Online class.Never read the book, most answers are available in text index.Do discussion board posts for full credit.Individual assessment was a waste.Take time to go through it couple weeks before its due.The group project was vague.Posted he wants APA format, then gives example paper thats not APA, then marks off for not following APA guidelines
This class was not the easiest class the individual assign. was difficult and the group project was semi difficult. Overall I learned many things and thought he was very helpful. He was a very fair grader and he always gave feedback which is unusual in an online class. Would recommend. Do the work and you will do fine.
Dr. Aguilar did a great job for this class. The topics were relevant and applicable to the BAS Supervision & Mgmt program. His grading was fair and he always gave timely replies to questions. I would definitely recommend him to future students! FYI -this my first class in the program w/o a book. We had a lot of writing/online research.
Dr. Aguilar did a great job. The course topics were interesting. This is my first class in the supervision & mgmt class w/o a book, but we had good topics. It's a lot of online reading/rsch and writing, but he grades fair and replies to questions timely. I would recommend him for future students!
Tough grader. The course requires a lot of work. He does not provide feedback. If you email and ask for feedback you get an email back where he makes you feel stupid and talks down to you as if he was offended you aksed for feedback. I dropped a class for next semester to avoid taking him again.
Great Professor! Highly recommend. Lots of work, but if you do it and stay on track you will do fine. Tests are multiple choice...One group project, one personal project.
Professor Aguilar was one of the best online teachers I've ever had. His instructions are very clear, the grading is fair, and test aren't very difficult. He is also very quick to respond to emails, which is a rare quality for most professors given their workload. If you put in the effort you will get an "A". I will definitely be taking him again.
Dr. Erick is a great professor. He gave timely feedback and graded pretty quickly. The tests were the toughest I have taken at FSCJ, and I am a straight A student. I would definitely take his courses again.
Not very helpful and not very understanding as a professor.
Class was interesting, however, professor was very specific about what he wanted. Tests were almost impossible to pass and DQ's required longer responses. He is a professor that pushes his students and the work is worth it. If you're looking for an easy class, this isn't it. But, if you do the work and follow the specifications, you'll do great.
great professor and assignments were easy to understand.
Very corporative. If you have problem, let him know, so he will work with you. Test comes from the book. Make sure you do your discussion board and your assignment if you want to pass. He explains very well and interacts with the class very well. Try and you will see
Impressive academic background. Hybrid 8 wk class meet once a wk,4 Assignments ,3 Exams ,1 Team Project ,Class Discuss and Part, 16 DB peer responses, Write 1Letter of Recommend,1Resume,1Bus Letter, Answer 1Customer complain Letter.,Understands personal issues. Easy A Test via BB. 20 Yr US Navy Veteran
Class is pretty cut and dry. 1 discussion entry & 2 responses each week, 6 total quizzes, You have 2 projects neither of which are difficult, and the midtermfinal you have 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete. Which is plenty of time to find the answers in the book. Print out the quizzes each week! Many of the questions are them. Very Easy Class!
Loved this professor. Discussions worth participating in and moderate grader. I got an A without having to put forth an excessive amount of effort. Not an easy A but certainly not what Id call a difficult class.
Excellent professor, he is very encouraging
Just do you work and you will pass. "NO GROUP WORK"!!!! One long paper at the end. Rest of work is pretty easy. Easy A
This was my first online course and i was worried about it, but in the end it turned out great! His course is really simple, just follow the course calendar and you will do great! I would recommend this teacher
8-week O/L: easy enough A, but group projects are awful. I've had him for a couple classes now and they were all awful. Way too much work to coordinate with ppl that don't do their part and counts too much toward overall grade. (15-20%)
Great professor! I forgot about an assignment and turned it in unfinished and was graded fairly for what I did turn in. I would highly recommend.
First off, the guy knows what he is talking about and is excited to share that knowledge. He goes out of his way to ensure students understand the material. I don't understand why there are group projects in an online course. I've had him before. This time I got lucky and my group all did their share. Good professor. Weird methods. Will take again
Great online class. Every week he gave his office hours, in case you needed to talk to him. Fast at grading!
Very fast grader and leaves feedback on all assignments. Answers questions very quickly and is very helpful. Would definately take this professor again.
Fast grader. This class will be easy if you follow his guidelines and turn in all of your assignments. The test are pretty hard, so you should really know your material.
This is the sorriest excuse for a professor i have ever had. He is lazy, doesn't update his course info from year to year for instance he assigned us a paper to do from the wrong edition of the book we are currently using. Also runs papers thru turnitin which is impossible to pass especially with references. Will never recommend this professor!
The syllabus is very clear cut to understand, if you read the syllabus and follow the Calendar of Activities that is posted on BB, you'll pass. There's a group project, as well as 3 individual assignments students will do, 2 exams (Mid-term and Final), 8 discussion boards. Professor Aguilar gives great feedback, he will help if needed.
Like with most of the online courses, the formula is Discussion Q each week for class participation, Test each week based on the readings, shuffle in a few assignments and a group project (you will work with people in the real world) complete the week get your A, fall behind... well that's your fault.
Taking this 8wk class online now, almost over. 5 DB post, 4 exams, 2 individual assignments (short papers), and the dreaded group project. He responds/provides feedback to every DB post and assignment. Very quick to respond via e-mail and answered all mine the same day. Syllabus/grading criteria is very clear. Just read & turn in all work on time.
Professor Erick is a solid choice. Standard discussion boards and a few writing assignments. Fair grader and give good feed back. I will caution that to get a good grade on the group project be sure to frequently use the team discussion board even if your group chooses another method of communication.
Dr. Aguilar is a great teacher! Always gives feedback, responds to questions in timely manner, and a fair grader. The book was not used by me at all except the tests but could have probably done it without it. I've taken several classes with this professor and would highly recommend. Group projects are just that; you get some great groups sometimes
I have taken two classes with Dr Aguilar. I would definitely recommend him. Group projects in both classes - which I hate - but seems to be normal for these classes.
I have taken two classes with Dr Aguilar. I would definitely recommend him. Group projects in both classes - which I hate - but seems to be normal for these classes. He is really good about answering email and questions to the professor.
Definitely take this class! 2 research papers, discussion posts and article sharing. If you do the work he gives you full credit. NOT a picky grader. I got max points in this class. All the assignments are given in advance so you can work ahead. Plus this class is very interesting. You discuss various topics going on in society today.
Dr. Erick is a teacher that teaches. He is not spending time devising ways to give a lot of unnecessary homework or too little time to do the homework with timers. Honest feedback on my writings. He checks to see if you're working and he finds clever ways to stop the cheaters. He's a great teacher!
Very good professor except I remember writing about 10 pages a week. Even the discussions were a mandatory 1-2 page length. Even the responses were about 600 words. Technically being a geb4891 it is writing class. I will say my writing greatly improved particularly APA formatting made me learn something. If your expecting an easy A don't do this.
Think of English class but for business. If taken, you will have the pleasure of writing a lot! discussions are long and drawn out. pretty much you have to like writing long papers to succeed in this class. I would not recommend.
5 discussions (post + 2 posts), 4 exams (50 questions), 2 individual papers (4-5 pages + PP), Team Project I appreciate the work balance in this course. I feel that the professor gave us adequate time throughout the course to work on the project. The papers were also interesting.
Patient, kind, clear, communicative. Class work and weekly discussions. A little effort went a long way. Only objection was a very large 'team' for our group project, which hindered progress. Take him if you can.
So this class isn't bad. If you like writing this is the class for you. No quizzes, 7 discussion, 6 articles shares (where you write about your article and share it with the class), and 2 4-5 page papers. It isn't hard, but time consuming. If I HAD to I would take this prof. again.
A textbook is not required for this course. This course consists of weekly Discussions, weekly Article Sharing, a Research Paper, and a Reflection Paper. Pay attention to word number requirements in the Discussion assignments.
I've taken a few courses with Prof. Aguilar online. Do the work and you will get an A. He's a great instructor.
He is a great instructor, I have taken him a few times and enjoyed his classes.
He was a really great professor. There are 10 question quizzes, discussion boards every week, 2 individual research paper, and one group project. Don't wait time the last minute like my group did!!
Aguilar isn't tough! He expects your work to be correctly written in adult language. He teachers higher level education so you don't get credit for insufficient work . He always explains any points lost. His syllabus is clear and he cares! Those stating otherwise, maybe had teachers who didn't care if you learned & gave HS work in college.
I read a comment from a few months ago. I don't know how my course is so different. 9 quizzes, 40 questions each. Syllabus is all over the place with no step-by-step outline. I asked one question about the book and was told not to over think the course. On top of that, a class discussion was started and again, a vague answer with no real direction
Dr. Aguilar will help prepare you for a real life leadership role. You are required to be accountable for: deadlines, group dynamic scenarios (group projects) and attendance. If you are not organized and cannot self-manage your learning, please do not take this "UPPER LEVEL" class. Learned so much under his instruction. He is awesome!
Very unreasonable, in my email said he will give one grade and put a worse grade in the gradebook, Not only that he expects a lot from each person. He does not care about the students, but makes him self sound like he does.
Probaly one of the worst profesors I have taken, he does not care, has too much work for each person and makes you work for your grade. he would not even round a grade that is 0.1 point away from a higher grade.
Dr. Aguilar is such an amazing leader. He teaches with passion. He tries to keep his class interesting. Two hour long class, as long as you do the work and follow instructions, you will pass. I learned the most from Dr. Aguilar, he gives the best examples and great information. I took him while I was working on my AA and now BA.
This course and the work load are easy, but he gets easily offended. The extra credit he offers can't be done by the entire class. He wants to you attend events that occur during the work day. I have an A in his class so I do not need the extra credit but I am appalled by how he reacted to my question regarding extra credit.
This is the second class that I've taken with Dr. Aguilar, and will be taking more. For the rater on 4/9, Dr. Aguilar gives very clear instructions as to how to MEET extra credit expectations. Listening in class and reading blackboard announcement are fundamental. Just saying! I will be taking Dr. Aguilar again for more classes!
Great teacher! I love the engagement he has with his students. You will have your normal discussions, quizzes, paper, and no project. He is very responsive to emails as well. With any class you must put in the effort in order to get a good grade. I took this class online and it was not to overwhelming. I would take this professor again.
Dr. Aguilar is super cool. He gives great feedback. If you do the work you will pass. 2 individual projects, discussions, 1 team project, 3 exams and a few quizzes. Super easy and class participation is a must
I do not understand his bad reviews.. I took this professor during the summer and felt very little hassle in this class. He made sure to update weekly what was expected of you to do. Not only was he informative, he graded fair and that's what made me excel in this class. He also gives substantial feedback on any homework assignments.
Really enjoyed this course. There were DB, 2 papers, and 4 exams. Papers are lengthy and require less than 20% turnitin score, but doable. Great professor and will take a gain.
I took MAN3353 and GEB3213 this summer online for 7 weeks. Both courses were manageable. The reading load is intense because the 7 week course is condensing 15 weeks of work into 7 weeks. Prof. Aguilar was great with responding to emails and was always accessible via Skype or phone.
Amazing. Emailed back within the same day. Helped me whenever I needed it. Hes hear to help you succeed. Learned a lot in 7 weeks. Theres a lot of work but its college, so its expected. Finished with an A. Will take him in the future! Dont listen to negative comments. Just people trying to take short cuts!
Give quick response
Any opportunity I get to take a class with Dr. Aguilar, I take it! He is one of the best Business professors at FSCJ. I disagree with any negative reviews that the professor received on this site. His instructions are very clear and is a very fair grader! Also, do the work, follow rubric, and there is no reason to not get an A. Thank you prof!
Responds to emails within 48 hrs, but not full response. Syllabus and instructions are clear - follow and you will get an A. Make sure to post initial discussion by Wed/Thurs and responses on two other days. Everything is worth 100 pts, no matter the assign. Two APA papers and PPT, DBs each week, Quizzes on each chpt. Do work, easy A.
Avoid this professor for MAN 4900 like the PLAGUE! Not worth the headache!
This class is not so bad. The Professor is very clear on his instructions and what is required to pass. Professor always responds to any questions by all means necessary. Very cooperative and respectable professor. Would totally take again.
Dr Erick Aguilar was extremely unpleasant to work with this semester. He is extremely rude and will treat students disrespectfully if you run into any issue in his class. His due dates are also odd and he assigns work on Monday and expects it turned in online Tuesday or Wednesday instead of Sundays like most classes. I wouldnt Recommend him.
Guys. This is my third time taking Professor Aguilar. He is hands down in my top 3 favorite professors! Do your work, you'll get the grade you're looking for, it's not difficult work but it will help you learn what's necessary for your degree!
Dr. Erick! is an amazing professor and I am so thankful I took his course and I am looking forward to taking other courses with Dr. Erick. You won't be bogged own with unnecessary assignments. This professor wants you to succeed, he leads by example and really prepares you for the real world of business - take the course, thank me later.
Deserves a 5/5! He is an amazing professor. Provides feedback at every turn. Shows genuine interest in all topics and students. I'm taking him again next semester and I will every other chance I get!
Weekly discussion board and quizzes, no big deal, do the work get full points. One APA paper, gives great feedback, no issues. Major problem with his individual project, HUGE project that (as much as I hate group work) should have been a group project. TON of work, not sure how he expects one person to do it within weeks. Would not take again.
I definitely recommend Professor Aguilar for this class. The usual quizzes and discussion boards, with 2 big assignments. As long as you start the 2 big assignments a week to 10 days in advance, you will be fine. Do not wait until the last minute to do those.
Great Professor and very helpful in cooperating. Very driven to help his students in any needs. Definitely would take again.
I have taken at least two classes with professor Aguilar, and am about to take a third. He is very clear on what the expectations are and gives you all the resources you need. Do the work and it's an easy A.
Professor Aguilar was good. His grading criteria is clear. If you do the work and put in the effort you will get a good grade. Weekly discussions are due Thursdays with a minimum word count of 200 along with 2 responses that are at least 100 words long. There are two major papers and they're due thru TURNITIN! So be careful about plagiarism.
Erick required multiple books and didn't use most of them. He still to this day has not responded to emails from myself and other students. He doesn't give real feedback and his exams make no sense the way the questions are worded. I almost always recommend professors, but not this one.
He did not respond unless pressured by more than one student on Canvas. Outdated links that don't work, he will tell you to contact IT. IT will tell you its his problem. He built his program years ago and never updates it and hopes no one asks for help, or they will get tired of asking and disappear. And he pushes links that are firewalled.
This class is overall a standard load of quizzes and discussions, but there are two projects that require a lot of dedicated time. The second project almost felt like it should be a group project but as long as you follow the guidelines, pretty easy to get a good grade! Do the work and you'll get a high grade in class with ease.
Dr. Aguilar class is an easy A as long as you do the work. NO FINAL EXAM! He does respond quickly. There is a weekly quiz and two individual projects. The projects are research papers, and he provides the instruction for the papers and diagrams. If you do the work, you will pass with an A - BUT YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK. I would take him again.
Dr. Aguilar is a good professor. His grading criteria are clear, and he offers good feedback. I bought all of the books he required and did not use one of them, so save your money. The class was easy for the most part: individual Project, Portfolio Project, three exams, and six discussions. You'll need to do the work to pass.
Dr. Aguilar was a great professor and really dedicated his time to his students. Overall, his syllabus was clear and so was his grading criteria. There are two major assignments but the rest were quizzes and discussions. Definitely recommend him and hope to take him again in the future!
Great class and professor. Discussion posts (post 4 days before the due date), quizzes, final project, and individual assignment (essay). My grade reflects not completing the final assignment, I earned it. I would take this professor again! Allowed time to get in late assignments, just communicate with him.
Class was relatively easy as long as you do the readings! Weekly discussions, a few exams, and two papers. Very reasonable load for this class. Second time taking this professor and I enjoy the pace/workload of the class itself.
6 discussions paced weekly, 3 non-proctored exams, and 2 individual projects. Follow the rubrics and it's an easy A. Gives good feedback and does not grade harshly. I'd take a class from him again.
He sticks to his rubric. Turned in a project that was pretty important grade for me. Gave me an F on it bc it was only 4/6 pages. Wouldnt let me resubmit even though I submitted before the due date. All I can say is. Don't expect wiggle room. If I ever had to take him again, it wouldnt be for a seven week course. RIP to my GPA.
Dr. Aguilar is a great professor who provides valuable feedback. However, I found this class more challenging than his others. The course includes 1 individual assignment and 1 individual project, both of which require an APA paper. There are 4 exams, each consisting of 50 questions and 7 discussion posts. Start on the project as early as possible.
I loved this class. Professor Aguilar is an easy grader. Do the work and you'll pass the class. The only reason I received an B is because I forgot a few times to post my discussion on Wednesdays and I got a C on one of my tests.
Easy Grader. 7 week course. 8 quizzes (one attempt only) 6 Discussions- initial post must be submitted by Thursday or points are deducted. 1 individual assignment and 1 individual project. I forgot to respond and received a 50. Even with that, still passed class with a 94%. Accepts late work ONLY if the circumstances are extreme (I had a baby)
As long as you do the work, the professor is fair. Would take again.
This class was amazing- I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the course. However, he does enforce strict word count requirements, and will deduct points if you fail to meet the minimum. Overall, I highly recommend Professor Aguilar and his classes, as they provide valuable learning opportunities, even if the workload can be challenging at times.
Professor Aguilar class was fairly easy. We were expected to complete a discussion post each week and would get points deducted if the initial post was not submitted by Thursday night. There were 3 exams and two individual projects, one consisting of a 6 page research paper. I would take a course instructed by this professor again.
He seems to really care about his students and always provides personalized responses to discussion boards. I took 5x courses that semester and was a bit worried but his workload was perfect. About one discussion and one quiz a week. The final is a paper that you were allowed to start on very early. I would take his course again any day!
