Dr. McGreevy is one of my favorite professors Ive ever had. She is so wonderful and caring. She really knows her Biology, and she teaches so well that if youre not doing well it is most likely because youre not putting in the effort. She asks you to put in the work, but if you do you will be well rewarded. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS, theyre great!

THE BEST EVER! Bio1 is infamously hard but she makes it fun and incorporates case studies to relate the material to the real world. I have never taken bio before and I got As on all exams. I studies ungodly hard but it pays off. She has more than 24 TA office hours a week and her OH are the best, she can explain anything you ask perfectly.

McGreevy is the best biology 1 professor Pitt has to offer. She has very clear lectures and the tests are based on lecture, so I never used the book. Take her if you have the chance. She also records her lectures, so if you miss a class it is possible to just watch it later, however tophat is a part of your participation grade.

Erica McGreevy is by far the best professor in biology and arguably one of the best at Pitt. She is organized, efficient, and an inspirational person. Makes you work for your results and will sit down with you to make sure you do your best. A great person. Take her at all costs!

Prof McGreevy is a fantastic lecturer and a nice person. She does everything to make her bio lectures resonate with the audience, rather than just ramble on. Material is tough as hell sometimes, and there's a lot to memorize, but the way she teaches things, you will understand concepts so memorization is easy. If you work hard, you'll get an A.

I thought Dr. McGreevy was a fantastic lecturer. Shes clear, efficient, and knows her stuff. Her tests really werent that bad... yes, she makes you work for your grade, but this is a college level biology course so thats expected. I didnt take AP biology and I thought she was easy to follow and she made her expectations extremely clear.

Take Dr. McGreevy if you can. She is the best professor to take for Bio 150. Her lectures are interesting, she records her lecture too so you can listen to them after class, and she responds to emails very quickly. Exams aren't too bad, and she gives extra credit after each exam.

Super sweet, knows what she's talking about, challenges you but it's not impossible to do well. Has a ton of TAs with office hours that really help if you're confused. Very structured classes and recitations that are actually helpful. 3 exams and a final, drops lowest exam grade. Would take again!

Dr. McGreevy is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. Her class isn't easy, but the help that's accessible makes it really hard for someone struggling in the class to not show improvement throughout the semester. She genuinely made learning bio really fun and engaging.

Solid lecturer, helpful and mandatory recitation, fair grader, and very nice. Best bio 1 teacher, I didn't need to use the textbook and just studied from lecture recordings, notes, and study guides. Lectures are skippable and recordings are posted online but there are graded top hat questions.

She knows what she's talking about. I spent most of the semester going back and forth trying to decide if I hated her (bc It was hard work) or if I wanted to be her. I spent at least an hour studying for this class every night. The tests are very challenging but if you go to class and put in the time you should be okay. Go to office hours!

Definitely the best professor you can take for Bio 1. I'm not a morning person by any means, but I would take her 8am ten times over if it meant I had her again. She thoroughly explained material, had very organized slides, was very prepared for every lecture, and even loved to throw in a joke every once in a while.

Dr. McGreevy is an excellent professor and lecturer. She has a deep understanding of biology which she translates into clear and concise lectures. It is super important to go to those. I think it would be helpful to read the book, and the tests can be a little bit difficult. Recitation quizzes are a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class!

McGreevy is an angel. I took Honors and AP Bio in high school and hated them, but she somehow made me enjoy learning bio at 8 am. Exams are challenging and you need to put in lots of work, but it's 100% worth it. She doesn't expect you to have prior knowledge and gives you all the resources you need to do well. Hands down the best professor I have ever had. I came into her class with zero knowledge of Biology and came out with an A+. She really provides you with everything you need to do well. Engaging lecture with plenty of jokes and examples sprinkled in, great recitations that help you actually practive and understand the material. I hated Biology before I took McGreevy's Bio 1 class, but came out as a Bio major. Difficult class but you will learn so much, and I have never had a professor more involved in making sure you get the most out of a class. She is well organized and the expectations are very clear, I gained lots of study skills from this class.

This was a very difficult class. The material is not easy and requires a TON of studying. McGreevy is a super nice and chill professor who wants you to do well. Be prepared to work but don't be nervous if you don't do too hot on exams, the final is a lot easier.

This is the one class I was actually able to pay attention in. Lectures were made interesting: very interactive, lots of tophat questions. Lecture recordings are posted online, which made it very helpful to review came exam time. However, when it comes to exams you really have to KNOW the material.

She is really good at explaining concepts. The tests are not bad, and but it is easy to lose points since they are 40 multiple choice and each exam is 100 points (3 midterms, can drop lowest). Its kinda mandatory to attend lecture since she uses tophat. The textbook isn't used but it comes with the Launchpad, which we do use for homework.

However, the final class grade is determined by mostly the exams, which were 40 Qs and all 100 points: it doesn't matter how well you do on homework, recitations quizzes, tophat questions, etc.

Had to drop the class because of my other courses which where already challenging. She's a great professor, she gives a lot of feedback and many extra resources to get a good grade. She WANTS you to do good and she cares! Her exams are difficult though and you have to study A LOT. They're multiple choice but still challenging. 100% recommend.

I had McGreevy for Module 3 of Bio0150. I wrote down every little thing she said in lecture recordings, did the TopHats all correctly, and the study guides and I still only did well on 1 of her 3 quizzes. You will learn a lot from her, but pay attention to minor details.

I had her for module 3 for bio 0150 and by far she is the best professor I have had. I did the best in her module. The book did not help but her lectures were what got me through in her portion of the class. If you have the chance then please take her!

None of these good reviews are exaggerations, McGreevy is truly this helpful and good at her job. She is funny, understanding, and always well prepared. She expects a lot out of her students for her exams, but you will do well as long as you pay attention in class and recitation. I did not touch the textbook once, and I still did very well.

I had Dr. McGreevy for metabolism. She is a good lecturer and explains things well. Take good notes, do practice problems, and complete the study guides. Her quizzes were fair. The material of this module wasn't my strongest, but my quiz grades were decent compared to the others. She is organized and gives a summary at the end of lecture videos.

Quizzes are tough, but you will walk away with a thorough understanding of the subject material. She's very sweet, but can be stubborn about grading (ex: 60% of the class chose the same "wrong" answer on a quiz and she refused to consider a regrade). But overall an excellent lecturer, good teacher, and nice person!

wish I had her the whole semester :( had her for the metabolism unit of bio 1 and she was wonderful. quizzes were very tough and I couldve done better than I did, but she seems so sweet and explains concepts so well and relates topics to real-world scenarios so its easier to understand the material. def will take for biochem

Class was set up with 4 different teachers for 4 modules. Hard to adapt to each teacher's teaching and examination style. 14 quizzes (can drop 2 quizzes. Highest 12) Need to work for your grade. Prof McGreevy specifically balanced lecture material and TopHat and what was expected on quiz. Lecture is lengthy but McGreevy is clear-cut.

Out of the four professors I had for Bio 1 this year, Dr. McGreevy was certainly the best. I felt that her lectures were a little slow at first, but she definitely is good at explaining complex topics thoroughly and her quizzes are reflective of her lectures.

One of the best professors Ive taken in my four years at Pitt. Her lectures are prerecorded, with synchronous break out rooms to do practice problems. 6 open-note quizzes, one is dropped and you have the option of replacing your final grade with another quiz. You have to study but it is not impossible to end with an A.

I took Dr. McGreevy's class last fall, and she is probably the best bio prof I've had! She explains concepts clearly and thoroughly during lectures (and cracks jokes sometimes!). Her recitation assignments reinforced the concepts taught, and her UTAs' review packets really helped prepare you for exams. Take her if you can!

Amazing bio prof! Bio was asynchronous this semester, so I only interacted with her in office hours. She explains/draws concepts super well and is really helpful & nice when you're confused. She taught one unit(shared with other profs) and explained it all really well. I hope to take her microbio class later on.

I had Dr. McGreevy fully online with 3 other professors and she was by far the best and most engaging lecturer. Her powerpoints are descriptive and she really goes into depth by drawing out diagrams so you fully understand everything. Her test questions were fair. She is very kind and knowledgeable. If you don't get concepts, reach out/ask bc she cares and will take the time to thoroughly explain. I never used the textbook and got an A. Don't buy it, save yourself $80.

Superb professor for Biochem. We did everything over Tophat and Canvas using a flipped classroom setting, but (unlike many other bio Profs) she was super organized and clear about due dates, test info, and extra help. Also a ray of sunshine during this pandemic. Would take any and all classes she has to offer.

You can tell that she really cares about her students and the subject she teaches. Bio 150 is a hard class, but she provides lots of resources for practice. If you put the work in, you will learn a lot. Ty Dr. M!

I would argue that Dr. McGreevy has been by far the best professor I have had at Pitt so far. Her lectures are engaging, informative, and understandable. You can tell she really cares about her students and is willing to help with anything. I highly recommend taking her class!!!!

Great bio professor. No exams, quizzes only. these quizzes are difficult and you will need to study a lot. There are tons of TA office hours as well as her office hours. She helped me a lot and was willing to have many meetings with me as I was struggling and was looking for some insight. You will need to put in a lot of time outside of the class

McGreevy is the sweetest more caring prof Pitt has. She is super organized and makes it so easy to get extra help. She really cares about her students and I felt cared about even in a class of 300 people. If you are lucky enough to have the option to take her LEAP JUMP and RUN to the chance.

Dr. McGreevey is very knowledgeable, lectures were interesting, and she is amazing at explaining difficult topics. There's a lot of help available if you're struggling. Expectations are clear and the class is organized very well. I feel prepared for Bio 2. It was by no means an easy class, but I learned so much. She truly cares about her students!

out of all the bio profs she has the most TAs so theres a lot of support outside of class. super nice prof and makes jokes/very chill during lecture. doesn't rush thru material and even skipped a lecture to avoid rushing when we were behind. quizzes take some getting used to as they are mcqs and application based but she teaches well enough

Dr. McGreevy is a great choice for bio 1. She takes the time to explain things in depth, and you can really tell she cares about her students. Although the quizzes are difficult, if you study enough you can do really well.

McGreevy is a solid choice for bio 1. She is very intelligent and goes into great detail on every topic. Her lectures are very intense so be ready to give her your full attention. The 8 quizzes that the class is comprised of are not easy, and definitely require you to study.

Amazing lectures are very organized and cover everything that's on the quizzes. Good COVID policy built into syllabus: two dropped quizzes/recitations/hw account for being sick 2 weeks, and she records/posts her lectures. No final exam, just another quiz. Also, she recommends you write notes on the slides and it's really the best strategy!

By far one of the most caring professors at Pitt. Her class can be lecture heavy, but in a very manageable way. As long as you review/understand the material on her powerpoint slides you will do well.

We took eight quizzes and dropped the two lowest, and got a few easy points every week from recitation and homework TopHats. I would definitely take her for Bio 1.

Her grading system is very fair and forgiving, and her lectures are very clear and easy to follow. If you can take Foundations of Bio I with her PLEASE do! You will not regret it!

Her quizzes don't have any unexpected material and are based only on the lectures. The 2 lowest quiz and homework grades and 3 lowest recitation grades are dropped, which helped reduce stress.

I managed to squeeze by with a C, though I regret not studying more at the beginning of the semester.

Erica is an amazing professor to work with and learn from. I highly recommend her for freshmen starting out in biology. Her grading is very fair, while also giving very helpful lectures throughout the semester. Most of the lecture information will be on the quizzes too, so it's nothing you won't be familiar with.

Professor McGreevy is a great choice for Bio. She is very fun in class and really wants students to succeed. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't go it will be hard to catch up. Reading the textbook before lectures really helped me. Grade consists of 8 quizzes and hw but the hw is only 2 points and recitation is 1. Highly recommend her!

Came into college as a bio major who honestly didn't even like bio that much and wasn't even sure why I decided to major in it. But having her first semester for Bio 150 single-handedly made me love the subject and I now can't wait to go further in it. I've never taken a bio class where I actually looked forward to going to and then I had her.

I loved this class! I always felt supported by office hours, study guides, etc. McGreevy is the best professor I've had, on top of being a really smart biologist. She made the transition from high school to college so much smoother by structuring the class in a way that forces you to study consistently, and she lets you drop the worst 2/8 quizzes.

Quite possibly the best professor I've had at Pitt thus far. She teaches a class of 300 students yet somehow has the ability to respond to every email or question within a couple hours. The lectures are thorough and clear The quiz's are challenging but manageable if you work hard.

The BEST professor for bio 1!!! I came into this class feeling nervous without taking AP bio in high school, but McGreevy is an amazing lecturer. There's good reason as to why Dr. McGreevy's rating is so high - she is one of the nicest and most caring professors at Pitt. She's incredibly knowledgable and is fast to answer all questions. Personally I don't really like some of her exam questions (can get specific), but as long as you study you should have no problem getting a B or better.

Do yourself a favor and take Biochem with McGreevy. The content is no walk in the park obviously, but she (and her UTAs) made it all very bearable and are EXCELLENT at explaining the material. Accessible for questions and cares about all of her students. Micro is flipped so you will spend a good amount of time watching lecture videos, but its manageable.

McGreevy is really passionate about biology and her teaching reflects her enthusiasm for the subject. Going to her lectures is very helpful, but you can always watch the recordings if you miss a lecture. One thing I did not love about her class was that the tests are tricky (easy to make mistakes), and this does not test you on the course content.

As someone who doesn't enjoy biology, she is good at what she does. She could go fast during lectures sometimes but she was otherwise very clear and concise. Exams were pretty difficult. She gives a total of five exams including the final, but the lowest score is dropped.

The lectures are long and (slightly) boring but I think she does a good job of adding in relevant examples to tie the biology to relevant topics in real life. For exams you can drop one so if you do good on the first four you don't need to take the final! Recommend

However, lectures are recorded for students to rewatch later. There are 4 midterms & a final. You can drop the final as long as you took all 4 midterms. If you took AP Bio, you will be fine.

Very nice person and great professor. The material was difficult for me and this was my third and last time taking bio 1 and she was my favorite professor. She has a very fair grade system drops one exam so you don't have to take the final, drops a few homeworks, few recitations too. Phenomenal professor. Truthfully the best at Pitt. You won't get anything lower than a B- I SWEAR, even if you do MINIMAL work, because her teaching style is phenomenal. However, she makes it SO hard to get an A in the class due to how easily you can lose points on exams, and there are so many fill in the blank and select all that apply questions.

She was a great teacher, taught super relevant topics and very cool case studies for the class - which was mainly pre-med. Her grading was difficult, and she was very strict with points. Her exams were overall easy and straight from the slides and lectures, but questions were made more difficult then they should be. Overall solid professor.

Biochem is hard no matter who you take, but Dr. M made it more bearable. Our class was flipped and her recorded lectures were clear and concise. She also provided ample practice problems in class that helped practice the material. This is a dense class so you will need to put in time to do well. Her exams can be long, but they are very fair.

Loved her as a biochem professor, she made me actually enjoy the class! Flipped lecture but it works really well since biochem is hard and its nice being able to pause lectures. McGreevy is honestly a pretty good professor but her tests are super hard. It's not the craziest content but the tests have a bunch of iffy questions that make you memorize super specific portions and niche content. I did enjoy her teaching style and thought there were many opportunities to succeed but by no means is this an easy class.

She's a good lecturer and records everything, but her exams are so detailed and specific, and she includes a lot of trick questions that have multiple interpretations. Maybe they exams wouldn't be so difficult but she doesn't give any practice before the exams, no practice questions or exams or anything, other than what the undergrad TAs give.

lovely professor lovely lady hard class tho and it's a tough grind tbh. it's biochem so its a lot of memorization but bc Mcgreevy makes her exams so they are not just memorization. her exams are so specific and detailed so make sure you study for these exams in advance tho like give yourself at least a week bc it's a lot

Dr. McGreevy is amazing. Biochemistry is NOT an easy class but she makes it simple and enjoyable. She uses the flipped lecture style (watch lectures at home and do problems in the classroom). She is extremely helpful if you have any questions and give great explanations/clarifications (the UTAs too)! You can drop an exam including the final!

6 total exams with one drop. Her exams are really specific with fill in the blank questions. She goes slow during class and the material isn't hard to learn. Some exams are much easier than others, however there are one or two really difficult ones. Used to be flipped classroom but now she teaches during lectures, I prefer this over flipped.

McGreevy is a great lecturer and TAs were awesome. I didn't feel like her tests were super fair some of the questions were SO specific. She was also picky about spelling and including units. Homework and review packet didn't really match test difficulty. She's probably the best micro teacher comparatively. I liked how there was no final.

Biochem is a tough grind, but Mcgreevy was fair and easy to follow. Dropping the lowest exam (including final!) was nice. UTAs were also super helpful. Biochem is going to be hard no matter who you have, but compared to my other friends with different biochem profs, Mcgreevy came out on top.

Dr. McGreevy is great at breaking down and explaining difficult topics. Most of your grade comes from six quizzes. I would recommend going back and rewatching the lectures as they are recorded and posted, and Dr. McGreevy does talk and move through the slides fast. The best professor for Bio 1! Her lectures were organized in a great way which makes it easier to learn and actually remember things. She lays an excellent foundation, and I feel very prepared for bio 2. Does 6 mid-sized quizzes throughout the semester and you get to drop one. Love this structure compared to the typical giant midterms and finals.

Probably my favorite professor ever. I loved going to lectures and I learned so much from her. Definitely study for the 6 quizzes throughout the semester as they are very application based (you get to drop 1). She runs her own recitations which are group Top Hat assignments and you get to drop 2. Sweetest professor ever and is so understanding!

Dr. McGreevy is a very good professor. She cares about her students understanding and personally attends the recitation to answer any questions. However, her quizzes are extremely difficult and the questions do not line up with what is presented through the homework and recitations.

I would recommend McGreevy to EVERYONE.She was one of the best teachers I've ever had.Definitely go to her study sessions. She explains material until you understand without getting frustrated or annoyed. She drops your lowest test score and provides extra credit. TAKE PROF MCGREEVY. All hw/rec work is similar/applicable to the tests. There are 6 tests overall but they're all short (25-30 Q's) and focus on 3-4 lectures. Plus, none are cumulative, you get one dropped test and HW and 2 dropped rec. Her lectures WERE AMAZING and I truly feel like I have a great understanding of bio 1. TH q's in class count!

Dr. McGreevy is probably the best biology teacher I have ever had! The class is challenging but she is very understanding and fair. It is possible to get a good grade in the course if you study and work hard on graded non-exam assignments.

Honestly a hard class, but an AMAZING teacher. She gives you so many resources and makes sure you understand the material. Go to recitations they help a lot. She also records all her lectures so you can always go back and rewatch. She gives a very strong foundation to move on to Bio 2. Take her!!!

SHE IS AWESOME. if i could take her for every bio class, i would. Her exams are application based so that can be the only challenging part but her grading scale is beautiful. 6 quizzes thoughout all out of 30 points but there are bonus points. You also get to drop one of the quizzes.

McGreevy is super nice and caring. She does practice questions during class, which help with understanding the material. Her tests were hard, but not unreasonable. Everything on the test was taught in class. I had a difficult time because there are so many details to remember, but she was a good professor. There are 4 exams and you drop 1.

Dr. McGreevy explains concepts thoroughly and her lectures are engaging. She gives you lots of resources to reinforce concepts like practice problems and homework. I really liked the format of her class and she was extremely organized. 4 exams w/ 1 drop, 9 HWs, and TopHat participation. She is extremely kind, accessible, and wants you to succeed.

Dr. McGreevy is an amazing professor! Took her for bio 1 and biochem. She teaches biochem in a flipped manner, but gives a lot of practice! I was able to study for the MCAT biochem section so fast because of the strong foundation from her class. You can drop 1/5 exams + no cumulative final. You can drop the 5th exam during finals week. Take her!!

if dr. mcgreevy has no fans i am dead. she is such an amazing professor. exams were pretty straightforward, and as long as you take notes on her lectures, go to recitation/do the worksheets, you are pretty much guaranteed an A. highly highly recommend for bio 1.

Prof McGreevy has got to be one of the best Bio teachers I've had. She is confident in her teaching ability and knows the content very well. Her teaching style is also very easy to follow and she makes her lectures very clear and understandable. It is not an easy class but she makes it much easier to understand the content.

Dr. McGreevy was a good professor and very knowledgeable about the content. However, I am not great at the sciences and this course was extremely difficult for me. If you could avoid this as a gen ed, I would. The lecture also could be very boring.

I LOVE MCGREEVY. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her analogies in class are amazing and the way she teaches it is so easy to understand and follow and that information sticks. The exams are genuinely easy (minus the tables), and I studied for about an hour for each exam and never went below an A-.

McGreevy is an amazing professor - she makes the topics easier to understand, and it's clear how much she cares. I found her exams to be extremely difficult, and struggled with the application part of them. Other than that, she is an incredibly smart woman and super nice.

She was absolutely amazing! Sometimes the material was tricky, but she was very through in her lectures and provided lots of practice! Her recitations were actually very helpful, and exams were fair. We got to drop 1, which was a bonus. She made learning biology fun and simple - although you still need to put effort in. Strongly recommend!!

Amazing prof. drops 1 exam, has a couple extra credit opportunities. homework and recitation gives you plenty of practice material for exams. She does give in class questions that location track so you need to go to class. Overall very good and has reasonable expectations for bio 1.

This is THE BEST bio professor I have ever had! If you get the opportunity, TAKE HER!! She gives 5 tests, but only grades 4 of them (the lowest grade can be dropped) which means you don't need to take the final if you do really well. She was super organized and always gave so SO many resources. She makes class fun!!

There are 5 exams but only 4 count toward your final grade, TopHat homework problems, recitation problems, and in-class problems for attendance. As long as you study the exams are pretty straightforward. If you need help go to study sessions throughout the week!

Tbh I wish I took this class as a freshman because Erica does a great job providing resources and support to new students. Her exams are difficult, but she drops one and gives extra credit. Homework is tedious but going to study sessions for help makes a big difference. Overall, your grade will reflect the amount of effort you put in to the class

TAKE HER! The best bio 1 prof by far, especially from what I've heard from friends in other classes. She clearly cares a lot about her students and puts so much thought into designing her lectures, which are very engaging. Tests are very easy if you review the presentations, review guides, and old assignments.

Dr. McGreevy is the BEST bio 1 prof by FAR. I got off to a rough start (C+) but started attending her weekly study sessions and did SO much better in her class (A). Her TAs are amazing, and she leads recitations herself. Exams are tough but fair if you really study hard. All exam content is in the lecture recordings and slides. Attendance required!

TAKE THIS CLASS! Content is hard but she teaches in a way that makes it understandable as long as you put in a little effort. Her office hours are great, lectures are very well put together, and recitations really helped me understand lecture content better. She is also a really cool person if you get the chance to talk to her after class!

McGreevy was organized and kept lectures entertaining and very helpful. Only had a couple homework assignments and 5 tests. The final wasn't cumulative and was just the 5th test, and you could drop a test including the final. Recitation was super helpful and she had lots of materials to study with.

You will never get a better professor than Erica McGreevy. Her classes require you to study a lot but you will genuinely learn and enjoy biology. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!

McGreevy is definitely the best Bio 1 professor you can take. I had so many friends in other Bio 1 classes who were struggling and I was so grateful to have such a caring professor. She truly wants her students so succeed, and it is very possible to do well in her course. She offers extra credit points for participating in research surveys.

Dr.McGreevy's class requires good time management and studying. Even though I found her to be relatively difficult, you will leave that class with knowledge that will be extremely helpful in future classes. Dr. McGreevy is 100% the best BIOSC 0150 professor. She's very lecture-heavy, but as long as you show up to the lectures, take good notes, and do the practice questions on TopHat, you'll be all set for the exams. Out of the 5 exams, you're offered one drop which is nice. I wasn't the best at bio in high school, but her class helped me change that!

Such a good bio 1 professor. Although there are a lot an exams, if you put in the effort by doing the homework and going to lecture you will be well prepared. Her and the TAs are very accessible for help and her lectures are very clear.

She clearly cares so much about her students and genuinely wants them to learn. Always willing to answer questions. She's so smart and really good at explaining things too. 10/10 would recommend. I loved her lectures and learned so much!

Dr. McGreevy is great!! Super organized and is a great lecturer. She goes really slow and is clearly passionate about microbio, so it makes learning rlly fun. The exams are definitely more difficult than the homework, but just try to use all the practice problems she gives you. Tophat HW almost every week and uses tophat for lecture attendance.

Would recommend her to anyone for biochem. Her class is flipped but I enjoyed it. Lectures were clear and the videos were great to go back and watch. She is so awesome. Tests and expectations are clear. No cumulative final.

Dr. McGreevy was a good professor. This class was definitely difficult but that should be the case with any Microbiology class. The final is a lot easier though and she drops one exam out of the four.

Super nice prof. Exams are a little tricky, but overall fair. Need to memorize a fair amount of details. Lectures are amazing. Optional cumulative final which can replace the lowest midterm. In-class tophats every lecture, 3 drops. 1 homework drop.

Dr. McGreevy was a great professor! Her exams were very straight forward, only things she's ever talked about. She doesn't try to trick you on exams. You do need to average about a 91 on the first 3 midterms to end with an A but its doable. Highly recommend!

Dr. McGreevy is an amazing professor. If you are looking for a professor for Microbiology, this is the one! She made the lectures so interesting and you can drop the final. The material can be challenging and her exam questions are heavy application based, but she teaches to the way she will test.

She is so amazing and caring, her recorded lectures help me so much when I go back home to study. It's very clear she wants all her students to succeed! As long as you do your part and put in the effort, exams are very straightforward and exactly what we learn in class, just application based.

She is Awesome, recorded lecture help a ton when you're stuck on something in class, in class top hats are good to go back too whenever studying for exams, make sure you go to class so you get those easy point! Homework is very straightforward and mirrors test a bit. If you study you will do great!

Dr. McGreevy is one of the best teachers I've had in my entire life. Not only is she so caring, but her way of explaining difficult subjects makes bio a much easier and manageable class. The practice she gives is very similar to her exams. I love her so much! She deserves tenure more than any other professor in the bio deparment.

TopHat used for an attendance grade but there is a lot of lenience. Makes the content interesting and easy to learn for a bio class. Exams don't have any information that was not discussed in class. Recitation problems were helpful. Extra credit for test reflections, drop lowest exam

She was a great professor. She puts all the info you need in lectures and very clearly outlines what will be on the exams. She is always walking around to help in recitation and her TAs are just as helpful. I would definitely take her again and recommend her to anyone taking Bio 1.

She has about 25 TAs so there are study sessions everyday, and she offers her own as well. Her recitations and in class questions reflect exam questions. You can tell she wants you to succeed.

I LOVE HER SO MUCH! When I wasn't doing as well in class as I wanted to, I went to talk to her and she was very nice about it. As long as your study methods are good you will do well on the tests. She also posts her recorded lectures and posts them on Canvas which I found very helpful. Tests will only include the subjects she mentioned in class.

PLEASE attend tutor sessions, they help so much!! Her exams are very fair, but you have to put in the work and study at least a week before.

Dr. McGreevy is genuinely one of the best educators I've ever learned from. She is passionate about what she teaches, her lectures are clear and interesting, she connects what we're learning to relevant current events and famous news events, and she truly cares for her students.
