Good class, very nice professor. Her lectures are clear and easy to understand. Gave 3 tests and 1 quizz, drops lowest grade. I highly recommend her.

Prof. Doran is the nicest teacher you'll ever meet. Her lecture covers almost 90% of the questions on test. Considering this was a night class, she kept the topic very intersting. Definitely take her.

I repeated this class after getting a D with Horrible R. Baker. I learned more with Prof. Doran than Baker. She is awesome as a professor as a person. I recommend this professor without any reservations. Easy A if you take good notes. You don't even need to buy the book. I got an A and didn't have to take final exam. Lowest grade dropped.

I enjoyed this class with Prof. Doran she is understandable and down to earth. She gives her students many chances to get an excellent grade in her class. Her pop quizzes were annoying & her take home exams require critical thinking. This is a writing intensive course so a lot of the assignments were based on writing. This was a fun class.

Awesome professor! She is nice, understandable, and down-to-earth, and with a sense of humor to boot. Since it was a summer course, she made the exams open-book. She also gives extra-credit options. I recommend her!

This professor is the best professor at QC. She is very understanding, she always gives her students opportunity to work hard to accomplish their grades. Professor Doran is always there to answer any question students have. Even though 232 class was a 3 hour class, she made it fun learning. I always looked forward to go to her class everyday.

Her lectures were fun and very interesting. Her exams are very fair and she gives a lot of extra credit.I?m a senior and in my opinion she?s one of the best professor at Queens College! Take her I don?t believe you?ll regret it.

Professor Doran was one of the best professors at QC. She was very interesting, funny and clear in her lectures. Would have taken her again if I was not graduating. I wish all my professors had been like her. Attendance was not mandatory but it was best to go to each class because the material she presented and the way she presented it was helpful!

She made a tough course manageable, and even fun. Who knew 4 hours could go by so fast?

Dr Doran sincerely cares for her students. She is authentic, fun, and a wealth of knowledge. This is a writing intense course so hand in the drafts, use her feedback, and you`ll do well. Exams are easy if you study your notes. Attendance is key but don`t worry she makes a long class entertaining.

Super easy class. If you have a basic understanding of what good grammar is, you'll do fine on the papers. The tests were based off class notes and discussions, but they were easy and straightforward. Be warned though, the major lab involves handling of rats; to be honest, though, they're kinda cute. If you have the opportunity, take her class.

Dr. Doran is by far the best Professor, time flies fast when you're in her class. She is really strict with grammar, but it helps you later on in life. I wish other Professors were like her!!!!

I would recommend her for any psych class you take if you're a psych major, if you see her name register! . She is worth it and you'll be happy you signed up. Her exams aren't hard, she helps with lab reports and gives you support, every lecture she makes it fun, even when the material is boring she makes every class enjoyable. TAKE HER BEST PROF

She is such a kind and funny person. Really made my winter session worth it. Take good notes!! Textbook not necessary if you take really good notes. Tests are straight forward. Short essay component is really easy and multiple choice requires you to memorize. I got an A and the class required no outside assignments. It was very interesting too

Professor Doran was a great professor. I took the summer 213W course and she was very straightforward and helpful with assignments. There were 4 papers, but she guided the class along.

why can't all professors be like her??! I would pay extra money to just have her teach any psych class i need. She is truly the best psych professor ever!! She guides you through everything, she is soo nice and knowledgeable. You should feel grateful if you have her as your prof.

Good Professor. You don't need the textbook, just make sure you listen to her notes. Talks very quickly, so maybe get the text as a back up. Only gives 2 tests, Midterm and Final. One final paper that was super easy. Attendance isn't mandatory.

Dr. Doran is one of my favorite psych professors. I happen to think she's hilarious. She teaches the material very well. She may go fast at times when lecturing. Her tests are pretty straightforward and she will give back points if she finds a question unfair.

Class is not that difficult. Midterm, final, & a paper. Tests are 40 MC and 2/3 short answers. Very lenient on short answer Qs & usually bumps test grades up by a few points. Studying is a must because some of the test Qs are very specific when it comes to people and milestones at certain ages. Gave over 25pts of EC. Great class & she is hilarious!

She's the best. If you want to get the most of out of your education possible, Dorans your first choice. You will (at a reasonable pace) learn the rules of writing a master piece paper, without the traditional crushing stress of learning to write fantastic papers. There's extra credit (plenty), easy exams, and 4 papers(first 2 are a joke btw).

She's really awesome honestly. Switched to her class losing 2 days worth of info (which is a lot in a 6 wk course) she lectures where I can actually understand it the first time around. Her exams are extremely fair. She's a strict grader w the papers but I learned a lot. I went from being a crappy writer to a less crappy writer lol.

textbook is old so it was probably around 30$ (sorry i can't remember) but it was helpful. Although, if you take good notes you don't need the textbook. 3 exams and a final. Her exams included the questions that majority got wrong on previous exams. She gave opportunity for extra credit which was nice.

She's very knowledgable and keeps the class interesting despite the dull material. She's nice, funny, and uses clear examples to explain concepts. She often lectures the whole class. The tests aren't too bad. If you study class notes you'll do fine! The papers are tricky at first, but she helps you through them. Also, she's strict about grammar.

She is awesome! Took her for a winter session and she made it really easy to sit in her lectures for 3 hours everyday. She is funny and relays the information really well. I wish her class fit my schedule next semester, hopefully I can take her class in the summer. Midterm and final was fair. Listen to the lectures and youll pass.

Erica is the most amazing professor ever. The class itself can get a little boring in the long lectures being that it is 3 hours long, but she is funny and easy to listen to. Do the work, pay attention, participate, have fun with the experiments and you will do fine. She is so genuine and a real gem of a teacher. I honestly really miss her class.

She's helpful and knows her stuff, but YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT TO ASK. That's bold because it's the most important thing about being in her class. She won't spoon feed you, but will answer anything you ask clearly.

As long as you attend class and pay attention, you will do well. Professor Doran is such a sweet person who really cares about her students. She gave a plethora of extra credit opportunities. Her exams were fair and though she did not use PowerPoint slides, her lectures were straightforward.

History and Systems of Psychology was very boring but she made it super interesting. Be ready to have deep conversations of reality she opened my mind about a lot of things. She's an easy A just show up and complete your tests or quizzes. She can get a little disorganized but was still a good class.

Class is basically just 3 tests, plus there's extra credit. Prof Doran even let us bring a cheat sheet to some of the tests. The only thing was, the tests were kind of tricky - answers differed from the notes from lectures. Class average was pretty low. Otherwise, this class is a solid choice.

Professor Doran is not a harsh professor as others below me have commented. This semester was a rather weird one, where we had to transfer online from in person classes. She has more than 2 classes to take care of, which is why slides go up last minute and her exams are fair. You just have to look for key words. She provided an EC paper and EC pts.

Professor Doran lecture heavy and her test is base on what she says in class. She also allows you to create test questions for the exam as for extra credit and allow it to be open book. Her test is both multiple choice and short response

At first she may seem mean. But she isnt. She truly cares about her students and does the best she can to help them. Make sure you show you care and treat her with respect and you should be fine. She was one of my favorite professors.

Her class was very disorganized and she was very late with posting slides. But very little work was needed for this class since it only consisted of 3 exams that could be taking together.

Awesome experience. I learned so much and improved. As a masochist maybe I'm biased for liking the harsh blunt comments but they help me improve.

Students demonize Dr. Doran because they don't know how to write papers and follow instructions. That being said, Dr. Doran is a normal person, she's actually amusing, but she grades harshly and mercilessly. Super high standards. Don't take her if you want an easy time. But she lets you submit rough drafts and allows revisions for credit.

Do not let these bad ratings turn you away from Dr. Doran. She is very knowledgeable and wants you to succeed. She's a tough and very particular grader, however, she gives multiple opportunities to submit drafts of the labs and another chance to resubmit with corrections for a better grade. She was very helpful and kind, I would retake her!

She's very blunt and honest. I personally liked and learned a lot from it, but I find that weaker students don't like her as much. Ask dumb questions, and you get treated like you are dumb. She gives you chances to resubmit papers to earn back up to half the points you missed the first time, which I believe is very fair.

It's a W class so be prepared to write ALOT. 3 papers and 2 exams. She is way better than her co- professor Puzzo. The reviews are a bit mixed but genuinely she just tries to help, and gives good feedback in my opinion. She does the experimental section for my class and she allows rewrites for the labs, always take advantage of that!
