By the book! New, so he's strict on rules. Does NOT let out early. Teaches Ethics, so you have to expect he will follow rules literally.
Really nice teacher, And a really nice class, not only do I enjoy being there, i look forward to going. Mr. tucker keeps a nice balance in the class room, different assignment and activities which not only help you understand what it is your learnig, but you also learn a lot of things about some of everything.
I love the class; he makes the class very interesting. He is always willing to help also.
Dr. Tucker is one of the best teachers in the SPC, he is very patient, his class is easy, he is very knowledgeble, he is very helpfull. i realy enjoyed taking this class with him and i am lucky to. if you want to get an A in this class go with Eric tucker.
most of our work was done on ANGEL. He was really helpful and pretty funny too. OPEN BOOK QUIZZES!
Mr Tucker is definetly passionate about teaching. I enjoyed his anecdotes and would reccomend him to anyone. Sometimes he is a little disorganized but overall a great professor.
I loved Prof Tucker... he loved what he was teaching so it came through to me clearly! Only problem with him is his discipline methods. Had a lot of annoying students that wouldn't shut up. I recommend taking his class, there is a lot of learning but it will help you for the rest of your life.
Great professor. Very compassionate &kind& will give his students the benefit of a doubt in a time of need. He has a wealth of stories about living abroad& they're never unrelated to the topic. He gives students lots of chances to improve their grade if they aren't doing great on test scores. I'd recommend him to anyone taking Ethics/philosophy
Great class, all quizzes are on angel, open book and open notes, not timed. just a couple of tests in a semester. a few EASILY graded papers. easy easy class! and ull have fun doing it. He has awesome stories and we always just discuss stuff and make jokes all class period. I learned much more than I expected. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!
Dr. Tucker is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you really want to learn something you should take one of his classes. Not only does he teach what he needs to, but he also teaches so many things outside the textbook. Dr. Tucker is far and teaches with an open mind.
a very good teacher. he is alwayss willing to help his students improve their grades!!! fun, easy and an interesting class. what other reason do you need to take his class?
Great teacher! Lectures were fun! Always respected your views and opinions. Took the blended class easy A.
He was sooooooooooooo perfect! seriously, i recommend him 500% because he loves the topic and teaches it TOO well. i thought that class was gonna be boring but the open discussions made it very interesting. he's very leniant and u take the quizes online, when u can. he does a lot of group work and fun activities. A+
Kept the class moving and explained the material quite well, I thought. Did well at introducing even the controversial topics in an informative yet neutral as possible way. Would definitely recommend him to anyone taking ethics. Overall, just a great guy who cares about his students and the subject he teaches.
Excellent teacher. Gives many angles to many issues we face today. There is no way you can walk away and not learned something. The class is easy if you just do the work.
Detested the class subject matter, which makes it all the more impressive that he STILL made the class enjoyable for me.
Tucker is a great teacher, even though ethics is not a very exciting subject he made it very interesting to learn about.. He does give a lot of work but gives you a lot of time to work on it unlike other ethics teachers I've heard about! take him : )
I hate Ethics from the bottom of my heart but I did great in this class. He really tries to make it interesting. I still hate Ethics! He rules take him.
Dr. Tucker's class was interesting and educating. The quizzes are online and open book, there is only one midterm and a big paper. Do the assignments and you'll do just fine! Dr. Tucker is an amazing person and a talented teacher who is there to make the difference.
Dr. Tucker is a great guy and an easy grader. Do your assignments, be on time for class, and you'll do fine. However, he's very slow at grading papers and there are eight of them. Be prepared to wait for weeks before you learn how you did.
Very good teacher. He will open your eyes to many different view points. I highly recommend him!
In my opinion, this guy is great. He is helpful. He promotes discussion between students. His lectures are interesting and exciting. And, most importantly, he loves what he does.
Before going into the class, I wasn't too interested in 'Ethics' It was just another class I had to take, but after taking this class with Dr. Tucker, I really look at things different. He's one of the best teachers I've had at SPC so far, and he's also willing to help out when asked.
Was told to take him but found out he is completely different online vs. classroom. sucks online! COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED
It is rare to find professors like Dr. Tucker. He truly cares about the subject matter and has a lot of interesting things to say. Be prepared to put in the effort, but your work will pay off. Also, if you do take him, I encourage you to get to know him a little outside of class as well. He is a great guy.
He's a really great teacher as long as you don't take him on-line. Bad mistake - I took a blended class and will never make that mistake again. He really knows and makes you intrested in his subject. As long as you do the busy work you will pass. By the way, he's really nice.
Dr. Tucker is very nice and friendly. He respects students and is understanding. (Maybe too understanding according to the students who turn all of their assignments in on time and have good attendance.)This class is very easy and I feel that I have learned some things that will truly benefit my life.
I really learned alot from this course. It was fun, and the work was not hard. If you do the assignments you will do great! Online quizzes every week were easy too.
I will say that he is a very good professor. He gets the knowledge out to the students and that is the most important thing. However he is a bit of a pushover. My class is full of slackers and they can get away with not doing the quizzes on time. Other than that he is a good teacher. Read the book and do the work and you will get an A
lectures are boring. I took him for a blended class and didnt learn anything. he doesnt encourage class discussions in the blended class, only him rambling about the topic that makes it uninteresting. Too many online assignment in blended. too critical of application paper. takes his phD too seriously and is not interestd in thoughts of others.
great prof! online quizzes weekly - he'll keep them open a few days, but not weeks. i made that mistake. managed to pull off an A. has a lot of great stories and has TONS of information relating to ethics. application paper is long but easy - just FOLLOW the example EXACTLY and you'll get an A. will take him for bus & prof. ethics. RECOMMEND =]
he is a great teacher & teaches from all points of view. weekly quizzes online are open book with NO time limit. the application paper is long but not hard at all. Do all the quizzes & paper you'll be fine.
An awesome teacher! Not relly the most interesting subject, but makes it interesting. Quizes and tests are online(i.e. "openbook"), open minded and flexible I would take him again in a heartbeat and suggest taking him!
Dr. Tucker was a good teacher, but he often does not encourage student discussion like he says he does. He says that his personal views are not obvious, but I disagree - I thought them to be very obvious. Whenever someone contradicted him he shut them down.
Great teacher. Nice and makes class interesting. Always answers all your questions and never belittles you. I enjoyed his class thoroughly and am sad to not have it next semester. An easy class and very enjoyable. :) Take him.
Dr. Tucker offers many grades which are often easy to score well on. In addition, his tests are well made; no real curve balls. Some of his views are... Interesting... Nevertheless, I still find him to be a great teacher. On a side note, eat your breakfast in the morning, because I almost fell asleep a couple times. Not his fault, it's just boring.
Content relies a lot on online work, but he teaches class well. He tries hard to make class entertaining and tries to apply what he teaches to daily life.
good, easy. sometimes fun sometimes boring i would reccommend, but ive heard there is other teachers that are better
GREAT Teacher, really gets you to think about everything. really involved. I would recommend him to anyone who really wants to learn something about ethics.
I enjoyed his class. I feel that he remained as neutral as possible throughout the course, and I appreciated that. I wish he would give students the opportunity for more personal input, though.
Great teacher. Can keep attention of the class. I really enjoyed the discussions, though one thing that bothered me was that the online quizzes weren't always totally relevant to the lectures of the day. Still a good prof.
DON'T DO IT!!! He is more interested in taking attendance than makeing sure the class knows whats going on. And don't think you can just get up and go to the bathroom w/o an issue be made of it. He is so unorganized he expects the students to call him and tell him to open up quizes that are due.
I wouldn't recommend! He is more interested in taking attendance than makeing sure the class knows whats going on. And don't think you can just get up and go to the bathroom w/o an issue be made of it. He is so unorganized he expects the students to call him and tell him to open up quizes that are due.
Great professor! He gives online open book quizzes before class and there is only one paper you have to write super easy and really interesting! He was one of my favorite professors!
Prof Tucker is a great teacher. His lessons are always entertaining and very interactive. He makes sure we understand whats going on and grades fairly. I would highly reccomend this teacher if you're looking for a class that will get you thinking and allow you to have fun at the same time! :)
I thought Prof. Tucker was an excellent teacher. Its obvious that he is meant for teaching and loves doing it.He grades very easily, but I also feel I end up getting the same grades as the slackers even tho I work harder than them. He is a bit unorganized when it comes to the online quizzes and papers. But overall I highly recommend him
Very helpful, responds quickly to questions, lessons are on point with quizzes, is very clear about what he expects in the paper.
He makes it easy to learn if you pay attention. If you do the work and study youll do great. He keeps things interesting and really knows his stuff and is always willing to help out.
Genuinely cares about teaching, and actually is interested in what he is teaching. Overall nice guy, easy class if you pay some attention. Online open book quizzes once a week.
Dr Tucker is a great teacher. He seems to love teaching and is genuinely interested in making sure his students do well. Available constantly for any questions, he gives his cell phone to students and expects you to use it if he is needed. My favorite teacher this semester by far! Not a stickler for rules, but expects you to get the work done.
Overall great teacher. Easy A as long as you do the reading and understand the material, which if you don't, Dr. Tucker will be more than happy to help you. He is a bit picky about attendance, but I liked it because late students get on my nerves. I actually was 10 minutes early every day because he always shows an interesting video before class.
DR TUCKER's class has been a nightmare. He is NOT a good prof, cares too much about phone usage & attendance. His weekly lectures were unorganized, hard to follow, and relentlessly bored me to tears. Cant say I've learned much in his class, especially considering how demanding he is with work & attendance
Great teacher but not prepared for an express class. Too much work, a lot of time spent online in the blended class. Still good though.
You can tell that Dr. Tucker cares about teaching and enjoys it. He grades fairly, and if you show up to class and keep up with the assigned work you'll do well and probably learn something along the way.
Real great guy. He said we wouldn't have to take the final exam if we had an A average in the beginning and we still had to...but that was my only gripe. As long as you read the material his class is easy
Great teacher. Loves his topic and very enthusiastic. I hated the application paper (2000 word req.) but I do HATE writing assignments anyway. I did end up getting an A on it. Oh and he knows Spanish if that helps anyone. :)
Dr. Tucker really enjoys teaching and you will a lot from his class. You just need to make sure that you do all the reading assignments and take the quizzes on Angel before you come to class.
Dr. Tucker is really passionate about his topic. Uses excellent real world examples, and includes interesting facts. There is a lot of reading and it is crucial to attend every class session you can. But if you do these two things you will do well! One big paper (CTAP) that Dr. Tucker is extremely helpful with! Definitely Recommended!!!
Very nice and understanding of personal situations. Very open and enthusiastic. Encourages student/teacher contact and for you to call him if you need help. Very clear course, not a small load by any means but great professor. If you don't mind trying and learning take him. Wonderful.
Hard grader. Throws all the big assignments at you towards the end when you are almost done with the course. Didn't like taking all the quizzes before being lectured on the information. Didn't keep up with grades so you didn't know where you stood until the night before the final exam.
I would highly recommend Professor Tucker! I Ethics with him for a summer course. He always had the most interesting things to talk about. Very funny, friendly, helpful. He is passionate about his career and it shows.. Don't hesitate to take him
Awesome teacher, very helpful, taught me a lot of tricks on how to get assignments done, very clear on his subject, and when it comes to Ethics, he is a very Ethical person, this is not an easy, It's something that is achievable if you just give effort and do all of your assignments, fun!!!!!
Took Tucker online. First online class and he does a great job explaining the course work. Creates webcam videos explaining coursework on important projects and gives quick responses to questions. Would have been more interesting to take in class and listen to lecture and discussions but easy online class!!
Dr. Tucker is a great teacher! He truly cares about his job and the student's success! The work load is large and demanding, but the class is fun! The midterm paper is the hardest part of the class, but he's there to help! Highly recommend Dr. Tucker!!!
Great teacher. Took online. VERY helpful and available for questions and clarity. Work load average. Mid term is most work. NO final just small paper/posts. If you participate and do the work you should get a good grade. Lots of reading, discussion posts.
Clear coursework and flexible teacher who is super at answering questions and helping his students. I cannot say one bad thing about this class. Just a matter of doing the work. Gives oppoutunity for extra credit. Took him online and highly recommend him.
Very good teacher! Work load is full, but that's where the learning is.. I wish i could have him for all my classes...
He is an OK teacher, do all extra credit offered u will need it trust me. His midterm is really hard but his final is almost exactly the same as the study guide. Only downer is he goes off topic a lot during lecture which makes it hard to follow him at times.
Great prof! He is very helpful, and the work helps you learn the material. He gives great examples, and stories about his life that are both entertaining and helpful.
He is a great teacher, but hes very hard and strict. It's an interesting learning experience, but he doesnt play games, and he doesnt take slackers/cheaters. But all around, I'd give him a B+
Dr. Tucker is a good teacher. I had him for IDS honors online and only seemed him twice in a semester, therefore do not know well. He is not good with responding back to emails, it took him a few days to get back to you. The best way was to call him and he was good at picking up the phone and returning your call. IDS class was easy.
Fantastic man and professor. I learned a lot from him in this class. He genuinely cares about his students and the world around him. A great ethical example and a really fantastic professor.
Dr. Tucker is an amazing person, but his class is a lot of work, as expected in college. Tests on the chapter, before class, to make sure youve read the material. So READ THE BOOK! He is strict on attendance! He is very personable. Tries to get his class involved in conversation as much as possible. No PHONES! He'll call you out for it! Hah.
Good Prof. but take a different ethics teacher if you want an easy A. His class involves a lot of work but you do learn a good bit. He loves his job and he loves ethics. BE ETHICAL!
Great teacher! I'm taking a blended course, but the time we spend in the classroom shows he is an enthusiastic and knowledgable teacher. I am learning a lot from this course! He does not like slackers, but this is an honors course so that is to be expected! :)
I can say this his class discussions are awesome and he will get your interest! His reading requirements are very reasonable and most importantly relate to class content! He possesses a very nice balance of reason, logic and mentor all rolled into one!
Had Dr. Tucker for Ethics was GREAT! The work is not too bad, and taking the quizzes helps you learn the material more. Always helpful, answered all questions, gave extra credit opportunities, and has some great stories to tell that apply to the lesson. would LOVE to take him again any day!
Love Love Prof. Tucker :)
i absolutely loved this class and Prof Tucker was awesome! he made the class fun and discussions were great. There was an online quiz once a week before you have class so you are prepared for the class. he brought in ppl to talk about their religions and i really liked that and the work was actually fun to do. def take this class and this Prof!
He enjoys what he does and wants you to enjoy his class. There are quizzes before every class but they are not difficult. A great teacher and allows for people with different opinions to speak.
Prof tucker was an awesome teacher ! Give respect and you will earn his. Please put your cell phone on silent when you come in the class please lol. He is very animated so you will pay attention more. Quizzes are before class and it is done online . Take his class and you will learn how to argue
Prof. tucker was excellent. He's quite a character and really helps you retain and learn the information. I took his blended ethics class. Its a lot of work but work it. He's super helpful and one of my favorite professors this semester.
His ethics class was extremely interesting. His lectures are conceptual so you need to read the textbook to do well on the quizzes. However this is a good thing because you leave this class knowing more than you would if he just went over notes. Only bad thing is all quizzes are online and he never mentions them so it's easy to forget to do them.
This class is probably the most I have ever learned in just one class. I feel as though I am a better person after ethics and I seem to apply it to my every day life. Not a hard class, there is alot of work involved, but its well worth it!
I was surprised at how good of a rating he was given. Maybe I just got a bad class. Extremely unorganized. I am in a blended class which is half online and half in class. You need to do your best with what little direction is given and hope for the best. Enthusiastic but somehow class still seems to be a burden on his shoulders.
I do not recommend this teacher. I had no choice because the original teacher I had left due to cancer. Very hard grading system. Got a "D" on my CTAP. Followed guidelines, looked at examples, etc.
I took this class online, and despite my distaste for the subject, the professor made it manageable! The class was set up well. The CTAP was certainly the most difficult part of the class and required a LOT of work, but it was worth the effort and I received an A on mine. Took a LOT of working on it though! The professor was greatly helpful!
Professor Tucker is awesome. Genuinely cares about what he teaches and if you PAY attention you will pass.
All quiz/exam questions come from lectures and the book. Read the chapters/pay attention, you will pass He has one major project at the end of the year, but he gives you a lot of options for it. HE HATES CELLPHONES! He cracked down on attendance, so ignore anyone saying you don't need to show up. This class will enrich your perspective of religion.
Professor Tucker was a pretty good instructor. He cared about what he taught. His quizzes are pretty easy and the class all together is easy. Make sure you don't talk too much to others because he will get annoyed and don't use your phone.
A model teacher. Always came in with an upbeat attitude that made everyone laugh and smile. Gave great challenges but with a very forgiving time frame in order to complete them. Is an example of how to be down to Earth while having high standards of excellence.
Excellent professor. The classroom environment is the biggest advantage of taking Dr. Tucker. It is clear that he cares about the students and class which makes for a good class. This is not an easy course though, there is a large critical thinking paper midway through that is worth a lot of points and a group project at the end of the course.
Dr. Tucker is an excellent professor. Fair in grades and very clear in explanations for assignments
Not easy material, but he really makes it enjoyable!
Great Professor. Material was very difficult and Professor Tucker made it so easy understand. a little bit of writing in this class, especially CTAP paper. Gives a bunch of extra credit. Have to participate in class in order to have an A. Would take him again if I had to.
By far one of my favorite professors. Is not biased w. his personal virtues. He is witty, fun, and keeps things interesting. He broke the CTAP (2,000 word required paper) up into 7 steps that we turned in throughout the semester instead of one bulk term paper. GENIUS I wish this out of the box thinking was more common in SPC teachers but its sparse
The online class had lots of assignments but most were easy. Make sure to stay on schedule with the course.
I was dreading taking this course, but he made it enjoyable. He is one of my favorite professors so far. He used videos and told stories to help explain otherwise bland material. Just remember to do the quizzes and you'll be fine. I actually learned from the class. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Tucker seems like a nice man. He provides clear instruction and expects you to meet that standard. His class isn't difficult, however it is time consuming. The Gordon Rule assignment is broken up into sections which is nice. Oh, beware when responding to other students Discussion Posts, he actually reads and provides feedback on what you say!
Weekly group assignments, weekly quizzes, weekly discussion post w2 replies all on separate days, individual assignments almost weekly. Doesn't check email everyday but does respond fairly quickly. Is a reasonable grader and always tries to help you understand directions and requirements if you ask. I enjoyed having him as a professor.
Great class. He helped soooo much. There is a lot of work, but keep pushing and you will do fine. If you have ANY questions at all, email him, he responds quickly and will clear up any questions you have.
To be fair, I did take a summer course with Dr. Tucker. It did go by very quickly and there was a lot of work to be done. Very friendly, and well rounded professor. He gets good ratings for a reason. DO THE QUIZ'S, all of them. He does have you complete a lot of assignments, but it is not just busy work. It does help you withthe exams! Good luck!
Great teacher, I really like his method of taking quizzes before hand and then coming into class to discuss it. Has the BEST calendar of when assignments are due. I wish my others teachers could update their calendar like Professor Tucker.
Pretty much leaves you alone, did give one worded responses to things like "okay", nothing more than that. Overall alright class that if you just read the chapter and take the quiz you should be fine.
Professor Tucker was awesome! I took his class online (my first ever online class), and he made sure I comfortable with the course and always gave great feedback whether I needed to do more or less. He responded to my emails IMMEDIATELY, and even went out of his way to call me to clarify my work. He was the best. also, BUY THE BOOK.
super nice guy, insane amount of work, instructions are all over the place w/ constantly changing due dates. very quick to respond to emails & offer help, you are paired w/ one person for whole class on group project so it's luck of the draw based on who you get assigned with, even though there is a massive amount of work he is an easy grader.
His sense of humor is great and he is quick with comebacks. 1 large paper that he breaks up into 7 easy steps through out the semester. last grade is a group project. I didnt like his response time to emails, he provides his cell phone number, texting him is best for quicker responses. just respect his privacy and don't text after 9p. gr8 feedback
He is by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. Does not care about his students as an individual and is there for a paycheck. Does not like young students. I read some of the feedback and trust me Dr. Tucker should have his teaching revoked. Worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I go to MSU & are at SPC in the summer.
Prof. Tucker is AMAZING! I took him for Ethics and this Honors learning class. Wish I could take him again! He is a living Asher Flemming! (Gilmore girls) Very cultured man with great stories and a wonderful sense of humor! Lectures are never boring! Very prompt with email responses.
Ethics class is interesting. Expect to read a lot & do chapter quizzes before class which can be pretty tricky. There's a large essay divided into 7 steps. Some steps are easier than others. Anyway, the class is hard but not extreme. Dedicate time and you'll ace. Warning: Don't leave assignments for the last minute.
Expect to read about 2 chapters a week with quizzes on each chapter. There is also at least one assignment as well as a discussion board every week. We were assigned to 2 person teams but my team mate dropped so I was on my own. He makes the topic interesting though!
One quiz per chapter. Only 15 minutes for 12 questions, but come straight from book. EXTREMELY HELPFUL. CALL him if you have questions, he loves to talk. Just follow directions and have time management and you will succeed. Also, be careful on your replies for discussion posts.
I took him for service learning. The class is simple. 30 hours of volunteering and one discussion post per week. Volunteering on its own is worth the experience but if you need a one credit class definitely take this.
Online class. Dr. Tucker is very fair, responds to emails promptly and gives you his cell phone # for questions or problems. This course required alot of writing, discussions every week, individual assignments, group assignments, 2 quizzes each week. Make sure you read your text because the whole class is based on it. I would take him again.
Tons of work! A fair professor and grades easy but, be prepare to manage your time. Discussion post original 300 words and due by Wed and 2 replies each 100 words due on different dates. Individual and group assignments weekly plus 2-3 weekly quiz. Quiz are from the book and powerpoint. Material is not hard just a lot of it. 2 video post.
Due dates are constantly changing, he will often say things are not going to be this week but then never changes the due date online so the post will close if you don't complete. If your opinion doesn't align with his, you are WRONG and your grade reflects. Nice enough guy, not organized, lectures all over the place and constantly behind.
I took a blended class which always makes things a bit tricky. Knows the material, makes you think. Slightly disorganized when it comes to telling you when things are due. Pretty easy class. Textbook is definitely needed.
He's a fantastic professor. Not too tough on grading, but does have a group project. All quizzes and test are online
Dr. Tucker and his lectures lean conservative, so if you're a progressive expect to be annoyed a little :) That said, he is a gentleman and a very charismatic person. Not a boring class at all. Also he was very accessible to students and more than willing to help. Gave great, attentive feedbacks.
MR Tucker gave assigments and videos. But no help.
I found Dr. Tucker to be very fair and a very good professor. I enjoyed his class and thought it was worthwhile.
Instructions for assignments are confusing. Fast email response. Vague feedback on assignments. Said my paper was lacking but didn't explain but said he felt I grasped the concept. I asked for specifics on how the paper was lacking and he said don't worry about it since I got a good grade. Assignments dont match the chapters assigned for the week
There is a group project that lasts the entire semester. It is extremely difficult and frustration if you have unreliable teammates so choose your group wisely. Other than that, all tests and quizzes are online and open book (but there are application questions so you need to know the material).
Mr. Tucker is very intuitive and funny. The class is very interesting. You learn so much that is recommended by me that take it with an open mind and be ready to have fun and to work mentally to solve the problems. This is not an easy A believe me, but is so much fun that I suggest anyone to give it a chance.
Knows the material very well and provides background and stories on each subject. There is a group project through the semester and the quizzes are open notes, so if you pay attention in class and take good notes, this should be a fun class. Loved his teaching style and would highly recommend for those who are interested in the art of Ethics.
I really like this professor. He shows care and concern for each of his students. He is available for help when needed and he always gives great feedback on assignments that are turned in. I'm not a big fan of Management courses but I would easily recommend this instructor to any other student for this course (MAN 3303).
Tough grader and lots of homework and reading.
Professor Tucker is a good educator, but he is a little too lecture heavy. There is never really any classwork, mostly just listening to his lectures and the 10 question quizzes / exams are online (which is nice because they are open book).
Great course, very applicable to you no matter what you're studying or where you are academically. Professor Tucker gave excellent feedback so you could apply the material and improve throughout the course. Not an overwhelming amount of work, but plan ahead so you are successful. I purchased the text as an ebook, wish I had the physical textbook.
He is a good professor but some instructions are not clear when it comes to the assignments. He is fair on grading and I do believe he wants every student to succeed. He replies to email and gives good feedback on assignments. Make sure to submit DBs by Wed and Assignments by Sunday because he has it to where you can not submit after deadline time.
Tucker is by far one of the best profs Ive ever had. He genuinely cares about his students & wants them to succeed. Some instructions for assignments are a bit confusing but hes always willing to clear up confusion. Have classmates numbers to text if you have questions- very helpful! Quizzes are based on textbook reading but can find online
This is my first time rating a professor on here but I think his feedback is condescending and demoralizing. I've never had the kind of feedback he gave from any other professor in 4 years. Maybe I just got him on a bad day. But honestly he made me not even enjoy the subject or want to engage with him at all.
"The feedback agrees that your link, citation, and reference of the textbook are all good. I normally reserve 100% for exceptional work. This encourages students to go a little bit above and beyond. I know there are students who think full compliance should result in 100%. but education is more than compliance" grades assignments over the top!
I was the first person, in class during his lecture and said , "Oh stop". Professor thought it was hilarious and laughed. He does let the quizzes be open book and gives chapter review PDF's online that go with the quizzes, in the course. Also get ready to read, skip class? You won't pass, and Accessible outside class.
Dr Tucker is prepared for class and makes a significant effort to engage the students in the material. He is animated and likes to use humor, irony and example. In the condensed summer class, it feels like a lot of work, but it is average. Actually much less writing than I anticipated. He adjusted due dates when the class was pressed. Fair.
i didnt like the class and mr tucker didnt explain the material very well he just leaves you figure it out
Mr. Tucker is very knowledgeable on the Ethics subject. Easy class if you keep up with deadlines. Discussion posts and quizzes weekly. Full semester group project - fairly simple if guidelines followed. Can exempt the final with less than 2 absences. Towards the end, did not learn as much but had interesting lectures and conversations as a whole.
I would maybe take him again. I personally like him better as a person than as a professor. He does group projects and shows a lot of videos.
Professor Tucker is by far the worst professor I've had in my 4 years of college. His feedback is condescending and his grading makes no sense. I've never received a 0 on a paper in my entire educational career and Professor Tucker gave me one because I used too many textbook quotations... There was no warning, no point deduction just a zero. RUN!!
I have never once had a professor that went out of his way to lie and then in turn make me prove myself in a hearing because he could not simply admit he WAS WRONG. AVOID at all costs!! His feedback is demeaning, he will not explain where you went wrong if you get a good grade in his opinion, and will not help you understand why he changes his mind
took the class in the middle of a pandemic, you would think he would be understanding and accommodating to students but nope. no extensions for his modules/quizzes/drop box or even opening the modules at the end of semester in an attempt to help students get a better grade. hopefully he's a bit more understanding in the future.
I have never had such an arrogant professor in either bachelor's degree program I've been in. Hands down the WORST professor, demeaning when grading, and goes back on his words for his own benefit (still unsure what benefit it is to him for students to go from an A+ to an A-). Avoid at all costs, even if it means you graduate late.
Worst professor I have ever had. Tells you "if you do this, you will receive credit," then goes back on his word based on his own opinion. Extremely rude feedback based on opinion and not facts, changes his mind week over week on how things need to be done (good luck knowing what he expects), and above all with report you for cheating without proof
Awesome professor! Maybe the 8-week course wasn't for me but Professor Tucker really was awesome with all of the amazing feedback and I learned a lot from him reviewing my work and about the course itself. He was really nice and pushed all of us in the class to our best. On top of that, he was very honest with all of us which is very important to m
Excellent preparation and knowledge of the subject matter. Always available for help. Made what could have been a boring class very interesting and fun by using a wide array of different materials. Also offers very helpful feedback on the assignments. He was very organized and graded assignments on-time
You will definitely have to read the textbook to do well on Dr. Tucker's quizzes. The critical thinking project is a bit tedious. However, Dr. Tucker himself is full of personality and he's very smart. You'll enjoy his lectures. He is easy to contact and he's very approachable.
I took an online class and it was very simple. Easy textbook to read, doable assignments, and open book quizzes. Gave LOTS of resources for further learning. He really cares about what he teaches and does his best to help his students understand the material.
I took this class online and it was great. The professor is nice and is willing to help. There are weekly quizzes and discussion posts, a project spread out over the entire semester, a midterm, final, and many extra credit opportunities. The work is not hard and you should be able to pass as long as you're willing to put in at least some effort.
He looks for cheating so when you see bad reviews that's probably what it is. Don't worry though he tries his best to help every student. I will be honest I fell behind at first and he reached out saying I could make up all of my missing assignments. He encourages everyone and interacts with every student.
I loved Prof Tucker in live-online class, and his lectures were quite interesting. While doing the 8-week course, the time spent on homework takes some time but as long as you follow the rules, you'll get through it easily. Some cons in my experience were that the assignment schedule was a bit unorganized, and he did not provide accurate feedback.
Took LiveOnline. Nice guy. Lectures tend to drag on. Discussions and textbook assignments due every week. Group discussions with classmates almost every online meeting. Tells a lot of jokes, but his sense of humor is odd; made me a bit uncomfortable at times. Read the textbook! Participate and complete the work effectively and you'll do great!
I was very surprised to see that Professor Tucker received so much positive feedback. He is very unorganized. He has had FAR too many spelling and grammar issues in his assignments. He has made MANY mistakes giving incorrect directions on said assignments AND takes 5 days MINIMUM to respond to emails. Very disappointed.
Mr. Tucker was an amazing teacher! I loved his class, clear instructions, clear grading, and very kind. If I had the option to take more classes by him I would!
Lecture. Took this professor a while back. I thought I'd put some feedback here. He grades tough depending on if you type something he does not agree with.. Which is a little weird since this is an ethics class. Not sure if he was having a bad semester.. as I do not agree with other posters.
Prof. Tucker is always encouraging and gives a lot of useful detail which has inspired me to go far afield in research. I regret due to lock downs, not being able to get additional benefit by seeing him personally. When I have in other courses, he shares many interesting 'war stories' and additional details. Will take again.
This professor wasn’t amongst the worst I have had, but he did grade hard. I found myself frustrated many times at the fact that I would put my all into an assignment to only receive a B for little mistakes. I took the eight week course and if you do the same be ready for an overload of work.
Professor Tucker is knowledgeable in so many topics and his lectures were amazing! I learned so much from him and he really works with you! Also wonderful class participation!
Good class to take. There were good instructions throughout the course and always thorough feed back for each assignment to know what we could do better for next time. The best teacher I've had in the year of being a student. Thank you for taking the time out of your life to help students. I truly appreciated him.
I took applied ethics online. I enjoyed Prof. Tuckers class. Manageable work load for this course, and I learned a lot. Had a few issues with unclear assignment due dates over the semester, and he was quick to respond to emails to clear things up. Would def take another class from him.
He goes on random tangents in class and doesn't stick to anything specific. Doesn't let you know when he is adding a homework assignment and expects you to just know. The notes he gives are confusing.
I would not recommend taking this professor at all. He is unorganized. He gets off topic about his lectures and takes his time to get to the point. His lectures do not make any sense and they do not relate to any given homework or assignments. He assigns work without mentioning it in class. He may change assignments or close them without notice.
Don't take is professor face-to-face. He lectures too much and gets off topic a lot. If you're going to take him then I recommend online. This class is not engaging or slightly entertaining. He messes up his assignments and is hard to keep up when he makes a lot of mistakes. He never mentions his assignments either.
I took the 8 week online course and that was a mistake. There were a ton of assignments to do each week. A lot of reading and a lot of writing. Some of the chapters were interesting but because it was so much I couldn't really take the time to enjoy any of it. Professor left great feedback and responds to emails in a timely manner.
Many of his assignments are unannounced. A lot of irrelevant discussion forums are involved. He says they are mandatory and agrade but he never grades them. He grades attendance. Lectures are very boring and off topic for the whole class time. Communication with him is hard. He rarely answers emails. He is a nice person but not a good professor.
The course was easy to navigate through and Professor Tucker is great. He helped me through multiple problems and responded in a timely manner. Never made me feel like he was not there to help. This course (8 weeks) is intense. In the end, I, undoubtedly, learned a lot.
Good class to take. There were good instructions throughout the course and always thorough feed back for each assignment to know what we could do better for next time. The best teacher I've had in the year of being a student. Thank you for taking the time out of your life to help students. You are truly appreciated.
Incredibly nice and sociable man, undoubtedly. Sloppy professor. Longwinded+offtopic tangents, many unclear assignments that would never get spoken about in class+had trouble clarifying in person, unclear emails, inflexible with deadlines and grades when I was hospitalized. Not too difficult homework-wise but incredibly impractical and frustrating.
Interesting topics discussed during class that makes you think and be a better person. I actually enjoyed the class. Group project runs throughout the semester and is annoying, but not terrible. Homework is not too bad and you can work ahead. No final unless you miss 4 days of class. Extra credit oppurtunies such as park cleanups area avaiable.
only proctored midterm , reasonable grading , extra credit only events based. Mostly writing and quizzes.(12 week express)
Professor Tucker's class has a decent workload, with a mix of writing assignments and quizzes. Leveraging resources like Unstuck study alongside the textbook can help manage the pace. Overall, he's knowledgeable and responsive.
Him as a person 11/10. he is so so sweet and passionate, hes definately there to change lives. Him as a professor 3/5, he gives simple powerpoints that are often stale and dry, he has lots of discussions and an entire semester long project (if you have honors then it will be a group project). However he stacks on hw in the very last week of class.
I took this course online, there was clear communication for assignment expectations. Every week there was one paper due along with a chapter quiz (incredibly easy). Just stay on top of due dates and attend the extra credit events (up to 60 points!). Make sure to study for the midterm, can make or break your grade since it's lockdown browser. Ez A
Was super unclear about which assignments needed to be completed, and which didn't, which resulted in me getting zeroes on assignments I could've done if he was more. Furthermore, he was also pretty inflexible with deadlines when circumstances arise. To add insult to injury, he failed to mention the mid term was open note/book.
Very good professor. The assignments themself are not hard, but they do require your effort weekly. Don't be lazy. Prof. Tucker gives good feedback and extends due dates for students who need it. The midterm required the camera/browser and you are allowed to have written notes. The final exam required the browser only with open notes.
I went into PHI 1600 thinking it would just be some prof. telling me how to live my life, but I was so wrong! Professor Tucker made the class engaging and applicable to life. Sometimes he wouldn't mention important things like scantrons or homework assignments, but students asked questions to get the answer. Great prof to have! Never a dull moment.
His study guide doesn't correlate with the midterm, and he doesn't provide a study guide for the final. The assignments are all mashed up, so some assignments are due on Saturday and some are due on Sunday, which can cause confusion when trying to complete them because there are at least 4-5 assignments to do.
nice professor, lots of extra credit opportunities and great feedback on assignments! late work is allowed on some assignments with a deduction and the assignments were interesting and applied to real world problems
His grading is pretty random. He will pick at your assignment for most random things to try and not give you a 100. Midterm is pretty easy lockdown browser no notes. Final is open note no lockdown.
