I'm not sure if math was her first choice in teaching, but for this class she works. She explains things for you and will work one on one with you if ya need it. She also tends to let ya out a bit early. I'm taking her again for MAT0024 next semester

A very sweet teacher. Is willing to help you in any possible way. She always walked around to see how you were doing on the practice problems. When the class took a quiz and we all failed, she moved the test back so we could study more.Very caring teacher, I HIGHLY recommend her!

Erika is an absolute gem!! This was my 2nd time taking this course and she made it very clear and was always consistent in her teaching style. I was not afraid to come to math anymore after spending a semester with her. I wish she taught 1033!!!!

She is soo great! Teaches the subject well...very understanding! Workload is average, but not too much... Posts the section reviews online..very handy! but you still have to attend class for daily classes, it helps your grade!

Easy work, detailed reviews, helps you on tests, and you're always welcome to come to her office for help. VERY, very sweet lady and an AWESOME math professor. Not sure what the person below me is talking about - Ms. Blanken has a VERY lenient grading scale, curves stuff like crazy, rounds up, offers a TON of extra credit. It's pretty hard not to make an A in her class, no matter how bad at math you are. She's SO sweet and helpful, and she keeps in mind your effort come grade-submission day.

Great teacher. Took her for 6 week class. Gives you plenty of good info. Drops 1 test and some quizzes. Also posts all class notes online which is helpful if you miss a class. She is technology friendly!

Ms. Blanken is one of the best professors I have ever had. The hmwk from the book isn't mandatory - I didn't buy the book and I have done well. The project is mandatory but if you visit her office hours she tells you everything and checks your answers. You would be a fool not to take this incredible teacher! Very flexible with make-up tests!! GREAT

Ms Blanken is the best teacher I have thus far. She goes above and behind. However the students who are saying not nice things, did they ever go to her, probably not! She is as fair as they come! Every math class, she will be my teacher if i can help it! Shes GREAT!!

I have never met a person who is so caring and helpful like Ms. Blanken. She is very professional and she goes above and beyond; meaning she will rearrange her schedule if you needed help with something. Ms. Blanken will explain the problems in a different way if someone is not understanding it. In turn you have to put the effort in also.

Mrs. Blanken was an awesome Teacher! It was her first time teaching statistics and I ended up with an A in the class. If Algebra is not your thing, go with stat. You do need to do the HW to get an A or B because her tests are mainly from HW. Highly recommend her!

Ms. Blanken is, by far, one of the best math professors DSC has! She is very soft spoken and kind. She wants her students to pass and is more than willing to help. Erika Blanken is a great teacher. I took 6 week courses, and while the material is covered very quickly the professor is willing to work with the class to make sure everyone is caught up. Homework is not required but is offered as extra credit for tests. I highly recommend doing it. If you complete the homework and study, you will pass the class.

Blanken is very good at what she does and has a passion for it. She teaches a bit fast and with some engineering vocabulary but you'll catch on. When you need help she will help you and she is widely available out of class for help. Also, she does what she can to help make sure you pass the class

Ms. Blanken is the best! If you've taken her class and failed, it's because you're not trying or you've missed too many classes. I took this class with another instructor before her and failed miserably and now I'm passing her class with an A! She's clear and concise and she doesn't make you feel stupid when asking questions! I have never liked math until Ms. Blanken. She is such an amazing teacher who cares about whether or not you pass- as long as you do. I have never liked math- I have always thought it was so confusing, but Mrs. Blanken makes it very easy. She honestly cares about her students and she really wants you to pass. She gives so many opportunities for extra credit towards test grades so failing really isn't an option. I am actually taking her next semester for MGF2106 and I'm excited!

Ms Blanken truly cares about the success of her students. I took her for college algebra and trig. She offers extra credit and teaches exactly what you need to pass. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you are sure to do well in the class. One of the best teachers I've had in college.

I didn't have much contact with Ms. Blanket but she was really chill when my computer stopped working and stuff. The program she uses for all the homework was a little hard to figure out. I could have done better in this class, but I also could have done worse I guess. Word of advice, do not do a math class online!

She is the best you can get. I struggled with math heavily as a child and even now and she is the only professor who has ever made time to actually teach the material. She's always available for you to see her whenever you need help. She also volunteers for tutoring on Fridays in ASC. I will be taking her again for college algebra and trig.

Her lectures are very good and she provides all the learning you will need to pass. The homework she gives is optional and rewarded as extra credit. I recommend doing it because it fully prepares your for each test. I recommend taking her course.

Shes very nice and knows what shes talking about. The class is very fast pace, you knock out 3 lessons per class. There is homework but its all optional and you get extra credit for doing it. If you havent taken algebra 2 than I wont recommend taking it.

Ms Blanken is the BEST teacher for people who may not do well in math. She has virtual office hours 3 days out of the week for several hours at a time that really helped me. JOIN THE VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS. They helped me TREMENDOUSLY. You wont regret taking her class. Best Math Teacher EVER! Cant join office hours then chat with academic support.

Ms. Blanken was the BEST math teacher I ever had. She explained things step by step on how to solve a problem. I took online STATS with her and its cool to say that STATS is the 2nd easiest math class for me. You will have lots of homework but email her and she will help you.

Ms. Blanken grades her students based off of Chapter review sheets, quizzes, and tests. So long as you pay attention in class and do your homework, which is optional for extra credit on your tests, you will be set. There are about 4-5 short online quizzes per chapter, and one review and test per chapter. She teaches clearly, but pay attention.

She is caring, sweet, and very patient to explain many times as you need it. She gives you extra credit for doing homework. You might have the opportunity to better your test grade with the bonus question. Clear lectures. Very respectful. Always on time to grade your work.

Blanken is a literal angel sent from heaven! She explains things so throughly and easy that even a toddler could understand math! She even allows for test make ups if you have a good reason for the absence during test day. If you struggle in math & want a prof who cares about your success & understanding of the topics, Ms. Blanken is the way to go!

Took Pre-Calc over Summer B. Far easier than expected, but lots of work. At least 1 homework & quiz daily to stay ahead. 3 projects; discussion/week; & lots of homework, quizzes, & tests. The course was rigorous, as is to be expected. Professor Blanken made it easier in every way. Answered questions, let me retake tests, and moved due dates 4 me.

Mrs. Blanken is literally such a good math teacher. Everything was online, which was amazing. Tests are easy if you remember how to do the problems, which there is a lot to learn in this class. She is super accessible and a quick responder. I would love to take her again.

She makes this subject understandable and ensures each and every one of her students is caught up and understanding. She is open outside of class and is willing to help under any circumstance. Prof. Blanken is very caring and put in lots of time to upload helpful videos going over tricky problems from the homework. Not a lot of online profs put in that kind of effort. She was also forgiving and gave me credit for a couple of questions the system marked wrong. As for the class, MAC1114 is easy if you have a good foundation in algebra.

Mrs. Blanken is a fantastic professor. Her class is hard, but math is pretty hard no matter what teacher you pick. She is super accessible and a clear grader, and she makes it easy to plan out her assignments throughout the whole semester. I loved her class; I would take it again. 10/10

She's super helpful and do help others in the math building in case you feel like you didn't understand the lesson she taught. I love the extra credit she gives. It really help keep the grades up.

Very good teacher, she explains things well although sometimes she rushes. If you're confused she has open office hours and is willing to help you. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and tests are graded fairly leniently, much more than some other professors at Daytona State College.

Absolutely amazing teacher!!! If you have a hard time with math, I recommend her. She has office hours. She grades with quizzes which can be retaken 3 times. HW is optional, if done, she counts it as EC for tests. I recommend doing the HW bc of that and also it will help you retain the math. By far best teacher ever!!!! She cares for her students.

Prof. Blanken substituted for two class sessions of my Calc I class this past fall, our final review and our final exam. The review was the clearest I had learned anything in class that semester and it made me wish she was my professor the whole time. She was so kind and would answer any question no matter how basic. Absolutely amazing!

Professor Blanken is an amazing math teacher. Her lessons are clear and engaging, and she genuinely cares about her students' success. I found Unstuck ai to be a great study aid alongside the textbook. Overall, a fantastic class!

I took Spring Trig and highly recommend this professor. There's a lot of homework, but some people prefer that since it creates opportunity to collect easy points. She provides extra credit opportunities throughout the class and is a very fair grader. She adjusts coursework based on class progress so you don't find yourself surprised on a test.
