I took her at Cal Poly Pomona, before she got her full time job at PCC. She is a wonderful professor who knows her material, and effectively presents with PowerPoint. Her tests were a bit of a challenge, but definitely not unjust. She uses innovative teaching methods in her lectures, and is so pretty too! You'll enjoy her class.

Simply a sweet professor, who actually knows how to teach unlike other professors. She makes her class very interesting and applies ideas you learn in class that apply to reality. I strongly recommend taking her. Study whats in blue (you'll know what I mean), and just make sure you understand general concepts, and you'll get a good grade (B or A).

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Her homework is dull and very tedious and frequently unclear. Her grading criteria are substantially strict for someone who fully depends on google to teach the class. She takes off more points than necessary and her quizzes are full of indistinct fill-in-blank questions, most are about topics that were hardly mentioned.

Professor Catanese is the sweetest teacher. If you take her class you will learn a lot and the material is mostly very interesting. BUT the amount of work you have to do is ridiculous. Not even a 6 unit course compares to this.

I took Horticulture w/Prof. Cat (as she likes to be called). Assignments have many components to them. If you misinterpret any of her instruction you will not get full points. Read instructions! She responds to email quickly, which is nice. Lots of reading, analyzing, &lab experiments. You will learn about climate change more than horticulture tho!

Professor Catanese has to be one of the worst professors Ive had. To start here module setup is terrible and is easy to get lost in. Her quizzes have nothing to do with the module work. Her grading process is terrible, she only grades what is not done and takes forever with what is done. Her feedback on HW is just resubmit and doesnt explain.

Maybe she is good when in person, but her online canvas class is terrible. Clunky modules with no coherent themes. Her grading makes no sense and she gives absolutely no feedback. She grades everything at the end of the semester and keeps you waiting on your grade. She also doesn't teach. You do the learning on your own basically. Why pay $126?

Absent, unorganized modules, no lectures. This teacher relies on you having to google EVERYTHING, masks incompetent teaching as 'metacognitive practice'. Not one assignment has been graded.Teaching ourselves and have no idea whether the work we are doing is up to their standards. Awful. Lazy. Don't take this professor, they r collecting a paycheck.

No clear syllabus and modules on Canvas were all over the place - she'd have things labeled as "don't do this one" or have instructions on assignments that made no sense. Then, she'd have this veiled judgement towards you if you didn't do things the way she wanted, but how could we know? One positive was how lenient she was on late work.

She's a nice person but her online course was not enjoyable. Her module is pretty messy and random and there were A LOT of assignments at the start of the semester, but eased off towards the end. Uses metacognition as a way to get students to do more self-studying. The assignments overall are pretty easy though.

Only the first half of the semester the teacher lets you retake any missing/badly graded assignments. The assignments/deadlines weren't organized. Some of the graded work was exempted from my final grade. She also takes forever to grade everything. Wouldn't recommend during a short semester, like winter. Expect lots of work/readings!

Prof. Cat is okay. She is very picky about grading and takes points off if you even get a word wrong in your assignment. Although, she allows you to resubmit if you're not satisfied. The assignments/modules aren't too hard, but you do need to put in the effort in order to get a good grade. She's accessible outside of class, which is nice.

She's actually a very good professor, the homework I would recommend on completing within a week or two ahead because the workload can be intense sometimes. If you have trouble understanding the assignments or the quizzes, then I would recommend emailing her or going to her office hours because she specifies things more clearly.

I would say that the class material is nice, and the professor is good at organizing the modules. Class is very unorganized, time consuming, and without clear instructions to assignments and group projects. She takes awhile to grade assignments so you don't know if you are doing them correctly.
