Dr. Kosal teaches the occasional summer class when State asks her to. If you see her name, take the class. The school needs to go ahead and hire her full time, she is a fantastic teacher and takes time to make sure students understand the material, even responding to emails late into the night before a test for those who study at the last minute.
I had Dr. Kosal for BIO 181 during the summer. She is the best professor I have had so far (and I'm a junior now). She cares for students and will help you out! She teaches from PPT, but also does case studies and a lot of group work (easy class points). Make sure to skim the book and do the book questions; a few will be easy test points!
Dr. Kosal is an excellent professor. She is helpful and gives great advice. You can tell that she actually cares whether you understand the material or not. Her tests are straightforward as long as you study adequately to actually understand the information. Make sure you pay attention and take notes on things she SAYS along with the powerpoints!
Nice person, lousy teacher.
One of the worst professors I have ever had.
Class was extremely boring, even though she tried to make it more exciting. She led us in mindfulness exercises every class, which was nice considering the class was almost 2 hours long. Material is really common sense. Manageable amount of HW and reading (about 1 assignment per week). Overall nice but boring
How can you take 2 points off a 5 point assignment because just one word was not used correctly or a grammar mistake? Her lectures are heavy and boring, and her tests were tedious and super hard. I worked way harder in this class than in my major classes. I would not recommend anyone to take her class. Be aware of the long writing assignments.
Loved having her as a professor, but this class will not be an easy A. I wouldn't say she's a tough grader because she will give partial credit, but it's easy to say that you won't be able to guess your way through. With good studying it isn't difficult to do well in her class.
Dr. Kosal is a very nice person and easy to work with. LSC 101 is a super easy class. Just make sure you get your stuff done before class.
Dr. Kosal is a fine lecturer, she tries to make the course material less boring. But get prepared for mountains of busywork. Maybe it's because I took it online and she felt a need to overcompensate or something but she really loves giving you assignments that detract from time you could be spending on more important subjects like math or science.
I had her class for 2 hours so it got very boring. However, she cares about her students and really wants us to learn. I would recommend easily for LSC 101.
Dr. Kosal is a great professor, she cares about her students and puts lots of effort in helping us understand material. However the homework is hefty and she is a tough grader on minor assignments. It's very time consuming as it lasts 2 hours, but the homework was easily much more than that per week. Requires lots of effort for a minor course
Not a bad person but is difficult to learn in class. Assigns group work during class so you have to be in class. We had quizzes every week. Not a bad teacher, but probably would not take again at least not online.
Dr. Kosal is very kind, gives A LOT of group work and long homework assignments, but if you take your time & do them, theyre easy points! The key to passing this class is paying attention to what she says along with the slides. She has a weird way of wording test questions, so make sure you rlly KNOW the material. You have to fight for your A lol
Dr Kosal really tried to engage us in class. She has great slides, but you also need to take notes. She likes group work - almost every class we do something. She also likes to give weekly quizzes instead of a few tests - this is great, but you have to study all the time. She cares A LOT about her students and will bend over backwards for you!
absolutely the worst professor because she teaches you things that is not important. Also very hard grader. The lecture is boring and she makes her class too hard for a two-credit. The test is very random and non-sense. Avoid this professor at all costs.
Honestly, the class is just very useless which is not Dr. Kosal's fault but she has so many unnecessary assignments and homework. It's just a lot of useless busy work and she is a strict grader for a class that is literally about creativity. Would recommend taking the class with literally any other LSC 101 professor. Only good thing was classmates.
Class is really boring and her presentations aren't very good. She assigns a lot of in class work and out of class work.
This class has so much busy work for a class that is only 2 credit hours. I would recommend taking another professor. Her grading is also very harsh. The final "portfolio" consisted of 3 papers, a final exam, AND a group project.
Shes nice, but she grades way too hard (although you will still get a good grade in the end) her class is so boring and this class has so much pointless homework. The finals are the worst you have a group project (she said make it about 5 mins mine was 5:30 and I got points deducted) , 3 papers and a final exam. Too much work for 2 credits
Too much work for a 2 credit class. The amount of projects due at the end of the semester was very overwhelming. Lots of group work. Dr. Kosal is kind and responds to emails quickly, but her class has a lot of work and can be boring sometimes.
I had a really rough semester and Dr. Kosal worked with me with a whole bunch of late assignments and missing class. I would recommend here for any course. She actually cares about her students.
I was in the honors section and the class was completely fine until the last two weeks when she dumped like 4 essays and 3 projects on us all due at once. Other than that, as long as you pay attention in class and do the group participation questions it's fine.
She is a good teacher, she LOVES group work. We did something in a group nearly every class, so participation matters a lot. She only gives out quizzes, however, they are worded weird and extremely difficult to get a decent grade on. She's okay overall, but expect to study insane amounts.
I don't think I have ever seen a professor as generous & thoughtful as Dr. Kosal. There are quizzes every 2 weeks which usually seem challenging, but if you put in the time to pay attention and study, they're fair. Lots of group work, weekly quiz review sessions (w/ great TAs), & a lot of interesting material! Take her if you can & get to know her!
This professor has extremely hard quizzes, all quizzes are cumulative and the class average is always below a 50. DO NOT RECOMMENED. Poor teaching and hardly offers extra credit. No curves on the quizzes either.
Erica Kosal gets very excited about teaching she rushed through a lot of the slides. I love her energy but sometimes it is a lot of information thrown at my face and slapped me. ALthough she does give extra credit very often which helps a lot!
Dr. Kosal is very kind in person and a sweet professor. She is VERY lecture heavy and they get boring. Also, a ton of quizzes, which are hard. Her homeworks are usually long and tedious and there will be group questions in class. Some quiz questions felt like we didn't go over much. She offers extra credit and TAs are great during review sessions.
Dr. Kosal is a very fair professor. She is definitely far from what I'd consider to be the "worst professor ever". There isn't anything bad about her, but the difficulty of the quizzes was really frustrating. Seemed as though you either got a batch of easy questions or hard ones.. no in-between. But, if you study, you're bound to do decently well.
jesus yall.. this class took a lot out of me. kosal is passionate about what she teaches and it shows through her energy, but girl, she fliesss through them slides! i get its a lot of material to cover, but still. those quizzes were rough ngl, but just pay attention, push through, and they'll be ok. wish we had larger extra credit opportunities
Nice as a person mediocre as a professor Not terrible tho
All quizzes cumulative and very difficult, not an easy course. Hardly an extra credit or any curves on her quizzes.Quiz averages are always very low.
Professor Kosal does not have a good teaching style, is hard to understand the material, LECTURE HEAVY, impossible to pass the quizzes. no curves either.
Kosal is a very nice professor She always asked us how she could better her class which was kind. It was difficult to write down notes because of how fast she went through her powerpoint. The mini quizzes she gave were also hard, but the review sessions helped. If you want an easy A take someone else. Kosal will really make you fight for your A lol
"Worst professor ever" is definitely a stretch. Dr.Kosal is an amazing professor, but her class is not an easy A. She gives biweekly quizzes which are tough. However, if you dedicate the time outside of class to study, you should be fine. She also gives group assignments so skipping her class is not recommended. Overall, I really liked her.
Proffessor kosal is lousy and class averages on quizzes are always below a 50. don't recommend
I genuinely enjoyed being taught by Dr. Kosal. Quizzes are kind of hit or miss because you can get a batch of easy or hard questions as it's randomized and wording can be a bit tricky. Some of y'all need to take accountability for your low quiz grades because if you studied (well), you wouldn't be getting a 50. GO TO HER SPRINGBOARDING HOURS.
The class itself is difficult, but if you show some effort and study the way she tells you to, it all pays off. As for Dr. Kosal, she is the sweetest professor I've had. If you have any troubles or concerns, visit her office hours and they'll all disappear. It's like talking to an old friend you haven't talked to in years! she is such a gem!!
She is an amazing professor and cares a lot about her students. The quizzes are very hit or miss as the questions are cumulative and randomized, but if you take her advice and study often for small chunks you should be okay. There is such a large amount of information, but she offers several opportunities for help outside of class.
Really enjoyed having Dr. Kosal. This course is a bit tough but if you study for each quiz and the final exam, you should do pretty well. Gonna miss having her!!
she's an icon, she's a legend, and she IS the moment. my fav prof.
Dr. Kosal is phenomenal! By far the most encouraging and thoughtful professor I've ever met. If you stick with her studying strategy, you'll be golden (and you won't have to study that much for the final). While you're at it, visit her during office hours and get to know her! So so chill and such a happy, bubbly person! An absolute must for BIO181
Dr. Kosal knows her stuff and teaches in a fun way. We did group work almost every time for points and they are easy points. She used quizzes instead of exams so you had to keep studying throughout the semester. This made me really learn the material. She is super nice and gives lots of extra credit too.
Pay attention in class and go to SI and you will pass with an A no doubt. Dr. Kosal is very responsive to feedback from students and sets clear expectations in class. She could be a little more organized but she makes up for it by being genuine and caring.
Fun class with group project. Homework every class but easy homework that actually makes you think about things in a cool way
Test heavy as in test can be HARD. The only reason why I have a C was because I had no structure. The teaching is similar to her critical thinking class which is okay but needs to be more biologically direct. Her TA's are spot on. You will NEVER be bored in her class. Very respectful and will respect you back if you work for it. Study hard!
Does mindfulness practices here and there, loved. Class was long so be sure to eat and nap before! Very interesting lectures and passionate stem women. I love the inclusiveness in her class and the groups, lowkey felt like high school again. Easy class but put in effort the your group project! Assignment forgiving and caring if you open up to her.
Dr. Kosal was okay. This class felt very boring at 8:30 in the morning. There was also so much homework for this class, which was ridiculous because it was once a week. I felt like I gained nothing from this class and that it was a waste of my time.
For being a 2 credit class, she assigns more work than any of my other classes this semester. Also, she assigned us into groups for the whole semester, including the final project, so be prepared for that
Dr. Kosal is great and very sweet but gives so much work!! You get multiple papers and homework assignments every single week. It was very stressful to do this much work for a two-hour credit class alongside other core classes. The class is also group based so be prepared for that. The class is definitely due able but it is just a lot of work!
A lot of the assignments in the class are graded tough for no reason. Was expecting this to be an easy class for an A+ but I'm not sure that she gives them. Final and quizzes were difficult because this class is not a priority. Overall she's nice and it is better than honors seminars.
Dr. Kosal is incredibly smart and caring. There is a LOT of group work, as in, group work everyday in this class, so be prepared. There are biweekly quizzes which tended to be difficult, but if you attend the TA review sessions and study regularly, they aren't bad. Her TAs were perfect and very helpful. Overall, a great professor and class.
Dr Kosal is so nice and really wants you to like her class. However there is so much work and none of it is beneficial. Straight up busy work. For a 2 hour credit you wouldn't expect to have more work than your core classes but you will. Not many tests but your grade is based on group work. You'll have weekly homework and journal prompts and essays
Dr. Kosal is a nice professor and cares about her students but gives SO MUCH work. There is homework every week and its not something you can get done quickly or bs. She grades for accuracy on homework questions. There are many papers/essays/journal prompts/etc. throughout the semester. Her class is doable but definitely get ready for alot of work.
Dr. Kosal was a lot of fun and very nice, but this class is pointless. Lots of papers and weekly homework which became time consuming. Group work for the entire semester. Grading was tougher than other classes, so you need to spend time on it. I really enjoyed Dr. Kosal, just not what she was teaching.
Dr. Kosal was a great professor and the classes were always interesting and interactive. With that being said, the class is very group-oriented, so be prepared to work with other people a good amount each class.
Dr. Kosal's class was very stress free. There were a lot of quizzes that were difficult, but if you got above an 80, you'd automatically get a 100. She offered retakes too if you didn't do well. There's a lot of classwork so you need to go to class. Lecture got boring sometimes but Dr. Kosal was helpful and sweet. Go to the TA review sessions!
She explained things really well, but there was a lot of group work. There are 6 quizzes instead of semester tests which help the grade so much. I would take her again because the class was overall easy.
She lets you take retakes of quizzes. Super nice too!
You work in groups during the semester which breaks up lecture and is helpful overall. I love that I could retake my quizzes multiple times for a better grade. If you earn 80% or higher you get full credit. No exams except the final. She makes class interesting too.
She was a great professor. The quizzes were a little difficult but the way she graded them made it easy not to fail or do bad. Attendance isn't mandatory but you need to come anyways bc there is usually a lot of group work. Lectures got dry sometimes (mostly not) but her kindness and compassion for everyone didn't go unnoticed. Take her if you can!
Easy class. Dr. Erica Kosal knows her stuff and helped make the class be simple. She had really good TAs that offered review sessions for quizzes with ppts. Go to them because they helped my grade a lott!
She taught in a confusing middle school way. There were no tests in her class, but there were six quizzes, which were basically tests with very confusing wording. She was an ok professor but overall a class I wish I skipped my freshman year.
Dr. Kosal made this class more work than it was meant to be. Notable stressful assignments include: 2 2000-word reflections with 1 week to work, a "semester-long" group project introduced halfway through the semester, and very particular ways to do citations. She is a nice person, but bad at managing assignment weight and distribution.
Kosal is amazing! No tests, but biweekly quizzes. It is easy to prepare for quizzes as long as you take decent notes and go over them. She and the TAs provide ample review opportunities to prep for these quizzes and you can always have a retest. Lectures are interesting and easy to follow
Mrs. Kosal was great but this class is very boring lol. Since she is the head of the LSFY department she shares a lot of opportunities during class which is nice. We had more homework than I expected for a two credit class. There are two books we read and then have homework assignments for, four journal prompts and two main reflection papers.
Dr. Kosal is so sweet and caring! There are
This class has way more work than necessary. Lectures are about specific scientists/experiments, but the homework is out of the book and about your own experience. Everything in class is group work, and everyone is graded the same. Dr. Kosal is great and very helpful outside of class, but there is so much work compared to the material.
Super nice. Good to work in groups. Learned a lot.
For an intro to college course, it felt a lot like a high school class with all the groupwork. A lot of work for the amount of credits the course is worth. Interesting case study. Two textbooks for readings.
The semester isn't over yet but I just went to see her in her office. She is so nice and understanding. Class is fun - always interesting. Time goes by quickly because you are working a lot in groups. You can retake a test and the textbook is free and online.
Dr. Kosal is nice, however, everything she explains is confusing, the mini-test questions make 0 sense, and she speeds through lectures. You need to study a lot, as she asks about the smallest details on the test. If you get a B or higher on the tests you get an automatic 100%, which made it more bearable. There are 100% better professors to take.
This class is not difficult, however there are 5 tests through the semester that are described as "mini-tests" but are not at all mini, they are full-length exams and have some hyper specific questions. Slides are not posted until well after class. There are 2 homework assignments that were not difficult but took some time.
Very sweet professor. Her lectures are sometimes a little dry but she cares a lot about everyone and tries her best to be engaging. About 7 "Mini-tests" which are pretty much real tests but for smaller point values (any grade above 80 becomes a 100). She has 4 learning assistants which have been very helpful in the studying process. I recommend her
Dr. Kosal is such a sweet and amazing person and a passionate professor, she is a kind person who gives every opportunity for you to do well in her course. Everything is pretty straightforward when it comes to expectations- Mini Tests can sometimes be difficult but with the help of the TAs and LAs you will be fine. Take her if you can!
Dr. Kosal was good however her teaching style had a very high school feel to it. 181 is the bio class many freshman take so I understand. She does 6 "mini-test" that you just have to get an 80% on to be counted as a 100% (you can retake to). While these test are mostly easy and straightforward sometimes the questions actually make zero sense at all
She's super nice and gives lots of opportunities to do well. She lets you retake tests and if you score above an 80 she rounds to a 100. There's a lot of group work in class but the questions are super easy. The only thing is that it's difficult to calculate grades in Moodle and sometimes her lectures go over time. Otherwise 10/10 reccomend!
Dr. Kosal is an amazing professor and a very nice person. Attendance is not mandatory but all of the assignments are easy group work completed in class each day, so you can't miss class. "Mini Tests" were every other week, but this was too much for me to study after basically every lecture, I'd rather have 3-4 large exams.
I wouldn't recommend Dr. Kosal. Her class was weirdly formatted, and she explained the material in a way that made it more confusing and took longer than needed. Only 3 homework assignments, 2/3 took over two hours. Attendance is mandatory with in-class group assignments and mini-tests every two weeks. I would've rather done it online.
Clearly an introductory class that has somewhat of a highschool feel. Dr. Kosal is passionate about biology though and includes interesting stories, case studies, etc. in her lectures. 6 mini tests and a final instead of the normal 3 quizzes, but if you get an 80 you get full credit which was nice (unless you get a 79 haha).
there are mini tests instead of actual exams. Get above an 80 on them and your grade gets bumped up to a 100. You can also retake the test and your grade gets bumped if you score 85 or more. Very nice and accessible outside of class. Read the lecture slides and you'll be good. the textbook readings weren't that crucial to doing well on the tests.
She was easy to get ahold of outside of class when I had trouble. 6 mini quizzes, which you need an 80 on to pass. Content heavy, be sure to study a lot for her class. Review material shows up on every mini quiz. Prepare for that.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Kosal! She is a kind professor who does a good job meeting students where they are. I appreciated having to answer group questions periodically during lecture to keep me awake and attentive. The mini tests are pretty reasonable and the LA review sessions are SUPER helpful, definitely try to attend weekly if you can!
If you have any interest in biology, this class should not be overly difficult or stressful. The main thing to remember is to show up to class, take notes, and ask questions. Instead of giving 3 exams and a final, she gives a mini-test every other week, but if you score an 80 or above it's automatically an 100. Also offers retakes for full credit.
I felt like this class was very unnecessary. She makes you write 2000-word essays about a meaningless topic. If you're absent or come late she lectures you outside the class. Nice person but very passive-aggressive.
Dr. Kosal is the best professor I've ever had. She is thorough in her explanations and very nice when questions are asked. Loved how she didn't do big exams but small quizzes every other week. An amazing person and professor overall.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS OR ANY OF HER CLASSES!!! Her class is difficult for no reason, and it is only a two-credit class. She is very rude and petty, and she will show it. She expects you to treat her class like it is the only class you take.
WHY was this class so difficult. It only counts as a 2 credit class but is a 3 credit honors course? This is the Red Wedding of college classes. There are so many LONG papers to write, and I was doing the most unnecessary homework. I need to study for Chemistry not write about my mindset. Please for the love of God take the non-honors section.
Class is required for LSFYs and kinda boring, but good for honors seminar credit since it counts as 3. TAs grade kinda harsh on writing, which is most of the class. Instructions can be vague sometimes. Pray you have a good group because your grade depends on it. Very rushed classes. She's kinda "fake nice", if that makes sense but always positive.
I love her! Amazing class a little challenging but she really knows her stuff! She gives people who score over an 80 an automatic 100– and gives extra credit! Just be diligent and show you care— great professor and person overall!
Dr Kosal is fantastic. I'm not sure what others are saying about her attitude - she is one of the nicest professors I know. We wrote several reflections but these were easy- not sure what people are complaining about. None of the extra work we did because this was a honors course was hard and I actually learned to write better as a result.
Dr. Kosal is the best. I did find my creative thinking improving as a result of taking this class. She covers a lot of material in class, but it is all helpful and useful. Taking the honors section meant we had to write an argumentative essay and map some articles, but she stretched it over the semester so it was never overwhelming.
I love Dr. Kosal. Her class was laid back and comfortable. She was super nice to everyone and caring. Her class was not stressful, but you had to do the work. Some of the people who did not like this class are just lazy. There was maybe one assignment a week, if that, so to succeed you obviously need to take your homework seriously.
This class was unnecessarily long and time-consuming, focusing on impractical topics like "creative thinking." For a 2-credit course, the workload was excessive. Dr. Kosal and her TAs graded harshly, penalizing minor mistakes, and her feedback on essays was often rude and unhelpful. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this class.
This class is mandatory for LSFY program students, but avoid taking LSC101H or LSC101 with Dr. Kosal if possible. Her grading is overly harsh for simple tasks, and she rushes through nearly three-hour classes, often keeping students late. Her unprofessional attitude makes the experience even worse.
She is great. Made class fun - loved working in our groups. We did have to map articles and write a paper for the honor's credit, but it was fine. The mapping aspect was quite helpful.
This class has a very high school feel to it. Dr. Kosal is nice but sometimes lecture can sort of drag on and it gets easy to nod off. Not a whole lot of work to do which is nice. I wish lectures had a little more energy but it's probably just because its an 8:30. The tests are fine if you go to help sessions with her TAs. Overall pretty good!
She seems nice enough, but I don't feel like I'm actually learning anything. Lectures are really boring and she takes herself way too seriously. Exams are fine if you study for them. I definitely think you can find more engaging teachers to take this course with.
If you get to meet her outside of class she is very nice. The class is sometimes slow paced but the stuff we learn really isn't that difficult to understand. Her learning assistants are helpful. Tests are hard but she offers retakes and anything above a 80 on a test equals automatic 100. Tophat for attendance and sometimes group work. Overall great
Dr. Kosal is a nice professor who wants you to succeed; however, her teaching method mainly consists of her showing YouTube videos during class time and rambling about them. However, the textbook is really helpful. I feel that I could succeed in her class by just reading the textbook and skipping her lectures.
Dr. Kosal's class is very similar to a high school class. Her tests are very easy if you pay attention during lecture and take notes. If you pass an exam with an 80% or higher, it automatically becomes a 100 at the end of the semester. She also allows retakes for exams if you fail to meet the benchmark.
Pretty good teacher. Very nice and understanding. Responds to emails quickly with any questions about the class/topics. 80% benchmark in tests + retakes. Downsides: she puts questions from previous tests topics on tests, has a few meaningless hw assignments, and she makes you talk to people around you. Use textbook!!! 4+ absences = no class credit.
The class is difficult but doable. She is very kind and wants to help you succeed, but you need to spend a lot of time studying for her exams because they can be hard!! Some of the tests have review questions from past exams which makes it more frustrating because you have to study more. If you get above 80% on tests you get automatic 100% though.
She honestly great and everyone complaining is just scared of hard work. Its a biology class of course its supposed to be lecture heavy, she breaks down topics, teaches you how to learn them, teaches how to study for exams! She very caring, accessible, u need to take initiative and put in the hard work. You literally get benchmark exams
This course is a lot, but Intro Bio is a lot, period. You HAVE to study. She provides plenty of material for that, so no excuse. Overall, it's a solid class. The professor is a little unnerving sometimes, but she really wants us to do well. 80% benchmark for full credit is as generous as it gets! (Small unrelated plus, she's nice to look at too
Pro: test retakes, good study resources, caring, free textbook, grades quickly, fun labs. Con: best to ask classmates q's before her (doesn't like repeating herself if it's ab things like grading policies ), Moodle disorganized, hard to tell grade till very end, attendance graded. Overall: recommend her class! Study material & you'll do well :)
80% or higher gives you 100% on exams. Plus she gives retakes. Super nice. Class was interesting too
Good lecturer. Answered questions in groups and then tophat every class which was helpful. Lots of practice sites and practice sites and resources to help you. She really cares and wants you to learn. She uses benchmarking on tests so if you get a 80 or higher you get full credit. So great!
Dr. Kosal was one of my favorite professors this semester. Not because of the class, but because of how nice she is. I actually thought class was boring, but if you see her in office hours she is a sweetheart. I did not like the topics in BIO181 and I really hope she teaches another class so I can take her again. Retakes available for bad exam days
Kosal was a good prof. Lectures are mandatory, with a LOT of tophat questions (can make or break your grade). The "benchmarks" on tests were lifesavers (if you get >79, it's a 100), but tests are oddly specific from the specific random facts from class. The lab is tedious and slightly annoying. Overall, a really nice prof. but study for the tests!
This was a 5-week summer course, so the tests were very generalized and fair. Any test score >80% will get entered as a 100. In class group work everyday wasn't just a completion grade, so most of my bad grades came from there. It was a graded assignment on the material you just learned 5 mins before which was annoying. Easy class, got an A+!
Be prepared to work in groups every single day in class. It was frustrating but the class itself was fine. Dr. K and her TA were pretty nice and they gave a lot of resources to help for exams. All of the exams were cake walks and if you got above an 80% you automatically got a 100%. Lectures were lowkey boring but she made stuff easy to understand.
The class was easy, however, there is homework every week and uses multiple books. She was rude, passive aggressive, and make snide remarks. In class your assigned a group and work with them all semester. If there was extra time at the end of class you could not leave but where forced to work on homework. Also likes to be nosy when walking by you.
I can't speak for BIO183, but if you are taking LSC101, LOOK FOR ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR. Honestly, you should try as hard as possible (and I'm not exaggerating) to get out of the class entirely (be a transfer student, change majors, something). Inconsistent grading, entirely too much work for 2CHs, honors section was held to ridiculous standards.
Dr. Kosal is nice enough, but as a teacher, she is very inconsistent, and even missing a few assignments can mess up your grade. If you try hard enough, you will do fine, but the way she sets up Moodle is just so confusing, and part of your grade is reliant on your group members. Attendance is mandatory.
Dr. Kosal is super nice and fun to talk to outside of class. I unfortunately had this class at 8:30 on Friday mornings, so that sucked, but the lectures were interesting. Her TA's were kind of unnecessarily tough graders, but if you have a good group in class it's fine.
