Prof. Tenbus is a pleasant guy who never picks on students, is polite, and just teaches what will be tested on, very straightforward, very cool. Just show up to class and all will be fine.

Great professor. Know where you stand with him. Teaches what he will test over and makes the class very interesting. Outlines what is expected the first day of class and follows through with what he says. I will take as many classes with him as I can. Great Professor!

if at all possible take your igen class with tenbus, as opposed to rowe. loves ireland, good stories. tests are a little hard, but he is fair. very easy going. showed up to night class dressed like a pig farmer a couple times.

Talk about easy. Wow, I showed up less than half the times and passed easily. He is a straightforward guy and won't bs you. Tests were pretty easy and lecture (what little I was there for) was clear and concise and not a lot of unnecessary information. Makes history relevant. excellent professor

Makes history interesting. I don't see how anyone can do poorly in his class. His lectures hold you captive. Tests are easy, he prepares you well for them. He's an upbeat, cheerful and energetic person. I looked forward to his class and never missed. He's that good!

Class lectures were interesting. Didn't want you to memorize dates, just pertinent information. His tests were a bit tough and sometimes pulled stuff from the book that he hadn't yet gone over in class.

His class is based on lectures and short video clips. He gave no homework assignments so your grade is based on tests, attendence (he does take attendence), and 1 extra credit assignment. This was an interesting class and he made the material easy to learn, however, if you don't do well on exams you may find this a hard class.

Wonderful class! Tenbus is the best History teacher you can take. He actually cares about the students. He will help you. As good a teacher as can be found in any department here on campus. Not always an easy teacher but if you try you will pass, and he wants you to pass.

He truly seems to care about students, but you will struggle just to get a passing grade. The first day of class he told us that atleast half of the class would fail. He knows his history and is hard to understand some times, some of the test material I don't know where it came from. I didn't find it in the book or my notes. This was a hard class!

i agree with whoever said this class is hard. it's almost impossible to get anything above a C or D. his tests are super hard and there is always stuff on there that you never even talked about in class and it's not in the book either. don't take him unless you absolutely have to...

I am pretty much an A student and I got a C in his class. I found the material very dry and hard to pay attention to. His tests are nearly impossible with questions arising that most certainly were not discussed in class. If you already have a superb knowledge of history take him, if not keep your distance.

Makes a normally boring subject very interesting. Is a skilled writer himself and offers excellent critiques and truly helps you develop your skills and understand how to improve. He won't just give you a grade, you will have to earn it, but if you try he will make sure you succeed. More than enough chances to get points in this class. Awesome!

I took his History of the Modern Brit Empire as a Freshman last semester. Tenbus was and is hands down one of the BEST history teachers I've had. He is also a great guy with a good sense of humor. Like the others said, notes notes notes. You can get by with decent writing skills because he has been in the game long enough to tell who trys.

Excellent lectures, keeps you interested and throws in videos and pictures to help put a face on whats going on in the class. Many extra credit opportunities, and only 1 paper to write over a book.

I absolutely loved Medieval England! He is a really hard professor because the little stuff counts, but he is also really interesting and funny. He throws in videos to relate to the lecture, we watched part of Monty Python and the Holy Grail! As long as you come to class and take notes you will do great! I can't wait for HIST 4491 Ireland!

He does not care if you pass his class or not.. Lectures are very boring.. He is not helpful at all.. I studied over 8 hours for his test and got a D!! If you are looking for a class that you want to be interested in, and receive a good grade in, do NOT take this class!! It's horrible!!

Great teacher with understandable lectures. He gives a lot of notes which are used to make up a majority of the tests. I'm doing fine not reading from the primary reading source. He also gives random quizzes, but if you look over your notes before class you'll be fine. Attendance sweeps are also randoms so go to class. Still recommended!

tenbus is my favorite history of all time. the way he does lectures is the best way to teach, it's very easy to follow along when you don't have to copy down the notes while he's talking. tests aren't too hard as long as you take notes and pay attention. quizzes are super easy as long as you pay attention. his class made me interested in history

He is a very intelligent professor, but is extremely harsh on grading his tests. I studied for this last test and got a C-. He cares about the student but if you fail his class it is not his problem. Do not take this class unless you have strong test taking skills/study habits!

His lectures were very interesting. He actually made me remember the content and be interested in what he was teaching me. I didn't like how some of the questions he put on his test didn't even relate to what we went over. Also, he could get a temper sometimes when students did things that he didn't like.

Awesome! This man is brilliant and has a great sense of humor. I had him for a SR lvl class and looked for his name to take another mid-lvl class I needed. Demanding-YES! Challenging-YES!But well worth the effort. Read the text, take good notes & study hard. And DON"T let your cellphone ring in class! You'll learn a lot and thirst for more.

So many good things to say about this professor, I don't know where to start! Very knowledgeable, witty, and an excellent lecturer. Requires that you work hard (imagine that!) especially when studying for the exams. Hard grader. Textbook reading not imperative to acquire an A.

Professor Tenbus is a pretty awesome guy. The class was never boring, even though it was history. As long as you study and read the textbook then you will succeed. All exams are multiple choice only and not too difficult.

Pretty awesome teacher. All you have to do is show up and take good notes. All his tests are from the notes and not from the book. But he does make you read and take quizzes over the reading. Makes history interesting and a great teacher. Will help you outside of class if needed.

He is a decent professor but his test are far more difficult than his quizzes. He doesn't review prior to the exams, so studying for them is kind of on your own. It is frustrating but as soon as you catch on to the swing of things he should be an easy teacher.

This class was a lecture class but I din't feel like Dr. Tenbus wasn't interested in me as a student. He genuinely cares about your grade if you approach him with concerns. I would reccomend him to everyone. He offers two extra credit opportunities and his grade is based off of attendance, 4 exams, and 12 reading quizzes.

Super great teaching and fun class! It's a lot of work, but if you attend class and take notes, you'll do fine. I would suggest doing the reading, but you might be able to get by. He's super funny and knows his stuff. I was thoroughly interested throughout the semester. I would take him any chance you get!

Prof. Tenbus is a history genius. He is super enthusiastic and clear, but assigns weekly quizzes and the tests are all multiple choice and very hard. Attendance is technically mandatory, but he only has you sign your name and 700# 10 times, when he sends the paper around it to his discretion.

Awesome professor. You can tell he really knows a lot about history and actually cares about it. I've never been a history person, and I've never really enjoyed the subject, but this is actually my favorite class right now just cause he makes it interesting and makes you want to learn. He doesn't make lectures totally boring. And he gives TONS of opportunities for extra credit. The grades for the class are quizzes on Blackboard and 4 exams. & of course the final

Tenbus is by far one of my favorite professors at UCM. He puts a lot of work into his lectures and makes them all memorable. You cannot procrastinate in this class, his texts are extensive. I always need every last minute to complete them. My best advice is start with the main essay on his tests, or he will grade it as if it is an afterthought.

Although I did not get an A for the semester, if you study for the tests and pay attention, you will do more than fine! This was my first semester of college and I was worried about this class. Mid way through I knew I shouldnt be. His first test is also very hard, second one is easy, third one is a higher grated final. Study!

The class really isn't all that hard if you read the textbook, do the online quizzes, and study a bit for the test, which doesn't take all that much time. The lectures are very enjoyable, so just come to class and pay attention. The tests are only hard if you skip class regularly.
