He is very enthusiastic about what he is teaching and genuinely wants his students to be enthusiastic about it too. Very easy if you go to class, pay attention, and study for tests.

Eric is a very enthusiastic teacher. He is also very helpful on the class discussion board, and he will curve the tests if there are not enough A's. You should be able to get an A in here if you are at class (lots of attendance points are available) and do a little studying. Not much reading is involved (10-20 pages per week).

He's hot, funny and very excited about weather. There is a bit of challenge problems, online quizzes and ALE's, but the discussion boards are a great help. Though he speeds through lecture slides, the class is very laid back. All in all Snodgrass doesn't care about how much he challenges you, he just wants you to be as excited about the subject as

Eric is soo funny, loves to show Youtube videos even if they are goofy weather videos. Very sincere, very helpful in anyway he can be. Grading is pretty nice, he gives some extra credit and makes life seem pretty relaxing!! I definitely recommend him! He's fun and I'm going to miss that class!!

Professor Snodgrass is a little cutie. He is seriously the nicest guy and best teacher. He explains everything very clearly and has a lot of enthusiasm teaching everything. All of his notes are online, but he gives you points for coming to class which are quite helpful because they do add up and help your grade in the end.

Professor Eric was a great teacher. He was so enthusiastic about this subject and as a result, I also really liked learning about this subject that I did not have much interest or knowledge in before. He also really wants to have students do well. He gives so many office hours and offered chances for students to raise their grades in a fair way.

About 45% of your grade is based on easy assignments. Eric was super enthusiastic and tried to make lecture fun, even though I still managed to sleep through half of it. Don't blow off exams, but overall it's an easy A if you pay attention and take notes w/ the powerpoints. And I agree, he's definitely a cutie.

Snodgrass is the best Professor that I yet. He keep you interested in the material. He seemed to be very interested in the material. The test as long as you went to class the tests were pretty easy.

Prof. Snodgrass made ATMS 120 one of those classes you actually enjoy going to. He is very excited to teach, which is sometimes unusual to see out of professors. He had to rush through some material, but made things that were normally above my head understandable. Homework and quizzes were pretty easy as long as you do the reading Buy the book.

This course wasn't as easy as I had anticipated. It requires a fair amount of reading as well as work. The material is pretty compact and the exams require a good amount of studying. However, Snodgrass is a very good instructor and tries to make his class exciting. His lectures can sometimes get a little boring; most of the time he makes class fun.

Snodgrass is a really great teacher. I'm not interested in weather but he makes thunderstorm formation sound interesting. He's also very nice and helpful if you forget to submit an online homework and distributes grades so that tests aren't the main focus, but in order to get these points you have to go to class. Often shows videos in class.

Professor Snograss is my favorite teacher on campus. He is very helpful and understanding. He is one of those teachers that will personally help you if you need help in the class. I would suggest taking this class, snodgrass makes it very exciting and fun.

Class is a breeze. You have to go to lectures because you get points for doing in class excercises (graded for completion only). Homework is a bit challenging but you get plenty of hints and help to do it. Exams aren't too bad either. Plenty of extra credit. Guaranteed A if you do the minimum.

I took Professor Snodgrass' Atmos 120 course in Spring 2007. This was a very intriguing course and fairly easy if you kept on top of things. I highly recommend him as a professor. Just keep your cell phone off in his class though.

Snodgrass is a high-energy professor who really enjoys teaching, which makes his class easier to sit through. Go to lecture to get attendance points (or just have your friend bring your iclicker), do the online HW's on time and study just a few hours for the tests (which are curved) you should get an A. The hw's were actually harder than the tests

Whether it is the great stories of his atmospheric career or the way he gives men pointers on keeping commitments to their wives, Snodgross is the man! I laugh everyday at this ma's humor and enjoy every class. He explains topics extremely well and loves weather. His exams are to the point and do not try to trick you.

Eric is a fantastic teacher! He really loves teaching and has great videos. When class gets boring, he knows it and will show videos to perk the class up. If you do your homework and read the discussion on compass about it you can get 100% on all of the homework. He is great about answering homework questions online

Snodgrass is as good of a professor you will ever have. Take his class! I have never seen a professor go to such lengths to help his students and he finds ways to always make the class interesting. Go to class, do the assignments, and study for the exams and you should get an A pretty easily.

Eric is probably the greatest thing that has happened to General Education and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois. This is my favorite class to go to because he is so passionate in teacher. Not only that, but he is good at it. He is very animated and easy to follow, if you don't understand something, he will explain it to you till you get it. You watch plenty of videos to keep you entertained in class and you actually learn something, HE IS THE BEST!

I LOVE this class, he's so cool, down to earth, funny, and young. He's always talking about the Office, showing videos, making jokes, I never miss this class and if you study and go to lectures, you should be good. I got an A on both exams so far. Great teacher! His atmos 201 class is a step above atms 100 or atms 120, however its still very straight forward and relatively easy. He's very enthusiastic about teaching and probably one of the greatest teachers on campus. I would highly recommend any class taught by him

I took this class trying to fill up hours and boost my GPA, which it did, but I also learned a whole lot too. Just go to class and take notes and you'll do fine on the homework and exams and get an easy A. I actually looked forward to going to class and can genuinely say that I learned something new every time I went. Snodgrass is the greatest.

Gotta love this guy. Somebody give him a raise please. As the James Bond of meteorology, Eric teaches with tons of YouTube videos and loves storm pictures and the Office. The power points were great, especial the snow storms section. Brings in candy sometimes. Super nice, loves cars too. I will never storm chase with a sun roof. That's a promise.

I am an atmospheric sciences major, and took atms 120 and 201 with him. Not only is he an amazing teacher, but he is a great guy, and super helpful to his students. It seems like he's always busy, but he will make the time to help you out with anything. He's definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Snodgrass wants his class to be an easy A. It's actually interesting and it fulfills the Physical Science Gen Ed. Definitely take it if you can get in. Also, you need the workbook, but rarely need the textbook for assignments.

I took 120 and 201 with him. He is simply the best professor ever. He never tests you on anything he didn't teach. He is so enthusiastic everyday and is extremely helpful even though he's busy all the time. His main concern is teaching you, but by the end of the semester, he just wants to give you all A's. I <3 E Snoddy. I hear the top regrets from Illinois students after they graduate is 1) not studying abroad, then followed by a close second, not taking ATMS 120. TAKE THIS CLASS BEFORE YOU GRADUATE! Class is super interesting and fun, and Snodgrass is hysterical. My only regret is not winning an "I love meteorology" keychain.

He's really excited about teaching, and doesn't play tricks. Everything is pretty straight forward and if you go/read then it's easy. I assume it wouldn't be bad if you rarely went, but it's a great class with quite a bit of practicality. It makes you so much more aware and it's fun. He gives you notes and all you do is fill in a few blanks.

He is an awesome instructor. He's funny, cool, witty, etc. And his class is THE most practical class I've ever taken. You learn a lot of interesting and practical information. I highly recommend taking this class even if it's not for a gen ed requirement.

He's like the cooler older brother I never had. We were studying Hurricanes, so he played Cyclone by Baby Bash in class. The material is actually pretty interesting too, since it can be applied to every day life. It's pretty easy to get an A+. If you are lucky enough to snag a seat in his class, enjoy it! Snodgrass runs U of I, end of story.

I've had Eric for ATMS 120 and 201 now. He is also my advisor. I can say this man is truly passionate about the material. He is great at explaining everything and makes sure you understand it. Easy professor. Although there were a lot of work, such as weekly challenge problem, Active learning exercise every class, and online homework, however, the exam is online also, so you can always do it with open notes. Also there was like 5% extra credit points, which was helpful. Professor said majority of the student in this class got an A.

Professor Snodgrass is very helpful. He was always available. Since this was a summer class it went kind of fast but there were 3 tests and 20, 10 questions quizzes. The material isn't easy or hard. But at the end he raised everyone's grade by 2%. I'd recommend him to everyone he's very nice.

I've never had a prof that was more excited about teaching and the material than he was. I love going to class, and even though I'm a very spacey person, he'd never lose my attention. Take this course if you can.

He is an excellent instructor. If you think it is impossible for someone to be this nice, think again. He has a true passion for severe weather. As for the course work if you don't do so well on one assignment, you have plenty of opportunities to make it up with mini extra credit assignments given twice every week. It is a very fun class.

He is by far the best professor on the face of the Earth! He is also so enthusiastic and willing to help. He has an amazing way of teaching, which makes even hard topics seem easy. There are 2 non cumulative midterms and 1 final. He doesn't try to trick you at all. Class was easy and very fair, plus you actually find yourself learning quite a bit.

Super friendly. Lectures were lively and interesting, with anecdotes interspersed between lecture content. He really enjoys teaching and loves atmospheric sciences. All assignments/exams/notes are online and he encourages you to collaborate. Textbook rarely used, so don't buy. Bring your laptop to class to fill in his PowerPoint notes.

This is my absolute favorite class I have taken at UIUC and he is my favorite teacher I have had at UIUC.

Easy class with good information. Try and take it with people you know. It'll be a lot easier that way! Weekly challenge problems (math because it covers a Quant II) and exams he encourages you to take with others. Book is optional but DONT GET IT. I used it once and realized I didn't have to for the rest of the class. Attendance 25% of grade.

The perfect gen ed class for non-STEM majors (fulfills both sciences and QR1). Class is mandatory due to iClickers. Tests are all online and the final is optional. You should buy the textbook if you want to do the work. For people with an actual interest in the material, Snodgrass is very passionate about his field.

This is one of the best classes I have taken at UIUC. The course material is pretty interesting. There are 3 exams, but all the stuff you need to know are on the lectures. The class is very straightforward. I really appreciate that because there are classes where the exams are super tough. Overall, I would take this class again and would recommend!

This class was one of my favorites at UIUC. I decided to take it after a tree almost fell on my car during a microburst. This class will teach you weather safety and is very interesting and engaging to boot. Prof Snodgrass is clearly passionate about the subject matter and tells memorable and often hilarious anecdotes. Class was always packed!

All exams were online even though the class met in person. ERIC SNODGRASS IS A WONDERFUL PROFESSOR AND HUMAN BEING. I would take this class multiple times if I had the time.

Definitely not as easy at ATMS 120, but still a really good class. If you put in the work, you can literally guarantee an A+. You are allowed to post solutions to the daily homework on the class discussion board, and the tests are very fair. Snodgrass is one of those rare professors who doesn't take pride in failing students.

I graduated from uiuc in 2015, and took atms 120 my sophomore year. by far the best and most memorable class I ever took, and I still use my knowledge to this day. Made information relevant to class material. Please show up to class, it pays off! Gives extra credit and also allows students to take exams at home. Used videos and images. Made lecture enjoyable yet applicable. Learned more than weather but also tips to survive. Would definitely take again!

Extremely easy class. Can't imagine a scenario where any non science major would not take this as one of their 2 science gen ends. Snodgrass is funny, an engaging lecturer and you're basically guaranteed an A so long as you try at all.

Prof snodgrass knows a crazy amount about the atmosphere and life in general. A lot of people choose this for a blow-off class because of the level of difficulty. But, if you pay attention you will truly learn a lot of very applicable information.

Snodgrass is amazing. I am sad that I am no longer in his class, but I still feel the urge to send him any weather pictures I have when I get the chance. His lectures are absolutely hilarious and so interesting. ATMS120 is super easy. 30% of the grade is guaranteed just by showing up, only 10 short HW assignments, easy online tests, and lots of EC

Snodgrass is great! Lectures were really engaging and the assignments were very fair. Take the time to do the extra credit, because it will make up for some tough exam questions or the small mistakes you might make on the math homeworks. Incredible guy - definitely recommend taking the class.

I took this class just for the fun of it and it's easily the best class I've taken at UIUC. I was always hyped to go to lecture and truly sad when I had to miss it. Snodgrass is so engaging and has some really funny jokes to go along with his lecture. The class is a must take.

Professor Snodgrass is great and the lectures are amazing. You should definitely come to lecture because there are mandatory i-Clicker points. Only one semi-easy assignment per week and the extra credit reading quiz answers are not hard. Give it even a half effort and you'll do very well

Professor Snodgrass is one of the most inspiring professors I've had since college. He is super professional, helpful and most importantly extremely passionate about what he does. I'm taking his class to fulfill my gen eds, and I didn't know anything about ATMS before this class, but his lectures are very fun and interesting!

Exams (3) weren't too bad if you review lecture notes (no final). You have weekly labs that are kind of hard, but he's always helpful & answers/hints can be found on compass. Lots of e.c. He is such a cool guy & is really passionate about what he does. His lectures are awesome, funny, & interesting. Would take his class again.

Snodgrass is one of the best lecturers I've had. He includes funny stories and videos to keep students engaged in topics that otherwise could be very dry. This semester tests were in person rather than online, but the content was manageable and he curved appropriately. Easy A if you show up to class, take notes, and complete homework / extra credit

A very passionate and nice professor. His lectures have memorable personal stories and cool weather disaster videos. It is easy provided you put in some effort. If you get the chance take 120 with Snodgrass.

Eric is great. I was missing some class and hes been great about excepting late work and meeting me privately to go over material. His lectures, though not mandatory, are a great time because hes so passionate about it , is very funny, and devotes time to going over upcoming weather. If you have any interest in atmos science take 1 of his classes!

Professor Snodgrass is so passionate about his subject and about his class which makes coming to class everyday so great. His labs are challenging, but he gives you a lot of time to do them, and he gives extra credit opportunities.
