He is great he helps you pass even if you dont understand psychology very well.
its such a hard class for me, well mostly the tests
I learned so much in his class! He's very thorough and organized and he's a very entertaining individual which helps you pay attention! As long as you pay attention and do the study guides he kindly provides, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. :)
Great Professor! Very entertaining, organized, and extremely funny! No one should get less than a B in this class, because he offers so many chances to get extra credit, study guides, and crystal clear lectures on the test material. Good luck, you are in good hands!
He is a great teacher, very organized and willing to help, even though he doesn't take attendance I would recommend being in his class daily. He does test and a couple of homework assignments, but is great with extra credit and study guides. DO NOT MISS any of his test, he will not let you make them up!!!!
i put down a 5 for textbook even though he doesnt use it for anything but the study guide..... READ THE BOOK!!! He is really good. he welcomes questions, he makes jokes. i love his class. he just wants u to respect his class and everything will be good(no cell phones)
Very Good teacher. Helpful and most of all funny. Totally recommended :)
Very nice and funny. Be on time and come to class even though it is not mandatory because everything on tests covered in class. Homework is a if you do it you get a 100%.
Prof Seelau is amazing! Human growth is a very interesting but complex subject and he does a great job explaining it. Attendance is not mandatory because some sections are self-explanatory, but he gives out LOTS of easy(really easy) extra credit if you are there. I got an A on his class and it did not require mass amounts of time and studying.:)
I took him MWF in the morning and I was so hesitant because i'm not a morning person but Dr.Seelau is not an overwhelming guy and he is very funny! Do what you're supposed to look over the provided study guides and it is an easy class to pass! I loved him
Best professor until this day! Very interesting classes, well organized. Funny and targets different learning abilities using videos and tables for many of his lectures. Lots of extra credit is given and study guides for exams. Read the book and do the hw and you are guaranteed a good grade. I took 4 other classes plus this one and still did well.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. He is hilarious and constantly makes me laugh. He teaches the subject very easily and engages your attention. Has random extra credit quizzes which are easy, a few quizzes online (can get 100), and 4 tests with optional final. His tests are fair but if you use the study guide you'll do well. Highly recommend!!
Really good professor! He incorporates videos and some good examples in some of his lessons. He's quite funny too. Be forewarned though, do NOT use your phone/iPad/laptop during class unless you want to be called out in front of everyone. Aside from that, just do the study guide and read and you'll be fine!
He was an okay professor. His tests are very very hard, make sure you read the textbook and study because his tests are all textbook based. Take lots of notes too. His lectures are intersting
Lectures are interesting. He does give extra credit opportunities (including a 5th test which is optional... he counts your 4 highest test scores). However, his tests are EXTREMELY tough, and if you can't show up for a test, he won't let you retake it. Extra tip, do not even glance at your phone in his class, or he will humiliate you to everyone!
Professor Seelau's lectures are worth showing up for, even at nine in the morning. He really knows his stuff, and always finds a way to make the material interesting. There are a ton of extra credit opportunities, and he posts study guides for all of his tests. Don't use your cellphone in class, though, because he WILL call you out on it.
He is a Hilarious professor. He does not like his students to use any electronics like cellphones. His lectures are interesting and he is hilarious. His test are 50 mcq, all conceptual. A book is must! best part is finals are cummalative which is optional!!
Four tests that are multiple choice. Tests are based off of powerpoint notes and textbook. Final is optional and it replaces your lowest grade. Give pop quizzes BUT they are only for extra credit. He's really nice but does not like cell phone interruptions during class. Good class to go to, got an A.
He is a good teacher, and he makes the class very interesting. Only con is that tests are SUPER HARD! Even though I took notes in every class and read the textbook, I barely passed with a B. The good news is, he does give lots of extra credit. But beware, he is no easy A!
Professor Seelau (SEE-law) is an entertaining teacher. He keeps you interested in the lesson and makes it easy to learn. He often gives random extra credit quizzes. Most of the work consists of Chapter tests on WILEY PLUS. He usually lets you know in advance when things are due. Studying or reviewing is key to passing, but it is not hard.
Makes the long classes bearable. Keeps you focused and engaged.
Awesome Professor! He is very helpful with anything you get stuck or confused with, uses power points for lectures and is clear and to the point with notes. Everything in the notes will appear on the test. Gives Pop Quizzes for extra credit, only hard part about the class is the 50 question multiple choice test. Study and you will get an A
The key to passing is knowing all the vocab words and going to class. There were 7 extra credit quizzes and added bonus curved points. LOTS OF READING and lots of homework. Tests are hard because they are abstract. Always willing to lend a hand. Offers good study guides on where to direct your efforts.
This professor is amazing! His notes and lecture are clear. He gives quizzes, few in-class assignments, extra credit pop quizzes, and study guides. There is truly no reason not to pass his class. Go to class, the lecture notes are not posted online. The final is optional and can only help you. Take his class!
Great teacher! Good notes. Expect to read book. I didn't study much and still ended up with a High B. Overall loved it
Professor Seelau was awesome! His classes can seem a bit long at times but he makes it pretty interesting. He's super funny but he is not a fan of phones or disrupting the class. His tests were a bit hard but he gave study guides that helped a lot!! Gave extra credit pop quizzes, don't hurt only helps. His final was optional, and only helped.
Professor Seelau is very intelligent and teaches psychology in an interesting, pretty engaging manner. He interacts with the class and does not like cell phones! I would study very hard for the tests and usually end up with a mid B, so make sure you are using text book information as well as the notes. And he doesn't care about attendance!
I took Prof. Seelau as an online class for Human growth and Development. I love the fact that he is very clear with his grading and he gives appropriate feedback as necessary and gives them timely. His assignments make you think and reflect. Be ready to read a lot, but you will also learn a lot!
Professor Seelaus lectures are great. He gives awesome examples and explains everything clearly. He does not let you use your cell phones in class at all. He also give extra credit pop quizzes. His test are easy if you study whats exactly on the study guide as the exams are all multiple choice.
Amazing professor!
Missed one quiz due and emergency i encountered and I still passed the class with an A. always gave good feed back on discussions, always there for help no matter what time of the day it is. I really enjoyed the class. the class was not hard at all just read the book and you will ace the class.
I took the Mini-A term. It was easy and hard at the same time. This course consisted reading the material, assignments/quizzes, project/discussion and final exam non proctor. Have questions? He goes in depth of explaining them. Best professor ever!
I loved Dr. Seelau, and he loves what he does. I'm pretty sure every class I'd walk into he'd be browsing the web for the latest studies and recent research in his field. It wasn't a hard class. I knew people who studied the night before and passed the class. I read and got an A. Just exams and extra credit from what I can remember. No papers.
Great professor. Loved the no phone rule. Pay attention and read the books, he gives amazing study guides.
Never takes attendance, but I show up every class. He has interesting, right to the point lectures. Also, you get extra credit pop quizzes in class, they REALLY can boost your grade up. Tests are moderately difficult, study your notes & his study guide , skim the book, youll get a B. Sarcastic but in a funny way, very intelligent, loves questions.
GREAT TEACHER. NOT HEAVY ON THE BOOK. NOT NEEDED FOR IN CLASS BUT HE WILL SOMETIMES THROW QUESTIONS FOR TEST THAT ARE NOT DISCUSSED IN CLASS AND ARE IN THE BOOK.
Took his class online. Mainly only weekly discussions and quizzes, one project and the final. He was a little bit of a tough grader, and to get a good grade discussions needed to be very detailed. Quizzes were a little difficult, all in the book though. He gives good feedback and seems nice. Not a super difficult class, the book was interesting.
I loved Dr. Seelau, his lectures are always interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He loves what he does and gives good demonstrations. His class was actually fairly easy, just show up and take notes and study for his exams, they're usually right to the point exams.
he shows notes in class but we are expected to use the textbook as well. the notes he goes over is barely on the test and the study guides can be helpful but not very much. his lectures can be boring so i would recommend taking a class later in the day
The best lecture teacher I've ever met. Dr. Seelau is very funny and interesting to listen to. He expects you to read, but as long as you complete his study guides and STUDY you will get an A on the tests. Take notes on his lectures, as he gives a lot of answers in class. Anything else can be found in the book by skimming the chapters.
Took him online for a mini course. There are 7 quizzes, 5 discussions, one major assignment and of course the final. The quizzes are easy, most of the answers are on quizlet but not all of them, so get the textbook if you want an A. It was a pretty easy class to pass, recommend it for an easy A.
Easy A for a mini course. There are 7 quizzes and theyre like 38% of your grade, so try on them. He gives you 2 attempts.
I took him for PSY 2012 Mini-A online. This class is definitely a challenge. Be prepared to memorize concepts and theories. You will do two modules a week, each including a quiz and discussion. His quizzes/final are hard. One final project and two finals. You must have a good understanding. If you study hard, you will be successful.
He is going to be easy for you. He has lots of pop quizzes and those are counted as extra credit. Make sure to use his study guide for his exams. Study, study, and study. The only way you are going to get an A.
Gives lots of extra Credit quizzes . He talks a lot can get a bit boring but he gives you all the information
Dr. Seelau is absolutely fantastic. His lectures are engaging and entertaining. Taking notes through the lecture will ensure you have knowledge needed for the tmajority of exams and where all extra credit pop quiz questions come from. There is reading assigned in the book that is on exams. Study guides are worth doing!
I loved this class. Attendance isnt mandatory which means I usually wouldnt go but I actually wanted to go to class. Its important to go to class because he covers a lot of material in every class. He offers pop quizzes for extra credit multiple times per unit. Amazing class.
Professor is great, I enjoyed taking him online for a mini term. He also gives 2 attempts on tests! :) Easy A.
I took him for mini A online. Book is required to use for an essay and to prepare for the exams. Attendance just do all your work on time. If you have any questions he will respond immediately and is accessible outside of class. I like how it's not proctor because it benefits with my schedule. Take him!!
Super easy class so long as you turn everything in on time and follow the reading.
Best psych professor at FSW. This course is an Easy A. If you've never taken an online class before, I suggest you start with this one. There's one big final project, its a powerpoint, you can literally do it the night before.
This class was easy, and he made his own powerpoints that really helped you understand psychology. He offered extra credit pop quizzes almost all the time. Barley gives assignments. He was a good professor.
Dr. Seelau is a great professor! All his assignments will have a purpose and relate to the reading. Can quickly get into a routine on due dates Took it for Summer mini-A class and passed with an A. Read two chapters a week, weekly discussions and quizzes and a final presentation. Lots of work but goes by fast. Easy to pass if you read the material.
I thought I would hate this class, but this professor showed me how interesting it really is! His 4 tests are all based on his powerpoints (only given in class) each test 50 questions, he droped the lowest test score meaning i did not have to take my final! He does some group work but also extra credit at the begining of class so dont be late!
He is funny, He doesn't like phones and if you don't show up to class. he doesn't care. he doesn't post notes online.
He is a great professor ! you need to get the text book. I suggest reading the pages before the class take notes then take additional notes in class . Everything he lectures about will be in the exams. Does give extra credit (must be in class to get the extra credit) Highly suggest taking this class with him! - Fyi no phones allowed .
Professor is great, Super nice and a great lecturer ! Test are easy if you do the study guide. Study guide is really straightforward on exactly what is on the test. Gives a lot of extra credit pop quizzes which can really help your grade, but you must be on time in class to take them. Overall really enjoyed the class and learned alot.
Professor Seelau is one of my favorites Ive taken at FSW. Hes super nice and will ask any questions. only thing you need to do for the class is study for the tests and a couple online assignments. As long as you look at the study guide, youll be perfectly fine. dont take your phone out. Learned a lot from his psych class!
Great professor. He lectures from powerpoints and gives pop quizzes but only for extra credit. Tests correspond with study guides, and we had almost no homework. Show up to class and pay attention and you wont have to study much.
Great professor. tough test. very lecture-heavy.
I took his class for a mini A, and it was an easy A. He gives homework but not to the point where it will overwhelm you. Very informational class, you can actually understand/learn something and it is not boring. Beware of are due dates! Do the work and turn it in on time. He will even remind you the day of that an assignment is due.
took 6 classes while working full-time, this was a mini and an easy A. 2 tries on module exams and 3 tries for quizzes and nothing is proctored. your welcome! he is the best and send reminders for assignments . turned one late by accident and gave full credit. i would take 100 classes a semester if they were set up like this.
Excellent professor. Class is an easy A if you study just a bit.
He is very monotone. Hard to hear sometimes and you lose focus easily. Not the most exciting professor, but nice guy. He does some extra credit.
This class is relatively easy for a mini-course. Make sure that you are on time with quiz due dates he is NOT FLEXIBLE. If you miss a quiz, too bad for you he does not care to hear excuses. Quizzes are every 4 days so be prepared to do a lot of work. There are 1 or 2 discussions a week and 1 paper at the end. Overall, it was not a horrible class.
Such a great and engaging professor who genuinely cares if you learn the material. Tests are easy, especially if you do the study guides. Didn't need the textbook and decent extra credit pop quizzes. Passed with 100%, I recommend him to everyone at FSW.
He is a good professor I just wish he did more hands on instead of reading words off of powerpoints. The class was very fun and I learned so much about psychology. The grading criteria is easy(study and you will pass) a lot of extra credit quizzes at the beginning of class. Overall, it was a good class to take.
Doctor Seelau is definitely a more tough professor, but by no means bad. He is strict about coming to class on time and being on your phone (Don't do it!), but his lectures contain most of the stuff you need to know for exams. He has plenty of extra credit pop quizzes too. With a little studying and taking notes in class, this class is pretty easy.
Awesome class, super interesting discussions. Very easy class and highly recommend if you need a psych course, especially if you are just starting online. If you get the Mini-A term it will be a lot of work in a short period of time but still manageable as long as you focus. Final project was an infograph and very fun. Final test was not difficult.
Professor Seelau is a good psychology professor but doesn't expect him to be lenient. If you want to pass his class, you need to show up and pay attention. He has no tolerance for phones or electronics. One of his regular sayings is "you don't have to be here if you don't want to." He uses his own power points and does not post them.
Dr. Seelau is the best! He reminds you when quizzes and tests are due. If you communicate with him he will do his best to make the class better for you. Would definitely take his class again.
It is somewhat easy as long as you do the assigned reading. He has 3 "practice quizzes" that help you know what's going to be on the chapter quiz. Only dislike is that he is NOT FLEXIBLE, which is surprising for a PSYCH instructor and this pandemic. Miss a quiz? Too bad, he doesn't care. Not a horrible class, just do the work and you will pass.
This class is very heavy on reading, as long as you read each chapter in full before taking the quizzes and you'll pass no problem. The textbook is free online. Each chapter has a quiz with 3 practice attempts. Some chapters have assignments/discussions to go with them. He sends out several reminders a week to help you stay on track. HW due weekly.
Don't bother. Little instruction. Lots of busy work. No-ones got time for that.
Constant kind reminders of when assignments are due. Be sure to read and take detailed notes on PowerPoint lectures. Make sure to take practice quizzes!
This class is pretty straight forward and one of the most organized online classes I have taken so far. Dr. Seelau sends out reminders on when things are to be submitted. An online textbook is used so expect to take notes and read a chapter each week as you have chapter quizzes and discussions:)
Professor Eric Seelau is a wonderful professor. He sends reminders for assignment due dates regularly. His course consists of discussions, quizzes, projects, and finals. The work was relatively easy, but you need to read, as all of the work references the textbook. He gives excellent feedback and is a fair grader if you put in the effort.
Great professor really cares about his students. There are a lot of assignments & discussions but if you do the reading you will pass. Available outside of class sends reminders ALL of the time. If you need him to explain a concept he answers within an hour most of the time. Very fair grading and gives lots of feedback. Taken him twice,he's awesome
Professor Seelau's class was great! He definitely holds you accountable for the work you have to do. He sends out weekly reminders when assignments are about to be due. Assignments can be a bit difficult sometimes because there are long chapters you have to read and you can only do the quiz once. Read the chapters thoroughly and you will pass.
Taking this class made me realize, I did not want to dedicate my career to the medical field. It was easy for the most part, but he doesn't give you many opportunities to work on your grade. Quizzes are a lot of questions for a short amount of time given. Assignments were tacky & you have a lot to read each week. In person would've been better.
He will answer your emails fast. He has no problem doing it if you want feedback on an assignment. He tries his best to explain topics through a message since this was a fully online class. I struggled a lot with the weekly quizzes. He makes them tricky to understand. For the final and midterm exam, NO reviews were provided.
Professor Eric was a great professor. He made sure that we turned in our assignments and he was very caring. Although, his class can be a bit challenging if you don't read the textbook (pretty long textbook). He isn't a tough grader in the sense of assignments, but his quizzes were a bit complicated.
This was an interesting class. I took a mini course and the workload was more than fair. 2 chapters a week with a discussion and quiz. 2 papers that are not hard or too long. One tip is that the tests will have random facts from the textbook to make sure you are actually reading and paying attention. Can't get an A unless you actually read.
I took this class as a "mini course" and was super scared it was going to be hard. BUT it was NOT. I'm grateful for this Professor, the assignments were straightforward. He expects work on certain dates, but accepts late with a deduction of percentage of the grade. I wasn't late on any work, but I'm sure that helps other busier students.
Prof Seelau's class was very interesting, but he makes his quizzes very tricky and doesn't give enough time for them. Doesn't provide a study guide for the midterm or final, and lots of reading weekly
I enjoyed Professor Seelau's class. He is fair and communicates with students regarding upcoming assignments and their due dates. You have to read the chapters in order to score well on the quizzes. I would take another course with him, if needed.
Professor Seelau is an amazing professor. To begin off if you're going to take an online class with him just get ready to read. READ! His quizzes are based on little facts that were based in the textbook and he makes all his quizzes by himself. His quizzes are 30 mins long. Overall, you can pass as long as you turn in your work on time and read.
Just finished this class as a mini-term. It was one of the best psychology classes I have taken. Work load was fine. Quiz every week, if you read the chapters you will score 100%. Questions come from the text. Only three assignments and they were fun. I actually enjoyed the discussions for once.
Dr. Seelau is great! He communicates and responds in a timely manner. I took him for a Mini term and although condensed, it was an overall good experience. If you decide on an online class, the textbook is online & free through Openstax.
I loved Professor Seelau, he's super kind and easy going. There are 4 graded exams and the 5th being optional. Exams are 55% of your grade, so STUDY hard. Very minimal homework, just weekly 10 question quizzes. I took this as a blended class, so it's more of you being in charge of your learning and lectures would be posted on canvas.
Great professor. He is very caring but you do have to study A LOT. If you are just starting take him he is great!
Very kind & understanding, free textbook (never used it anyway), interesting lectures, fun class, simple grader, all in all a perfect class. I don't have a single negative thing to say about him or the class. Take his class, trust me, easy A!
Tough class, so get ready to read! He takes points off for sentence structure and etc. Discussions and test are due every week. Discussions require you to reply back to a classmate. For tests (read the chapter, and do multiple practice tests, test questions are similar to them). Test questions are paragraph scenarios and not enough time for test.
This class was fine. Professor Seelau is passive-aggressive but a pretty good teacher and made the lectures enjoyable for the most part. There wasn't a huge workload, which I appreciated, but there are a few quizzes that you should do well on. He takes attendance very seriously and hates it when people are late.
Professor sets up his classes weird and is extremely rude if you ask him a question or if you come to class and are a little late. He will stop what he's doing and yell about how you're coming in late. Very unprofessional and childish seeing as I'm paying for me to be here. He is also the only professor to make some exams not count but some do.
I believe he was a great professor. Very professional. He doesn't like you coming in late, it's interrupting lecture which is understandable. He gives study guides that help you on tests. Textbook is free/online. The discussion posts are interesting and easy. He asks us to participate. If you come prepared to class, you shouldn't have any issues.
This professor was great! Provided many opportunities to learn and practice. Lots of practice quizzes and attempts. Detailed study guides and great presentations and visuals. I really enjoyed this class. I felt very engaged and prepared. He is very nice!
Professor Seelau is great - engaging lectures and a fair grader. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of the readings. unstuck study was super helpful for reviewing key concepts before exams.
THE STUDY GUIDES HELP!!! Favorite professor I've had yet. He was very engaging and made the content enjoyable. Lots of material covered in class. Two things that stuck with me from his course was the effectiveness of breaking down notes to better understand the material alongside rest and that dogs and cats only really see yellow and blue hues.
Professor Seelau was super great at teaching psychology in a way where you could understand it and apply it to things around you! His tests weren't hard and if you did the homework, you'll do well on the tests. Attendance is mandatory and the lectures do help! The final is optional if you have an A in his class by the end of the semester!!
He was so strict test is 100% of your grade every two weeks testing and always thinking people cheating🤬
I took Dr. Seelau's Fall 25 mini (6 weeks) Psychology class online. It was pretty easy. Every week you reply to a discussion post, complete an assignment related to the chapter(s), and take a 40 question quiz. If you read the textbook you will be fine. There is one project that is assigned closer to the end of the course, it was pretty easy.
