I am taking his 8 week course and I must say it is pretty easy. His lectures are boring but there are harldy any assignments. Plus he provides quizzes online that are not graded. These are questions are seen again on the test. Plus he lets you make up tests.

Great teacher. for criminal justice classes i would highly recommend this professor. The quizes he gives online are alot of the same question from the test. He is very generous and extremely helpful.

Absolutely a fabulous teacher, as long as you read the book, and do the WFT and quizzes your doing great. Participating brings his attention to you and he loves that, use words you learn in class when you speak to him or wrighting things out. Loves his job plus hes really fun. Too bad his class is only an 50 minutes. He's pretty attractive as well.

I took Professor Thompson's Juvenile Delinquency course over the summer and was so glad I did. He is an extremely engaging professor and highly encourages class participation. He is concise with his material and there are no surprises in his course. I would highly recommend any of his courses.

He was so funny! We had some good laughs.Never wears jeans! He did once cause everyone begged him! All online quizes but had tests in class. (print out the quizes from online! They are the test questions!) Never had homework really just to bring in news from around the world. Did in class work.

I've already had him for 3 seperate classes and don't know what to say other than he is the best professor I have ever had. You use the textbook a lot and there are multiple assignments throughout the course, however they are fairly simple and actually teach you something. Got an A in all 3 classes.

Pros: Flexible deadlines,laid back attitude,and passionate. Cons: The poor guy was in over his head in regards to having time to teach an online class. If you don't like waiting for grades to come in he'll drive you crazy.

Great teacher! if anyone says this class is hard they are on crack. he has 3-4 15 question quiz's online for each unit. you can take the quiz's twice so print the first one and get all the answers. on top of that the exams are just the quizs copied and pasted into one document! sooo easyyy!!

This is the hardest CJ I've taken in three years. Eric does a great job of teaching the concepts and makes it easy to get. If you do not want to work hard do not don't take this class.

Great Professor! Great learning system and if you follow it, you will pass with flying colors. Quizzes and exams are straight out of the book. Quizzes are not timed and you can take it twice. Exams are questions taken from the quizzes. EXCELLENT TEACHER!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Be prepared to work in his class, he's not a hard grader but he WILL give you work to do. Only problem I had with him is that pretty much for the first 20 minutes of each class it was just a rant from him on whatever. Other than that awesome teacher I highly recommend him!

Very good professor. Very big on everything being professional and a stickler for the rules and policy however. This guy is very explicit about not giving extra credit however if you do your part in his class you will never need extra credit as his tests and quizzes are a piece of cake really liked him overall.

Professor Thompson is the best professor I have ever had. His Criminology class was so intriguing. I had no idea what Criminology was all about before I took the class, and now I have a full-blown interest in it. He is very helpful and gives excellent feedback on all of the assignments. He is also very good at responding to e-mails.

Uses third-party ways for students to communicate, e.g., Popplet. Can be somewhat hard to establish, but once you have a great way to work through difficult concepts. Never had a problem receiving a response from the professor, if you can't then you are not trying that hard.

I took Professor Thompson's Intro to CJ summer course. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him both as a professor and as a mentor. He is very knowledgeable and inspirational. He is always available via email & had early morning office hours. He is straight-forward, does not give extra credit, but you will enjoy his class and learn some life lessons too.

This class was one of my favorite classes I have taken at COD. This class really taught me all of the aspects of criminology that I had never even known and the book really was insightful. The discussion boards were useful because they allowed people to learn more through a student's perspective. I would definitely take another of his classes!

Academic and inspiring. He was able to make theory interesting by relating it to real-world examples. If you don't have a good vocabulary, this class could be hard. Yes, quizzes can be taken online, but those are intended as study tools only and shouldn't be confused with some difficult requirement.

Loves research and expects students to cite any statement of fact. Not a huge fan of online classes, but his class was organized and structured in a logical and interesting way. Be ready to do some writing and course related research.

I took Prof Thompson in his online CRIMJ1100 and he is a really knowledgeable teacher. Really gives good feedback and lets you know if you are on the right track. Easy to talk to even through email and usually responded within a couple hours. Read the text, take a few notes on landmark cases and you'll be getting an A no problem.

Took the class on-line summer school 8 weeks. Do the reading and the assignments and the quizzes to do well. Very knowledgeable professor on the subject matter. Can't turn in anything late. Tests are based on the chapter.

Professor Eric is very motivational. You might find him to go off topic sometimes, but I assure you you wont regret taking him. He starts the lecture with some sort of life motivation and will connect his lectures to real life.

I started his class about 2 weeks late. He had no issue catching me up and allowing me to turn in those assignments. This course was extremely interesting and I love his teaching method. He's great at explaining details so every topic should be clear. He has some cool stories. Don't just depend on his lecture to be sufficient for the weekly online quizzes. He teaches straight out of the book so I recommend reading it or at least skim it. He looks intimidating but he's got a good sense of humor. Encourages discussion. Final is easy

This is my first class taken with him and unfortunately, I do not think he teaches any other of my required courses. I really want him for more classes. I can't say anything besides he's the GOAT. If you have the chance to take Mr. Thomspon please do! He is an amazing professor and is extremely knowledgeable about what he is teaching. The content is fairly easy just make sure to pay attention to lectures. He doesn't take late work but is a fairly easy grader.

Had a few advising meetings with him and he was great. He is super passionate about what he does, very kind and easy class. There is one assignment & one 25 question quiz weekly. Super easy and they do not count much toward your grade. Records lectures so attendance is not mandatory and always gives lengthy feedback which I appreciate. He's great!!
