for pretty fast pace lectures (do your learnsmarts ahead of time) and clicker questions that total up to an exam grade. Show up and study outside of class and you'll be golden.
Dr. Lee has been one of my favorite professors. While this class is time consuming, he makes it enjoyable. He is willing to help you out outside of class as well as the Action Tutoring Centers. He really does want his students to perform well.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken and I felt like I had no help. Lectures were often very fast and had to learn so many different concepts and chapters at a very fast rate. I often went to action tutoring where he would laugh at students for not understanding. This class made my semester awful.
Amazing lecturer. Clicker quizzes every day but plenty chance to make up lost points. Online hwrks are a drag but do help; there is a lot to learn and his exams are difficult, but he posts practice exams online for every unit, which are very much like the actual exams. Study a few days out (exp practice exams) and this class is an easy A or B.
Dr. Lee was a great teacher. I didn't have a good high school science background and was nervous going into this class but he made it very easy. It's definitely one you have to try for but he is super helpful after class and takes notice when you put in the effort and do good.
GREAT PROFESSOR!! You have to attend lectures in order to know what's going on and to pass. There are many clicker questions throughout the course that WILL improve your grade if you max them out. Action Tutoring is available and Dr. Lee attends most of them, and its a great way to get a more in depth explanation and prepare for exams/case studies.
I loved Dr. Lee. I went to the action centers so he actually knew who I was. He was very helpful and his lectures are far less boring than most. Tough class, but definitely feasible to get an A or B (I got an 89% :/). Was disappointed in my final grade but he did a great job.
Biology is not easy at all, but Lee makes biology so much easier. His lectures are pretty straight forward with lot of visuals on his slides, which I need. I recommend going to action centers which helped me a lot! You will get a good grade only if you put in the work.
Goes quickly in lectures so if youre not paying attention youll miss something important. Hes very approachable, funny and nice. Hes very willing to help and gives a lot more study/practice materials than other professors who teach the same course.
Great teacher, but lots of material is covered. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are a lot of in class questions.
This is a really tough course, but if you put the effort in and are determined to pass then this class is an easy A or B. Lectures are very fast. In class dont write everything down thats given on the lecture slides. Dr. Lee posts those slides the day before lecture so its best that you copy those before lecture instead of during.
Dr. Lee is a really great professor. His lectures were very well detailed and he is detailed when answering questions from the class. It is a hard course but there are many tutoring opportunities that should be taken advantaged of! He is a really great and funny professor and makes biology not feel so bad.
Dr. Lee is willing to get to know all of his students and wants all of them to be successful. If you go to lecture prepared you will make the most out of it. Overall not terribly hard.
Dr. Lee is a great lecturer given the difficulty of the class. Attendance is not mandatory, but you lose points on clicker questions if you do not go. There are usually a couple of learnsmarts and a quiz due every week. The class itself can be challenging, stay ahead on studying and do not cram! It was a new class so somewhat disorganized at times.
I took Dr. Lee when they made Bio1124. You had to show up to class because there were clicker questions. Final was really hard but as long as you do well on the exams before, you have room fro failure. GO TO ACTION CENTER!!! there are assignments throughout the week but its not that bad. really great proffessor that other students show up to his!
The information is hard but Dr. Lee gives you all the tools to succeed and learn it. Go to class for clicker points. Find a group of 3-4 for case studies early on. Go to the study nights before exams and fill out packet, I made 86+ on all my exams and this helped. Take notes during class, if you miss a day you will be very confused. Best lecturer.
Dr. Lee's lectures were detailed and explained well. He always took time in lecture to answer questions. If you didnt understand There were Action centers wiht worksheets to help you. I loved loved loved learning in this class.
Dr. Lee had some of the best lectures (there's just something about Dale 200) and he is very engaging. Clicker points count toward the final grade, and case studies happen about every week an a half so attending lecture is a must. The homework is easy and as long as you have been paying attention the tests should be too because it is all conceptual
You show up, and do clicker you will be fine. You get out what you put in. You go to tutorials, your grade will reflex!! They are offered twice a week! The past tests has very similar questions, so really good study tool!! He is really funny, and does pop quizzes everyday, but makes them fun!
Dr. Lee was an amazing teacher and really remembers his students especially if you go to Action Tutoring. His class was not that hard, but if you understand the topics and work hard it will be an easy A. His lectures are fun, engaging, and his slides are wonderful to look over before a test. Lectures are not mandatory, but there are clicker points.
Dr. Lee gives really good lectures. The material is explained in depth. Exams are straight forward if you pay attention and study. You must show up to class for clicker questions. He is available outside of class which is great. He has a nice personality.
A KING among kings. Professor Lee does a great job of teaching the course material to his students. Lectures go in-depth and are well explained. When classes went online he made sure to accommodate (curve on final exam, dropping low grades, & changing the weight of certain assignments). Ugh a true legend, peordit poh!!!
I wanted to like him. I was really disappointed when I got an 89.63. I went to Action Center, had a tutor, and took advantage of all the extra credit opportunities. He had no mercy for a completely new class with a new syllabus. A little leniency would have been nice since the professors will still figuring out how to best orchestrate the class.
Dr. Lee is a fantastic professor, hands down. I was really nervous reading the reviews since people said it was a hard class, but bottom line is: pay attention & take notes during lecture, go to action center tutoring, and try your best. He's very good about explaining and answering all questions. Go in with a good attitude and you'll love class!
Dr. Lee is an amazing teacher. Even with his course being online this semester, his lectures are clear and concise and he's always open to taking questions. He has a great attitude and you can tell he cares about his students. The class is definitely not easy, but if you take notes during lecture and use the resources given to you, you'll do fine.
By far the best Bio professor at the University. You really have to put in the effort for this class in general, but Dr. Lee is SO intelligent and goes into detail while explaining. He also makes the class interesting!!
Absolutely amazing professor. Very kind and caring towards his students. Lectures and notes are a must. He makes the class as easy as possible without handing you an A. He gives enough extra credit to raise your grade probably an entire letter, SO TAKE ADVANTAGE!
Dr Lee is great! He is very personable and easy to approach with questions. Through the pandemic he has been wonderful in assuring everyone is understanding and has the proper resources available to learn. The course itself can be tough but his lectures are amazing. 10/10 recommend!
Professor Lee is an amazing teacher. The content is hard, but he makes the material interesting. I took his blended class, and attending the zooms was mandatory. You have so many assignments and some bonus opportunity so as long as you do the work you will pass.
Dr. Lee is AMAZING! I had him for my intro to biology class and absolutely loved it!! It had lectures on Zoom, and assignments through Canvas. Dr. Lee has been so understanding through the pandemic. The class is pretty difficult, but Dr. Lee makes it so enjoyable. The exams are hard, but he offers lots of extra credit. Ask him about his dogs please
Dr. Lee is awesome. He's patient, tolerant, and not easily flustered by students' dumb questions. His teaching style is relaxed and easy to follow. He's clearly interested in what he's teaching and gives plenty of opportunities to get a good grade. Most importantly, he inspires continued interest in the subject. I wish he taught mores course.
Really good Prof. Wants you to do well and really cares about his students. Definitely take this prof.
Dr Lee is amazing I wish all my bio classes could be taught by him. Never makes you feel dumb when you ask a question, and makes sure you understand before moving on. He's also really funny and has adorable dogs that he showed us on zoom.
Professor Lee was the most amazing professor I've had at OU! Such an amazing and thoughtful teacher. He really helped me when I was struggling and is a very thorough professor! You're in amazing hands if you take his class!!
Dr Lee is the best! He is so helpful, wants you to succeed, and is available to get help! GO TO OFFICE HOURS! This class has hard tests, but you learn how to take them. Go to office hours if you don't understand something. It helps a ton. Study hard and in advance and you will do great! Good Luck!
I've really enjoyed Dr. Lee. He makes everything super easy to understand. It is a little difficult to reach him because it's such a large class but he does his best.(My section had 300+ students) Reaching out to your TAs or PLAs is usually easier than reaching him directly. He uses tophat for zoom classes which is very helpful and engaging.
Lots of extra credit. Clear lectures. Easy homework and quizzes. Tests just like quizzes.
The class overall was pretty good, used my textbook a lot and his lectures were alright. Nothing special, the TA was the absolute worst and I wish Professor Lee would have taken accountability for that. While he was a good professor, he wasn't a great person, wasn't empathetic at all. Refused to round my 89.78 up and gave me a B for the semester.
Dr. Lee is the best of the best. He's incredibly intelligent and gives wonderful and engaging lectures. Bio is a difficult class but he does as much as he can to offer extra credit, drop low grades, and replace low exam scores. Go to lecture, ask questions, and stay up to date on the readings and you'll be good to go!
It was a super hard class but he made lectures at least enjoyable to get through.
Dr. Lee offers very little extra credit and makes his practice exams nowhere near the actual exam. He refused to give a practice exam for the final. He also puts things on exams that were never discussed in class or on the homework. He also grades harshly on Case Studies good look getting a 10/10. Dr. Lee is nice, but I do not recommend him.
I did awful on the first exam and was still able to finish with an A. I enjoyed the lectures because the T.A.s were actually knowledgeable/helpful when needed. If you go to lecture, pay attention, and participate you will be more likely to do better. Tests are all true or false / multiple choice which is awesome, but, they're only 25 questions.
Best professor ever. You will have to put in work to get good grades. Dr. Lee is so intelligent and passionate about his job. He helps by not giving you the answer but making you work to understand it. He will make an effort to remember you by name if you show that you care about the class. Go to office hours!! It's intimidating but so worth it.
I loved Professor Lee so much! While his class was hard and you definitely had to work for a good grade, he was entertaining and was able to engage with the class and he gives great lectures. He also frequently responds to emails and is very accessible outside of class!
Overall Great Guy
I love Dr. Lee so much! His biology class is obviously hard because no bio course is easy but he makes it interesting. Definitely need to study. Go to the study nights!!! Hes funny and I would 100% take him again. Very knowledgeable and cares a lot about his students. 4 big exams, several unit quizzes online, Case studys, tophat, & smartbooks
I don't reccommend him at all, he gave me a B with 89.83 :), and I had told him that y smartbook had technical issue and that's why I missed one. not fair at all
A great, smart, educational instructor. Classes are HARD though with LOTS of homework and studying. He does have very great, well- thought out lectures though. I did not do well in this class as I am not good at science but I can appreciate a smart, passionate instructor.
He is a nice person, hes just so hard. He goes through lectures at a very fast pace. He does offer office hours and he very passionate about helping students understand the material, its just a hard class.
Pros: Teaching 10/10- If you go to his lectures an pay attention the class will not be super hard. Has good office hours. Practice exams are like the exams. Has a sense of humor. Cons: There could be more extra credit. Does not round grade to an A. Example . 89.95 will not be an A. Case studies are stressful.
HE IS THE BEST BIOLOGY PROFESSOR!!! he cares so much and will go over each exam with you and help you. take good notes and study and you will be fine. He is the best bio professor.
Dr. Lee is a good professor by all means I could have gotten an A in the class if I just studied. If you're taking his class use office hours.
Find a solid group for the case studies. Part of your grade is from the TopHat pop quizzes so try not to miss class. The TA study sessions were extremely useful. Make use of office hours-- you can review past exams. The exam is application-based, definitions alone won't help you. The lectures were fun and interesting! Easily my favorite class.
Professor Lee is a great professor. He cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. Start meeting people on the first day because you have to pick a group for case study which is a big part of your grade. Go to biology action tutoring and try not to miss class, each lecture is worth points.
Dr. Lee is a good teacher, but his lectures are fast. This class is very hard but there's no getting around it. Go to the lectures! They're very helpful & there's a lot of practice. Your case study group will mostly stay the same all semester so be careful who you pick because having a bad group sucks. Go to office hours before & after tests!!
Nice professor but doesn't really teach; expects you to teach yourself before class. Be very wary of who you pick for your case study group, as it counts significantly!
Dr. Lee is a very nice person, but sometimes he can go too quickly over the material if no one is asking questions. If I had not already taken AP Bio, then the class would have been much harder. We have a textbook but no one reads it. For tests make sure to review practice questions and practice the big concepts he says in class and you'll be fine.
Dr.Lee is a great professor and truly cares about his students. Make sure to come to class so you can get your TopHat points (they help your grade!) The lectures go fast, but he does a good job of making sure we understand the materials. During office hours, he is very helpful and personable, so I would definitely go!
Incredible teacher. If you take the notes, do the tophat questions, pay attention, and STUDY you will do well in his class. He's super easy to reach and is great at making time for students who have questions. Use his office hours!!! I did not use the physical textbook once, the online textbook definitely is all you need.
Lectures will usually explain everything you need to know for the exams. In-class participation is required and graded. Uses Proctorio for exams, which is controversial. Labs are very organized and graded fairly. Exams are fairly easy if you go to the lectures and understand the concepts.
Dr. Lee was a great teacher. The tests can be difficult, if you do not study or go to class. If you prepare for the test you will be fine. There is 1% extra credit that is added to the total of your grade at the end of the semester. Dr. Lee is a great teacher and he makes the class interesting. I would definitely recommend to take biology with him.
LOVE love Dr. Lee! The class is difficult and the exams are all critical thinking questions and open note, so you need to know what's going on in the class. Going to his office hours was what boosted my grade the most; he is always happy and ready to help! Case studies are a big part of your grade, so make sure you are with smart people haha
Dr. Lee was awesome. I would say for anyone taking the lectures that you need to do the hand outs and if you want the best grade possible go to the study sessions.
Dr. Lee is the best professor I have had at OU. He is so caring and really wants you to learn. The key to making a good grade is to study the worksheets given in class, go to office hours and study nights, and get a good case study group! This class challenged me, but in a good way.
Dr. Lee was a great professor, I could barely tell that I was in a lecture hall with 300 other people. The TAs are the ones that do all of the gradin. The tests are hard, but making sure that you study and go to study nights will definitely help. Everything that is graded is laid out at the beginning of the semester, so it's easy to keep on track.
This was a tough class, and I worked hard to keep an A, however, Lee was a great professor and made lectures interesting. He also gave out supplemental handouts, assignments, etc to help with learning. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I'd go to lectures because they're very important for exams, plus there are TopHat questions that are for a grade.
amazing lectures and very attentive to students. attendance isnt required but its best to not skip since exams are often lecture-based, theres tophat quizzes, and case studies. dr. lee's amazing at teaching and makes material very easy to understand. exams apply critical thinking and practice exams are your best friend. highly suggest bio w him!
Dr. Lee is a very caring professor and amazing lecturer. This class is an easy pass if you attend lectures, ask questions, and go to action centers every now and then. Definitely reccomend taking Lee for the lecture portion as he explains things much clearer than the other professors.
Lee is a great lecturer! The exams are multiple choice and open note. Case studies are challenging especially when you have a bad group, but if you do well on the final it shouldn't affect your chances of getting an A. Not much homework and the content is easy. Go to office hours for exam/case study help. Very nice and witty, tophat is used a lot.
Dr. Lee gave really good and detailed lectures! During class, he was very engaging and very helpful especially when you ask for help. He has really good TA's which were very helpful and simplified a lot of the material. One thing to be aware of is that the exams and case studies are more applying the knowledge and problem solving.
Dr. Lee and his TAs all want their students to do well and provide office hours & some extra credit during the semester, SO MAKE SURE TO DO IT! Come to class is important and prior experience with biology is also really helpful to pass and do well. Make friends who care about their grades because when you do Case Studies, they'll come in handy!
Good class
Dr. Lee's class is challenging but rewarding. Attend lectures, use the textbook, and take advantage of office hours - it really pays off. I found Unstuck AI and ChatGPT helpful for studying as well. Overall, a great course if you're willing to put in the work.
He's okay, but the class is set up awful. The exams are scenario based but easy to second guess yourself, no matter how much I studied and looked at my notes the highest I scored was a 74%. Take bio elsewhere I got an A in chemistry, but a B in bio when I even understood the material. Case studies suck had a 89.88 before final and ended with a 86.
Great professor who cares about helping students.
Dr. Lee is very engaging during lectures. 10/10 would learn bio from him again because of the way that he explained concepts. He explains concepts in ways that are easier to grasp, as well as utilizing humor. I met with him outside of class and he was very patient and accommodating. He really shows effort to make personal connections with us.
This class can be difficult, but the material is very interesting and Dr. Lee makes the content approachable! He was great at explaining the material. Office hours were very helpful and encouraging. Test and Case studies are application heavy and require a deep understanding! I enjoyed this class and would highly recommend Dr. Lee!!
