He is by far the best professor I have ever had. He is very knowledgeable, clear, and very helpful. I highly recommend him.
try your hardest to tske him. Such a good teacher!
Lectures are clear, quick, interesting, and useful. Tests were fair with no surprises. He's a great guy who makes himself available and really wants his students to learn!
Such a great guy and his class was so interesting, not boring at all. Fair grader and lectures were easy to follow
by far best teacher in the world, knows his stuff. Midterm and a final. One paper and really fun in class activities. He gives you all the notes to fill in blanks. HES HOT ! IF YOU CAN TAKE HIM HE IS AWESOME !!!! this was my favorite class never missed it
He is an amazing teacher. Plus, you have various opportunities to earn points in his class. He makes the class fun and interesting. He is definitely an asset to DePaul.
Best teacher in the world!!! he should teach more classes! take him he is really really good, if you do what u r supposed to you will get and A! TAKE HIM HE IS AWESOME, SHOULD BE PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR!
I took the class during intersession. We had quizes every day and a project. However, the exam is nothink hard. He knows how students are feeling and tells great examples.
Great Professor and Great Class!
The Prof. is very easy and wants everyone to pass his class. Lecture notes given, easy MT and Final! Really nice and really cute! Easy going and grades very fair. If you miss out on taking him, you really miss out on an awesome class!
Great Professor...very very clear and fair in expectations for the class. I'd recommend everyone to take him...he definitely knows his stuff.
Hell of a nice guy! Easy to follow! Class is boring at times... but very good professor!
best teacher at depaul. very interesting lectures and tests are fair. he relates so well to his students, which makes it easy to retain what he is teaching
Dr. Dierdorff is a very nice guy who genuinely wants the students to do well and understand the points he feels are important to the class. I highly recommend him and his classes.
Awesome teacher, one of the best. Class is not hard and he does make it fun. All you have to do is study the notes (fill in the blank). Plus you actually learn from it, not a waste of time like most classes. He is really understanding and wants everyone to do well. Take him if you can!
Wish I would have known about him for the lower level classes he teaches. Great teacher, time flies in his class, interesting and not at all boring.
Excellent teacher with great class material and stories to compliment. Highly recommended!
Best professor that I have ever taken. Very down to earth and so hilarious that it's almost impossible not to pay attention. Highly recommend.
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER TAKEN!!! This guy is amazing. Not only is he in tough with his students, he wants everybody to succeed and do well. He relates stuff we learn in class to the real world. His tests are not hard, just study them. U MUST TAKE HIM!!!
Great teacher, very organized and helpful. It's a fun class. Fair grading and exams.
Definately one of the best teachers in the MBA program. Cares about the students and works hard to deliver excellent curriculum. Too bad all of the professors in the graduate school are not more like Prof. Dierdorff.
He is a great proff. Makes 3 hours go by fast. He is very interesting and has beautiful blue eyes!. He is very smart and makes no mistake in letting his students know it. There is a big group project and 2 tests. Easy homework. Tests are hard, just study his lecture notes and you'll get a B. PIck a good group to work with because the project is lon
Made class fun, interesting material. Can be a little arrogant. Assignments were easy, and tests were reasonable but you definitely need to study a lot for them.
Excellent presentation style. Interesting, insightful, and really cares that you are getting something out of the class. I wish all teachers were this great.
Pretty interesting, but I would recommend that you do NOT take him on a Saturday course. He goes through the information way to fast and nothing gets absorbed. All you do is writting his notes down and not really listening to what he is saying. Hard test.
Makes class interesting by involving all the students. Good teaching manner and ideas.
Dr. Dierdorff clearly knows the subject matter. He keeps the class interesting and the material current. If you come to class, pay attention, take notes and do assignments, you will do fine.
Dr. Dierdorff is very conscious of how students learn and works to make the course connect with students' learning styles. He also supplies relevent real-world applications. The final was very fair. There were not trick questions, etc.
Very knowledgable professor. Clearly articluates the class lessons and uses examples to show why lessons are relavant to the real world. Tests are straight forward and based on the notes and handouts. I did not use the textbook after week 2 and would not recommend buying it. Class was enjoyable and I felt that the material was useful.
Really fair! If you do the work and study, you will get an A. Very interesting. Really smart prof too.
Brilliant professor that really care about the students' learning. Keeps the class interesting using various tools: video clips, e-lectures, sharing of experiences, etc. Highly recommended.
Dr. Dierdorff is a great professor. There is a decent amount of work for this class (textbook readings, articles, small assignments, two tests and two papers), but if you do the work, you'll get a good grade. He is an excellent lecturer, and is very smart and knowledgeable.
Prof. Dierdorff's teaching methods helped make a Saturday class interesting and challenging. It's a lot of work, but you learn a lot of useful information about HR was as before if you work in Corporate America, HR sometimes gets a bad wrap. Dr. Dierdorff will tell you it's not valid to say this, but he is HOT!!!
Great teacher.
Is funny, keeps class interesting by using clips, videos and real world examples. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher.
Dr. Dierdorff uses a lot of different techniques (e.g., video clips, exercises, lecture, personal anecdotes, etc.) in his teaching, which makes the material much easier to learn and enjoy. Highly recommended! He's a fair grader, and genuinely wants his students to succeed.
Awesome Professor, a mix between Morgan Spurlock and Bill Maher! Lectures are very interesting and are full of business related material. His exams are fair, study your notes. Plus he likes to read his ratings in class! Highly Recommend.
The condensed class is the way to go if you can. He managed to keep my attention during the 7 hours of teaching which is a true skill. He understands that most students are not going to be HR professionals and ensures that you understand the basics. His still is laid back, very helpful. dont need the text much but have to attend class.
The best professor I've had at DePaul. This professor truly cares about students' learning. Makes the class interesting by sharing experiences and stories. Highly recommended.
He is one of the best professors at DePaul! You know what is expected from you right from the beginning. His lectures are very interesting! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Friday / Saturday session was a great choice. Take him!
I highly recommend Dr. Dierdorff's MGT 555: It's fun, informative and relevant, moving quickly, but efficiently. Diversified format is engaging. Dr. Dierdorff is organized, knowledgeable, responsive and very helpful; obviously interested in his subject. Oh, and handsome -- give this man some chili peppers!
This class is pretty easy. There are a couple assignments but he is an easy grader. The tests are straight out off the reviews the week before. The book overlapse the class enough so you can either go to class or read the book. I found going to class a little easier.
Very good teacher, and a really easy class if you take it in a shortened session. He's enthusiastic & merry.
Always interesting, very clear, and he can adjust his teaching style at the drop of a hat based on the class. Great way to start your degree!
Dierdorff is an excellent professor. Does a great job of keeping the class engaged and teaches material that is relevant for the real world. Highly recommended!
Good professor - very clear, and thorough. However, often times tries "too hard" to be funny. Also, has somewhat and overinflated ego - but I guess if you do not think you're great, no one will.
One of the best classes I had at DePaul so far. Class is fun and useful at the same time. I didn't get bored for a second during Dr. Dierdorff's lectures. Assignments are pretty easy, no surprises on the test. Great choice!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Hands down the best professor I've taken at DePaul. Dr. D knows his subject matter, comes well prepared, engages students, is quick to help and very fair. He is a diamond in the rough and I was impressed by his lectures. You will learn in this class, and not because it's "easy", but because he makes you want to learn. Awesome!
Dr. D. is a great professor. He keeps his classes lively with humor and electronic voting exercises. He teaches the important concepts and doesn't get lost in the details. Never got bored in his class. I wish it went on longer. His personality and demeanor are unique among professors. Final was straight-forward and easy. Highly recommended.
I would certainly agree with the other comments. Dr. Dierdorff made the full day lectures very entertaining. He is an amazing speaker and delivers the lectures very clearly to the entire class. I definitely learned a lot of KSAs in this class. Homework, paper and final were easy!
Fantastic professor! His lectures are clear, concise and relevant to today's business world. There are a lot of good takeaways from this class. The class was a little easy, but I still learned a lot -- so, seems like a win-win, eh? My only regret is that I took the class in a shortened period -- probably could have learned a lot more otherwise!
great teacher. i just wish he also taught finance.
Dr Dierdorff is hands down the best TEACHER I have had including undergrad. He gauged class comprehension via iClicker (use should be mandatory school-wide), so we spent more time on subjects needing more attention. The guy knows what he's talking about & his resume proves it. He cares that students learn & does not talk down to them. 12/08 course
Dr. Dierdorff was his usual entertaining self. He's a great lecturer and delivers information in an interesting way. Good course content. I-clicker usage keeps things lively. Class included a large group project (w/presentation) and final. Excellent professor and a good class. Very highly recommended.
Take Dierdorff. He's an awesome professor (and he knows it, but that's ok). Classes are highly entertaining but you still learn a lot. Keeps you engaged. I-clickers are fun. Hey Dr. D, lay off the school a little.. you're going to jade us. haha
Great class!Great professor. Delivers the lectures in a short, engaging and easy to follow manner.Follows students' progress every class through i-clicker and short Qs and adjusts and develops better methods of teaching in relation to students' needs and understanding.I highly recommend him Very helpful, pleasant.Best looking/dressed Prof. in DPU!!!
Dr. D, is the best professor at DePaul, period. In the many classes I have taken at DePaul, I think only his classes were structured and had clarity. He not only has a fantastic breadth and depth of knowledge, but his ability to transfer knowledge to students is amazing. Great professor and a good person. Great going Dr. D.
Good prof. Tough grader, but I suppose he's fair. He may take HR a little too seriously, but that's okay. Just float his ego a bit and youll get a long way in his class...
Dr. Dierdorff is a great prof who is constantly trying to improve his teaching. (And it shows.) He provides statistical analyst on all of his topics to support his opinions and is crystal clear about his assignments. Not an easy A but certainly a fair teacher. I would highly recommend him for any class.
Went into this class expecting a good, smart professor and that is what I got. Dr. D is sharp, entertaining and knows his stuff. I really enjoyed his class. I did not understand all the hoopla about him being "hot" at first. But after ahile he seriously grew on me... He has a lot of charisma and charm. Take him and you won't regret it!
Excellent professor, highly recommended. He's a brilliant professor who knows how to teach his material. One of DePaul's greatest assets.
For what I consider a boring class, he did an amazing job. Very thorough, and keeps the class interesting. Would not take any other professionl for 555 from what I have heard from other students.
Very clear prof. He lectures quite a bit, but does ask the students questions to keep them involved during the class. Impressive professional history and has lots of real-world examples. Tests are easy if you read his lecture powerpoints. Highly recommended.
Best professor ever. I have taken both MGT 555 and MGT 525 and I wish he had more classes to take him again. His class is strongly based on studies and evidence-based management. Book is important but not essential. He is very knowledgeable and an amazing instructor. If you study his notes and follow his instructions you will be fine.
Best professor that I've ever had at DePaul! It is very clear that he knows the subject material quite well, and that he actually cares about his students' development. I've learned a lot in the course - I think a lot of other professors have a lot to learn from him.
Took this class in a compressed format, 6 hours of lecture on Saturdays. Dr Dierdorff kept the class lively and interesting and kept me engaged throughout. His use of clickers, examples, and humor make the class very enjoyable and promotes a learning environment. This is the professor to take for MGT555!
Dr. Dierdorff explained the material so clearly, and made the lectures so engaging, that I enjoyed going to class and learning the material. He clearly knows his stuff. Take his course for MGT 555!!
Great prof, easily top 2 I've had and I'm over half way through my MBA. If you want an A in the intersession format and you work full-time, get ready to put in a decent amount of time to study outside of class. Wish Dr. D taught other general MGT classes. Definitely recommended.
Excellent Professor. Plenty of work but he gives you the tools to do them well. He made the topic interesting and I took much away from the course. Projects are applicable and useful to real business.
This guy is awesome. Def. take him. Fair amount of work, lots of examples, and keeps the class very alive. Got some jokes too.
Good class with lots of work. 5 activities (small HW) and 2 paper to submit + 2 exams. The exams are kinda tricky . He will help you if you ask and he keeps this class interesting with stories, in class activates and videos. Take him for MGT 555.
One of the top classes you will take in the MBA program. He keeps the class going with real life examples ,personal experience and funny stories. He is clear on what is expected in his activities and papers. Every week you will learn a major topic in HR whether it is legal, recruitment, training. Overall very beneficial class take it with him
New format for 2 credit hours - a lot of useful information. Lectures relate to real life and examples help to keep the info. The style of delivery is monologue with fill in blanks. Re-enforces the material through short quiz. Material is presented clearly and with care. Take it with him.
Dr. D is a very easy going Professor who makes the material accessible and fun for students. He wants you to learn the material, and is passionate about what he does and wants people to understand the importance of it. I would love it if more managers took his class.
Excellent professor. One of the best I've had thus far in my graduate program. This is why I came back to DePaul as a double demon. I would take him again in a heart beat. Read the material, participate and do not leave paper to last minute.
Dr. D. is amazing and the best professor I ever had. Being in his class is the best choice you made. In delivering the lecture, Dr. D. always wants to involve all students and let everyone raise a question at any time during class. He creates a fun atmosphere. He cares a lot about International Student who struggle with English as a second language.
Dr. D is very knowledgeable in his field. Granted, he can come across very self-absorbed at times but once you get past that you really do learn a lot in his classes. His lectures are very straight forward and so are his open note exams. Keep your notes and review them and you'll be fine.
Dr. D is an outstanding professor - he made lectures interesting with real life examples and funny videos that reinforced the material. Added handouts with relevant evidence based on academic research, very useful in the workplace. Tough open book exam can be aced by studying notes and book. Friendly, cares about students and will help if asked.
One of my favorite professors at DePaul - very knowledgeable with great lectures. Would love to take again! His funny story about RateMyProfessor still sticks with me.
I wished my old manager took a course from him! He's very passionate and knowledgeable, there isn't a boring second in his classroom. You will definitely learn a lot throughout the course. He grades based on various requirements such as midterm, final, team work (which is a fun simulation), participation and so on. Give him a shot you won't regret!
Great prof, very engaging
Great teacher. I can take courses from him over and over...
Excellent at engaging the class. Heavily focused on research based material, so the relevance of the material is great. Extremely clear rubrics, assignments, and syllabus. No questions as to what he's looking for, what to study for, or how to approach this class with interest in getting an A. I highly suggest this professor, among the best.
One of the best teachers I have every had at the undergrad and grad level. Its not an easy class, he is just very good and getting everyone involved and interested. I took more away from the 2 classes I had with Dr D because of how interesting and relevant he made the material. If any of his classes are available, TAKE THEM!
He is the best. You might think you will do a lot of work when you see his syllabus but you will learn a lot about the topic and yourself with every assignment. Plus he is a good grader. I am willing to take any course he is offering...
Great Lectures, I really enjoyed his style of teaching.
Dr. D has created a class that provides actual work-applicable learning outcomes and is extremely engaging in his delivery. It is not hard to do well in this class, but more importantly staying engaged and active within the class will yield better dividends than trying to skate by.
Take his classes, it will be hard to find higher quality of teaching and advice Dr D is offering in his classes. Lots of eye-candy, mainly the professor and some of the slides. His research is pretty interesting, too.
One of the most knowledgeable and exemplary instructors I have come across, not only is he culturally relevant, but also possess the highest amounts of emotional intelligence. I was very fortunate to take two courses with him as I learned different management techniques that can be applied to real-work scenarios. His teachings are based on research
DR. D is friendly, caring and very kind. He is also very intelligent and extremely funny. He is a very good grader too. The questions in exams are mostly from the slides and his explanation. The only thing i didnt like was the capsimcore simulation. Took me ages to understand it and by the time i actually did, it was over. overall i rate him 100/10
Dr. Dierdorff was really great. He made what could've been a boring class, very interesting. This was my second class I took with him and I wish I could take more. Lectures flew by because our class was interactive and engaged. Pay attention in class, read the articles, and you'll ace it. I learned, enjoyed it, and it was a breeze. Recommend!
Dr. Dierdorff is intelligent/knowledgeable and it shows. I took him for a hybrid version of this course and he kept it interesting throughout. Im glad I took this type of course with him. I learned a lot of applicable information and how to plan out my career for success! I would absolutely take him for another course. Take him, the hype is real!
I learned so much in this class. I could see tangible improvements in my performance on the simulations we did from the beginning of the course to the end. I highly recommend him. He's engaging, funny, and really cares.
I highly recommend taking any course Dr. Dierdorff takes. He is highly respected for a reason. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches and did a great job keeping our online courses engaging. He's not a tough grader but you do have to put the work in this class to get a good grade.
A little full of himself, but WONDERFUL. Assigns readings before each class which are hefty but its grad school - ALL of them are worth it. I have every one still saved on my laptop. He is big on making data driven decisions and helping you really integrate that into your thinking which is wonderful. Two big papers. Start early and you'll be fine.
Good professor-Very fast in pace- Difficult to understand at times- Easiest grader - Needs hardwork- Get ready to study !
Professor Dierdorff runs a fast-paced class, but his engaging teaching style makes it worth the effort. Using Unstuck study and the free textbook helped me stay on top of the material.
One of the best. Engaging. You will need to do the readings to get the most out of the course (obviously)
