super helpful, always willing to discuss papers. allows you to rewrite papers after graded for a new score. there's a good amount of reading but not bad. MAKE SURE TO READ!!!

Great Teacher! Highly Reccomended! She is so passionate about the material that she teaches. Is willing to help with anything involved with the class! I hate thinking outside the box and she really made me like it.

She is a fun teacher who evokes the most strange of discussions... not a bad thing. Her class was a break from the terrible norm.

Erika is really cool. She makes herself accessible for students. She is available for questions about class or other topics. She cares for students that show that they care about thier grade. There is some busy work, but assigned with plenty of time. I would take her again.

I would take her class again- make sure you are prepared with your reading.

The Counterculture theme made for a more interesting english class than usual. Awesome class!

Great teacher. She was a lot of fun and extremely helpful. If you are a social person you will have fun with her, and even if you are not social you will have fun.

Erika has got to be one of the best english teachers i've ever had! She is extremely helpful and she doesn't concentrate on just one specific person at a time. Her lessons and lectures are fun to take part of and the homework is pretty easy. Learned a lot this semester and i hope to see Erika in 102 since she doesn't teach 101. Highly Recommended!

Erika is a doll. You'll be writing a lot, but she provides topics you can get interested in. Ours was the first class using "Journeys and Transformations." Erika is super helpful, and you can tell she genuinely LOVES what she does. I highly recommend taking her class, if you don't mind being graded hard and honest feedback. And yes, shes also hot

She is awesome. No text book just reading books used and texts. Almost no HW except for opinions on texts we read. One paper that was about 5 pgs. A great, upbeat, funny,and helpful teacher

Professor Bein will challenge your writing capabilities. Staying current on your writing assignments will only benefit your progress. Firm but fair in her grading. She allows re-writes except on the final. Take advantage of what she has to offer you to achieve a good grade. Her theme of "Journeys and Transformations" kept our class intrigued.

Erika is an amazing teacher! She take English 102 and turns it into a self exploration just as much as a class where you learn the fundamentals of writing. Her class is thought provoking and she challenge the way you think. For a required class I've never had a better professor. She has a great sense of humor and makes you want to show up to class.

Erika is a cool English teacher. She's not a harsh grader, and will allow you to edit writing assignments for a better grade. The texts used in class are rather easy. Do the writing and you will be fine. She's very helpful and has fun personality.

I adore Erika Bein. She is probably one of the best teachers I have had in a long time. She is laid back and if something in your schedule comes up she will totally work with you. She gives great feedback and offers EC opportunities for scheduling meetings with her. Not to mention that the readings are amazing! Fairy tales, and comic books um yes.

Awesome teacher! If you ever wonder how much a passionate teacher compares to one that just clocks in and does the usual take a class with Erika. Really knows her stuff, but isn't afraid to admit when she is unsure about something. Plus, for reading texts that can often me a few centuries old she is really good at finding relevance. Hot too!

I am not an English fan, however, Professor Erika Bein made my ENG 102 course enjoyable despite my reservations. She has a lot of assignments but they have clear instructions and if you attend class she gives you plenty of opportunity to ask her questions about any assignment for clarity purposes. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

You read a lot and some of the readings are tough. If you don't read your papers won't be as good. Class is mostly what we read which gets boring or gets interesting. She gives extra credit if you go to the writing center. She gave a couple of other extra credits. She lets you revise your paper for a better score. Erika is extremely chill!

Erika Bein is a fantastic English teacher. Although I don't read much, she makes the class very easy and helpful. She always responds to emails, questions, etc and makes sure you know the material. I took the "Journeys and Transformations" part of the class and it was great. Her assignments are easy and short. I recommend taking this course.

Erika is an amazing teacher and has totally changed how I view literature & read it. There's a lot of reading involved, but she doesn't overload you with tons of writing assignments & cares more how you write & analyze the material. So be ready you have to think, analyze & write well and she will definitely strengthen your writing skills! TAKE HER!

I absolutely love Erika! She is wicked smart! I sometimes feels there is nothing she doesn't know. Not only will you learn a lot, but Erika will challenge you to think for yourself. As a literature major, she has inspired me in so many ways; she has set an example that I want to follow for the rest of my career.

Had her for 101 and came back and she was even better the second time around. She tells you what to expect in class. Class is usually just discussions on topics of what we read. Very beneficial if you engage and pay attention to what she says in class. The class was very enjoyable. She is the teacher to have for both 101 and 102!

She is a good teacher, and her classes are interesting. I had a hard time with the papers, but she lets you rewrite them for a different grade. The papers always have a lot of feed back to go off of for rewrites, so you know where you need to improve.

She is great, willing to accept late work, and makes going to class enjoyable.

Erika is an awesome professor! This is the third course that I have taken with her and I wish i could take more. She really respects her students ideas and approaches and provides valuable feedback on all of the assignments. If you need help with anything from hw to advising she will help you. Overall, she is one of TMCC greatest professors.

Erika was the absolute best professor I have ever had, I took her English 102 class four years ago and still remember how amazing her class was. I also remember it being lots of work but definitely worth it!

I am a little late to writing a review for this instructor but honestly I had to say something about the class. It was the second time taking a course with her as the instructor. She has open office hours and has a funny personality about her that makes the class a lot more enjoyable. Plus you can always redo your essays for some extra credit.

Erika is awesome. The class is a decent amount of work, but it's not overwhelming if you stay on top of it. The lectures and discussions are informative and dynamic. She's a fair grader and really takes the time to read each essay. You can revise for a better grade too. Also really understanding when it comes to deadlines and workload.

Erika was a wonderful teacher and made class a really nice experience. Her policy on assignment dates was very helpful and the discusions were very helpful. I also found her policy for participation incredible. Sometimes topics in discusion would veer off track but she always has a way to bring it back full circle. I would definitely take her again

You're going to read. Quite a bit. But it is a wide array of material. This semester we had fairy tales, short stories. McCormac's The Road, and a comic book at the end. Be prepared to examine the texts closely, find deeper meanings. Class discussions frequently. She says "Your grade is in your hands." She's not wrong. Put in work, get a good grade

She's really awesome, I would definitely recommend her. She's very down to earth, and clearly enjoys teaching and loves her students. Super cool. Doesn't overwhelm you with too much hw. Her lectures are pretty straightforward.

Very fun and likable, she makes lectures interesting and makes you think really deep. Very little homework except reading every once and awhile and only 3 essays the whole course.

There are many amazing english professors and Bein is definately one of them. She counts participation as a grade, so showing up is definately important. Her class was mainly discussions to the reading. And there were no presentations which was great! Definately take this professor.

amazing lectures... I found myself very interested in every class discussion. She opens your mind and makes you think of things that you typically wouldn't. No quizzes & a few papers but she will let you edit them for a new grade! Super funny and understanding.

She is an amazing teacher, and the most important thing is that she makes you think about yourself and life in general. This is definitely not just a "English" class, this is more like a philosophy class. I took her for both ENG 101 and ENG 102, and both classes were great.

Erika is hands down my favorite Professor at TMCC so far. She reminds me why English was always my favorite subject in High School. Interesting lecturer, and enthusiastic about the material. There is quite a bit of work involved, but it is worth it. Definitely take this class and choose this Prof. :)

Erika doesn't hold back. She talks about any and everything in this class, the theme of which is "Love, Sex, and Death." I took her for ENG 101 as well and I feel I am a much better person for it. Very philosophical and makes the cogs in your brain turn constantly. If I could take this class again I would.

I took Erika for Eng 101 & 102. She is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her lectures are educational and relate to English, life, you name it! Erika is so understanding, provides great feedback, and allows you to write about what you want as long as it relates to the topic. Her views on books/passages are very eye opening! Easy A too!

Erika was one of my favorite teachers I have taken so far! I took her for Eng 101 and wouldve taken her again for 102 if it had gone with my schedule. 10/10 teacher, she gives super easy homework. Got an easy A in the class.

Love this professor. She is truly one of the best profs I've ever had and she has taught me so much. Coming to class is extremely fun and the lectures are helpful. There are lots of papers due, but she is quite an easy grader. She offers lots of help outside of class and is easy to reach. Would 100% recommend

She's an amazing professor, however, if you don't like drafting and aren't willing to read the sections, I don't recommend her classes. I got good grades in her class, but I don't think she liked my writing style very much. Other than that, she's an amazing professor, but believe me when I say that there's a lot of reading.

As a student of her English 101 class, I really enjoyed having her class. She is a thoughtful, engaging and intellectual person. She cares about the material she teaches us, and heavily encourages class participation. She teaches to you and gets you thinking about topics by asking for our opinions and creates class discussion. Highly recommend.

Erika is a great teacher. Super passionate about her coursework. Very engaging and communicative. She cares about her students. Her class was the only one I actually wanted to go to this semester. Her class is engaging, she works with you, and the coursework is very manageable. Lots of questions asked in class, and feedback is always welcome
