As a person he is great and very knowledgeable about his topic and is passionate about teaching it. On the other hand he likes to play trick questions on exams and quizzes and will keep the entire question the same as previous questions but will only change half the word to mean something else which will completely change the answer.

He's a great professor. The lectures are full of material, and for me, it was hard to follow, so I would end up going over them again. He tends to just read from the slide anyway. Your grade is composed of 5 quizzes out of the 6, 3 exams of the 4, the final, and then lecture questions. It's a very difficult class, but I learned a lot.

I dont agree with the other comments. I think he was the first professor to actually make class interesting and he was very knowledgeable. I guess since I am a senior I've finally learned how to study for tests so yes it was lecture heavy but as a professor I think he did a good job. He also was flexible in providing opportunities for extra credit

Mr. Riddell is a great professor. He is passionate about physiology and makes lectures fun. He makes me laugh which is hard to say for some professors. Tests and quizzes are a bit difficult, but it contains information we have talked about before in lecture. There is also extra credit, a quiz drop, and a test drop to raise your grade.

Eric Riddell is a great professor and truly wants you to have the best grade possible. He gives basically free points by letting us take lecture participation points, and gives extra credit. The best way to do good on the exams is if you attend lecture since he answers the exact same exam questions. He also has good humor and makes the class fun.

He sets his students up for success but it's up to us to study and succeed. The slides are bare minimum but he explains it in class so I would go to every class. You don't need the text book but it helps if you don't understand a certain topic. Overall good class and teacher and reminded me why I wanted to go into the medical field.

Eric Riddell is great professor who cares about his students. He always makes sure his student succeed and sets you up to succeed. Make sure to pay attention in lectures as his lectures tie into the participation questions which can come up on exams! He does a great job making sure his students understand the material and is very approachable.

If you are willing to learn in class and go to each of the lectures, you will pass easily. He gives lecture participation points every single lecture and gives full credit for trying. A lot of the exam is from questions you talk about in class. The exams are in the testing center and 70 minutes, but I personally never used the whole time.

Take note of his participation questions, quizzes, and questions he asks during lectures. The lecture slides are very picture/graph heavy which makes it sort of difficult to take notes and know exactly what to study. Very personable and fun guy.

This class is structured well. Lectures are organized with a lot of figures, but not a lot of words on the slides so you need to listen and pay attention. The exams aren't bad since a lot of the questions are reused from past quizzes and participation questions. He is easy to listen to and creates a good learning environment for the class.

I have loved taking this class. Dr. Ridell is an amazing professor and his lectures are honestly really interesting. Really pay attention in class though because he points out important concepts that will be on the exams.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Riddel's class. He keeps the lectures very engaging, and while attendance is not mandatory, you get a lot more out of the class when you show up for class. He gives a lot of chances to have a good grade if you apply yourself, and he always tries to make himself available to students.

Dr. Riddell teaches a great class! He goes over the material well and doesn't try and trick you on exams or quizzes, he goes over exactly what you should know to be prepared. Some of the material can be difficult to understand at times but going to lecture really helps in the understanding of the material.

I would definitely take Professor Riddell again. While some of the problems on the exam were difficult, if. you paid attention during class and asked questions, you were fine. He always responded to emails on time and if you had questions that needed further explanation, you could meet him during office hours and he would break that down for you.

Dr. Riddell had extremely interesting lectures. I found that most concepts and exam questions were taken right from his lecture questions, homework, and quizzes. He was quick to answer questions, liked to add a lot of class participation to ensure understanding, and is a fun guy. Would recommend a class with him.

If you go to lecture and take light notes, you'll likely be fine. Most of the exam questions come right from the lecture slides. If you don't go to lecture, it'll probably be a really difficult class because the lectures are hard to decipher outside of class (he uses pictures and then explains the content in class). #wouldrecommend

Attend the lectures and take good notes and you should do well in the class. He's really engaging with students and wants everyone to do well - there are questions during lecture that are used on quizzes and exams. It's a harder class but it's not extremely difficult if you apply yourself - it is physiology, it shouldn't be easy.

Clear method of teaching, easy tests, many of the test questions come straight from the presentation questions in class. Also the extra credit opportunity at the end of the course was super helpful to maintain my grade! You have to attend class every time however.

I would take a class with this professor again. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and grades fairly. He drops your lowest exam and quiz scores at the end! Extra credit offered too.

Eric was a good teacher and knew a lot about what he was teaching. The course is tough but not the professor's fault. Eric cares about his student's grades and does a lot to make sure everyone is ending with the grades that they deserve.

Truly works hard and lectures are entertaining, the material is very interesting how it correlates to not just humans, but other animals, pay attention in lecture, has beneficial questions asked during each which could show up again in the future, even a bit leaner grader when it came to the end of the semester would definitely take again

Dr. Riddell shows his love for biology through his teaching and it makes attending and listening to lectures very easy and enjoyable. If you show up to class, you will get a good grade. All you have to do is apply yourself and ask him questions when you have them. He is very helpful.

I appreciate learning the content via repetition as many exam questions are from lecture participation questions and quizzes. He talks much more in-depth about details not actually present on the slides, but the exams don't necessarily require that material, so I had the opportunity to learn a lot without it reflecting poorly on my grade.

I enjoyed this class so much. Dr. Riddel is a nice professor who clearly states what is expected of exams. The content for this course is not easy, but if you follow the practice questions in the lecture, most of the exam questions should be similar! I would recommend this course to any biology or pre-med student since various topics are covered.

Dr. Riddell was a great professor. He did a great job dumbing down subjects for students who may not have been as familiar with the topics. He would challenge us with lecture questions that weren't for credit, which I appreciated. The quizzes were very straight forward as well as the exams. If you attend lecture you are sure to get above a B-.

Professor Riddell, I thought, was a really good professor. He always seemed into the material he was talking about. I would recommend attending the lectures because he talks about information to know for the exams.

I felt that this class is a good one to take if you are pre-med. The book isn't required, but I would recommend either finding a free version or buying the one he recommends because if there is something you don't understand in lecture slides, he puts the chapter and section where you can find it and you can read more into it to better understand.

I enjoyed this professor.He makes the lectures interesting.Even though it is not required,go to lectures because they are really helpful for understanding the information.A book was required.However,I didn't really use mine as much. I got all of the information I needed from the lectures.I liked that we had three days to take the exams and quizzes.

The class can be really tough if you don't show up to lectures. Unless you are one of those people who can absorb information from a textbook like a sponge; show up to lecture. He is funny, he's young so he isn't out of touch with his students. You get three days to take the exam, which is really helpful for people like me with a full schedule.

There is participation questions on canvas after each lecture that you get full credit for even if you get them wrong, those questions often show up on the quizzes and exams. It is always very clear what will be on the exam and if you follow his guidance exams are very approachable. The content can be tricky, but I recommend Dr. Riddell.

I appreciated a professor who truly wants the best for his students - and takes time to make sure they understand the material. However, the material covered on exams are heavily based on lecture and the post lecture questions. Overall, the class was interesting and I was pleasantly surprised by the effort put into each lecture.

He is a very good professor and makes it into terms that are easy to understand. His tone of voice used makes for a fun lecture, not boring. I enjoyed listening to lectures, even for topics I did not care much about. The tests were pretty hard, so going to lectures and paying attention is how you do well in this course.

Dr. Riddell was a great professor and made this class very enjoyable. Participation questions discussed in class are used on quizzes and exams, so if you attend lectures and pay attention you should do well. The textbook is optional, but I found it very useful to reinforce concepts.

Overall, Riddell was very enthusiastic in class, which made going to a morning class more enjoyable. Riddell generally always made it very clear about what information was critical to the exams, gave great feedback when it was asked of him, provided extra-credit opportunities, and was fair about grading exams when some questions were not "fair".

The homework is a lifesaver. A lot of the material on the exam is very similar, almost word for word, to the homework/quizzes.
