He's an AWESOME teacher, you have fun going to class!!
Williamson is smart and almost never boring.

good class
Great class, he makes it 100% clear what you need to know and gives you an outline of it too!
He is one of the greatest teachers I ever had. He makes the class so easy. clarity =100% If you just study your notes, you are guaranteed an A. Th electures are very interesting and helpful. Great teacher
This guy is easy and so are his tests but he gets pissed of if you look at another student. He stops in midsentence if anyone comes in late and gives them a dirty look. A girl in my class sneezed and he got pissed of. He also got pissed when a girl dropped her notebook while she was taking notes. It's an easy class but the guy is a complete jerk.
Great professor. He makes everything as simple as possible. He gives review sheets for each chapter, and everything you need for the exams are right there. Show up on time and you should be fine!
Good Easy Class. If you don't get anything, professor is willing to help you out. I took it during the May term so everything was rushed, but it was a good class overall.
very easy, interesting class. not hard to ace it at all. nice, helpful prof.
loved this class and found it really interesting. has simple teaching style, is really straight fwd: he gives out study guides for each chapter and whatever is on it will be on the tests. whatever you cover in class is also important, so make sure you pay attn and take good notes. didnt even use the textbook. really easy class and great professor.
This is a great class! The professor is really into what he's teaching. Pay attentions to his lectures, because they are not only useful when taking his exam, but it's also VERY useful in life. I would love to take the class all over if I have could. one word "AWSOME"
This class was great! He makes everything very easy and understandable. He gives review sheets which make studying very easy. You don't really need the book.
He's one of my best professors I'd ever had.His lectures are informative and is understanding towards his students. I still keep in contact with him now, and because of his introductory class, I decided to minor in anthropology. Attend class and study notes for all exams. Simple but very interesting.
Standout teacher. Makes the topics discussed interesting by giving real life examples. Talks loudly and clearly and give enough time to take notes. One of my favorite classes.
He is a great professor, probably one of the best at UConn Hartford. He is very clear and very into what he teaches. Provides amazing examples that relates subject to everyday life. 4 exams.there not bad if u take good notes. DO THE READINGS!! cause half the exams are based off it. If u r good at memorizing, you'll do fine. Not that hard of a class
Professor Williamson is a great teacher. His teachings are very precise and clear and the tests are very easy if you study the review sheets.
This was a great class. At time was boring, but very informative. Professor is very nice and makes sure that students have all the information needed to complete exams. He cracks a joke here and there to make the class a little more interesting. Overall good class. Easy A.
Amazing teacher...if your study your notes you will have everything you need for the tests. He gives you a few articles to read but they're all interesting and relate well to the topics in class. I would highly recommend taking this class with him. My favorite teacher at Uconn so far.
Fantastic teacher!!! Didn't know anything prior to entering the class;now, I'm fascinated with the things taught. Class goes by fast and at times its is quite entertaining. Take the class with Williamson, you won't regret it!
Great professor. Take his class and study for his quizzes and you will get an A. he will even bump you up if he sees improvement. Just make sure to attend every class because you need to have his lecture notes. My advice is to take this class but study very hard before the tests to get an easy A.
Great professor! Had no interest in anthropology before the class but he made the topics that we disscussed very interesting. You must attend every class, take good notes and study (including doing ALL the readings) to get a good grade. As long as you do these things you will get an A
Great Professor, very un-baised, very clear and punctual, Teachers anthropology extremly well
Williamson is absolutely AMAZING! He is very helpful and the class is very interesting! He gives us a review sheet to follow the during the lectures and it tells us EXACTLY what may be on the exams! The final ISN?T cumulative! The class goes by really quick and is not boring at all. He is very funny, just make sure to study and read the articles=A!
Incredible professor, this class was so interesting I actually looked forward to going to class (even though I dreaded having to take anthropology before the semester started!) He gives every answer to the test straight up in class so if you don't get an A.. that's on you. LOVE him so much wish he would teach another class because he is so awesome!
LOVE this guy. Easy class to get an A in if you re read your notes and expand on them a bit. He gives people a leg up if they need it and ask for help too. he's a funny guy with some interesting stories to tell (he does field work in Kenya). talk to him if you need help and you're all set. made me want to take more anthro classes!
Make sure to study the review sheets and you should do fine.
Awesome professor, very helpful and super clear on every lecture. To pass with an A you must attend every class. Exams are not hard at all but you MUST study alot he also gives study guides which are very useful. I ended with an A-
Professor Williamson is the best! A great class to take and an easy A. Every single thing on his study guides are on his exams. To get all the notes, you do have to attend class cause it is a lecture. And you have to read the articles because they make up 1/2 of his exams. Very nice guy and because of him I will be taking more Anthro courses!
GREAT professor! Attendance is not mandatory, but half of the exam is based on the lecture and half from the articles. The review sheets cover all of the exams. No curves, but wicked easy exams. 4 total exams (no cumulative final exam). He's a wicked nice guy, I totally recommend taking his class!
Eric Williamson is the best professor I've ever had. He gives you a packet which is essentially the study guide for your exam. He answers every single question in the packet (incorporated into lecture), and his exam questions are directly from the packet. His exams are straight to the point. Wish all professors taught like him.
Go to class and copy the notes word for word and you'll be fine. He highlights what will be on the exam on the review sheets and his exams are ridiculously easy. Interesting class also.
I love this professor. He is an Anthropologist which makes him very passionate about the subject and fun to listen to. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. I used it to do a reading once of twice which you can live without. You MUST attend lecture because PPT slides not posted on his HuskyCT. Overall I highly recommend this prof
He was a very clear professor, the questions on his study guides are the same ones that are on his exams, there are only 5, the last one being the final which isn't cumulative. If you attend every class, take good notes and do the reading than you should be golden. All in all, he was pretty awesome
He is a very good professor. I have never liked history but this class was so interesting. Power points aren't online so write them down and memorize them to ace the tests. Nothing that's not on the study guide shows up on a quiz. He is a very nice person too and he speaks very clearly and loudly. He is always available for help. No textbook needed
He gives you review sheets which contain all the terms and concepts you need to know for the exams. The exams are multiple choice, lists, and essays which are extremely easy. If you do the review sheets you should be perfectly set for the exam.
Williamson is great. Gives review sheets so you know everything that's going to be on the exam. You have to go to class and read the articles on HuskyCT. If you take notes and study, you're golden. Exams are 20 multiple choice, 4 lists, and 2 out of 4 short essays. Definitely recommend for an interesting and easy gen ed. NO BOOK NEEDED!
Great guy. First off, don't buy the book. Your notes are all you need. He gives review sheets with all the questions on exams which makes studying easy. If you take good notes, read the articles on HuskyCT and study, you are guaranteed an A. Definitely take this class for a cool and easy general ed.
Excellent lectures
Fun and easy class. I got a 73 and 74 on the first two exams but I really improved on the next three so be bumped my grade up. No book needed. Just take notes and study them. Also, read the articles online because there are always a few questions from them on exams. I highly recommend Williamson, he's a great professor.
Professor Williamson was one of my best professors. He gives you every question that you will be tested on, but it's a heavy load of work! I received a B, but I'm sure I deserved a C. He means well and he helps as much as he can. He gives out extra credit with every assignment. I never did it. I was overloaded. Easy A if you apply yourself.
Took it over the winter. Extremely easy GenEd. Lectures are extremely clear and he gives you a study guide with al the possible questions for the exam. Exam grades in his class in 100, 90, 100. Not sure harder it is during the semester. You have to attend class, however, because he doesn't post his PowerPoints.
Williamson is an amazing professor. You have to go to class and his lectures are crystal clear. He gives you everything you need to succeed including study guides. Go to lecture, take notes, study and you'll do well. Great class. No book.
Professor Williamson has 5 exams in total and all are the same type which consist of 3 types of questions: multiple choice, list questions (must memorize from lectures and powerpoint), and 4 essays but you only pick 2 out of the 4. His teaching style wasn't for me, even though I studied long hours for all the exams. He is a nice guy and is helpful
Love Williamson. There's 5 non-cumulative exams, which is great. There's 15 multiple choice, 3 lists, and 2 out of 4 short essays. Go to lecture, take good notes, and study them. You're guaranteed a good grade if you do that and also do the brief readings. Great guy and gives you everything you need to do well.
Hands down the best professor at Uconn. He gives review sheets along with every exam, every single question from the exam is on the review sheets. Fill in the review sheets during lecture and it's a guaranteed A. His lectures were very interesting. Overall great guy and great class.
Professor Williamson is honestly the best, he's easy going and he gives out review sheets that have everything the exam covers so you are prepared. Show up, take notes and study from the review sheets and you will, with no doubt, pass with an A. Plus, to me his lectures were extremely interesting. And it was an 8 am class for me so that says a lot.
This Prof knows his stuff! Lectures were great. He's very clear & detailed on his explanations for the concepts u have to know, and if you're ever confused, email him & he will help you out. Go to class!! Take good notes & do your review sheets and articles. He's also low-key funny, you'll catch his humor during the semester. Haha. Take Williamson!
He is the best professor as well as a great human being. He cares about his students and always willing to help. Take him!!!
He has very interesting lectures and inspired me to learn more about anthropology. Before the final, he encouraged us to drive safe instead of worrying about being on time during a snow storm.
Really great Professor. One of the easiest courses you will take! All simply memorization.
One word: BEST! He is one of the most amazing, caring and inspiring professor ever. I learned the most things in his class. He respects everyone, replies to your email, cares about you, and will defiantly guide the class! His exams usually have 20 multiple choice, 4 listing-open ended and one essay. There are total 4 exams. Definetly doable!
BEST professor at UCONN Super short readings to do outside of class, but they're so interesting and the questions attached are easy to answer. Lectures are also great and wonderful. His exams are usually 28 questions but doable Replies to emails and is the most caring professor I've had. He gives you EVERYTHING you need to pass this class with an A
Great Teacher, class was very entertaining and very eye opening. Polite but really great. Very few things to be graded on so hard to bounce back so stay on top of it. Readings, but he writes out what to expect. Just study those and you'll do great
The professor made the material interesting. He gives you review sheets with all the relevant definitions, and questions that you should take note of. On test day just spit it back out on paper. He has a rule where if you show up over 15 minutes late you can't take the test which sucks, so you better tell him beforehand!!
Excellent professor who is clear about the grading criteria and gives good lectures. Your grade in the class is calculated based on your performance on 4 exams. Each exam consists of 20 multiple choice questions, 5 lists, and one short essay. It's crucial that you show up to class and take good notes. Do the readings too. Easy A if you put work.
Prof Williamson is such a nice guy ! His class consist of 4 or 5 exams that are really easy if you study. He gives you a review sheet that consist of everything you should know for the exam. Take him for a decent gen ed to cover.
He is so amazing and speaks in a very passionate manner. I learned so much when taking this course. He really cares for the students and will always grade in a way that benefits you.
Easy A. show up to class, fill out the questions on the study guide in lecture and from the readings; review before exam and you'll pass. barely lifted a finger. lectures answer all the study guide questions, there's nothing confusing about it. very nice person too; talks a little fast though. but I would recommend.
Eric is one of those people who has been enlightened. Not a single ounce of malice or hatred in his heart. A true gentlemen and as down to earth as any person can get. His soft voice would give you goosebumps and tickle your ears with delight. A true master of his domain and simply listening to him taught me my true purpose in this world.
super nice and down to earth professor. very soothing voice. attendance is necessary because he doesn't post his lectures online. super easy exams, multiple choice, short answers, and essay question. have to read articles and watch videos in addition to lectures for the exam. basically memorizing for the exams. 5 exams total
The best professor ever! His lectures are so interesting- 5 exams total, that's all you're graded on the whole semester. Gives you review sheets before every lecture section and those exact questions are on the exam so there are no surprises. Take notes on his powerpoints because he doesn't post them. Easy A if you study/ take notes
An awesome professor. You genuinely learn a lot about the world and hes very inspiring in what he teaches and you can tell hes very passionate. Gives review guides that have all the questions for the exam and he thoroughly explains his power points. Very interesting class & what your notes are on is usually what he says because hes very profound
the best professor. He's so nice and the lectures are very interesting. His exams are the review sheets that he gives you, make sure you read or skim through the articles. Very easy very entertaining, love this class, 10/10. He doesn't post his slides online so make sure you attend.
very nice. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests. 100% would recommend
His slides are the answer keys. Write every freaking single word down in your notebook, and listen to what he has to say, cause he won't post the slides up huskyct and he won't have every single detail on the slides either. Tests are based off your notes and some readings.
I took this class in-person in Fall 2020. He's a really good professor/lecturer. The exams are a little hard because they are on multiple chapters. Review sheets are helpful. There are 5 exams, no homework, no quizzes, no extra credit. I did like him a lot tho. I was fascinated by the content we learned about.
He is the best professor I've had. As long as you come to class, take notes, take some time to review, you're good to go. Graded only on exams which means notes are very important in order to pass. There are review sheets that have the answers to the homework. Overall, very intriguing class and excellent professor.
The class is graded on 5 quizzes and for my class the 5th was our highest quiz grade. The notetaking is very straightforward because you fill out 12 Review Sheets + hw sources and these are exactly the questions that will be on the test.
Took this class on a whim, and it was one of my favorites. Graded solely on your performance on five tests, it is important to come to class, take good notes, and pay attention to his lectures (not posted on HuskyCT). As long as you put in some level of effort to study and prepare, you should receive a good grade in this class. Excellent professor.
Your grade is determined by 4 test that are pretty easy if you study and go to class. Nice guy lectures are interesting
Not sure if his tests changed this semester but this class is far from "easy" as the reviews would imply. He is a really nice guy, but although the material itself isn't necessarily difficult there is an absolutely absurd amount of material to memorize. When you combine that with his decently difficult exams this class is not easy at all.
There is no homework in this class and participation doesn't matter, your overall grade is made up from 5 exams. He does not post lectures online so you need to come to class and take good notes on the information he goes over. You may have to remember a good amount of information, but the exams are SUPER easy if you are able to do that.
Easy class. Just show up and answer the questions on the review sheets he gives you. The exams are the same thing. Only qualm, the man doesn't know what a comma is. Even if he is listing items, he just doesn't use them. For real, can someone teach this man what a comma is. It would make his writing 20x more legible.
I loved Professor Williamson. His lectures can be information filled, but he really enjoys what he is talking about, and that can be felt. I learned to love Anthropology. This class is very easy and an easy A. Go to class, listen, and take notes. You're graded on 5 tests worth 20%, but that shouldn't scare you. The tests were MC, lists, and 1 essay
One thing I very much disliked is the fact that he doesn't want to post any lecture, slides, or any information other then the review sheet for exams. He says himself, "Attendance is not required, but good luck passing the class without coming." Exams are content heavy, but no surprises, for a working student posting slides/lectures is good for me.
Show up and listen.
THE GOAT!!! This class should not stress you out. There's a lot of information to take in but Professor Williamson is very clear about what will be on the exams. Go to class, take notes, and you'll be fine. His lectures were relaxing and the content covered was pretty interesting!
Show up to class, pay attention, and you will do fine. His lectures are very interesting and the exams are a piece of cake. Overall super chill guy as well.
Beautiful Professor. Very clear about what will be on the exams. Slides won't be posted, so make sure to take good notes! Everything he discusses on slides will be on the test, overall great class.
Hats off to Professor Williamson for being awesome. The lecture was fascinating to learn, and he is always here to help if we have any questions. He also understands our struggles and ensures the class is prepared for an upcoming exam. Note: He'll not post the slides other than the review sheets and pdfs attached on HuskyCT. Please take him.
go to class, take notes, study them.. and you will get an A. Gives out a study guide for every lecture and exam
Professor Williamson was a great professor who did not require attendance, but did not post lecture slides, therefore if you did not attend class, you would be screwed for exams. The class is easy and graded on 4 exams, each worth 25% of your final grade. Very little homework outside of class, but you absolutely need to do it to do well on exams.
His lectures feel like you're having a conversation with him about interesting topics, not like information is being thrown at you. You can tell he is passionate about his work by his voice and explanations. - Attendance is mandatory for notes, (he doesn't post them) -Grade is based off only 4 exams, which are easy if you genuinely study for
Just be ready. Your grade is 4 exams (25% each, non-cumulative). He will teach you a lot about the world around you so please I beg of you to actually listen and not just copy down what he says. I know so many people that desperately need this class in their lives. I got a B because I didn't prepare for the first two exams. Great guy. Show up.
Prof. Williamson is so great! As long as you come to class and take notes, you should have no problem succeeding in his class! His lectures were interesting and he has a lot of real life experiences that are cool to hear about. Recommend this class with him!
He is a very nice person but his class is only graded based off 4 exams, which are literally 5 review sheets all crammed into one exam. He doesn't really care about his students doing well and will just tell you to study harder if you ask for help. If you are not a good test taker most def do not take this class.
in the big 2 5 we still gotta come to lecture to get notes? he doesn't care about his students and only has 4 exams each worth 25% so if you're not a test taker RUN. IDGAF "everyone needs this class in their lives" it's literally anth it's not supposed to be this difficult. just take it with someone else I BEG OF YOU.
