Mrs. Davies was a very nice teacher and whenever we needed help in something, she was always willing to help. I also liked the food she brought to class.:)

This is the easiest class I've ever taken, she is super extra sweet, helps you out with anything, and at the end of the class if you want extra points you just need to kno the basics of the stories, besides the point that she gives you the questions of the quizes a day before and then lets you bring in notes and book 4 the quiz. Erin is the sweetest Professor I've ever had. She very linent when it comes to essays and is always willing to help out. I would recommend her to every student who has to take ENC1101. The stories weren't hard and she always gave you the questions that would be on the test for you to review. She's the greatest one out there.

She was an amazing teacher! always lets you out an hour early, gives questions to the quizes the day before, I got an A on every quiz. Lets you revise your essays about 3 times. The storeys where interesting and easy to read. Dont take anyone else for enc1101, if you want an easy A take her!!

The sweetest and best teacher you will ever take! You do a lot of group work in her class and she makes it enjoyable. A very good teacher. She made it interesting for the whole class to get into literature. We watched two movies, and lots of group work. She gives you study questions which resemble real test questions almost exactly. Would recommend to all!

She is a really good teacher i would take her again but she not doing 1102 this fall! The tests are a breeze.. pfft i didn't even read them on top of that she gives you the questions and lets you use them and the book during the class. But she does take you lateness!

This is a awesome teacher. You only write 3(750 word)essays and she allows you to rewrite them once for a better grade. Not a lot of reading just short stories that you read in a couple minutes.She gives small quizs on what you read.SUPER EASIER AND NICE

She is a nice professor and followed the syllabus, but I wouldn't take her again since I hardly learned anything. I had a better Engligh prep professor that taught me alot, which is why I expected to gain more knowledge in a "college level" English class. I don't know how could anyone survive in any class if they don't know their English grammar.

She is very helpful and will help you with any questions that you may have. You have to write 3 essays in the class and you are able to rewrite them if you are not happy with the grade. We had quizes about every week. This was a good class to take, just make sure you read everything you are assigned.

Very nice teacher. Very helpful. 3(750)word essays. 1st is just a draft she returns with comments, 2nd is a revision, and she lets you revise it one more time for a better grade. Quizzes about once a week on short stories you read from the book. All easy. You watch a movie of your choice in class and quiz. Many chances. Awesome! Take her!

Very easy class, only 3 essays, and a couple quizzes from short stories out of the book. Watch movies in class and take home a quiz about it. No midterm, no final! Only have to turn in journal entires.. also can redo all your essays till you get the grade you want.

I liked her at first because she is very kind and understanding, but she taught the class like we were in elementary school. Something switched on the last day and she was so rude. I didn't get it. Somehow I got a B even though the class was super easy... I think she takes her anger out on our grades.

A terrific a person with a great personality and wants you to succeed in class. She gives you ample time to write your essay and will allow you to revamp them after her first grade so you have the opportunity of a better grade & always willing to help you . I was not looking forward to this class and she made it a pleasant experience.

She is super sweet and understanding. There is no reason you should not pass her class. She gives weekly tests based on stories you read for homework but after discussions in class, it'd be sad for you to not get an A. You're required to do three research papers, and if you are not satisfied with your grade she allows you to redo it! She's so nice!

I took her AWHILE ago, lol but shes honestly the best. I took her for ENC 1 & 2. English is my fav subject, I love people who articulate well & the lady speaks PERFECT English, lol shes great man. I remember lots of papers, but she checks them, corrects them, & gives em back for a rewrite. Take her if shes open because she wont stay open long.

She is really nice and helpful and all but she is a really hard grader on the essays. She tells you to be creative and stuff but then when she grades the essays she picks on you for everything.

This is an easy class with an amazing professor. The only downside is that the class can get VERY VERY BORING. Everything you do in this class is pretty boring and not fun.. Super easy going and smart. The class I took with her was interactive. We would go in and all of the sudden we had to leave, never even realized you spent 3 hrs talking about the material. Which by the way is super easy to read and relatable. Some topics could be sensitive to some, but she makes it a peaceful enviorment for everyone. TAKE HER!

I just took Enc1101 with her, and she is by far the best teacher ever. Very clear as to what she wants out of students and is willing to give chances. With the essays (which are the main marks), you can hand in your first copy and if you're not happy with the grade you can edit it to get a better mark. Take her, she is so nice and sweet!!!

Has to be the best professor every taken, will get you involved in all readings. Would take her anytime for any class. After turning in any of three essays, you have a chance to revise them for a better grade. Trust me, the best ever.

DONT BUY THE BOOK. we have never used it through out the whole semester. very EASY grade if you attend class and do the work. such a boring class however and it is more like a sociology class and journalism then English composition. I didn't learn really anything but easy grade and she is super sweet

Shes amazing! Everything is posted word for word online. She even emails you before assignments are due. 3 essays which can be turned in again corrected for a higher grade. Easy group discussions and she gives extra credit. If you get less than a B in this class there's something seriously wrong with you.

Monster Themed class - So much fun! Some topics were Dexter, The Walking Dead & Silence of the Lambs. Very little in-class assignments. Watched several movies and did a take-home movie quiz that she gave prior to the movie. Three essays which she allows you to revise for a better grade. She's very easy and wants to help you. Prof Burns was a fun class because she based on witch craft, monsters, serial killers and more so its interesting. I'm not the best write however she helped me tremendously. I would recommend her to anyone of my friend and student who are in need of a good English teacher.

If you ever get a chance to take this class/teacher, do it. Assignments really pertain to things actually happening in the real world and even if they don't interest you her quirks will keep you entertained. Couple of movie days and overall just a pretty easy class if you put in any sliver of effort in.

No book needed. Super easy, extremely nice. 3 essays the whole semester, with chance of revision on every one. The only way to fail is not doing the essays.

Super easy. A lot of reading but 9/10 times its interesting. Gives take home quizzes and never gives a test. very rarely is there homework.

I took her night class which was really long but it went by pretty fast. Watched some weird movies in class but they made the class interesting. Grade based on 3 major papers topics are really different from anything I've ever been assigned but made for an interesting class , and response papers to the movies, some quizzes but nothing too bad.

Amazing and incredibly sweet teacher who will do everything in her power to help you out if you're struggling. Only had to write 3 papers from ENC1101 and then the same for 1102. You are able to get a better grade on your essays if you correct the mistakes she outlined and turned it back in so don't be afraid if you're not that good to writing.

Took her night class for English 2. Assignments were not too difficult, and you only have 3 papers to write the entire course, with a chance to get it back and revise it. I took the horror-genre class and her selection of films were spectacular, nothing really old and boring. Amazing professor.

One of the best teachers ever. I loved this version of English! She was very clear in whatever was assigned. You are able to review papers (that are only 750 words might I add) for a better passing grade. Get to class on time, and overtime and you will pass! Extra credit is offered for good attendance and with a little assignment at the end of the semester.

Being a lover of the horror genre, her class was one of the best I've ever taken. She definitely makes writing fun, and does does a great job at helping us look deeper into the meaning of stories and films. Also, she gives you plenty of prompts to choose from for each of your 3 essays so you don't feel constricted, and she gives extra credit too!

Professor Davie's monster class is fun. For her 12 week class, we watched a few movies, read 2 easy books, and a couple of poems. There is a lot of writing. There are 3 formal essays, that she will let you revise. Always revise!!!!!!!!!! She will make you a better writer, and the process of writing easier for you. Learned a lot, and enjoyed myself.

Overall, she's good and caring teacher. The main grades are the three essays, which all have the option to revise if you're not satisfied with your grade. Other grades include 5-10 questions quizzes and group discussions. The class is pretty straight forward, she gives all the tool you need in order pass to the class. I would recommend her.

One of my favorite teachers. Your grade will only be based on three essays. She gives great feedback and will allow you to fix your mistakes on your papers and turn in again for a completely different grade. Would definitely take this class again.

Film As Lit -Horror Movies. She is very kind. good at leading class in fun,interesting discussions. Discuss deeper meaning to themes in Horror Movies. Watch 1 film per class! write 1 page ppr per movie Took me less than 1 hour to write each and got high A's on each. 1 1000/wd essay worth 50% of grade.

Everyone knows ENC1101 is lots of writing. This professor makes the writing easy. She prepares you very well for each essay (only 3). There is an online component (writing library), which she also gives you every opportunity to finish in time. She is very caring and helpful. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend her!!!!

This was such a unique class and take on english. It actually contained topics we're interested in. You do have to write papers but they're not difficult. Just make sure you know your MLA format. Overall a great class!!

I took this class in dual enrollment during the spring. I'm so glad I had this teacher. I did her work during my study halls every other day (I had her Mon and Wed) and it was no stress at all.

The nicest professor ever! There will be given four main papers and they're all relatively the same just with different movies/books. The quizzes are open book and she reviews it beforehand. During class you will watch a lot of movies. She's very understanding and gives good thorough lectures! Highly recommend!

Professor Burns-Davies is great. I chose this class solely because it was based on horror movies. You watch a different genre scary movie every class and write a paper on each one. Then she has 1 overall paper that's worth more as a final. This class was one of my favorites by far, loved coming to class. TAKE HER, SHE IS GREAT.

Professor Burns is a great Professor. She is sweet, nice and very understanding. You have 3 essays but very easy and lets you redo them. The class can sometimes get boring but very very worth it. Easy A!

I really liked the class out everything I took and the topics she picked for this semester. We only had to write 3 papers but they weren't hard .she's very nice and soft-spoken

I LOVED Ms. Burns I took her for enc1101 and enjoyed it. Would love to take her for enc1102 but she only teaches night classes. :/ TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT

100% recommend It's an easy A. all you have to do the three essays that are very easy; she gives you options on the topics, its usually on topics discussed in class. If you don't miss a class, you get 2 points, and at the end of the semester, you can do a small presentation for 3 points. The only advice I have is work on the essays ahead of time.

I don't have enough space to write everything great about this professor, she is honestly a diamond in the rough. She is incredibly sweet and approachable and seriously does the most to make sure you understand. By far one of my favorite professors, if not my favorite. Pay attention in class and do the work and I'm sure you will have no problems.

I absolutely loved Ms. Burns. She is very organized if you miss a class you can follow along on the syllabus perfectly. She also lets you revise essays if you aren't satisfied with your grade.

Wonderful and easy going woman am currently taking her again for Enc1102 . 3 essays and give you a chance to resubmit after her feedback for a better grade. Class work in easy and homework is also easy.

She's a pretty awesome professor the work is easy. Come to class and you will pass because some essays are based off a filmed that was watched in class or in regards to a poem or a short story read. The class is pretty great, I enjoyed this class and I'm glad I had her as a professor.

This professor is the best one I had so far! She is super NICE and her lectures are actually very interesting. She is kind of a tough grader but at least it shows she actually cares and does her job. I am sad this class has come to an end. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

There was 3 essays in total which she allowed you to revise. For the essays she is flexible about the topics. Her quizzes are based off of articles and are easy. She is a very kind person and will help you if you ask her for it. I'm so glad that I took this class with her. Overall, the class is easy and it shouldn't be hard to get an A.

I took her for 1101 and she was so amazing, I took her for 1102 as well. She teaches clearly and gives detailed feedback. If you miss an assignment she will let you make it up. Shes very soft-spoken and caring to her students. Lets you revise essays for higher grade .

Professor Davies is an amazing teacher, I took her for ENC1101 & ENC1102. She always has a great attitude and makes everyone feel comfortable to participate & share their thoughts. The essays assigned are on relevant & interesting issues. She's very clear on how to do things and is always there to help. I wish all teachers were like her.

I havent been in school in 3 years and she made me feel comfortable with going back to school. She picked interesting movies and discussions and allows yo to rewrite your paper .

I love her! She's honestly so sweet and helpful. Only reason I got a D was because I was called back to work after covid and I felt really stressed out and missed my second essay. She emails back quickly with any questions you have! Make sure to read the other good comments here, they're pretty accurate! Would definitely take her again. :)

Prof. Burns was a great first-time in college professor. She was super nice and soft spoken. When Covid hit, all my work was being submitted like 2 weeks past due date. But she was extremely considerate and still gave me an A. I would recommend her class to anyone.

Professor Burns is very caring and understanding with her students. The lectures were interesting and she encourages students to participate in discussions. She is clear on the grading scale for the papers and is always willing to answer any questions you have. I wish I could've taken her for 1102 but they were all night classes. Highly recommend!!

She is a great professor. She allows you to fix assignments to get a better grade. She is really sweet and caring. I completed her class via Zoom due to covid. We had to read a book that was about 170 pages and a picture novel. She also has her students watch movies.

Looking back at my time at BC, I took my time with Prof. Burns-Davies for granted. Her class was extremely enjoyable and laid-backed. It was horror-themed, so definitely piqued my interest. Three papers and so many chances to correct them. Super caring and sweet, I wish I took my remaining undergrad years with her. Take her, you won't regret it!!

She is an amazing professor! I had her for ENC1101 and I passed with an A. Three essays, four quizzes, two discussions. Makes you watch movies, read small articles, or a book that was 142 pages. Trust me, if you do the work and revision to get a better grade you'll pass! It's not hard.

I took Prof. Burns HORROR themed ENC1102 course and it was great. 3 essays, 4 EASY quizzes (she gives you the questions prior), and a few short writings. Attendance is not mandatory but I recommend it because her lectures are interesting and they do help with the quizzes. She is easily accessible too! Overall HIGHLY recommend taking her class.

She is really good, you have to read yes but it is worth it. She is flexible with due dates and the topics are pretty interesting.

I think Professor Erin is one of those people that really loves what they teach. I enjoyed this class because it was something different. One of the things I didn't enjoy was the fact that there are so many papers and quizzes due, a lot. So if you are planning on taking this course get ready to WORKKKK.

Prof. Erin Burns-Davies is the most caring and thorough teacher I have ever had. She is such a gem. She gives a lot of work but it is not hard and the work is used to help us with our essay papers. I took a Monster-themed class so it was more exciting. We had to write 3 papers and she allows one rewrite per paper. She offers extra credit but with my re-writes,I was already getting an A. PLEASE KNOW - if you a lazy student and cant make it to class on time she is a STICKLER for attendance and participation. I highly recommend Erin

Prof. Burns is a great professor. I had previously taken her for ENC 1101 and loved my time with her so much that I took her for ENC 1102. This class is based around Lovecraft Country and is accompanied with ten short writings and three essays. She is very forgiving with late work and truly cares for her students. Definitely would recommend her.

Professor Burns-davies was terrific!!. English grammar does not come easy for me; however, I learned much from her. She will cut your paper up when grading, but you get a second chance to rewrite and get a higher grade. I would recommend taking her.

Professor Burns-Davies' themed classes are really fun and make you learn in a different way. A few papers to write of course, and gives you the chance to enhance your work. She is really sweet, caring, and super approachable. I'll take a class with her again if I could!

Burns was super nice. If you didn't come to class you were able to do on d2l and get the credit like if you were in class. Class was super easy,just have to do two formal essays and you are able to get feedback before you submit for an actual grade. She does give extra credit if you are falling behind. Just do the work and you will get a good grade

This professor is the sweetest, soft-spoken, and blunt person ever. The movies she showed were very interesting and we learned a lot from them. The lectures to be honest could be a bit better though but she gives very good feedback and gives us ways to pass. One thing I recommend is to DO NOT FALL BEHIND. Take her 100%!

Genuinely one of the nicest professors! I really enjoyed taking this class. The theme of her class is Monsters/Vampires/Ghosts. All of your writing assignments will be based off movies or stories in those categories! Super unique approach, definitely choose Professor Burns-Davies if you're looking for detailed feedback on your papers as well.

The professor is really great, and the class itself is fantastic too. The subject is about monsters, which is a refreshing break from regular writing classes that focus on political topics or current events. I'm terrible at writing, but she provides helpful feedback to make me a better writer.
