Nice guy, but could be irritating at times. Tests weren't too difficult and he was easy on grading and nice to borderline people. But he likes to go off into tangents and make erroneous statements like the Internet was invented by somebody in Nigeria. Aside from his laughable non-Psychology related statements, he is not a bad teacher.
Very funny. Really brings up some interesting topics that I had never thought of before. I had him for a three hour session and I was never bored. Not a lot of homework and test werent too hard.
Dr. Rogers is a cool cat. Good stories and entertaining. Grades based on test, extra credit is on blackboard along with class notes.
his tests are crazy! like 300 questions. it was insane. but hes cool and made class fun to go to. easy to follow along with! highlight what he reads from the book and get the chapter outlines off blackboard. the course in itself has alot of material to cover.
Dr. Rogers is excellent ! An awesome teacher. Organized, prepared, resourceful and in-depth.
Abnormal psychology class online is what i took. If you want to kill yourself take this class. It was very bad, unclear direction, and each test was at least 150 questions. I wanted to drop the class. i wanted to study psychology until this class but not no more!
Do not take his online class. There is no clear syllabus. If you want to guess when things are due and what the assignments are then he's perfect. Constantly changed test layouts and dates. Does not give adequate time to finish anything. worst online teacher ever...and I've had really bad ones. AVOID!!!
Dr Rogers is the best teacher ever very knowlegable and helpful.Love his exprience in teacher and such a good role model. and he keeps it real
Rogers is intelligent, famous, educated and experienced- he is no joke. With insight and clear sense of humor he opens the historical context and meaning of the long, complex field of Psychology with lots of planning. He makes you you read, write and report back in class. You must be intereted in learning and motivated. He is great for a teacher .
Dr. Rogers again. Yes, I give more test questions because I cover more material. Occasionally, I do change procedures or course objectives because I reserve the right to do so. And I dont make erroneous statements. I also dont lower my standards or course requirements because some students cant or wont do the work. So take someone else. Duh !
Dr. Rogers is an outstanding instructor. He has an ability to explain things well, and give insight from personal experience. Plus, he is very "no-nonsense." I would highly recommend taking his class.
He's great ! Absolutely super. He's my favorite teacher.
Dr. Rogers is the bomb ! I would fail his class again and again and again just to take him one more time. I learn so so so so so much !
He is a very entertaining teacher. There is a lot of information he covers. His tests need studying and the final paper is insane[15pgs] but you really do learn things from him. He will relate topics back to everyday life to give you a better understanding on how things work. If you actually do the work you will have no problem in this class.
Dr. Rogers is an entertaining professor but gets side tracked alot. He is good about having tests made up as most teachers are strict about it. Tests/quizzes are difficult but as long as you do the study guides you should be fine
Excellent Professor. Organized, professional, humorous, insightful and very flexible with grading.
I took his abnormal Psych class and I leanred a lot. He is a teacher who is easy to understand, and is willing to help those who ask for it! I leanred a lot from him than I did with any other psych teachers... his tests are difficult, but he is always willing to help you study and what not... I recommend him!
Dr.Rogers is by far one of the most experienced and intelligent psych prof.@ CLC. Everyday I looked forward to his class and his personal experiences. He is tough, but worth it. Optional study guides for ex.cred, a test every couple chaps, a few assign. here&there, and a 15 pg paper(which sounds crazy, but surprisingly easy)Take Dr.Rogers for intro
Dr Rogers is one of the best profs I've ever had..he's extremely helpful..his class is tough but its worth it! If ur a psych major, take abnormal psych with him..tests every couple chapters, extra credit packets due on test dates, and a 15 pg paper due at the end but its not too bad..just be willing to read the book and study his lecture outlines.
Dr. Rogers is a very entertaining teacher. He is somewhat hard, but if you come to class and read the book you'll do fine in the class. Also make an effort to do the extra credit because that will REALLY help you big time. Don't put off the final paper, start as soon as you can or you'll really stress out. Overall: Great professor
I was not impressed with this class. I got more information on his life than on psychology.Test material was covered mostly but what you read on your own not from him reviewing.I got too much of his personal views and not enough teaching.
Hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Rogers is the Bernie Mac of psychology. Harvard grad!
I loved Dr.Roger's Abnormal Psy. class...I learned so much! He is the type of professor that expects you to be there and ready to learn. On that he is no nonsense, he may seem harsh but he is actually really down-to-earth person. I would definitely recommend his psy. classes to anyone ready to learn!
I've never met Dr. Rogers, because I took his on-line course, but he was a great resource! Any questions or problems I had regarding assignments, tests, and quizzes, he was more than available to answer. He was very understanding when the Blackboard system was down a lot, too!
Don't take this teacher if you aren't a good test taker. In the class i took with him, PSY121, the class was based on 3 exams, each having 100-120 questions, all multiple choice, a final of the same length. Oh yea, and a 15 page research paper that I don't think he seriously grades. Too much personal stories and family stories. Very ignorant/stubor
best teacher I've ever had at a college level, hes intimidating at first, but absolutely a big 'ol teddy bear. Such an amazing teacher, really nice to everyone
Dr. Rogers is an outstanding teacher. He teaches students not only the material but also life lessons. He may come off tough and stern, but he does it to make a point and change the students. He types out notes for you and tests from them. A few papers, but easy. You will leave the semester with a whole different attitude. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Rogers is an amazing teacher. The tests are difficult, so you will need to study based off the book and outlines he posts. And take good class notes! A 15-page paper at the end, but it isn't too bad if you start in September when it is assigned. Teaches you life lessons in every class... he knows how to preach it!
I was in Dr Rogers Online psych class and it was eh. It was a very challenging online class. The material is straight from the book so as long as you do the reading you should be ok. The biggest problem I had was that any time I needed to get ahold of the professor it was very difficult. I would email and call but getting a response was rare.
The class was not a cake walk but Dr. Rogers teaches everything you need to know about Psychology. He makes the interesting and fun. Best teacher ever!!!!!
I strongly discourage anybody from taking his online course. He did a terrible job setting up the blackboard site which is the only resource he offers (two poorly organized syllabi listing two different textbooks). He doesn't seem to have any interest in helping students, and shows no lenience on deadlines which threaten failure.
He doesn't respond to emails and has PowerPoint notes from an old textbook...regret taking his class!
Dr. Rogers is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is not super easy, but he gives you everything you need to pull an A or B out of his class. He will talk with any of his students outside of class. I am a psych major and have learned more from him, than any of the other 3 prof I have taken. Overall awesome teacher!!!
Cool dude, no idea how I got a B in the class lol
Dr. Rogers may be a good teacher if you do not take this online class. During the course, I had sent him 6 separate emails with no responses. I finally gave up emailng and went into his office to see what was going on.
Dr Rogers was one of my favorite teachers EVER!!!! Do NOT take his class unless you are ready to answer questions about yourself!!! He is not afraid to question you and is straight forward!!! His class almost reset me as a person and increased my interest in Psycology! I would recomend his class to anyone ready to pen their eyes to a greater level!
This is my 3rd time taking Dr. Rogers. His class is not a cake walk. So if you are not willing to study and put in the effort, then go to someone else. You will learn in his class. He will help students who ask for it. He execpts his students to act like they are in college, not highschool. One of the best teachers at CLC.
I took his online class and it is super easy! Only bad thing is that he does not answer emails very well. other than that it is a good class.
Good teacher! Puts things how they are. If you are interested and put forth good effort you will do fine.
Dr Rogers is a very intimidating man. He is extremely educated and passionate about psychology. Most of the materials are on blackboard so if you miss class, you'll be fine. His tests are very repetitive. Be sure to read the book. Dr Rogers never holds back from saying how he really feels which adds to the intimidation. He is firm but pleasant.
This man made me want to change my major to psych!! I took him for a 3-week, 3 credit class before summer session and got a B. He knows his stuff. 15 page research paper but it was actually really interesting. Scary man at first but he is really sweet. And loves talking about his kids!!
The man knows his stuff. He is very passionate about teaching and his classes are usually very interesting-- you will learn more than you might like about yourself. The tests aren't too bad and the research paper isn't as bad as it sounds (only 12 of the 15 pages is actual writing, and he's not too hard on the grading). Take his classes, he's a pro
I have to say out of all my teachers so far, that Dr. Rogers has to be my favorite. He keeps the class interesting and I personally think he's cute.
I'm a Psych Major and currently taking Dr.Roger's Abnormal Psych teacher. He's fascinating, passionate and makes things simple! Definitely reccomend his class!
Great Teacher. This was my favorite class to go to during the week. He makes the class really fun I also took abnormal psych with him and learned a lot. He also has a great background in his profession and knows exactly what hes talking about. His class is not an easy ride though you do have a 15 page paper. Its all worth it though.
Dynamic, Organized, Very focused. Dr. Rogers is down to earth and fascinating. He is for real and students that rate him bad are mad because Dr. Rogers doesnt cut them slack. He has high expectations and demands the best out of you. Best teacher I have had in college (not exaggerating). He is always on top of it.
Dr. Rodgers was one of my all time favorite teachers ever. He makes the class fun, funny, and interesting.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Rogers. He's one of the best teachers I have ever had. He's hilarious, he makes things interesting and easy to relate to, he's passionate about what he teaches and believes in his students. He's an outstanding teacher!
WORSE TEACHER EVER! He teachers the class like it's an honors class, His tests and quizzes are graded really weird. Instead of 8 points out of 10, u might get 8.15. His tests are suppose to be on two chapters but you'll find urself going to older chapters too. He doesn't help and makes sure you CALL him Dr or he won't help you.
Dr. Rogers rocks !!!!! He is terrific. Makes the class enjoyable and is very thorough. He is always response to your needs and is always available for you if you need help. Very detailed and test are tough. Definitely take him again.
Dr. Roger was an great teacher, very helpful, give extra credit. just have one paper to do in the class, test are easy just read the book and review his study guide he gives. overall great teacher.
Dr. Rogers is THE best professor I have ever had. I started at CLC then transferees to University of Arizona and now I'm at U of I and I haven't had a professor that could come close to him. Take a course of his, your not going to find another professor like him.
GREAT TEACHER! makes class very comfortable and always in the mood for a good laugh. emails all the power point notes to you. and if you're a note taker in class and don't miss many i would not buy the book. i took notes everyday in class, and missed maybe 2 classes and received an A but never used the book so save your money.
Dr. Rogers is a nice, funny guy and all...but that's about it. I didn't actually learn much to be frank. His tests are based on minute details (things that professionals would just look up) and that's why I scraped a B. Abnormal Psychology is VERY interesting stuff but you might be better off reading the DSM-V instead of taking his class.
Dr. Rogers is superfantastic and off the chain! He comes prepared, organized, focused and always insightful. He makes you work and his lectures great. Class is fun but serious and you get several chances and choices to improve your grade. He's a great professor!
Doc Rogers is super. He rocks! Always organized and the man is deep. He is great teacher! He works you death and give rough test. His knowledge about psychology is extensive. I really learned a lot. Recommend him for anyone.
Great teacher. I had a wonderful time with Dr. Rogers and this Psychology class. I learned more than I bargained for.
He is a very good teacher, there is a 15 page paper but it is not hard as long as you actually try. he is not a hard grader either. he tells personal stories which makes class so much more interesting. there is not much homework and basically as long as you show up you get an A. The tests have multiple choice and writing out the def. LOVED the clas
Dr. Rogers is such a fun teacher but there's nothing else great about him. He takes forever to grade things, offers extra credit then doesn't count it towards your grade. The tests were always hard and had to study for hours to pass.
Dr. Rogers is very detailed and motivated. He is very insightful and knows Psychology backwards and forwards. He is always available for advice, direction, and assistance. He is punctual, informative and a very fair in grading. He gives you extra credit and also returns your tests and assignments graded in quick and efficient time. Just Great!
Dr. Rogers is a great teacher. He is very prepared and thorough with assignments. He is well informed on topics and very intense when discussing psychology. I enjoyed his class. He is terrific. Always helpful, warm, very supportive and goes out of his way to make sure succeed.
He was one of the best professors I've ever had. He was very interesting and it is obvious that he loves his job and is knowledgeable in his subject. He is very funny and gives many opportunities to pass his class. He expects responsibility from his students.
I was so looking forward to taking Abnormal Psych but Rogers ruined it. A list why: 1)Didn't hand back tests till week before finals,2)Laughed at questions, 3)Info given in lecture conflicted with Textbook, 4)Only gave test scores so I had no idea what I got wrong, 5)Lecture was pretty much him ranting on about his personal opinions. I could go on.
Do not take an ONLINE CLASS with Dr. Rogers! Does not respond to e-mails, just leaves everything up to the program used which to him was out of his control when there were problems. There pretty much was no teacher, it was just the launchpad program and a 15 page research paper-NEVER RECEIVED a grade for it after all the work put into it.
I had a great time with this class. He was very actively engaged and responsive to the needs of students. The course was perfectly laid out and easy to follow. Professor Rogers is great. He responds to emails, follows up with calls, and is even willing to talk with you one on one face to face in his office. A lot of work but you learn a lot.
This class was fantastic. Professor Roger is organized and knows a lot about Psychology. The class was challenging, warm, friendly, and very far reaching. We cover a lot of topics and Professors was very fair in grading. He is always punctual and answers your questions. He follows up with you and is always accessible. Love the man. Great job!
Great class. Great Teacher. Awesome dude! I learned more than I expected.
Good teacher. He's straight to the point and makes class enjoyable. Wish he taught other classes more. Warm, friendly, and very attentive. The best professor I have had at CLC.
Good class and good teacher. I learned so much.
This class was perfect. Everything was organized and easy to follow. I was challenged. Good assignments. The professor responds to your phone calls and emails and follows up with you immediately. Directions are clear and I loved the organization best. I worked and took care of my kids but his program is flexible to allow you not stressed.
Take his online class and his class face to face. He is dynamic! He is passionate about psychology and very informative. Class was great. Very responsive to your need for help and returns your phone calls and emails. Very involved in class and with students.
My best class at CLC. Dr. Rogers is spectacular. Good feedback and course is very well organized and taught. Always keep you update and informed. He challenges you. He is attentive and always helpful. I want to take another course with him.
Not sure why he's teaching at a community college.. Easily one of the best professors I've ever had, should be at a university. He's hilarious, not a lot of homework, and makes being in class so much fun. Amazing teacher, take him!
Eric Rogers is great! He is very informative, passionate about what he teaches, and he will help in matters of class work or even give life advice. He's also a speaker, so he has a way with words. He's very funny and really cares about his students. If you take him, you won't regret it!
I was In his intersession class & was able to succeed because of Dr. Rogers and his willingness to help me with brainstorming ideas on our short writing assignment. He is funny, inspirational, deep/insightful and challenging all at the same time. I wish he tought engineering classes because I would love to take him agian.
I had the best Summer ever because I took Dr. Rogers. He is fabulous. The class was fast moving, intriguing, comprehensive and indepth. He came to class organized, prepared, well versed and knowledgeable of the subject. He helped me understand human behavior and to reflect and evaluate myself. Just dynamic and outstanding in his teaching.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Makes cruel comments, masochistic. gives inaccurate information and quite frankly he is very offensive. Constantly makes fun of mental illness... Ironic right? If he doesn't like you he will purposely give you bad grades. His tests are impossible DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!!!!
Dr. Rogers is a joy to have. He is always prepared and deep. His tests are challenging but fair and he always gives you support, encouragement and assistance. He is very open, respectful, receptive and sensitive to making everyone feel welcomed, comfortable and a part of the class. He is big on giving you respect and grading you fair. Love Him!!
Great Teacher! He's the best. Fair, smart, on top of it. Just awesome.
Dr. Rogers is a very funny, well respected and educated teacher. He is very opinionated but he grows on you. He provides really specific notes, will answer any questions you have and makes the class fun. You learn a lot. The tests are pretty hard, extra credit is given occasionally but not really spoken about. The majority of your grade is tests.
I had the online class and it was a tough class. He is tough but fair! I would take him again.
Professor Rogers is great. He knows Psychology and makes class challenging and rewarding. His tests are rough and he is very thorough discussing issues. He's the best teacher I have had at CLC.
Lectures you on things parents should lecture about. Doesn't talk about the material. Material on the tests weren't mentioned. I spent money on a book I never opened. Teaches things we should have known from introduction to psychology. Speaks of his own opinion for 75% of the class, ranging from sex to drugs to God and how much money he makes.
Dr. Rogers is fabulous. He makes learning applicable to real life and addresses major, personal and national issues all interrelated to class and the studying. Always willing to help you. Hard grader. Very good with class discussion and assignments. Wants you learn. You will laugh, cry, crack up and have fun.
The best teacher around. Class is very challenging, in-depth, organized and Dr. Rogers uses scientific data to substantiate alot of key issues from the text. You got to have your book and read. Test are challenging because he gives you critical thinking questions that are hard and difficult. You learn a lot and class is enjoyable.
Dr. Rogers can be funny at times, but can go on tangents about religion, and drugs. Some comments can be offensive; He came off as bigoted. Doesn't talk too much about course material in his powerpoints but tells stories instead.
Great teacher. Good class and loves his students. You learn more in this class and 3 classes combine. He makes you work for it. Class is always interesting, investigative and inspirational. Dr. Rogers rocks!
I hated the material. It was extremely boring. You have to read a billion pages a week. The tests are over a bunch of random things. I recommend getting the e-book to help search for the answers for testsquizzes better. The final was a lot of work. I'm extremely glad I'm done with that class.
This class was spectacular. The professor was really good. He was always responsive to your concerns and gave you clarity. He is very flexible and fair. The assignments were well organized and the test were a challenge. I didnt like the long 15 page paper, but I learned a lot from doing. You have to participate in the class and do homework.
I took this course online, and he was not helpful. When asked questions, he would refer me to the syllabus (which was unclear and unpractical). Basically, he did not teach, he told us of the website, and that was that. Also, it was an intro course with a 15 page paper (with not real explanations of expectations).
A very knowledgeable and opinionated person who always finishes class early to give students a chance to ask any questions. His lectures are all that you really need to know, though having the book is helpful for the study guide for the final. He tends to rant about things and can definitely get off topic but still manages to finish with time left.
Dr. Rogers is a wonderful professor who comes well prepared and will work you to death in class over the readings, topics and key points. He makes class fun and interesting and doesn't rant or go off on tangents. He shares great stories and applications and elaborates extensively so you don't miss points. Good teacher. Loved all the assignments.
Pros: Online class. Will read a lot. Many long tests (2..3 hrs long -- 100 questions). Lots of videos and exercises. If you can manage your time well, you should take this online class. Cons: At the end of the course you have to submit 15 page long research project. You will get _very_ limited feedback on this paper. Read rubric - then submit it
I don't see how anyone could rate Rogers as a good professor. He always goes off on unrelated tangents, gives his unneeded opinions on topics like God, sex, drugs, etc. He lies about what's going to be on the test, and/or doesn't teach everything that'll be on the test, and just expects the student to learn it on their own through the book.
Professor Rogers is a solid teacher. He teachers with inspiration and extensive detail. He has a great sense of humor and goes out of his way to give you study guides, in-class activities and good feedback. He is very thorough and covers the chapters well. Tests are long but fair. A dynamite teach. I look forward to every class.
Dr. R. is definitely first class. If you are mature student and responsible, please take him. He will work with you but you will learn about yourself, psychology, people and about life. He is incredible and very informative. Tough grader but good with group discussions and applications. You have to work for an A but you will be glad you did it.
Mr. Rogers is a super cool dude. He's a great teacher and is fun to learn from. He is very punctual and always has laid out plans for classwork. You get your money's worth with him. He is sharp, funny, deep in thought and can make lessons apply to life. You will laugh and learn in amazing ways. Very accessible and always helpful. Awesome dude!
Dr. Rogers is a great teacher. Love the man. Lots of work, very detailed, motivating and inspiring in class. He is consistent on grading, tests, assignments. Amazing lectures, class activities and always good feedback.
Love the professor! Lectures are amazing and interesting. Although you have to work hard to get an A
Awesome teacher just talk and be open with him he is very nice and lenient upon grading. Will definitely take him again if I could had him for psychology. A ten page paper was due at the end of class. If you do all your work you will pass.
Absolutely love Mr. Rogers! The most interesting class ever. "You will never be the same again"
Fun teacher, but his lectures are hard to follow. A lot of what's on his tests isn't what he prepares you for.
I had just had him this semester. He is so warm, nice, intelligent and very intense. I learned more in his class than I did from my 4 other classes combined. He is tough but fair. He gives you critical thinking test items. You have to know your stuff to pass. Wouldnt trade him for the world. Great teacher.
Online Class was poorly done. Uses Launchpad for his course work which is a 3rd party website that may or may not work. He assigns tests on weekends and gives little to no homework on weekdays not preparing students for the tests. Tests are worth a huge chunk of the grade and he finishes the term with a 15 page paper.
Great class. Super teacher. Love this course like crazy. Teacher is very detailed and always willing to help you. He grades tough and gives lots of extra credit.
Would not recommend online course. All work is done through an external platform that he does not appear to know how to use. Grades were off the entire semester because he added an entire exam as extra credit, even when I explained this find. Did not respond to multiple requests for help. Final project is a 15 page paper with almost no guidelines.
Dynamic professor. He is knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Very attentive, always responsive to your needs, and always returns emails, phone calls, etc Will help you anyway he can if you ask him. Tough grade and test are hard. The 15 page paper is a major requirement but he helps you every step of the way. I enjoyed him.
Dr. Rogers rocks! Smart man. He is so insightful, in-depth and challenging. Just excellent with critical thinking and makes the class enjoyable. Great feedback, patient and gives clear instructions, rules and guidelines.
If you want the best professor of Psychology, take his classes.
Dr. Rogers rocks!!! His online course is amazing. He gives constant feedback, updates and is always willing to help you. He prepares for you test and helps you one on one to complete this gigantic 15 page research paper. He pushes you but you learn and he is very organized, focused, and helps you see in-depth. Great class and great teacher.
Prof Rogers has to be the most blunt and real prof I have ever met. He is very passionate about psychology and he makes that known to the class. He's very entertaining but gets down to business. He tends to be very late on giving back grades though... last day of class is tomorrow and I still need 3 tests to be put in.. I would recommend him tho!!
Dr. R is a super guy. He is fantastic with lectures, group discussions and giving real life applications to our class. He is also inspiring. Well prepared, organized and always returns assignments and tests back quickly. Amazing professor that uses national and day to day real life issues to reflect on & address psychology and human behavior
He has a rule that if you miss class he drops your grade by a letter, so I don't suggest skipping. Lectures are very hard to follow as he goes off on weird tangents that don't always relate. Basically no homework except the paper. READ your textbook otherwise you wont know what the tests will be about. decent person, poor teacher.
Dr. Rogers is a very hard teacher but good and fair. Lots of homework with Revel and a big paper to do. He's keep the class moving and is great with critical thinking exercises that makes you apply the learning to real life. Would recommend him anytime.
Eric is a charismatic person in general. Looks aren't everything. He often tells wonderful and inspiring stories of his happiness with life and has clearly been around the block a few times. His charm, in my opinion, flows into his lectures. He's real, easy to understand, and doesn't expect too much from students. Complete the work, complete it on
He's really into politics and made psychology political on the second day of class and was quite blunt about it. Do not take!! The whole entire psychology department offers free books which I didn't know until it was too late because he uses as special book that costs like +$100... Please save your money and go to another teacher, please.
Hes super chill and laid back. His tests are difficult but fair and if you go to class then youll do fine. I didnt need the book just lecture notes. Also a huge 15 page paper due at the end of the semester. But overall not a lot of hw and fairly relaxed class.
Not very helpful! I do not recommend taking him! Awful
please don't take him, please. It's unnecessarily hard for psych
Textbook was never used in class and did not go accordingly with his lesson. Good person, lacks teaching skills. If no previous knowledge in psychology, I do not recommend taking his class.
I cannot thank Dr. Rogers enough for how much he have helped me throughout both courses. You are truly great at what you do. Thank you so much for everything! Especially making me feel even more certain about my future career in the psychology field.
Dr. R. is a fantastic professor. He is down to earth, very detailed and focused. Lots of reading. Good teacher in class. Always good to give you feedback and to respond to your needs. He is very knowledge of his course material. Works hard to help you succeed. He gives real life examples with perspectives on life. Absolutely the best prof!
Mr. Rogers is a wonderful dynamic professor. Very organized. Good with lectures. Leads class discussions and gives class applications for you to learn. He is phenomenal in terms of content and discussing issues. He enjoys your questions and comments and loves class discussion. Class was a blast.
I like him. He is great as a teacher. You learn more than you bargained for. Tests are fair. He gives extra credit. He is very understanding and respectful. Everyone is to be respected in class no matter what you race, age, gender, lifestyle, and beliefs. He is well prepared and class is a great learning journey. Wish I could take him again.
The textbook was useful for studying for tests and almost every homework assignment was for extra credit only. There is a 12 (approximately) page paper, you get to write it on any psychological subject you want and you can use as little or as much information learned in class in your paper as you wish, you are given the entire semester to do it.
He failed me on my paper because I didn't submit a paper topic on time. I made a typo on his email while attempting to submit a topic. After realizing this and explaining the issue, and waiting 9 days for a response, he finally replied telling me there was nothing he could do. So I lost 20 percent of my grade due to a typo.
Prof. Rogers is great. Love his class. He is very organized and prepared. You learn a lot. Lots of homework. Good class discussions. Wants you to learn. Gives you lots of support and encouragement. The best at teaching.
Great teacher. Very hard tests. Good class discussions. He will make you work for your grade. Great sense of humor. You will fell respected, love, and encouraged to learn. Dynamic person to talk to. Excellent professor! I want to take him again!
He said if you skip class he will lower 1 letter grade which never happened. He didnt even remember names. Assigned a 15 page essay, but briefly mentioned how he might add to the page count in future classes. His tests are around 100 questions. Really made me view the world differently, didnt sugar coat anything. Its a hard class, but worth it.
I took a graduate-level psy course through the University Center at CLC for a masters degree through Concordia University Chicago. Dr. Rogers is a terrible teacher. He wasted time and omitted a significant amount of information in a class attended by motivated students who need to pass a state licensing exam. Disappointing to say the least.
Dr. R is super! Very direct and a great teacher. He knows his subject matter. Dr. R very thorough and insightful. You feel learn a lot and you really think in amazing ways when you take him. He is very patient and very good at teaching complex issues and making them simple. Love the man. Awesome guy. Take him. He is fabulous.
Professor Rogers is excellent. Great with teaching. Good counselor and advisor. He is dynamic in a classroom and inspires you beyond measure. Knows his stuff. He is creative, artistic and makes you think outside the box. I was challenged and intimidated but learned more with him as my professor than all the professors I have taken combined.
I took Eric Roger years ago. He was and still is my favorite teacher! I'd rather go to his class than a standup comedy special. He is an absolute riot and I looked forward to going to his classes every week. If you ever have the chance to take him he is so amazing and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I learned and experienced so much with it.
Dr. Rogers is outstanding, phenomenal and dynamic. Very organized, detailed, focused and very knowledgeable of his subject matter. Excellent manners, shows respect, very intense, provocative and challenging in group discussions, assignments. He is a joy to have as a teacher.
Great guy. He is respectful, direct and challenging. He always come to class very prepared, focus and covers a lot of thing in-depth. He doesnt tolerate sexism, racism or classism and has a great sense of humor. He is solid on his Christian values and is powerful in class lectures and discussions. Love this guy and his teaching.
He is fabulous. Dr. Rogers is a little progessive, a little old-fashion traditional and a man before his time. He is great at placing devils'advocate in class and he really makes you think. Test are hard, lectures are good and enjoyable and always make you think for the next week until you meet again. He is very nice.
Dr. R teachers with passion and knows his content. He is always respectful, funny and very engaging. My family had COVID and he went out of his way to help me with assignments, homework and tests. He was there for me You wont like or agree with everything he says but he is fair. Very non-political/non-sexist, non-bias. Everybody is welcomed.
I didnt have a ton of interaction with him because I took this class online. We did everything through the website for the textbook so most of the assignments were auto-graded quizzes about the book. He did give lots of extra credit. He assigns a 15 page paper thats due at the end of the semester. Its a huge amount of work but it can be done.
I took a 3 hour lecture with him and the class didn't feel that long cause he can turn everything into an educational conversation. He will have you laughing throughout the whole lecture. He assigns a 15 page paper for the final and it was much easier to write than i first thought. Do the practices he assigns and youll get an easy A on every time.
Professor Rogers is great. He makes lectures interactive and fun. He is very funny and understanding. Uses slides, gives study guides, and provides extra credit. You do have to write a 15 page paper but its not hard if you work on it throughout the semester. No retakes on exams unless of an emergency. Very little homework. Cares about students!
I had this teacher back in 2015 and I still remember & think about him! He helped me so much mentally & academically! I'm not the best writer so the class was a bit difficult but if you try, he sees & you will pass. He is my #1 favorite professor at CLC. Keep in mind I attend Harper now bc I hate CLC. I totally recommend this professor though!
Awesome professor. He challenged me, inspired me and enabled me to be best I could ever be. Super professor. Always prepared, great sense of humor, down to earth and just a fabulous and wonderful guy. Best professor I have had in college.
Dr. Rogers is a cool dude. He is indepth, very organized, focused, and he makes you laugh. I learned a lot. I worked hard. He was total gentleman and gives everyone respect. I grew in so many ways and I have him to thank. He is a great teacher!
What can I say? He is dynamic, disciplined, very smart and super fantastic professor. His teaching is amazing. He knows his stuff. Got a memory like a elephant and the man quote the book, authors, famous people and recall historical facts, events, trivia and information like crazy. I love this man. He leaves you spell bound when he lectures.
Dynamic professor. Challenging. Great sense of humor. He makes you think deeply. Very respectful. Awesome teacher. Very invigorating and enlightening. Knowledge of Psychology is outstanding. Very good teacher. Totally objective on subjects an issues. He just tells it like it is. Great guy!
Dr. Rogers is the G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time). Classy, smart, always a gentleman and excitingly profound in the classroom. He is an amazing teacher. The best professor I have ever had in college.
