Eric Legge is a beauty. He always asks students for feedback on exams and will make improvments for the next one. His tests consist of multiple choice, fill in the blanks, and long answer. The latter two he allows you to chose a specific number of questions you're comfprtable with answering. the class averages for both midterms were about 75%
Awesome Prof, truly cares about his students feedback. Very clear in his expectations and assignments. Test are very straight forward, if you show up to class and read his slides you will have no problem.
Best prof, actually cares about students. After first mid term, grades were below expectation so on the next one he made it a bit easier. If you listen to him in lecture you should get free marks from top hat. (10% i think) Exams are based on lecture and some exclusive textbook question, but are really straight forward and easy. Funny guy too
Eric is incredibly laid back and approachable. I never felt alienated or nervous about participating, and he never made me feel like my questions were stupid. Some of the drier concepts were made better by his humour. Top Hats were very helpful for midterm content and helped to gauge how I was doing in terms of grasping content. Recommended.
Best Psych teacher I've ever had, super funny, and enjoys what he does. Tests were very reasonable and fair and does a good job in preparing you for the exams. Notes were well organised and overall made the class a very intriguing and memorable. *thumbs up*
Great instructor! Notes were really clear and full of content. Textbook is still recommended if you want an A but you could definitely do well without it. He gives LOADS of examples in class that really make the concepts memorable. Tests were a breeze, he gives you options on the short answer which really helps.
Wonderful teacher. His notes and lectures are easy to follow and his test are straight forward. If any questions came up he would go over it again the next day with new examples. Attendence is somewhat mandatory because he uses Top hat quizzes thoughout the lecturez bit they arent worth mich indivudually.
An amazing professor, found his class very interesting. Fair marking. You've to read the book well enough. Always has weird questions at the end of every exam, but meh, gives you extra marks so it's all cool. Funny guy, tried to make the topic interesting. Loves Spotify as background while waiting for online-quiz's response.
Eric is a wonderful professor! Lectures are clear and engaging, and the text follows the content nicely which makes for easy studying. Exams are a bit of a challenge, but fairly easy overall. The content of this course is great, and Eric keeps everyone interested in the practical uses of the material.
He is a great prof. If you ever take him you will definitely have an interesting and easy class. He does a great job at making clear expectations and has lots of interesting stories and experiences.
Great Prof, tells you exactly what's covered on exams. His examples are super clear and exams are pretty easy, definitely recommend him him for any psych course. He's pretty funny too which makes the 8 am lectures not so bad.
Dr. Legge is an awesome prof! He really made 8am classes enjoyable. He posts midterm reviews which are extremely helpful to his exams. I highly recommend him!
Read the textbook before the exams if you don't go to class. He goes into specifics in class and missing any puts you behind if you don't read the text book or research it. Crash Course PSYC was very helpful for studying for the exams.
Eric is hilarious! You'll be happy to be in his class! (even at 8am)
Eric is one of my favorite profs at MacEwan. I took another class with him because I enjoyed him so much. He is very clear with his explanations, thorough, and tests and assignments/essays are easy. Plus he loves to crack jokes, there was never a dry class. I would highly recommend him.
Eric is one of the best psych profs at macewan. He covers much of the material that will be tested in class. However, I still suggest reading the textbook for some of the experiments discussed. He assigned one paper and was a fair marker. Overall, I highly recommend taking any classes with Eric.
Eric is one of my favourite professors. Very passionate about psychology and his lectures are never dry. He's also helpful and caring, genuinely wants you to succeed in his class. As long as you show up for class and keep up with reading your textbook, the course is not difficult. He marks fairly and outlines clearly what will be on exams.
Eric is a great Prof. Very funny and personable. He is so passionate about what he does. His lectures aren't mandatory but make sure you have the textbook, as the assignments online have questions on material not covered in class. The textbook is a must for this class. Overall an amazing prof. Fair midterms and fair online assignments
Eric is easily oneh of the best professors I have had so far! His grading criteria is very clear. His lectures are interesting and funny (cartoon slides & funny videos). His love for psychology definitely makes me love psychology even more. Would totally recommend!!
Eric is so passionate about psychology, it's apparent in his lectures and is infectious. He posts lecture slides on BB, but often gives examples of or explains things better in class. The textbook is needed for online assignments, and there is usually one question on exams you need the text for. Lots of content, but study and you'll do very well.
Loved Eric! He shows true passion for the material and really knows his stuff and clearly cares if his students are understanding what he is teaching. There was one paper that was a breeze. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. He uses real-like examples to help students understand the concepts. Would defiantly take another psych course with him!
Had him for 281 and 258; lectures were easy to understand, was clearly passionate about the class material, and easy to talk to outside of class. As an honor's student, how he presented himself and the lectures he taught helped steer me in the path I chose in the field of psychology. Highly recommend taking him.
Eric is awesome to listen to. He's genuinely excited and passionate about psych. The class was big so I never got to talk to him one on one but he is a great prof for bigger classes. short answers on exams were hard and the course has too much info for entry level psych but Eric is a great prof, sounds like he has a funny U.S. accent that I loved
Eric is an awesome prof! Although Psych 104 was mostly online this semester I had no issues going to him for any clarification on something I wasn't sure about. He is very funny and also very passionate about psych! I definitely recommend him
Take his class!! Had him for 258 and 281 and he made both courses enjoyable. Very passionate about the material and always willing to help during office hours. Be sure to do his practice tests too! Best prof.
Dr Legge is outstanding!! If you ever have the opportunity to have him I guarantee you won't regret it. He is super passionate and makes lectures enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend!!
Honestly best prof ever!!! very easy to talk to, fair exams, willing to give extra marks on a midterm if you talk to him. His class averages are always high in the 80s, wish I could take every psych class with him.
Eric was awesome. He's pretty funny and while his lectures aren't mandatory, I enjoyed them. He goes over the material that's in the textbooks but expands on it and gives more relevant examples. His exams are straightforward and he does quizzes on almost every chapter. I'd definitely take another class with him.
Psych104 is a hybrid course, so you go to class once a week to do a group activity (which is for marks) and then take quizzes online. He makes the once a week class interesting, and is available to asks questions. You basically teach yourself all of the content because it's hybrid, but he was a good, clear prof to have.
Eric is a great prof! Lectures can be dry at times, but he does his best to make topics interesting, I mean how do you make conditioning fun? Still they were great lectures, I learned great things which can be applied irl, I used it to train my dog, it works! His exams are straightforward, there were 2 midterms, a paper, quizzes, and a final
despite psych 104 being a dumb hybrid course (you pay to teach yourself online) Professor Legge was still a great professor. when we had class he strived to make things clear and understandable. he was helpful during group activities and made sure that we knew what we had to do. it's not his fault that the hybrid course is awful. would take again.
He's very nice and understanding. You need to be involved because every class you have to do an activity in groups. The midterm and final are really straightforward and fair and, the questions come from the quizzes. Since the class is only once a week you need to learn straight from the textbook.
Well other than the fact that the course is a hybrid and you pretty much need to teach yourself the whole course because 50 minutes a week is not enough. Eric is an amazing prof that does care for his students and gives you feedback and tries to prepare you for exams as much as possible with his online resources. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK!
Super nice guy! He is really passionate about what he is teaching and it shows.
Overall, Eric is a great prof. The course is mostly online so you don't actually learn too much from the actual lecture component. With that said, it doesn't really matter who your professor is for this class but I would recommend Eric if he is an option for you.
Eric is an amazing prof! He made learning and behaviour really enjoyable. His tests are straightforward and he sets you up for success. Attend his lectures because his examples/side comments often show up on exams. Keeps things humorous. Two midterms, a final, chapter quizzes, and a reflection paper (applying concepts to life events).
Eric Legge is such a great professor. So funny in class and his exams and tests are totally fair. He is very knowledgeable and passionate and able to use fun examples to help learning. Definitely recommend him.
Dr. Legge is a nice guy who made the best out of a situation that isn't ideal for learning. The class is structured so there's one class a week with a brief lecture of important things and an activity - bring a friend if you're taking Psych 104/105 at MacEwan. Dr Legge was approachable and always checked in to see if we needed help in activities.
Eric is a phenomenal prof. His lectures are clear and really wants you to succeed. He is hilarious, and explains topics in a way that are understandable and if still not understood, he tries to explain in a different way. Interesting class and really made me think about effective study techniques, which I will take with me for future courses!
Psych itself was a boring class, one lecture a week, teaching yourself the materials. Eric himself was a nice guy, funny, and made class interesting but the way that the class is run needs to be changed. I didn't pay money to teach myself an entire class.
His lectures are basically a repeat of the textbook chapters you have to read before class so they can get boring. You do have to show up for the mini quiz that happens during every class but he makes the activities fun and engaging. He's a decent teacher - I think if I had him in a different course I would love his teaching style a lot more.
He is very nice and approachable, lectures are not heavy at all, and as long as you study you are good.
Eric is one of the best psychology professors! His lectures occasionally were dry, but things can't always be super interesting in life. His exams were totally fair and had no surprises and he only tests from the textbook a little bit. If you don't read it, it won't impact your grade much. His exams have no short answers which was awesome!!
Eric was always super nice and very responsive via email. The assignments were marked easy and your grade was spread out amongst different things so one bad mark won't kill you. The material is very heavy and there's a lot to remember but it is also very applicable which is cool. Would definitely take another class with Eric!
I really liked his class, he was interesting and was really helpful when needed. There were in class activities so going to those classes is necessary to pass but they are scheduled and known ahead of time. He is really cares about what he teaches and will answer all your questions and is good about explaining things differently if you don't get it
I liked Eric, but I feel like he never pushed for his students to visit him during office hours for help like other profs. The class is a hybrid course so I dont think the professor really matters, I found it odd how TAs would mark your exams and were the only source of help- and they were absolutely useless. Mediocre at best. Sorry.
Really good prof and he always tries to make the lectures and activities interesting and insightful. Would for sure take his class again
Eric is such a great prof. He's very passionate about what he teaches. The material heavy and there is lots of memorization although he makes lectures interesting and ties concepts to real-life. 2 midterms, 1 reflection paper, weekly quizzes and a final. Fair exams and fair marker. I definitely recommend taking him if you can!
such a good prof! This is the first time PSYC351 has been offered but i thought it was great. The course is VERY heavy and you need to attend lecture as there is no TB and its complex, but its super interesting. There is a research paper, midterm, group project, final and evaluations but Eric is a super easy marker and always available to help.
With PSYC104 being a hybrid class, rating a prof is tough. He was very clear in his lectures and went over the most important material. The quizzes were confusing at times but he was very fair with the course overall.
He's a solid choice. He follows the textbook closely so don't think you NEED it (never even opened it). To succeed in his class ATTEND and write additional notes on his slides. Some things were hard to understand when I skipped with just the info on his slides HE EXPLAINS SO WELL! Overall easy A. Tests on his slides + what he says.
It was a hybrid course, but during the lectures he explained things clearly and in an interesting way. Overall it's a pretty basic course with information that is easy to grasp. Make sure to attend classes because there is a small activity at the end of each.
I have had Eric for psych 258 and 281 and he is by far the best prof Ive had in my 4 years at macewan. Great guy. Makes lectures and school so enjoyable.
I had Eric for both 258 and 281 this semester. He is a very solid choice, clear grading rubric and his exams are very fair if you study which I myself barely did. I recommend this guy for anyone who is taking psyc.
Dr legge was alright for a hybrid class. It was difficult to get ahold of him through email, and lectures were always posted late. He did however engage us with other topics within the course through the weekly assignments.
Really engaging lecturer who cares about the content. The course as a whole is relatively difficult at times but he makes it manageable. sweet man 10/10
Chose to take an online asynchronous class with him as the reviews on here were amazing. However, he refuses to teach. He suggests you read the chapter and then write the quizzes; there are no videos available on meskanas. Being an online course, he still expects us to write the exam in person midterm and the final. Awful experience, a waste truly.
I enrolled in his online asynchronous class since Eric has good reviews and I was completely disappointed. Clearly stated HAVE to purchase new edition textbook since written questions will be on the exams, doesn't provide lecture videos, takes a week to reply to emails, wasted my tuition fee on this class could have chosen another psych class
This professor offered minimal instruction, primarily expecting us to learn from the textbook and study independently. Despite high expectations based on his reviews, I discovered the class to be unexpectedly challenging and time-intensive. I thought he would at least post-pre-made lecture videos or slides. I didn't think it was full-on self study
I find this prof to be a little lazy given that he doesn't post any lecture videos, powerpoint slides, or even a study guide. He's probably the first async professor i've had who hasn't done at least one of the three I mentioned above. You're completely by yourself. It was a waste of tuition fee.
I LOVED this class. Everything on the midterm was taught, and he even gave short answer questions that appeared on it. His rubric for the paper was also super precise. Not to mention, he is always super helpful if you go to his office hours. I thought this class would drop my GPA, but if you attend class, you will do great. 10/10 would recommend.
Do not take this online class. There are no PowerPoints, no lecture videos and no assignments so your whole grade is passed off of a couple tests a midterm and a final. Be prepared to teach yourself.
Great professor and I really enjoyed this class. It is VERY dense with a lot of terminology etc, BUT his lectures are super interesting and even if you miss class, everything is posted for you to catch up. Would 100% recommend him to anyone wanting or needing a psych104 class.
Expected to like this professor, but I was unpleasantly surprised. He is kind & very passionate about psych, but if you're taking this as a GPA booster I HIGHLY recommend taking it with a different prof. He goes into tons of detail for every concept, and on the midterms you have to know ALL of it. Other psych profs are much easier. NOT an easy A.
Don't take him if you want an A or A+. Hard exams and lots of content for an introductory class. His study guides are not helpful and he tests on things that weren't in the study guide. He gave us the study guide for the final only a week in advance, which wasn't helpful since the final is cumulative, only graded by 3 exams.
Was my first professor going into uni and was a pleasant experience. Honestly as long as you re-read your notes, use quizlet cards for memorization and just pay attention you'll do fine. Just a lot of terms to learn, but that's up my alley so I didn't mind.
Very entertaining and engaging, definitely cares about what he teaches and brings in many real world examples to back up concepts. He's usually able to talk after lecture, but also very accessible during office hours. The exams are a mix of mc and short answer, but he gives the option to choose, for example 3/5 short answer to complete.
A lot of note taking and textbook reading but otherwise a good prof that uses great examples to demonstrate ideas.
i had him for winter term and he was absolutely amazing! he gave plenty of examples that helped me get a thorough understanding of many concepts. i never hesitated to ask him questions. his exams were easy. just know that having a textbook handy is the best idea if you're not regular in attending his lectures
I loveed him and his way of teaching was very clear. The slides were so fun and they were posted. Exams were easy as well. Take him if you can!
cool guy, went through slides that were posted during class. gave study guides for each midterm and the final as well. he used real life examples to further explain what he was teaching which was interesting and helped with learning the information.
This Prof was very knowledgeable and very fun to learn from. Tests were great and you get a study guide before every test. Lectures were awesome. Easy to talk with. No projects or assignments. Awesome class! Would recommend!
Really thorough during lectures and has lots of examples that are helpful. He's funny and tries to relate to the students and makes jokes. Really lecture heavy but posts presentations online. 3 non-cumulative exams make up the whole grade with 6% participation marks so make sure you study. Review material is thorough and helpful.
Unfortunately, I had to retake this class for the second time after doing poorly. Honestly, both experiences have been highly frustrating. The professor doesn't teach anything; you purely learn from the textbook, and everything is online except three midterms, but he gives 0 review guides for any of them.
LOVE HIM! Took Psych104 with him and Chris Streimer, couldn't recommend it more! Take this class you wont regret it. Straight forward, GPA booster. Graded only on 3 midterms and research participation (online or in person you choose). All slides posted online and creates study guides for each midterm. 1000/10
Eric is a great prof! I took his class with Prof. Chris Streimer, and it was terrific. I loved the lectures, they were great at answering questions and at providing examples. Would recommend!
Took this class with him and Dr. Striemer and both draw students in easily with their humour. The slides provided are detailed and straightforward, however there are a lot of them so you must review as often as everyday to do really good on the exams. The exams are pretty easy if you know the content well. Highly recommend taking this class.
When I first heard Dr. Legge lecture, my jaw dropped in amazement at his teaching ability. His PowerPoint presentations are thoughtfully composed, he never gets sidetracked, he does an excellent job unpacking complex concepts, and he engages the class wonderfully. He's also very personable--I had great discussions with him during his office hours.
Literally such an easy class, most of the tests were based off the textbook, but slides were useful as well. I work full time so I wasn't able to make it to all the classes but towards the end of the term I was still maintaining an A+ because everything Is provided to you as well as a lengthy study guide. The slides do have a a lot of information.
avoid class at all costs, unless you want to teach yourself everything. This was supposed to be an online course but he had all of the exams mandatory in person. Overall do not recommend.
You have to teach yourself all the material. He does nothing.
Perfect class for those who love to learn and want to apply it to their field. It's all about understanding, not memorizing. I watched lectures and then read the textbook while making flashcards. The prof gives hints for short answers, and the textbook feels like chatting with a friend. A great self-study online course!
Exam heavy, nit-picky and difficult to understand. No study guides, lecture slides are minimal and don't help. You're expected to remember the entire textbook. It was overwhelming and doesn't feel like you're being set up for success. The rating seems to be boosted from him which is unfair when wanting honest feedback in choosing your classes.
This course is self-directed, but it's by no means difficult. The textbook is your teacher, and it's an exceptionally good one. Just read it and take notes as you go. That said, class averages were quite low and Dr. Legge was absent (neglectfully so), which doesn't seem to bode well for most. If you're self-sufficient, though, you'll excel.
