Chevy Chase with a white board marker. Good sense of humor made up for super-lite lecture (sometimes). Only problem was lack of thorough, in depth discussion of material which I like but could be bonus for those who don't enjoy the subject.

Hard class but a very funny man

Hard class if you've never had Bio before or it's been awhile. Really funny guy, you need to pay attention and take good notes/read the chapters b/c the tests aren't all his notes!

Good teacher, but a hard class.He does joke around in class but he only does it to stop people from sleeping...some of the subjects are not that exciting.You have to understand how things work,its not just memorization.Lifson is not a bad teacher like other people have wrote.Microbiology is not an easy course!

Very funny. Not too difficult as long as you try. Don't bother taking him if you are not serious about school.

Ok... He's special with a peculiar humor BUT he knows his stuff and if you're a student who wants to learn, he will be there for you! But don't expect free grades!!

There's no denying that this was a hard class. I am a very good student and studied a lot but I barely got a B. Many people failed, but then again, many people in BCCC are not particularly interested in exterting themselves to learn. Liefson is hard for non-science majors, but I genuinely liked him and enjoyed the class.

Lifson is awesome. I am a Bio major, so I really enjoyed this class. If your looking for an easy class with a boring teacher goto Corn. Lifson keeps your attention b/c he nuts in a good way.

Lifson is great. He takes a class that has potential to be horrendously boring and makes it fun. Great personality

i just dropped his hybrid micrbiology class. there is no inclass teaching and the face to face meetings coinsist of lab work. if you like teaching yourself this is the class for you. he gives out study guides and very lenient with any mistakes that happen online

Very CRAZY! But he is nice for the most part. Sometimes he makes you feel stupid. Like dont ever go to class late, he will give you hell in front of the class. I like how he had study sessions a couple of times a week. He was very entertaining. Funny. Hardest class I ever had, and it was hybrid. If I could do it over I wouldnt do micro as hybrid.

What can you say? Microbiology is a tough subject. Dr. Lifson is one-of-a-kind. He is funny, serious, dedicated, and cares about his students. If you do the work (yes, that's why you're in college - the days of high school and free rides are over)and ask for help when needed you will do very well in his class. Well done, Dr. Lifson!

Dr. Lifson is a good professor. He is very excentric and tries to make the class interesting with his comical, odd behavior. Material being taught is diffulcult but if you study, pay attention and do homework assignments, you will not have a problem. Be prepared for alot of memorization. I highly recommend him, you will learn alot from him.

I took the summer hybrid. I think Dr. Lifson was a great professor. He's certainly a bit odd, but it keeps things interesting. He's insistence that we follow his lab procedure, certainly made me paranoid enough to never forget certain lab techniques. If you work hard you will do well, I'm postbac with a 4.o & I would rate him as a 7 in difficulty.

I know a lot of people who dont like Lifson, and he is a bit weird sometimes but its his way of taking the pressure off the class and making it funny which annoys some. I personally like him and he does do a lot to help you get a decent grade if he sees that youre serious. You need to study to pass with an A/B+

great guy. great sense of humor which made the labs go fast. Look, if you are taking microbiology with anyone, it is going to be tough. Just make sure you actively memorize material from day one. that is the trick for all biology classes.

take him for bio and you will not regret it. review your quizzes an you'll get an a on the tests. makes class fun by joking around a lot. awesome guy.

Great teacher, very helpful and understanding. The quizes are the best way to learn for the tests also take good notes it will all be on the test. Remember to read the articles people post online there will be at least one question about them on the tests/quiz :)

I can't believe people actually have failed his class. I got an A+ and I didn't even buy the textbook. His lectures can be kind of boring but he's really sarcastic and he makes me laugh all the time. Plus he's a good dude and if you try in his class he'll help you out. I'd take him again no doubt.

Can't believe anyone would fail to realize the man is being sarcastic! He mainly teaches night class, so he uses dry humor to keep everyone alert & paying attention. Material a bit repetitive w other courses, but he's an awesome teacher! I'd take him again, in a sec! Work hard, get the A!

coolest teacher at bucks, super smart, humorous, and sexy! to get an A all you have to do is take the notes, come to class, and make sure you study. quizzes are based on the notes, and are pretty simple as long as you somewhat understand the material. TAKE LIFSON!

Worked for A I got. Quirky, but good prof. If you take the 6wk session, don't take anything else. Tests are difficult, but all ?s come from the text. Don't rely on his outlines as notes. Know what's on the outlines. Labs are fun. Very sarcastic, does not like lateness bc it disturbs the class. Treats it like a college level class. No easy A here.

i thought he was great very hard class but he is very helpful and he explains at the beginning that it is not an easy class however although i thought the class was very hard he was a great teacher and very helpful. If you dont want to study and work hard or try he is not the teacher for u ur grade is based on your test so study hard and laugh hard

Did pretty poorly on most of the exams and still pulled a B. He is very fair and very funny! Not terrible to look at either!

GREAT teacher!!! I took the 6 week hybrid class and got an A! He tells you EXACTLY what to study. There were 3 open book quizzes then an exam on those quizzes. IF YOU FAIL IT IS YOUR OWN FAULT!!! He was probably one of the most entertaining professors I've had. Any student with a bad review either didn't get his humor or didn't put the work in!!!

Took his hybrid course this semester and wish I had taken his lectures. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is entertaining and made class enjoyable. His TESTS are easy, if you follow the MAIN points in the study guides. He is very fair, but you must STUDY. Be mature enough to take responsibility for you education and stop criticizing him.

Nice guy , but he is just to all over the place. I would say if you have to take him take his class online because honestly I just read the book & that's how I passed the class. I also heard taking him online was easier than in class.

He is a great teacher. He provides a clear outline of class and his expectations. When you need help he is there for and really cares whether or not you understand the material. I would take him again.

I took his hybrid class and I thoroughly enjoyed his labs. Get ready to read a ton, but it is college... Can't expect him to just make it that easy for people. Had it been that easy as most people would want it, I don't think I would've learned anything. His outlines doesn't always match up with his tests, but he does curve the grades.

Dr. Lifson, is not only an amazing teacher, he is so funny and makes labs enjoyable. It is a lot of work, so get ready to read, but if you put in the effort then you will do fine, seeing as the material isnt all that hard. He gives study guides which help but dont always match the exams perfectly, but he curves every test. I highly recommend him

Dr. Lifson is a great guy, def worth your time getting to know. His tests are EXTREMELY hard because of the wording. He curves his exams respectively, and understands everyone has lives outside of the classroom. He treats you based on how you treat him. Show up late or use your phone during class, do not expect to be on his good side. DUH

He a great professor but, he there are times that the exams looked like foreign material. But he does curves (which was very helpful)!

His lectures were absolutely amazing. He has a great sense of humor, is clear about expectations. Appreciates participation. Fantastic labs.

Micro is not easy, u have to put in the hours to learn it. The exams DO match the chap. review ?s, study guides and quizzes, it's not word for word because *GASP* he wants u to be able to apply the info. He's an awesome professor, I'm convinced anyone that thinks otherwise doesn't take responsibility for their own work or get his humor. I loved him

Lifson is bae. Of course microbiology is a hard class and you will have to work for it by reading the textbook as well as reading the study guides. But if you do that you can get an A in the class. He is a real gem, great guy. RECOMMEND TAKING!!!!

The material and exams are only hard if you put no effort into it. I took his course as a hybrid and labs do not account for much of your grade. Tests account for 80% of your final grade so you need to prepare accordingly. As long as you do what he recommends, which he makes clear, you'll do well on the tests.

Eric does have an odd sense of humor but it just depends how you take it. As for the class, the hybrid version is very well organized. If you do everything you're supposed to, the exams are really easy. If you go into it thinking you don't need to study, you will fail, but that should be common sense. He's helpful and funny. Recommend!

Professor Lifson is a great teacher!! He made Micro fun even though it was a hard class. He is so funny and has a great sense of humor too! His tests are tough, but he gives generous curves on most of them. He drops your lowest test grade. He makes it clear on what to study. If you study and work hard, you will do great! I highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this class ! He had a good sense of humor and was super flexible with students. You have to read and study but thats to be expected. It's a tough subject but he gives you study guides to fill out that narrows down what's important. It's not an "easy" class you have to try but he makes it fun ! I would totally recommend him.

took hybrid for micro, just read and study and you'll be fine. he does have a very different sense of humor, and if you get offended by things easily, then do not take him

Professor Lifson was a great teacher for microbiology. He is hilarious! I loved his sense of humor. I took this class as a hybrid/summer course. If you put the work in you will do well! You must do well on the exams because they are worth 60% of your grade. I highly recommend taking Lifson!

If you pay attention to the study guides and listen in class you'll be fine. It takes a class or two to get used to the sense of humor but it makes it interesting and he does explain the concepts very well. If you're looking for an A for zero work you won't get it (but newsflash big boy college won't give you that either)

Mr. Lifson was a wonderful teacher. Make sure you read the chapters before the lectures or you will be lost. Exams are not horrible, but mostly trickery questions. He wants you to do well if you work at it but will not give extra credit. Exams will add points if some questions were worded strange.

I personally has an amazing experience with Lifson! He's very intelligent and truly cares about how well everyone does. He wants the best for his students and it shows. His super dry sense of humor is hilarious to me and he puts a lot of effort into study guides, questions and other helpful work to encourage you to succeed! Highly recommend

This class is not an easy A. He tells you the truth on the first day. LISTEN to what he says to study and you will pass! You will also learn a lot along the way. Some people find him odd. I found his dry sense of humor hilarious. His labs are interesting. He answers emails and questions quickly! Hes always there to help! Id take him again!

Id like to say that there were times where I struggled in the class and not all of my exams were the best. But professor Lifson was understanding and helped me out. He makes conversation in the class and was funny. He gives you review sheets that were helpful. If you try I believe you can do it.

Professor Lifson was hilarious with his dry humor but make no mistake he means business. Do you homework, read his study guides and use them to take notes on. This is a heavy class and easy to get behind or not understand the information and fail. Use your quizzes to study, majority of quiz questions are on the test.

All I need to say is STUDY, STUDY, STUDY. Put the time in EVERYDAY and you should pass. It is a lot of information. TEST HEAVY. Do not recommend taking hybrid if you need somebody to teach you the material. I barely passed with a B due to this. He is caring to his students. Show you care and are trying and he will care, too.

Labs were easy. Class is exam heavy. Majority of your grade stems from the exams. This is a tough class. No extra credit assignments are given. Mr. Lifson has a personality that isn't for everyone however I didn't mind it one bit. He will talk to you and help but you must show you are willing to put the work in to learn and study.

He's very straight to the point and tries to make his course easy and enjoyable. The course material isn't easy to learn but if you put in the work, you'll get the grades. Exams make up a gigantic portion of your grade. He doesn't seem to have a ton of patience, but he will help you nonetheless if you need it.

Professor Lifson's class is challenging, but if you put in the effort - study the textbook, do practice questions, and utilize resources like unstuckstudy - you can succeed. His dry humor makes lectures entertaining, though he may seem impatient at times.
