Helps find extra credit points if you try your best on problems and attend class regularly. Provides great study guides for tests. Teaches at a great speed. You will pass, as long as you do the homework. Thank you.
If you are scared of stats I strongly strongly recommend this professor. He's a very patient and thorough teacher and makes you feel comfortable to ask any question no matter how obvious it may seem. He offers lots of opportunities for extra credit and encourages group work as well. Really enjoyed this class!
Everything is online, including homework. He teaches a bit differently than the way the online lab teaches so if you get lost doing homework, you're going to have to figure it out on your own. You'll spend a lot of time doing the homework without actually getting much out of it. Ask questions in class! He definitely will try to help
Hes a good professor, however, sometimes it is hard to understand him. Overall, Professor Pachas, is very lenient when it comes to homework and towards the end his gives groups quizzes, so you can get easy free points. Work and do your part as a student and do the online hw and success will be at your door.
He shows no mercy failing you if you dont apply yourself. Yes, Pachas, assigns a lot of homework on my math lab, but if you do the homework in advance and ask questions youre grade will reflect. Not for people who slack off!
Professor Pachas was great. He gave clear, easy to understand lecture packets in class for you to understand. His exams are doable can be similar to study guides pay attention and study. The final was exactly the same as review very beneficial! Totally recommend him even if he has a slight accent.
Professor Pachas is an excellent professor. He did an outstanding job teaching us and made sure we were all comfortable with asking questions throughout the lecture. 10/10 recommend
Professor Pachas is great. Provides worksheets and helps his students understand the material. He gives it his all. Allows you to use calculator. Read ahead and do HW asap to keep up. Fastrak Stats is a hard class, but if you do your part it can be done. He provides opportunities for extra credit and goes out of his way to help his students.
Professor Pachas is a great professor. I found the class to be difficult because Im not the best at math but I know that the professor was extremely open to helping whenever necessary. A lot of homework, dont slack off it can help you get a different grade if you do well.
Professor Pachas is extremely generous on grading when it comes to tests and I am terribly bad at math. I ended up passing with an A all you need to do is try your best to study and definitely do not skip doing your online homework.
One of the worst teachers I've had throughout all of my education. Yes, he is nice, but the material in the class is difficult. I came into this class having taken AP Calculus in high school, and I got a 3 on the AP exam. To put it simply, my high school knowledge is the only reason I was able to pass the class. Half my class dropped.
Professor pachas is nice hes kind ya but he is hard he doesnt even give a lot of extra credit like he says his class was not easy dont take stats with him you have to work your grade to earn it
I took stats during Winter 2020, because this was the last class I needed to transfer. This class is very difficult, he assigns a lot of homework daily. Which leaves you with only 2 or 3 days to study so that is not enough. He goes over a lot of material everyday, I would highly recommend not taking this professor unless math is your best subject.
Professor pachas is a eh not the best professor. Yes I got an A in the class but he is one of the worst professor Ive ever had. Lots of homework, quizzes, three exams and a final and in class work. Dont take him I took the math 11 class with it hit a confused me a bit.
If you struggle with math I recommend to not take this professor. He is really picky on grading he does not grade easy. On tests you have to show your work (everything) right sentences and conclusions its not English class it is a math class. I dont recommend this professor at all!!!!!!
Professor Pachas gas been one of my best professors. Learned so much in his class although is hard work, he makes it very interesting, I enjoyed his class. He cares about his students and really knows his stuff. Thank you for all your support when I was struggling at the beginning!
Great professor! I would definitely take him again. He is very helpful if you need more help, just don't wait until the last week of the semester because you have to put in the work.
I took him over the winter and I have to say it was great. I came into this class extremely nervous b/c I hadn't taken a math course in 3+ years and its not my strong suit. But he breaks everything down and he really wants to help everyone in his class. I don't think its fair to be upset about the workload b/c its college, your grade is earned.
Not the best math professor i had. gives tons of homework. Allow a cheat sheet for the test. just try your best his class is not easy especially in a six week class
took stats with the support class and that was not helpful at all it confused me more between the stats class and the support
professor pachas is ok not the best math professor i had better math professors in the past. make sure you show your work or else he deducts points off the test even if you make one little mistake he deducts points.
A learned a lot theses 6 weeks. Yes, it's fast pace as you can imagine, but he will help you as much as he can.
Took math 11 with math 110 with professor pachas it confused me it didnt help at all. It didnt help me it its confused more . I recommend to just take math 110 dont take it with math 11
Dont take this Profeesor! He is not clear and he is very unorganized.
Group work helps to do good on the tests. Good lectures.
His lectures have a lot examples and enongh to do well on the test. Homework is only 10% of the grade, but it helps anyways.
Prof Pachas will take the time to explain things very clear and help you when you need it. Highly recommend him.
There are no extra credit opportunities He really makes you earn the A but it feels amazing in the end. Most of the time I didn't pay attention in class because it too hard to stay focused because of the online classes so I had to teach myself using the Connect Math website. In the end, I had an 89.2 but he rounded it to a 90%.
This guy is THE worst professor I have ever had in my entire life. He should not even be considered a professor. He cannot teach at all. He would show an example of something and it would not make sense and he will not explain it correctly. If you ask to explain, he will confuse you even more. Gave 30 pages of hw due in 11 days. Avoid at all costs!
Please do not take this guy unless you want 30 pages worth of math homework filled with a bunch of useless questions. He really defines the saying quantity over quality. Like, all of the questions he assigns us is not related to the in-class notes because the notes are not even in the book. His teaching is awful, we don't even get to engage in clas
Please do not take this teacher unless you have taken calculus beforehand. He doesn't teach at all.
So much homework to do and doesn't even teach or explain it. He is a tough grader and takes off points for no reason at all. You have to do it all his way and if you don't you will fail. Does not help at all and you have to teach yourself. Do not ever take this person.
Do not take this class if you care about your grade. His class was really hard compared to others. I wish I went to this site beforehand to see the awful reviews on this awful teacher.
This class is tough but he makes clear by going over a lot of examples
Homework is doable if you keep up with it constantly. It's a 6 weeks class, so it is expected. Test are not that hard if you go over the notes. Clear lectures with a lot of examples.
I had this professor for 180 and math 181 and he was great. I was definitely ready for math 181 after I took 180. He gives you opportunity to make up some points, and explain his examples with a lot of details. I wish he was teaching Math 280 :(
Professor Pachas was an awesome professor! I really enjoyed his class, any time i was having a hard time I would ask questions and he explained in different ways to help you understand. Is a lot of work but if you do the work you will do fine. I learned so much in his class and definitely recommend this professor.
If math is difficult for you, you will not regret to take this professor. He very clear on his explanations and always willing to help you outside of class. He offers easy extra credit, and many opportunities to improve your grade.
Professor Pachas goes over a lot of examples and his explanation are clear. Some of the questions come from the homework and they are not the bad.
Very tough grader and does not teach very well. There is a lot of homework every week and it is very hard to keep up. His teaching is not clear and it is very confusing and I had to teach myself. Do not take this professor if you have other options.
I wouldn't have taken this class if I knew it was going to be like this.
Not a bad professor, he could be a little more descriptive with certain topics though. If you are having trouble he will take the time to give you the assistance needed. He teaches well, but he moves fast and his lectures are very boring, I'd rather read the textbook on my own which is what I mostly did. If you try, you can easily pass.
I guess some students are not realizing this is college level class and a 6-week class. Not ra really hard class!
Good professor! Because of him.. I will take other math classes. If you dont like math professor Pachas would make you understand it...
Professor Pachas pushed me to my limits, and thanks to him my concept about math its different. I already referred my friends that if they want to learn math Professor Pachas would be the right call.
His class make me change the perception of math.. now I will take other math classes because after taking his class math is not a problem anymore..
First time taking his class. I worked hard for my grade.. I learned a lot of new methods that made math easy, and yes I would take the next math class with professor Pachas.
Professor Pachas is very arrogant and has a nasty attitude to his students. I would never retake his class. His homework is not similar to what he teaches, and it is tough to understand when he explains, and he does not reply to your messages when you need help.
He gives you a lot of chances to pass the class when you tried you best.
Not a good teacher and the things taught are nothing like the homework or tests
Doable exams and offers extra credit to make up missing points
I took this class for the second time and it was so much easier since He give the chance to make up points
someone is deleting the bad reviews. and I think hes writing his own reviews or someone else is.
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a professor. He seldom responds to messages outside of class. If you catch COVID and miss a few days of class, good luck trying to catch up! He only provides the notes (IF THAT)! I've had to teach myself everything I know about calculus because he's terrible at explaining things. Nice guy, bad teacher
You can tell he loves math and he explains things throughly. He answers questions without making you feel dumb, so just ask him for help when you're confused and you'll be fine. I had to study a lot for tests and quizzes because they're long and he is a tough grader. Overall, I am glad I had him for math.
Great professor. Wants his students to Succeed. Caring & very patient. Easy to approach. Take him, if you are intimidated by math, you won't regret it.
he will work with you until the end!
I would not recommend this professor to anyone. Teaches strictly off worksheets and the homework is completely different than in class work. I had to reteach myself each section in order to barely pass the class.
Erik is an amazing human being, but Ill be the first to say he should find another job not involved with mathematics. I have always struggled with math but I soon clawed my way out that hole and can say Im very skilled. I took his pre calc class and it was awful. His class when from 30+ students to just 8 by the end. I would never recommend.
He does give a lot of homework; however, it is easy to complete the homework and receive good grades on the tests if you study. You complete hefty hand-written notes for the entire lecture that are fast-paced. All in all, difficult content but great professor.
Helps find extra credit points if you try your best on problems and attend class regularly. Teaches at a great speed. You will pass, as long as you do the homework. Thank you.
Practice exams similar to exams so study them!
This is the best experience I've ever had with a professor. He only provides the notes if you miss class know he's great at explaining things. Great teacher!
Very detailed lectures notes and this professor makes you feel comfortable in the class
Great lectures and detailed explanations :)
He's a nice teacher but just not a great teacher. Goes strictly off worksheets from the textbook and doesn't teach with examples, rather with the actual theory so it's like learning a different language without the use of your own language to help. I wish he was a better teacher because he is very nice but I would never take his math again.
All I am going to say is that the class started with over 30 people and now with only 2 more weeks left in school, there are maybe 6 or 7 people. No study guides, lectures are all worksheets, hw is different from lectures which differs from tests. Just don't, if he is your only option, wait till next semester.
Group work get you ready for the exams. He doesn't play around when it comes to cheating. Do not do it, he will catch you :)
Exams are easy if you do the homework and he is very flexible with the homework.
Statistics was fun and the notes clear and with a lot examples. Worksheets group work help you to prepare for the exams!!!
Outside of lectures, he's a great prof who gives many opportunities to boost your grade or help you. You kindahave to be patient though. It's hard to understand what he say most of the time. Also, work is tedious and he is rigid with solution. I would not recommend if you are having trouble with math before calc.
He joined the course midway, so I cut him a lot of slack. He kept the previous lenient syllabus. Only problems were he would provide the Study Guides for the upcoming Exams so late, like the weekend before, and sometimes not provide full solutions to these Guides. Lectures could be hit or miss, provides lecture packets to write notes for.
He isn't that bad at all. Jimmy paved the way. All he did was finish the last few weeks. Happy I passed!!
Lectures primarily based on packets. I would've preferred to learn more about the fundamentals of the section instead of copying problems and breezing through the concepts.
Find a different professor elsewhere.
His tests were very similar to the study guides. His grading criteria is very clear, and he grades tests very leniently. He is an awesome teacher after all! He also cares about you as a student.
Professor Pachas is surprisingly lenient when it comes to grades. I found myself constantly losing focus during his lectures and you will have to put in the work for this class (especially because I took this class over the summer). If you are capable to comfortably doing the practice problems he assigns, you should be golden for the exams.
Best Calculus 3 professor for summer he will focus on concepts that are important and would provide homework problems and a study guide to practice with although the hw was not graded the study guide did have an answer key. The final was the about half the grade, but it replaced the lowest exam, and exams make up 40% while home quizzes are the rest
Bittersweet!
For context, I took 280 in winter. Imo he is a good teacher, but the lectures were very theory-heavy and he had to rush a lot of content due to lack of time. Exams are very close to study guides and got more difficult with each one, with chapter 16 being a common struggle. Keep in mind you may have to relearn a lot bc it's easy to lose focus.
Poor ability to notify students of upcoming assignments, quizzes, and exams. Notified of a quiz 15 minutes before (despite formula sheet being needed). You'll learn far more from homework than You'll ever learn from the class itself. Don't waste your money on this class with this professor.
Lectures teach you nothing. Just look at youtube videos, and avoid paying for a course with this guy.
Just lectures the whole time, poorly. Ended up watchin youtube to learn anything. tests are worth a lot
Took Pachas for Math 110. Lectures were hard to follow and theory-heavy. Learned more from YouTube and homework than class. Communication about quizzes/assignments was poor. Exams follow study guides but get harder. He offers grade boosts, but be ready to teach yourself most of the material. Get out while you still can!!!
he is kindly professor, will consider the extra credicts . The lecture is heavy but most from textbook, if you do the quize , group section and homework completely, you would get the satisfied grade. He is very busy but if he has a time will help to slove the problem
This class was well structured and well taught. All you really need to do is show up and do the work he assigns. Pachas is very clear and straightforward on what types of problems are on the exam so you know what to expect. His lectures are example-heavy.
