The majority of the class time is in groups. He's easy to understand and doesnt put you to sleep.

He is a really great teacher! He listens to everything you say/ask. Is really good with giving back feed back on your essays. I would recomend him to anyone!

This teacher definitely cares about student success and is very flexible. He is very funny as well. Sure his grading is strict when it comes to essays but you can re-do them towards the end of the semester. Take him, he makes English fun.

HE IS AN AWESOME TEACHER!!! He knows what he's talking about and is very helpful. He is pretty good at keeping you interested, and rarely does he go rambling. There is a lot of reading and he does have a short quiz at the beginning every class. But the quizzes are only 5-6 very easy questions and easy midterm. Would totally recommend this teacher!

He is a nice and funny teacher:. You can learn a lot from him though. U wont be bored during the class! However, there are sth u need to consider when takign his class: lots of hw, 6 essays and OMG including a very hard essay for the final. he is also strict in gradign the paper :(

Eric's an awesome down to eath genuine guy. Because he was such a good guy I enjoyed the class. Some may get the wrong opinion on the guy but in my book he was cool and a pretty good teacher, very understanding.

Eric was awesome, very helpful and a lot of fun. If you do poorly on an essay he allows you to rewrite one and turn it in again for a higher grade. Gives a lot of notes on your work to tell you how to make it better and explains the concepts very well. Highly recommend him, made english fun for me again.

Professor has a dull personality BUT I learned so much in his class. I went from a D to a B because of all the extra credit he gives and because I started to pay attention. His class helped me for all my other classes. I extremely recommend him because he does teach a student how to write a paper.

He really takes the time to explain everything that he is looking for when grading papers. Make sure to keep up on the reading because there is often a quiz at the start of every class and there is lots of extra credit offered.

He is a very strict teacher, but he provides a lot of critiques on essays to help on the next one. There is a total of 3 essays and one research paper. Do the reading he assigns because there is almost always a quiz the following class. Make sure you visit him during his officer hours for help because he won't via email. Strict on attendance.

He is pretty helpful. Essays are based on the short stories, so you should read them the day he assigns them! Helpful on essays, take the necessary time to write them. Essays are pretty much your whole grade, so ask questions about his comments every time you get them back. Overall pretty great!

Professor Odegaard was is one of my favorite professors. He really opened my eyes on how an English class is supposed to be. Extremely helpful, clear and organized, and has an amazing taste of humor. He is somewhat a hard grader on essays, but he is willing to help you with it, and offer to revise one of it.

Proffesor Odegaard is an amazing instructor. Although, it was impossible to get good grades on the essay I worked my butt on. One of the best professors I've ever had.

Professor Odegaard is by far one of the greatest English professors Citrus has to offer. His 101 class was a bit harder than his 103 class mainly because 101 covered stories, and 103 was more poems. His essays are pretty moderate! He explains and is very helpful! Most of the time you work in groups, there is a presentation, quizzes, essay research

Eric's funny in a witty kind of way. Once you get the hang of how he grades, it's impossible to not pass. He's really easy to talk to. Plus, he's really interested in helping all of his students and remembers names. He's the best. I'd definitely take him again.

He's is a very helpful teacher and he doesn't make the subject intimidating. There are several quizzes which are short& easy if you read the story. The essays can be tough but he makes himself very available for help. most of the stories can be found online so he doesn't require the book. Definately one of the best english teachers I've had.

Eng. 104 is a fun class. There were 4 papers (media and social issues), small quizzes from stories in the textbook (easy). He is everything a English teacher should be. He is very organized, clear in his expectations, and wants you to succeed in the class. He is strict but it is to make you a better student so ignore any negative comments.

I took the fast track English class for 101/103. Although it was very challenging, I really enjoyed the class. Mr. Odegaard was one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very straight forward and tells you exactly what he wants in his essays. Although some of the essays were challenging,he was very helpful in class and out of class.

I took his fast track English 101/103 class. One of my most favorite teachers!! His work isn't too hard but at the same time you learn so much because of the interaction he wants his students to have. Do not underestimate the essays though. He knows his stuff in English & I feel like I've improved my writing so much because of him!

Eric can be a challenging professor if you have a difficult time following instructions that are clearly given to you on a sheet of paper. he's very straight forward, has very high expectations and is a difficult grader when it comes to papers, but you will learn a lot from him. do your wok and do what he says and you will be fine.

Awesome teacher. Odegaard is a little strict with how he wants things done, but in a good way. Took him for summer school, the course is hard, but he is very laid back about it. He is very helpful but he is a hard grader on essays and that class is all about essays.

Can be a very tough class. Just make sure you try on all your papers because they really add up towards your grade. He is very specific on what he wants and will not hesitate to give you a 69.5% instead of rounding it to a 70%. I can't believe I passed with an A. I sacrificed grades on my other 3 classes to pass this one!

I just finished taking his fast track class. One of the best teachers at Citrus, assuming you take the time to go to him after hours. His teaching style is personalized and he really takes the time to incorporate his students' ideas into his lectures. You will fail if you show up without reading or if you try to get away with flimsy analysis.

Took Eric for the winter session, so everything was condensed and fast paced. He's a funny guy, can be very sarcastic at times, and likes to spew out random facts. A bit of a hard grader when it comes to essays. So for you to get an A on a paper, your writing must knock his socks off. Literally, he said. But all in all, he's a great prof.

I absolutely loved his class! I took the fast track english and even though it was fast-paced, the fact that we got to meet every day allowed the whole class to grow closer in a way that we actually had fun during lecture. Eric is hilarious and always keeps a light atmosphere in the classroom. Definitely take your time to go to his office hours.

I think it's safe to say that English isn't exactly everyone's favorite subject, but Mr. Odegaard makes it worthwhile. Start early on your drafts and if you can, attend his office hours to discuss your ideas for any paper. He makes this super fast paced class fun and easy to understand because of his cute sense of humor- would take again!

I took Professor Odegaard Spring 2014 for a fast track 101-103 English class it was a lot but I loved it. Essays are due weekly & you must read a short story every night, he gives pop quizzes! He expects you to do your absolute best & give it your all. GO TO OFFICE HOURS if you need help! He is a GREAT professor, I would take him again!

This professor was by far the best teacher I have had in my entire life. He was not easy, but I left his class with tools I can use for the rest of my life. He actually teaches you and assigns papers with beneficial value. The more the student puts into this class, the more they'll receive from it. Highly recommend every student to take his class.

Mr. Odegaard was the best teacher I've had so far. He really seems to care about the students as he's always answering questions and staying after class to assist you on essays. He makes lectures interesting and entertaining by making jokes, even if they fall a little flat sometimes. Turn your assignments in on time, and make sure you read!

Best Professor at Citrus ! Hands down. He cares for his students, passionate about his subject. I hated English, but I understood I needed to put in the work to get the grade I wanted.

He's a good professor and gives you the tools to pass. I seriously can't believe i passed his 101 with a B. I seriously worked my ass off and lagged in all of my other classes just go get that grade. If you think you're a good writer now, think twice before taking this class.

He's an amazing professor. I started the class with no desires to write or the skills to pull off a decent paper. By going to his office hours I was able to figure out what each paper needed to pull off an A. Go to his office hours, do the reading and participate in class and he will help you be a better writer and analyzer.

Great professor, I enjoyed the class and the assignments weren't unmanageable. I really liked the quick pace of the fast track class, an essay was due almost every week and we had reading to do every day then we had small quizzes on the readings. If you can't handle that pace then don't take the fast track class.

This professor is one of the best I've ever had. I always had difficulties with English courses but Mr. Odegaard gave his time and effort to help me improve. Yes, he makes your work for your grade, but it's beneficial in the long run. I would definitely take his class again!

Oh man, I hate language classes but Mr. Odegaard changed my view completely. I took him in the summer and we had his accelerated 8 week course taught in a summer term (6 weeks). We had a pop quiz almost every day, read a short story almost every day, and had a paper due every week. He provided excellent feedback, is very knowledgeable, and cares.

He's a pretty cool professor. He had a disclaimer that the class was going to go ridiculously fast as it was a 16-week class compressed into 6. Time management is your best friend if you do decided to take it during Summer or Winter. Essays were due pretty much every week. Pop quizzes on almost all the reading. Lectures help with essays.

Best professor at Citrus. Just finished Engl 101 with an A, now continuing with 103. Most students received B's and below, but I think that reflects their work ethic more than his teaching. Don't text in class. Don't miss class. Read his feedback on your papers. Do extra credit. Don't ask stupid questions. Hilarious and friendly teacher.

Never before would I have thought i'd appreciate a professor who makes me work my tail off. He will give you the foundation you need to succeed in college. My analytical and critical thinking skills have improved so much in his course, and I can attribute it all to his hard work and passion. Thanks Prof. Odegaard, you are the man.

In his class you must actually do the work and you must show up everyday. He is very funny, helpful and makes sure everyone understands the material. A lot of writing and reading but it is a fun class and this is coming from someone that hates to read and write. Great teacher and would take again.

Eric is honestly the best! He is so helpful and makes class so fun. He gets everyone involved in discussions and he made the material easy to understand. 101 wasn't too bad but 103 was. Professor Odegaard is some sort of Norse god. He brought the lightning to class if you catch my meaning. He values each student and wants them to succeed and become better writers, but he doesn't just give out free grades. I hope to become a Norse god one day.

Eric is a wonderful professor. I took him for Creative Writing this semester and he has taught me to be a better writer. He allows students to work together and learn from each other, as well as by giving you personal feedback and how to improve your storytelling. Solid teacher and definitely worth taking the class.

Mr. Odegaard is a great professor! He gives you the help you ask for, and tries to answer all your questions/concerns. We had 5 papers in total. Two were in class, including the final. Gives some pop quizes, not on all stories, so it's best to just read all the stories assigned. Great personality. Never had a problem in class. Really recommend him.

Professor Odegaard is a spectacular professor. I took a Winter English 101 class, and although he is a tough grader, he packs a lot of material in his lectures because he really cares about the success of his students. His class was not easy, but he really did teach me a lot. Be prepared to dedicate time and effort and you are sure to do well.

Professor Odegaard really loves teaching. He's the type of person who it's hard to picture them as anything but a teacher. He is affable, understanding and displays genuine regard for his students. He won't talk down to you, gives you good feedback, lays out expectations clearly and is a fair grader. Quite simply, Eric is a Norse God.

Professor Odegaard is about as good as it gets when it comes to preparation for the next step of college. His class can be a little demanding at times but his methods force you to learn and understand the concepts truly. You get out what you out in and his class was well worth the time and effort.

He's a really funny guy and as long as you hit the criteria for papers you can get pretty good grades on them. He gives plenty of time and resources for the essays assigned and allows you to make up one at the end of the semester for the chance to earn a better grade. Quizzes are super easy.

Professor Odegaard fantastic English teacher! Took him for ENGL 101 & 103. His lectures are elaborate, ATTENTIVE (better yet humorous) and he chooses GREAT stories for the class to read. For ENGL103 you'll have 3 papers, a research paper, and 2 vocab exams which are easy if you study. Visiting his office hours can get you an A or save your grade.

Professor Odegaard is defiantly one of a kind. His teaching criteria is on point and very clear. Not once did any due dates change while in this course. Even in winter semester its doable. When taking this class you should take it serious. Odegaard is the real deal and will give you the skills to effectively elaborate and argue on social issues.

I took Prof Odegaard for ENGL101E and he has around 4 essays and gives great feedback on all of them! He allows you to send him your essay before submitting in order to get feedback to change it beforehand. He genuinely wants you to succeed and his essays were easy to write if you read the books required! He is easily accessible even online.

Seeing the influx of negative reviews inspired me to write an actually accurate one. The first half of his class was mostly discussion boards based off short excerpts. The rest was on the novel Garbology, not sure if he changes it per semester, though. The final paper was really the only challenging assignment of the semester. Easy-going, cool dude

OMG I dont understand these bad reviews! Prof. O is very funny & chill! His assignments are straightforward & will help you draft your essays. He likes to overexplain & is aware of it, but I liked that about him cause it made me confident in how I approached assignments. He also doesnt grade participation. Just show up, do the work, and youre set!

The course material offered in this class was phenomenal. I had so much fun studying classics like The Odyssey and Inferno along with other texts I'd never heard of. Mr. Odegaard is a fair grader and is always happy to talk with students after class. Also, every student gets a chance to voice their opinions and analysis. 10/10 would recommend.

He grades really tough but he gives you the option to revise all essays. There are three essays, a research paper, and the final is a self reflection. Show up to class and do the work on time he will respect you. No late work allowed, so do ALL the extra credit. There are biweekly reading responses that connect back to the essay due before class.

If you like english as a subject, you'll be fine but if you don't you'll get really annoyed with this class. It's not horrible but it's not fun like some other classes i've had. Just an average teacher to be honest. Strict grader but gives good feedback and allows revised essays. TIME CONSUMING.
