You need to go to class and do your work or you won't pass the class. If you do the work then it easy to get a good grade in her class. She is there for you when you need to help and does not make you feel stupid when you ask questions.
Out of all my classes Erika is my favorite teacher. I never was good in Math and always was afraid of it. Erika is the first teacher who made it fun and I understand it! She is very accessible if anyone needs help. I work hard, as one should in any class. So it is easy only if you are serious about your study. I highly recommend Erika.
She cares about her students
A really good instructor overall, always providing help when stuck and is pretty fun to have for math. Sadly i'm not very good when it comes to math, but does not effect how I see the instructor.
Great teacher makes math fun! and i hate math
She is a good professor and really cares about students learning and passing her class. I've had her more three math classes and ive understood her teaching well i like that she uses my math lab.
she is a lovely woman and a great great professor! she has so much patience and makes her lectures clear. she will slow down if you ask. ms. noffsinger is one my favorite college professors! one of the best!!
Professor Erika Noffsinger is amazing! She cares about her Math students and has a variety of office hours to meet with students that are experiencing difficulty. She wants you to pass, not fail. She gives clear, concise lectures. Class participation matters, and she make Math fun. If you want to pass Algebra, take her!! She cares!!!!
She is one amazing teacher. She is the best! The one and only math teacher in my history of taking math that helps me understand math!
Mrs. Erika Noffsinger is one of the best teachers I have taken math with. She is always making sure we know the material well enough to continue the next thing. If we have questions she will gladly answer them and help us with the math problems we are struggling with. Love her she is a very good teacher. I'm always recommend my friends to take her.
Good class, good explanations of chapters being discussed. You do need mymathlab to do homework for class, textbook isn't required due to its on mymathlab. Professor is very friendly, she actually played a short inspiration video after our class got the results from a very hard chapter we were tested on to keep us motivated.
She is great and a sweetheart couldn't ask for a better math professor that was caring and considerate of her students situations
Noffsinger is a good listener who helps you, help you succeed in math
She's very good at teaching, only thing I didn't like is how we have to turn in our scratch work from the homework at the day of the test.
Math is not my strong point , Professor Noffsinger went out of her way to make sure we all understood the concepts. She gives some extra credit and attendances does effect your grade. I felt like I had a professor that cheered me on and understood that not everyone is a math wiz. I highly recommend this professor!!
Mrs Noffsinger is an amazing teacher. Her lectures are very easy to follow and is always available to help out.
I would really like to be able to use notes on test. Even if its just one page.
I think she was a great teacher she seems unprepared some times but over all a great professor . and the first person I found outside of my family with a windows phone :) but the review I would of loved to have her for math 21 but the class is to last in the day for me otherwise I would have her again.
Good teacher overall but isn't very prepared with her lectures and lessons, she will give review's for tests but no solutions therefore we don't know if we are doing the material right. Also, rushes her lessons at the end of class so we can finish and we don't prepare much for tests. Assigns online homework.
I did better in this algebra class than I ever did in any algebra class before.
She is a wonderful teacher, if your not so good at math she really makes it so you can understand it. And is always available to help you if you are having trouble.
Amazing teacher! She gives very clear lectures, and is always happy to explain something in different ways to make sure that you understand the material. She uses mymathlab and Plickers, which are great for instant feedback, and is very generous in her grading. She makes a hard subject much easier and understandable! Defiantly would take again
Talented teacher, very nice to work with her
She is an amazing teacher, shes patient, and cares about what she teaches. Shes down to earth which makes it easy to talk to her no matter if your a shy person or not. She explains in multiple ways. I am taking 52B with her, downer is no calculator, but once u get used to it, its not that bad. Gives Xtra Credit, and great lectures. easy to contact.
She's an amazing teacher. Passing with a B :) Best math professor i've ever had. She genuinely cares of her students understand the material.
Fantastic professor. She truly cares for her students and wants to see them succeed. I had the pleasure of being both her student and her TA for another class, and in both I saw an amazing passion for her material and a real connection with her students. She is a real gem.
Made mistakes during lectures a lot but cared about feedback and made things easy to understand
This class is like any other math class. It's definitely hard if you don't study for the test and memorize the equations. She did give extra credit opportunity by giving a review for the test and if you did it you got the extra credit. Her test on the other hard are a little difficult. Overall though this was a good class.
You'll use My Math Lab for homework, no textbook. You can't use a calculator, so I struggled a lot. I know basic Math, but I still make small errors due to test anxiety, a basic calculator would've been nice to use. Overall she was a great teacher and understanding. I would take her again if given the opportunity.
She never hesitates to help students understand the content, especially with how difficult the class can be. She's willing to help students during her office hours and will reply to emails when you have questions. She's very understanding and open to feedback when you give her your perspective or opinion about the class. Very kind! Would recommend.
She is very smart and has the ability to teach amazing. When she solve the equation and you don't understand, she repeats for you very patiently. I learnt a lot from her. I am Sultan from Yuba college.
The lectures are easy to understand and she'll explain it until everyone understands it. If you are struggling she is willing to help , you just have to ask. I highly recommend you taking one of her classes.
Great teacher overall. Explains the lectures very well if you don't understand don't hesitate and ask her she will always go back and explain it. Make sure you don't miss a lecture!!!
Professor is a great professor except that her teaching can be a bit confusing at times so it is required that you pay lots of attention. I believe that if you take a class with her, you may struggle a little bit but you must do the homework and show up to class everyday to learn the section. The homework is fairly easy but the website was horrible
Really enjoyed the class, would definitely take another course with Pro. Noffsinger. Would recommend to brush up on fractions, if that is something you struggle with, because she likes to use fraction problems a lot. But overall a great Math class
overall a good professor she bends over backwards to help you, easy to contact, keeps you updated. very helpful
Professor Noffsinger was an amazing blend of kind, caring and actually an awesome teacher. I learned a tremendous amount in her class and always felt comfortable asking her for help or to clarify a point. Definitely take her if you want to have a genuinely great math class
She is a great person and teacher. She explains things well, and she is extremely patient. She is honest with everything about the course. She used Clippers for participation. You have to be in class to use that, which shows her u were there. I liked it, because we worked on math problems in class, and she answered questions. Easy to contact.
Math can be hard for many people. She makes it pretty clear how to do the problems, but could slow down just a smidge. I like her teaching style, and using MyMathLab really does help ur grade if you do all the hmwk on time. Tests can be overwhelming but what most tests are. And if that doesn't help, she not too bad on the eyes either ;)
Lectures are easy to comprehend
Great professor. When you don't understand something she will stop what she's working on just to help you understand it.
I love this Math class, I have taken this math before and failed, but with my professor during this Course made it so much easier and understandable!
easy teacher, very flexible. super lenient, if you dont take the notes can be hard to understand homework. stay on top of homework or it will over flow.
Professor was nice and always ready to help. Whenever help is needed she would assist during office hours which were conveniently right after the lecture. Homework site was frustrating at times but she always extended dates for the whole class if there were problems. Grading was very lenient and partial credit was given when it was due.
She is a good teacher, just do your homework and read and you will pass the class for sure.
Noffsinger always offers office hours to those who need extra help. her lectures are full with lots of examples and tries to make sure that the people who have a hard time with math can understand it. overall great teacher!
She's a good professor. You can always go to her during office hours if you have any questions. Try not to skip class, you might fall behind if you do. There are plenty of opportunities to get extra credit.
I can't stress how important this attribute is, but being easy to understand, especially when it comes to math is extremely important and that she was. I also enjoyed the use of Plicker cards. It allowed the entire class to participate while staying anonymous. Jeopardy review, not so much.
This professor cares and is always available for clarification. The tests were different than the homework that was assigned.
Professor Erika has a good instructor. She was always available for help. The main thing I did not like about the class was Mindtap. This website has problems. Otherwise she is a great teacher and I would recommend her.
Professor Erika's way of teaching was straight forward and helpful. Her tests are fairly difficult, but can be made easy with studying or if she gives you a test review to fill out. She has good attitude and wants to pass, but doesn't lower the bar, she just allows for mistakes. Her lectures get tedious and long at times, but mostly informative.
There is lots of homework due in this class online as well as physical copies of the work you did due on test days. If you show up to class and pay attention to the lectures, you will pass. The test's aren't too bad but definitely study before hand. Great teacher and would take again!
Mrs. Noffsinger is also caring, if i am struggling she will always take time to give individual instruction. Class lectures are vital, as her instruction is clear and simplifies best strategies for me.
Overall excellent math professor
She is a wonderful teacher. The online math site she chose for this class was not the best but she was always there for help if you needed it.
Professor Noffsinger is a good professor. She is always ready to help when needed. The only thing I did not like about the class is the homework online. The website was terrible and had too many issues.
good but can be very confusing.
Professor Noffsinger was the best math teacher I ever had. She is always willing to help you. The grade you receive does reflect your effort. I would definitely recommend her.
Her teaching style was easy to follow and was willing to help students outside of class.
She's a really good teacher I love her so much and she helps you out with anything and answers your questions asap and likes to met at her office whenever you need her, she's a amazing teacher if i were you i would take her to be honest.
she is very good at what she does. The class becomes very easy if you show up to class and do you work. All the homework is online and for all the test she provide students with study guide and always willing to help students go over the material in study guide outside her class, during office hours, and by appointment. Extra credit opportunity.
great teacher.
She's a really sweet and kind hearted person, definitely one of the nicest professors on campus. She gives really good 1 on 1 help, as well as excellent feedback. However, no one is perfect, her lectures are good however, sometimes she does mess up while teaching. Otherwise she's an excellent professor.
the class was very interactive but the lectures were a bit fast and hard to understand, and tests didn't cover much on the chapter (was harder than the homework)
This professor tries her best to make sure you understand the material and ask questions if you have them. She assigns homework on every section she lectures on and it's best if you keep up with it and not wait until the last minute.
I Really enjoyed her class and she is a good teacher. I did not like the online homework, but doing the homework helped to study for the test. I would take her again.
Ms. Noffsinger has been hands down the most easy to follow professors I've had. She makes learning math fun without the usual frustrations I've found with other professors style of teaching. I believe her style of teaching has made all the difference for me. Would recommend her to anyone, especially those that struggle with the concept of math.
Professor Noffsinger is really nice and her tests are fair, just be prepared to do a lot of homework! Online homework to be exact.
Honestly, the lectures were too disorganized for me. I will give Professor Noffsinger the benefit of the doubt regarding her teaching ability, since we dealt with a frustrating new book & website teaching program (75% of the class' frustrations). However, she is a very nice person and I love how flexible she is in helping students out of class.
She is a very sweet woman. However, she is somewhat disorganized, gets turned around and makes mistakes during lectures. If you struggle with algebra, I wouldn't recommend her because your notes can get messy with erasing and rewriting. You have to go to every meeting in order to have a fighting chance with this class. Tons of HW, too.
Alright, let's get this straight, no math class is easy, if it is you probably aren't gaining too much from it. She is without a doubt the most helpful teacher I have ever had. Feel free to go see her for her office hours, have a good relationship with her and she will go above and beyond for you. Lectures do get confusing, just clarify with her.
She is seriously one of the worse teachers at Yuba College. She doesn't explain her lectures. She is very difficult to understand, and she goes really fast. I pretty much had to learn everything by myself, like many other classmates did. Half of the class dropped her class because she sucks. I DO NOT recommend her to anyone.
I enjoyed going to the lab because it helped with finding out what i know
very nice professor, easy grader.
Well, I don't personally believe that participation should be included in a college grade.
she's a great professor. she is very willing to give extra help before and after lecture. furthermore, she gives great reviews before test.
Learned a lot of new ways to solve different equations
Erika Noffsinger is a great professor. She's very kind and always has a bright smile on her face. Attendance is mandatory but I skipped a lot of classes and still managed to pass with an A. Tests are straightforward and you get a review before each test. A lot of online HW but it's manageable. Mind you that I took this course over summer.
Lectures were long and sometimes hard to follow. Overall a good teacher.
Lectures are sometimes hard to follow but she is always open to help you. Homework is online and can be annoying. Overall, a good teacher who is always willing to help.
The class was thorough and well-structured. Even though it was an accelerated summer course, I feel that I am leaving with much more knowledge that I came in with. I feel prepared for more advanced mathematics in the future.
Mrs. Noffsinger was a great professor who aided students such as myself whenever i needed help. (outside of class)
Very amiable and unassuming. Easy to approach.
I liked taking the class with Noffsinger because of the way that she explains the material. it's clear and is willing to take questions about the problem. She is willing to help those in need during her office hours. There is also the possibility that there could be extra credit opportunities on the test or in extra assignments.
I liked the class.
Fair Grading and receptive to questions.
This was a great class. Erika Noffsinger was very friendly and helps when you need it. The only downside of this class was the amount of homework that we had each week. This was also probably because I took the class in the summer.
You will need to attend each class to earn participation credits toward your exams. She is an amazing professor with flexibility and kindness. I think she will be very flexible with working schedules, especially for military students. Exams are somewhat mid level difficulty but if you check your work and pay attention to detail, YOU WILL DO GOOD
her lecture can get confusing but she will clarify things if you ask her to. she gives extra credit
Professor Noffsinger gives you the opportunity to better your skill throughout the semester. She is funny, positive, and helpful. If you care about personality, you'll enjoy her class. Make sure you get the homework done on time so that it does not pile on. She provides a clear understanding of what to expect on each exam. No surprises.
Lots of extra credit opportunities. Fair grader. Lots of homework (all online).
It's grrrreat
I did not have the best attitude coming into this class. I had taken her before and did not like her teaching style. However, she structures her class very fairly and gives several opportunities for extra credit. She posts reviews on canvas. Her lectures are long, her tests are fair, and her class is passable. Math mistakes happen, be reasonable.
SHE IS VERY GOOD TEACHER.
The professor is really caring and wants the students to do good in her class.
she does a god job at explaining the lectures and she also gives out extra credit.
Erika was the best math teacher i have had. She gives credit for the steps even if you dont get the problem correct. She is super understanding, and understands that math is hard. She is a pretty easy grader and very fair. I would choose her as my math teacher ten times over again.
THIS GAL is the best math teacher I've ever had just based on her grading. She's super understanding and will always work to make sure you know what's going on. Out of both Noffsingers I'd take her class any day.
HW was through MyMath Lab. Hw every night but you have a week to do it. Lecture is how you learn. She can be a little confusing at times but she helps when you have questions. Recommend tutoring if you struggle.
She would teach something wrong for ten minutes until one of my classmates would correct her. Doesn't know what she's talking about when it comes to Trigonometry. Would be better off with any one of my classmates.
This professor is amazing. You can tell that she genuinly loves to teach and wants her students to do well. She does pretty much everything on my math lab youll have a quiz and depending on how well you do will determine how much homework you have. You can retake the quizzes and her in class tests are not bad. Im terrible at math and Im doing wel
If you do the homework and show up to class you will totally pass the class. Be sure to print out the reviews for test and if you do not understand the material Prof. Noffsinger is more than willing to help you after class. Trig was fun. Why is the obtuse triangle always upset? Because it is never right.
Professor Noffsinger was great. She went above and beyond when making her self available to her students through office hours. There is a lot of homework but she offers extra credit and really wants her students to learn and grow.
Professor Noffsinger is a great professor. she will help you pass if you actually want to. if you dont try you will not pass her class. you have to put in effort.
Professor Noffsinger is the only math teacher that has ever been able to make me actually understand math. This is my second semester with her and she is a really great teacher. Math 59 is not an easy course, but professor Noffsinger definitely makes sure you understand the material being taught.
Ive had a good time in her class. Youre able to contact her outside of class and shes willing to work with you
Professor Noffsinger is a wonderful caring Professor. She gives you extra credit and does all she can to help you succeed in her class. She uploads her notes and warm ups on canvas in case you missed her class that day you will have her notes. She is one of my favorite Professors.
If you dont show up to class your grade will go down. Jumps around lesson but speaks English so you can understand her.
Lecture can sometimes be a lot and prefer more hands on assignment and work then taking notes.
I would take this professor again.
Keep out with your homework and quiz
Great teacher. Really cares about taking time to help her students any way she can. Office hours are greatly appreciated - She makes extra time just to help you if you don't understand. This is my second class with her highly recommend.
Shes a wonderful professor
Professor Noffsinger is a very interactive teacher! She goes above and beyond to help her students grasp the concepts like switching pen colors during lecture making it easier to follow along. I found it helpful to start the section of homework she covered that day when you get home that way the next day you can come in with questions.
Every class we are assigned 2-3 new homework assignments that are due the following Tuesday. We are given enough time to do the homework, but I don't think we are taught it enough. I believe Professor Noffsinger should take more time with each lesson and not just have us take notes on it and expect us to do a whole homework lesson.
Mrs. Noffsinger is a wonderful professor. She really cares about her students and wants us to pass. I never liked math nor was I ever good at it, but she made it clear and easier to understand. She is always ready to help and a very good teacher.
She is a very good professor. she gives us a whole week to turn homework in online , but makes us write it down also that way she knows if we are getting the material or not . She is very helpful and open to any questions you have . definitely taking her class again:)
I have had Noffsinger for 3 different math classes she is a great teacher. Very Understanding and 100% there for help and guidance to succeed in her classes. Just dont wait until last minute to get the help it is there all semester long make use of it early and you will pass the class.
Professor E. Noffsinger is a great teacher. She is very understanding and approachable, as she goes out of her way to help students with any troubles that they might have in class. I highly recommend her and would love to take more math courses taught by her.
Excellent Professor. Would definitely recommend for Math 1A. She was always open to questions and very accessible outside of class. Every thursday we would be given activities in which we were able to apply our learning from throughout the week and actually get to practice the content. She is very approachable and understanding.
Good professor. Took her for trig and she is good at teaching and will answer any questions you may have. She does do her hw online through mymathlab. Offers extra credit and study guides for the tests and finals which helps a lot.
Mrs. Noffsinger is a great professor! I like the way she teaches - she writes out and goes through notes for each lesson/concept, so you can follow along and take the notes in class, or she has the notes posted if you missed something or need to review. She's clear about tests-no pop quizzes. She cares about the students and will clarify concepts.
She is a very lenient grader when it comes to her exams. Shes very nice and respectful and cares about you. Although, she tends to make quite a few mistakes and other students have to correct her otherwise she will just proceed but thats somewhat understandable since its an 8 am class. Expect about 3 or 4 homework assignments each week.
Professor Noffsinger is a great teacher. She is always willing to make time to help students in need, promoting their success. Assignments are clear and grading is fair.
Wonderful and excellent professor. Very willing to help outside of class hours on office time and responds to emails. Homework is done online and tends to be lenient with turn in dates as well. Make sure to show up to class, do the homework, and ask for help when you need it and it should be a breeze for the most part.
Professor Noffsinger is a excellent professor. She's always encouraging students to come see her if help is needed. If you miss a class she posts her notes on canvas, which is very helpful and great. The homework is due online weekly which you get plenty of time to finish.
Professor Noffsinger is probably one of the most caring professors I've been around so far in my college career. She wants everyone to do well, she grades tests fairly and sets clear guidelines for how to do well in the class and is always open to students input which is nice. Would definitely take another class!
Amazing professor that cares for students and helps to pass the class! Every lecture has homework that follows what's learned in class. Homework is on mymathlab online, and if turned in late, the max is 80% on that assignment. Her lectures are amazing and she can slow down and answer every question you have. Study session are held before every test
She's an amazing professor, always tries to help us out when were having trouble on a problem. She does her very best to try and help us pass her class. And she also lets us work hard to show how much we improved in her class when we began the course. She's a great instructor and I hope to have her again.
A lot of homework and the lectures are at a faster pace compared to others, only gives 2% extra credit, attend class everyday and try doing all the assignments on time. Wish there was test corrections to make up point but there isnt so make sure to study!!
Professor Noffsinger is a great teacher. Her lectures are informative and understandable. If you miss a class, she posts the notes online, which is extremely helpful. She is understanding and caring, especially with unforeseen situations. She takes things in stride and is very accessible outside of class.
Noffsinger is great. She's available at different times so it's not difficult to catch her office hours and she has no problem asking any questions you may have. 10/10
The class itself isnt hard. Its all showing up, listening to lecture, and then doing homework and extra studying outside of class on your own. Personally, I didn't like the format of that, Id rather have handout homework than just using MyMathLab. Mrs. Noffsinger is a good teacher but she goes through lectures way to fast in my opinion.
Mrs. Noffsinger is incredibly sweet and always makes sure she's there for her students. My only gripe with her is that she will consistently tell you what will be on the test, only to put something much different than what she told you to prep for. She's even put stuff on the test that she hasn't gone over. Just know what you're getting into.
She genuinely cares about her students and really tries to help her students out when they need it. I think her lectures are a bit too fast, and she breezes through all the steps without giving us time to kind of digest what we're learning. Her tests are also a little questionable but she's an understanding grader, she gives you points for trying.
Tests have material that either we haven't gone over, or material that we've only worked on once thinking that it wouldn't be on the test. It seems like the material we work on the most in class/hw isn't ever on the tests. She tells you what to study for, then surprises you with material you were not expecting. She's really sweet and understanding.
Her lectures are simple, but they provide the basic information. You will need to do your own studying for this class. She gives a lot of homework and it is a lot harder than what she teaches in her lectures, but by doing your own studying and using the textbook you should be able to complete it and she is always available for help.
Awesome professor, I took the math 1A coarse and it was clear to understand, additionally it was very fun. Yes, there is a lot of homework but it helps you through the class. I recently came out of high school calculus, but she taught a lot better than my high school teacher. Highly recommend her.
Prof Noffsinger is extremely understanding and helpful, she is there if you have any questions and wants you to succeed. She does go pretty fast through lectures but is available for office hours. Kind of a lot of homework so do it as you go. Tests aren't too terrible but definitely do practice problems going into them, she grades fairly.
Professor Erika Noffsinger is very sweet and nice. She's one of the nicest professor I ever had. If someone needs any help she tries her best to help them. She tries her best to help you pass the class, at the end of the day it's all up to you, if you work hard and she sees that you worked very hard you'll pass.
Erika Noffsinger was great for my college algebra class. Her lectures are well planned and she allows a 10 minute break at the half-way mark of class. Sometimes she does move a little fast but is always willing to take time to answer your questions or slow down. One of my favorite things about this class is that she posts the notes onto canvas.
If your struggling in her class she goes out of her way to make sure you get the help you need, and she's very nice and caring professor.
This was my first time taking Calculus, so I really did not know what to expect and was terrified. After taking her class, I was glad I did. Its not a walk in the park, you have to be diligent in your effort, but If you do whats necessary like do the homework and ask questions you do not understand, you will be just fine.
She is very caring for all of her students. She wants everyone to pass the course and will go out of her way to help you succeed.
This professor is the best math professor Ive had here at Yuba College. She genuinely cares about her students and thats not something you see often! As long as you show up, do the homework and study on your own time, you should be able to pass the class.
Professor Noffsinger is a hard working professor. The class is definitely a challenge, you have to work for it in this class. If you are not a strong math student, I would suggest a stats class instead. Lots of studying and tutoring needed to be very successful in the class. Although Professor works hard to make the class easy fro the student.
Wonderful and inspiring teacher, really encourages students to work hard in the class. constantly giving pep talks to students and inspiring the class to keep pushing forward. I really enjoyed having her as a teacher, and loved that she graded based off of understanding concepts. she posts old notes, tests, and LOTS of resources.
I really enjoyed having her as my teacher this semester. She encouraged student to keep pushing forward, offered chances to make up late homework, and offered LOTS of resources on canvas. She always talked about office hours, and encouraged us to use the tutor center, and other resources on campus.
She is one of the most professors at Yuba College. She explains everything very well, and is always available during her office hours if you need further help. The class is difficult because it is a high level of math but she gives you everything you need to pass the class, at that point it's up to the student to study the material provided.
Professor Noffsinger is amazing. She has a very strict schedule when she is in the class, so if there is something you do not understand, it will be best to visit her during office hours. She is so genuine and really wants all of her students to do well. The homework was all on mymathlab. She gives a decent amount of extra credit. DO THE HOMEWORK!
I really enjoyed Professor Noffsinger's class. She did a really good job at making the material easy to understand. Heads up you will have a decent amount of homework and attendance is mandatory but it's not too bad and she does a good job at keeping lectures not boring and they go by really fast. I would recommend.
This teacher is so nice and approachable. As others have mentioned, she really cares about the success of her students and she really tries to make the learning experience fun and easy. She is very flexible and often encourages students to seek extra help. There is a lot of homework but I would definitely take this course again.
Shes a great professor, but I felt like she was learning how to solve the problems along with me. Too much homework is assigned and she doesn't always have a clear lesson plan. I think she did okay for her first time teaching calculus she just needs to get a little more organized. Shes really nice and open to help. I recommend going to tutoring.
Mrs. Noffsinger makes a lot of time for her students outside of the class, she has study sessions before the tests, and explains the material very well. I truly enjoyed her class, and her way of teaching. I would definitely take another class with her. I would recommend her for a math class, I enjoyed my time in her class, and learned a lot.
I recommend professor Erika Noffsinger do to her availability and the office hour or student hours that she provides. She is good about dropping your lowest test grade so study and do the homework otherwise you will not pass.
Professor Noffsinger made the class very entertaining despite being very early in the morning. I felt pretty engaged during lectures. During the breaks she gave she would sometimes show videos that pertained to schooling as a whole as opposed to just mathematics. Would definitely take again.
Professor Noffsinger was very clear and organzied in all aspects of the class for the entire year. She gave everyone equal and fair oppurtunities and is a very understanding person
Professor Noffsinger was overall a good professor. I believed her exams were tough and that the homework that was assigned did not adequately help . Also, there was too much homework assigned.
Professor Noffsinger is very caring with all of her students. She really wants everyone to do good and is very helpful. She offers extra credit and lets you turn in the homework late for partial credit. Attendance and participation in class activities is very important.
Overall great teacher. You have to show up to class because she does in class exercises. And if you need help just show up to her office hours .
Erika Noffsinger is a good professor she knows what she is doing and does it well, glad I took her course. Even though i have trouble actually paying attention I did in this class because I liked the way she got the class to be involved
Professor Noffsinger was great teacher, i would definitely take her again. Her teacher style fit my learning style, she gave good notes and good gave good examples. I like how she gave partial credit on exams.
Professor Noffsinger was a great professor. I enjoyed taking her class because of the way she tought it. I would highly recommend you take professor Noffsinger for your math classes. I like the fact that she gives you partical credit on exams, and if you talk to her she could be very understanding and considerate.
She was a very good professor and I really enjoyed her teaching style. She is not intimidating at all and is very easy to approach, which is a bonus. I would definitely recommend taking her class.
Mrs. Noffsinger was probably the best math teacher I learned from the most. I had taken pre-calc in high school and that was really hard for me but in math 20 things started to make more sense. Mrs. Noffsinger would explain how to do something or why we did it and she wasn't mean or rude about it. She wanted all of us to succeed. I think shes great
Great math teacher and knows how to keep a positive environment.
Wonderful instructor with good lectures and clear expectations. Office hours are extremely helpful Professor Noffsinger will help you with everything including homework or just getting a better understanding of concepts. Homework heavy but that comes with all math courses.
The class is challenging, but if you put if in the time to do the work and study-youll pass. Noffsinger is passionate about her work; she wants you to pass and will help you if youre having difficulty. The tests arent that difficult, if you actually study for them. The homework is done on mymathlab;and you get an unlimited amount of attempts.
Her class is based on attendance, a lot of homework online, but it does make sense to be there. You guys would have to do a lot of notes, but whats really annoying sometimes is that when you do notes, it wouldn't match up with the homework online. If anything than that its all good. STUDY REALLY HARD!!
Great teacher. I had difficulty passing Math 52 with previous teachers but with Noffsinger I was finally able to pass the course!
Math is not my strong subject but after taking this class and participating I realized how much I actually like the class, just not the way it is taught sometimes. Professor Noffsinger made herself available to her students constantly throughout the semester which was difficult considering the ongoing pandemic. Easily one of the best teachers here.
Extra credit was offered though it wasn't much. You can easily get a C or better on exams if you use her old exams as review. There's A LOT of homework. There's homework for each lesson in a chapter, a chapter review, chapter quiz, and chapter test but it can all be manageable if you don't procrastinate. She has a very kind personality as well.
The sweetest person, but very confusing. It felt like she was learning as we were, but that's mostly because it's her first time teaching 10A. Her lectures were confusing. I learned ( & studied)more by homework on mymathlab, which she used a lot. Use office hours. She gave extra credit for showing work on exams, it saved me.
Nice, but not understanding. Day of test, I was having medical problems, I talked to her about it, and she told me if I didn't take test that day, she'd give me an F. Also there was an assignment we had to do, it didn't show up in CANVAS for me. She didn't send me the work until 4 days later, @ midnight, ten hours before it was due (no extension).
Doesnt respond to e-mails. She doesnt allow students to see their grades throughout the semester. Not being a math expert, this was very difficult because I didnt know how I was doing. When teaching, she is not able to simplify the problem, but adds additional steps. Her explanations weren't very clear.
Worst professor I have ever taken, her lectures are beyond awful. If someone has a question she slightly makes them feel dumb for asking the question and not understanding the material. I would never EVER recommend her class to anyone.
Professor Noffsinger is a really good professor, would highly recommend taking it again. Very easy to understand the material if you know some already. A little bit confusing but a very easy and fast pace class.
She was the amazing professor I ever seen.
She is the amazing professor I ever seen.
Great Teacher! You need to either join class or watch her lectures when you get time. There is MML homework and quizzes for each chapter. There is 2 in zoom tests than there is 1 in zoom final. If you struggle go talk to her and she will help explain it to you. It is fast paced but shouldn't be hard to keep up. Never had math prof like her before.
I have taken Erika 2 times now, and she was a good teacher both times, even when she was thrown into online classes from the pandemic. I would recommend her to anyone!
One of the best semesters I've had with her, she really cares and is always there when you need her. Definitely would recommend !
Professor Noffsinger is a great teacher and will answer any questions you have about Calculus. She is also understanding and caring and wants you not only to do well in her class, but to understand what you are learning. There is a lot of homework, but repetition is truly the only way to learn the material and then do well on the exams & MML exams
She is a very nice and approachable professor who explains math problems well when you are stuck. You have to be on top of your studying if you want to pass the class. It is a lot of memorization, but if you put in the time and effort to study well. It will pay off, make sure to study practice test that she gives out because those are very helpful.
She is nice but she dont know what is she teaching. Tests are too hard. Also, need to do 3-6 MathLab homework assignments per week. Like a lot of homework, maybe she think we are just taking her course.
With any online class there will be struggles but she does her best to limit those and is really helpful, and willing to help if you have any questions.
This professor really took time with her students and explained everything clearly. She made study guided for every exam and assigned homework that really helped us study for each exam. She really cares about her students and their grades.
She is really understanding if you talk to her about anything you are having trouble with. She teaches fairly well but with a few mistake which she immediately corrects. Calculus online can be extremely difficult but she made it less of a headache than you would expect it to be.
Professor Noffsinger is very kind and understanding if you are having difficulty in the class and is more than willing to help you. Unfortunately, the class is very difficult and will leave you grasping for understanding of the material. If you want to pass this class, definitely take up test corrections and office hours opportunities.
I took many of Noffsingers math courses, from algebra to trigonometry. She assigns 30 or so problems a week, but nothing unfairly difficult. She is reasonable with late assignments. She's very approachable, and answers all questions fully without trying to give you the shortest version possible to save time. She also offers lots of extra credit.
If you take a math class at Yuba College, take it with Erica! She is so awesome! She wants her students to succeed. Make sure you don't skip class, though, because a decent chunk of your grade is attendance. I will take every math class I need with her if possible.
I had to take her for Calc and it was the hardest class I have ever taken. Don't get me wrong, she was a very nice person but she was not a very good online teacher. There is class participation points and she assigns a lot of work for the week. Sometimes there was 2 exams and a test in one week.
She gives 5 assignments A WEEK on "MathLab" online, each taking 4 hours to complete along side 2 chapter quizzes. (THIS IS WEEKLY) She expects you to only take her class and disregards the fact you have other courses/work. During midterms, she forgot to assign 6 previous assignments, which she assigned on top of all current work with no extension.
She's a good person and caring, but I wouldn't recommend it if you take multiple classes and don't have time to spend many hours on assignments. Seriously it's too much.
An amazing teacher! Erika takes the time to help you understand the coursework and even provides resources outside of class, such as tutoring sessions right before a test and accommodating office hours! She gives quite a bit of homework, but if you pay attention in class, the work goes by very quickly, and it saves you study time. Will taking again
Professor Noffsinger was really great! There is lots of homework and quizzes but it helps you understand the material more. Personally, I did not do well on the exams and do not know if I will end up passing the class. However, I do not blame Noffsinger for that. She takes provides exam review sessions, office hours, and much more.
I took professor Noffsinger for Calculus 1 and it was the hardest class i've ever taken. She's a really nice person but not the best teacher. She assigns lots of hw and doesn't do a good job at teaching the material. Usually, she just did example problems on the board and it was up to us to hopefully understand what she was doing.
she is nice but chaotic class. She taught by going over one or two hw problems and group activities that were illy prepared or thought out. Txt book is online and homework is via the online book which takes forever per problem. Not a user friendly product. It felt like she was unprepared for this class, as she was getting corrected by students.
Noffsinger is a kind and approachable teacher. She lectures quite fast and it is hard to understand the problems before she moves on to the next example. The "Try-Its" were great but I hated the group activities. MyMathLab tests are more difficult than the tests she writes (she grades well). I watched her videos and they helped. Cute bunny.
I really like this professor and honestly, As long as I did my homework and test prep, I was fine. I was able to gain a lot from this class, since I'm majoring in Engineering, she is teaching it very good and makes things easier to understand.
Prodessor Noffsinger is very passionate about her teaching, and you will see that your math skills will improve with it. Everything is made clear, and you will get to know your pears with games. Make sure to study and do your homework and you will easily pass the tests! If you end up taking the class, I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did!
Professor Noffsinger is a great teacher! Even though I took an online class, I could tell she still cared and was there for her students. I found the MyMathLab tests more difficult than the exams we took over zoom, but as long as you watch all the lectures, do the homework and review, you should be fine!
The most amazing and caring professor ever!! I would recommend her for Maths, she really helps you by providing great lectures, supplemental videos, review sessions and great feedback. She's so nice and helpful, she really counts every effort and would give you credit for just trying too. One thing, just don't fall behind with your assignments.
A wonderful instructor. If you show that you want to pass, and you put in the work she will move mountains to help you succeed. What does "putting in the work" look like? Just emailing her, let her know when you're having issues, attend her office hours. There is a lot of work but if you plan it out and work with her it's definitely manageable.
Professor Noffsinger was an amazing math teacher and all the struggles I had in the class were largely on my end. You have to be ready to put in the work if you take this class. But if you do, you will see the results.
Professor Noffsinger is a very kind professor. Be sure to pay attention and attend class. In class you take a lot of notes and not attending class make it harder to learn or understand the material. Professor Noffsinger is willing to work with you if you attend her office hours.
My experience was great as took both math 20 and 21 same semester. just do your assignments and go though notes you will easily score an A.
I took math 20 and 21 same semester over all it was great experience . Just do assignments and go though notes you will easily score an A .
I took math 20 and 21 same semester over all it was great experience . Just do assignments and go though notes you will easily score an A . Give online tests properly that will make u ready for class exam.
I took Math 10 and overall it was a good experience. If you keep up with the notes and the homework, then you should be fine. Easy to find after class with her office hours. The only thing I do wish is that she would do is post grades on canvas as the semester goes along. Would recommend her to others.
Professor Noffsinger is a great mathematics professor! Personally, I really underestimated the homework-to-study ratio. The class itself isn't bad, as long as you take advantage of office hours & make the effort to study. She goes very in-depth on topics and is always letting us know her office hours. Definitely recommend.
This is my third semester with Prof. Noffsinger, and I will retake her for the fourth time this spring. She is incredibly caring and gives up a lot of her free time to her students. She does give a ton of homework, but the repetition helps! She cares more that you understand the material and doesn't fault you too much for human error. 10/10!
Professor gives decent lectures wish there were more in class activities. Professor allowed students to choose their subjects for the whole class and personal research project. Preferred professor had more one on one engagement.
She was so awesome and understanding if you had questions or concerns that you had about class. At times, we had fun when doing the lectures by playing games to help us review for an upcoming test that we had. She is also understanding if you ever need help on material over the course of the semester. She's a caring and amazing professor.
I would 10000% take her class again and plan on taking her calc class in the Spring. She is so good at teaching and is very passionate about helping you but you must make the effort to go to her. She does her best at working with your schedule to have time to meet with you. I only have great things to say about her and recommend her to everyone!
Noffsinger is nice of a person but as a professor idk. This semester's class felt unprepared asf. How do you make us take a Chapter Test, before when the homework lessons are due to get more learning on what the test is on? This class has students failing. If this is what you then take it, but I don't recommend it at all.
she was nice but as a professor, it was not it. she requires you to buy another program online for homework that you pay almost $80 for. she assigns homework every week that has up to almost 30 questions, some weeks she assigns two homework's and almost 30 questions due on the same day. i had to drop because i was going to fail if i didn't.
Prof. Noffsinger is an amazing math teacher who really cares about her students. The workload is heavy, but she provides great support, including video lectures and office hours. Using tools like Unstuck study can make studying more efficient.
Professor Noffsinger is the sweetest! Be aware, there can be a lot of work assigned during certain weeks but if you know how to manage your time well, you will be fine. She also offers great support outside of class if needed. She prepares her students for success on tests by assigning helpful review materials. Overall, she is a great professor.
Professor was great when teaching her material and outgoing. Subject may be a little hard for others, but this professor emphasizes tutoring and also helps outside of class. She offers plenty of reviews before tests and also extra credit for tests. You can ESPECIALLY fall behind if you miss more than 2 days. Mildly difficult, but very doable!
i took her for a 6 week summer course, the class itself is hard and the material is hard to understand if you don't take the extra time outside of class but the professor is super nice, she's understanding of students and she makes the class harder to fail if you don't participate so just show up.
One of my favorite mathematics teachers of all time. Really enthusiastic and ready to help anyone at any time. Her personality is a breath of fresh air compared to most other professors in this field. I took her during summer session, so it was faster paced than usual. She has lots of extra credit opportunities and if she makes sure that you pass.
Took this Professor over the summer and had her for a previous math class during the spring semester. This professor I would Highly Recommend to anyone needing to take a math class in general. This Professors teaching was understandable and easy to follow and she explained things amazingly well. She also assigns stuff that helps a lot with finals.
For calculus this Professor was a joy to have. The class was around 6 weeks long and although it was a lot of content in such a short span of time the professor taught it amazingly well and made it easy to understand. I highly recommend anyone needing to take any math class to take it with her because this professor is just amazing.
She truly inspired me not to give up, even when I was struggling. She always made time to work with me and genuinely cared about my success. The class is definitely passable, but you have to put in your full effort. She's supportive, kind, and incredibly motivating. Without a doubt, my favorite professor at Yuba College!
Spring of 2025, asked for help with a circles question and professor said "um, I'm not sure" so I gave up after she said this. I still passed with a C. Would not recommend other students to take her.
