Very cool, funny, knows his stuff, teaches impossible literature in understandable way. Extremely helpful with papers, fair grader.
Very helpful; teaches difficult subjects but does it in a clear & interesting (& often humorous) way; very smart but not pretentious; you'll have to work, but you'll learn a lot in his classes!
Very good teacher!

He's ridiculously good looking.
I have him for Brit Lit which shouldn't be an easy class, but with such an easy going and witty professor - its my highest grade and most fun class.
Two papers, easy finals, only four quizzes (of five simple questions). As long as you do the reading (or use cliff notes), you're all set. Very nice, easy grader.
Awesome teacher, very through, willing to help any student with anything.
fair grader, knows what he is talkin about, good teacher, always offers help
does not bend an inch on deadlines... even with a doctors note! GO TO CLASS!!!

Great guy. I'm taking him now again because i like him so much for brit lit. He is interesting, and extremely intelligent. One of my favorite teachers and people at CCSU. I reccomend him highly .. and if he wasn't married .. heehee .. well anyway.

Love this guy! Intriguing and passionate about teaching. Definitely would take him again.
a really great professor. if you're cynical you'll probably love him. although he can come across as sort of condescending at first, its with good intetions to get you to work to full potential. PLUS he has a great working knowledge of early punk rock.

His classes are very interesting and informational. He is very clear and has no problems repeating himself if needed. Very enthusiastic about the topic and as long as you go to class you should do well. Takes attendance every day and gives reading quizzes. Testa are straight from the notes.
Dr. Leonidas is tough but fair. He has helped my academic career tremendously by providing good feedback and challenging me to be my best. The fact that he is a very sexy boy made class way interesting, too.
Hello Hotty! First Impression:intimidating. Then WOW! Although Milton is as dry as is gets, Professor Leonidas trys to make it a little more interesting.Nobody warned me about his adorable smile that comes out when he speaks about this subject. He is really enthusiastic when it comes to his literature. He also gives a lot of help when you need it.
What a teacher! Not only is he hot, but he's brilliant and extremely eloquent! He really delves into the interpretations of the material. He makes Shakespeare fascinating. He can be a little intimidating because he's so smart. Definately one of the best professors at this school!
Nice guy. Makes tough plays interesting. Smart. Id definitely take him again.
Very smart, funny, and interesting teacher. I learned a lot and enjoyed every class. If you get the chance, take him!!
very good professor, really takes an interest in making sure students understand what is happening in class...only problem is all the chicks in the class are infatuated with him, makes it hard for a dude to make his move
I hate lit and have read less than 10 books in my life, yet i enjoyed this class. he goes over everything well, reading assignments are not too much, provides info for exams, easy grader if he knows you have read most of the material. Great Prof!
There are no test for the English Ren. class but there are 4 papers and an oral presentation to do instead. He is a nice guy and an overall easy grader BUT the class is not easy.
I didn't think he was "HOTT!!" but i thought he was a really good professor. I hated him the first time I had him, but by the second time I found him to be helpful, intelligent and a good professor overall. He's tough, but his expectations are completely reasonable. You learn how to make stronger arguments and understand literature better.
He's a cool guy. He talks a lot, but welcomes students' input and he's def. interested in the material. The class is moderately difficult, but not unreasonable by any means. I'd recommend him.
He's a really good professor, he's super nice, and he tries to make everything as interesting as possible. He is a fair grader, and will make sure you know what he expects of you!
I know Shakespeare, what a drag... but he made this class one of my favorite. AMAZING! His outfits are great lol. Take this class easiest class yet!
Excellent professor! Very engaging, which makes the kind-of-tough class a lot easier. Explains everything with clarity, leads students to correct answers, makes readings exciting... Make sure you get help on your papers prior to turning them in; you'll be glad when you see the final grade. Very, very glad I took the class--learned a LOT.
Dr. Leonidas is the man! I almost fell out of my chair when i saw my grades on his papers, i just follwed his paper syllabus, and the GRADE spoke for itself. HE CRACKS ME UP, never a boring day with Leonidas!!!
Prof. Leonidas really is a great professor. Best I've had at CCSU so far! The discussions were always interesting and I actually looked forward to coming to class. Some people thought he was a tough grader, but honestly, if you just follow the format and guidlines he sets out, it's easy. His blogging assignments smacked of busy-work, though!
Prof. Leonidas is a great guy and an amazing professor! He is wicked smart so sometimes parts of his lectures fly over your head. Very helpful with papers and an extremely fair grader. You MUST attend class with this guy! Also, great outfits!
Leonidas is a great guy, by far the best professor i've had to date. His classes are always interesting and he really seems to appreciate the material he's teaching. He's a fair grader and gives excellent feedback on assignments as well.
Leonidas is a great professor he really cares about his students. He is a fair grader and fun to have a class with because he really enjoys the subject. I would recommend taking a class with him.
I wasn?t really into Shakespeare before taking this course, but I really got into the material and found Shakespeare to be an extremely fascinating author! this professor doesn?t do a whole lot of writing on the board because he pretty much talks the entire class, so it?s important to take notes even if he?s not writing on the board. Occasionally h
A tough grader, but fair. It's sometimes difficult to understand exactly what it is that he wants in a paper past the introduction. He uses a website that he designed and integrated for the classes he teaches- this site is tremendously helpful. Overall he is well-organized, easy to pay attention to and humorous. Recommended.
I needed an English class and took his and I blow at Shakespeare. I skipped alot and never payed attention and got a B+. Just do well in the midterm, final, paper and group project and ull b fine
I took Eng 298 w him last year. Not only is he handsome but he really knows what he's teaching, organized, knows what he wants from his students,a tough yet fair grader. As long as u do your best on your work,u will do well. Got a B+ Definitely recommend him
If your trying to get an easy A this is not the class. Though you do learn a lot, I wasnt that big of a fan of Shakespeare but throughout the class I learned 2 love his plays.I didnt do well in his class, while I am an A student otherwise. He is a great teacher never the less. But u must study and know the plays forwards&backwards if u want2do well
I had him for two courses this semester and I'm thinking about taking him for another ENG course next semester not only is he Hot and a great dresser he is passionate about what he does and it shows. You can't help but to be interested in the material as well. Great teacher, I think he's a good grader just do all of your work.
The best professor I've had at CCSU - he has high standards and he's not an easy grader, but he tells you exactly what he expects and he'll work with you on everything you need help with. He's really passionate about the subject and he's hot to boot.
Favorite professor I've had thus far. You can't get away with not doing your work, but with him, you want to do the homework and do it well. If you care at all about English (ie, it's your major) TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! he makes you think and it's not alway easy but it's always worth it
Professor Leonidas, or Eric as he liked to be called was an amazing teacher. I learned a lot in this class. My writing improved so much and so did my research skills. He is very understanding. Don't miss too many classes or you will fall behind quickly.
Made me love Shakespeare all over again. A great professor and one of my favorites in the entire English Department. Take this class, even if you're not an English major.
I never really read Shakespeare before this class and I loved it! He is really good at going over each play to help everyone understand the true meaning of the scenes. The quizzes are easy if you read and go to class. Definitely worth taking!
We made it through the Faerie Queen. This alone makes him amazing. Yes, he's easy on the eyes but that won't help you none. He makes you WORK for that grade...utilize office hours...he takes the time to help you. One of CCSU's many treasures.
Professor Leonidas is very intelligent. His class is not easy and you'll have to work for a good grade but you'll be a better student when you're done. He's tough but fair for sure
Professor Leonidas explains the true meanings of the plays well so you can understand the language. Quizzes and exams are easy. Tough grader on papers but I would recommend his class, it is fun and teaches you a lot.
TOUGH grader. Very critical. Not my fave. A play and literary conference was mandatory OUTSIDE of classroom time (one Saturday and one Friday). Doesn't give helpful feedback on essays. Heart of Darkness sucks! Poetry section is really drawn out and boring.
Thought this class would be pretty easy. Yup I was wrong. VERY tough grader and gives sucky feedback on papers. Barely passed this class.
Tough grader. 2 papers, mid-term, final, and some quizzes. With papers and exams it is unclear of what he expects from you. Also midterm and final are in class, not open book, and are specific and confusing essay questions.Hard that final and both papers take place/are due within the last 2 weeks of class which accounts for about 65% of your grade.
Not an easy A if you're lazy, but overall a challenging and interesting course. Also he is gorgeous.
Prof Leonidas is really funny and knowledgeable. He explains Shakespeare in a way that anyone can grasp. Reading is obviously necessary, and yes, he is a bit tough when it comes to papers, but this ultimately helped me to become a better writer. I loved his class, and not just because he's gorgeous.
He was okay I think. He kind of looks like another version of Steve Jobs. His lectures are LONG! Good luck not falling asleep! His tests and midterms are not hard at all. I took a midterm without knowing we had one that day and I still managed to get an B. ALWAYS bring the textbook!!
Loved his Shakespeare course!! I am taking another class with him next semester. If you do the reading and go to class you can pass this easily. Also if you are doing Shakespeare, don't bother getting the book!! It's massive and hard to carry around. I just got cheap copies of the plays at random bookstores and the library.
Great Professor!! This was the second class I took with him. He is into his renaissance and 17th century lit so his lectures are really good. If you make a decent effort you'll pass. I'm actually disappointed I won't be able to take his Shakespeare 398 next fall. I definitely recommend him.
He's a great professor but can be a little rude sometimes. Show up to class and participate and you will do fine. He's very helpful if you go to hiss office hours. I bought the book on amazon for $20 but you don't really need it you can print off the plays online. Also is doesn't hurt that he's hot
Going into a Shakespeare course never take Shakespeare before or having any interest in Shakespeare, I was not expecting to have a great time. Although I personally dislike this form of literature, this professor made the course very enjoyable and the time flew by in class. Not too much work besides reading of course, and straight forward tests.
Probably the best English teacher I've had in all my years of school. Was always able to ask questions and never made you feel guilty for not understanding the sometimes difficult material.
Intelligent and funny during lectures. Wouldn't recommend the big textbook, it is a pain to carry around- you can get by with the cheap mass market paperbacks from Amazon for the 5 plays you read. If you don't like Shakespeare, this course will be very boring. If you do, I highly recommend it. If you do the readings/homework, you should get an A.
The best thing to ever happen to you, the easiest A. Don't BS, if you go to class and pay attention you will pass everything with a 100.
I never cared for Shakespeare, but Eric made it fun. Although his lectures are somewhat heavy, you will really understand the themes and plot very well which are important for the exams. Don't bother buying the book as you can just find the play online. As for readings, just use Sparknotes' modern translation of each play -- it's much easier.
Really nice prof. Really knows his stuff on Shakespeare. What I like is that he tends to touch on topics or themes that aren't as mainstream as well as reviewing plays that aren't the usual curriculum. I hadn't heard of most of the stuff we had scheduled. I would take again.
Dr. Leonidas is an awesome professor! I do not find Shakespeare to be the most interesting subject but he makes it so much more interesting! Pay attention in class and you'll be fine!
Professor Leonidas really made Shakespeare easy for me. He explained each sections of the readings very thoroughly and even offered resources to help us through the plays. He also provides tons of notes that ends up helping with the quizzes. It is not a hard class to pass but if you don't read or go over notes, good luck.
Eric is such a great prof love u eric
My best advice would be regurgitate what he says in class on the assignments. He doesn't take independent thought well, and prefers snarky comments to substantive feedback. There are plenty of other professors to take worthless general education credits with...
I took this class thinking it was going to be horrible. I had 0 interest in Shakespeare and just needed the credit. His passion about Shakespeare is so contagious. I loved Othello and actually started to look forward to writing papers about it. Professors like him are the reason I haven't dropped out yet LOL
Professor Leonidas is so passionate about Shakespeare which made the class so enjoyable for me. He teaches not only about the stories themselves but the history behind them as well. Homework is just to read and studying for some minor tests. There was one paper we had to write as well. These things will not be difficult if you read and go to class.
Prof. Leonidas is a nice guy, he made learning about the Trojan War quite interesting. Make sure you read and bring the textbooks to every class since the lectures and group discussions are on the previous chunk of reading he assigns. Quizzes were kind of hard considering all the choices sound the same, but writing assignments and exams are easy.
His lectures are actually really interesting and he keeps you engaged the whole time so you actually understand what's going on. The feedback on assignments is really great, he hits a lot of points and his assignments have really clear instructions too. Definitely take this course, you'll enjoy it
You're going to get as much as you give to this class. Paying attention is most important, read what is talked about, and based on what he says in class you shouldn't have trouble with the assignments.
Good professor to take Honors Seminar with. I liked how Prof. Leonidas can get very into the topic and engage with students. This class is a lot of busy work but that is no fault of the professor. I would say that at times the lectures did feel a little repetitive and required a ton of reading but still overall a great class and professor.
If you have the chance to take Professor Leondias, DO IT! I had him for Shakespeare and he was fantastic. You could tell he loved the plays and did such a great job of explaining them that were was no confusion so pay attention in class. Only homework was to read and a few assignments when a play was finished that were not hard.
I took dystopias because I am not that interested in reading and needed to fill a general education requirement for my major. I am glad I took this course with Prof. Leonidas. As long as you show up and do all of the assignments, you're almost guaranteed an A and he seemed like a nice guy. Lectures could get dry at times, but overall good.
I wish I filled out my course eval. Terrible. The only hilarious part about the class is how rude and unnecessarily snarky his feedback is. Instruction for papers is so unclear. Quizzes are purposefully tricky. Exams are okay, but it's like he enjoys leaving sarcastic and backhanded comments. Shakespeare is already hard no need to be mean.
He honestly isn't a horrible person, but he shouldn't be a professor. He gives too much work and gives little care about personal life. Grades too harshly, wants you to have the same opinion as him. Had to attend things outside of class on our days off. Don't take him if you have the choice to…
Honestly this class was not that bad. There is a good amount of reading but that is to be expected. He tries to make class enjoyable and have everyone understanding reading and assignments. A few things are mandatory to attend outside of class but that is a requirement and not decided by him. He gives lots of feedback and wants students to do well
TAKE SHAKESPEARE WITH HIM. You can tell he loves the content and it is something he is passionate about. He makes sure that the material is understood and the assignments and exams are not difficult if you just pay attention in class.
his son is the sweetest boy on earth. specifically the tall one.
Prof Leonidas is a mixed bag. You will learn a lot in his class but will also receive sassy comments on papers. He is also very "my way or the highway" with opinions on papers. Also have to attend stuff outside of class hours but says it at the beginning. Clear expectations and not terrible.
In a graduate course you would expect a professor to encourage thinking, beyond the norms of their opinion. Professor Leonidas, discourages all other opinions that are not his own.
Everything about his “my way or the highway” attitude is pretty true, but he's not entirely unreasonable. I really enjoyed my 398 class with him, but it was a lot of work. Good luck.
If you have any brains at all you will not take this professor.
In a graduate course, he was not accommodating whatsoever. He had the nerve to publicly disagree with you after presenting. I wish I read the “rate my professor” reviews prior to taking him. He is an elitist.
He literally did not have a technology policy then called me out during class. Not a nice professor. Boring lectures. Will call you out if you are late or don't have your book.
If I had the chance to take Cohen I would have. He is “opinionated” to the point where he discourages students.
All the ratings reflect who him accurately. Reasons why people avoid the ENG department.
Worst professor. Lectures are boring. He likes to hear himself talk. Opinions are his own and he projects.
Took ENG 398… take Gilmore. That's all.
